Good to see you back MD...Haighs is definately worth waiting for.
PAP - so glad the scan went well today and you saw him (?) ;) all alright and wiggling heaps. I'm sure that N will be up and giving you hell soon enough.
My friends Dh works out of Gladstone (mining) so shes been up there heaps. I'm in Bundy so not too bad but definately not just down the road like she is now.
Good luck Arte on getting W into a great sleeping routine. I'm still trying to get Sarah to sleep past 5am.
Hope everyone has a great night. And good luck on the scan Oz
-
Oh I'm going bonkers again. I can see Kate has posted this evening but no matter how many links I click on, i can't find her post?? Too many painkillers???
ETA- Ok, finally flushed you out Kate. LOL Kate what time does S go down for the night? Missy E goes to bed around 8 pm, usually sleeps until 8 am-ish. Does S do a solid 10-12 hours at all?
-
morning everyone
Kate - I hear you on the early riser... i am not sure how to break this habit with N, I have tried giving him a bottle and rocking him back to sleep and occasionally that works... when he does go to bed a bit later i dont really notice he sleeps much later (maybe til 6) but maybe i need to try that? though he is so tired by the end of the day, at the moment we bath sometime b/n 6.30 and 7 and then he is asleep by about 7.30... hmmmmm
i also wanted to ask you guys - he is going through a really really weird phase, wanted to know if any of you have similar.. he is super clingy to me at night, if he wakes he cries and yells out for me, and if DH goes in he goes mental... and yells out more for me but really cries. we have never had anything like this, and DH is very very hands on.. it is quite upsetting for dh and also exhausting for me as i have to do all the settling if he wakes... anyone?? what could this be?
Hope the scan goes well today Katie - let us know!
-
PP L is doing something similar to N at the moment. If I put him in his cot awake he just screams and I have to sit and rock him to sleep. He wont settle for DH either. He woke at 11.30 last night and it took me half an hour to get him back to sleep. We have put it down to teething and hope it changes very soon. We are also having some separation anxiety issues.
Scan isn't until this afternoon. Its nice having DH home today.
-
Morning Girls,
MD- Good to see you back
Noni- Poor Asha hope she is on the mend. Wow not long now for the wedding how exciting. Also glad you are ok.
Katie- Good luck for the scan today.
Early Riser- Livi wake up around 6am the boys are around the same time too.
AFM- We are good. DH comes home today so we are really excited he has only been
gone 1 night and we are really missing him.
BBL and Hello to everyone
-
aahhhh, i just lost the plot with lewis. i feel so bad now!
he just refused to go to sleep, even though he's tired...he just mucks around and laughs and acts like an idiot. he's driving me crazy. it took me about 45mins to finally get him asleep. he just seems so naughty atm and it's getting me really frustrated and stressed. is anyone else going through this?
-
Hands up for a PM if you feel like sharing PAP!!
Welcome back MD, glad it all went well and you have a big box there to tuck into when you're up to it.
PAP - we have the opposite to you, DD calms a lot more for DH than for me when she's upset. Sorry, can't help.
Kate - bummer about your friend moving away.
Oz - good luck at the scan
Arte - that is great sleeping that W is doing compared to before! Keep doing what you're doing.
I'm heading up to Sydney for training tomorrow. Have just over 2 hours between it finishing and my plane leaving so hoping to hit the shops!! My parents are coming down this afternoon and are going to look after K for the day tomorrow lucky thing. She had a big sleep in this morning (just before 7) which was nice.
-
Rainy, I have lost it with W a few times lately. I am really struggling with the whole follow-me-and-whinge thing. It often takes 45 minutes to get W to sleep, I feel your pain. I just realised I am not on the baby-text list - I will PM you my number. If you could be so kind to enter me under my real name - aaajodie, that would be great lol.
Cally, good luck getting some shopping done. I get so flustered that I wouldn't even attempt to go to the shops if I needed to fly out in 2 hours (says the girl that missed a flight because we stopped for KFC lol)
Better go, W is mushing a biscuit into the ground
-
Hi Girls,
Art- Liv mushed a bicky in the carpet the other day...
Rainy- Liv walks around behind me sookin sometimes too I know she does it for attention. Maybe they sense that you are having a baby cause the boys did the same when I was pg with liv.
Oops have to run bbl
-
Just a quick one for G. Yeah we've just come out the other side of that. I have no idea what brought it on, but it was taking ages to get him to have a sleep and I would just leave him in his cot - he wasn't crying, but tantruming as soon as I would put him in there even when he was clearly tired and would normally have gone to sleep without a fuss. Same with bedtime - in the end I just left him up till up to 10pm sometimes till he was too tired to fight and he would only protest for a little while - again there was no crying just the tantrum. I had to leave him up cause there was no way the other three could go to sleep while he was making such a racket. It's only been since Sunday that he's gone back to normal. It did coincide with the start of the really hot weather and there was refusal of milk, but I don't think that was the sole cause because he didn't stop once the cool change came through. But now he's back to having normal milk feeds (although he did drop his arvo one, but I had an idea that was going to happen soon anyway) and sleeping. So I don't know what I can suggest that would help cause there was nothing I actually did to stop it, I just persevered with putting him to bed and leaving him there kwim? Cause if I kept getting him up, he would whinge the whole time anyway cause he was so tired. Either way, I really hope it passes soon for you hun

I am sooo bored. DH is away, we don't have T.V, and I have nothing to look at on the entire internet!!
So I am going to have myself a little vent:
The other day W started saying his own name. It seemed to be followed by a lightbulb moment of self-awareness - he had realised he is his own person and as such can do what he wants! He has always been such a helpful and compliant baby but now he stops to consider every request and decide if it is what HE want to do. Apparently he is enjoying the right to refuse breakfast, he packs a wobbley if he doesn't get what he wants (usually something he isn't allowed) RIGHT NOW, and today he even cracked it bigtime because I had the nerve to offer him a.....broken cracker! He must have WHOLE crackers/biscuits, anything less and he will cry and throw them.
On the flip side, it is very cute when he names his items, 'william bed', 'william car', 'william hut' and when he points at himself and says William. And if he likes something he will give it a kiss to show that it makes him happy.
I really hope that it passes soon, but I have an idea that self-awareness is one of the reasons for the terrible twos?
MD, I meant to welcome you to the next corn-off. Do you think we should get member badges printed? I am intrigued by the addition of the pumpkin category - will this be judged by quantity, quality or size? Because personally I have always dreamed of growing a giant pumpkin.
-
It seems a lot of us are going through very similar stages with our little ones. I am so glad I am not alone and hope it passes for each of us soon.
Had my scan I am 7 weeks today, my dates were pretty much spot on. All is good with bubs and thankfully there was only one lol. Went and had my bloods done too. Best be off and get Logan settled. Will jump back on later.
-
Katie, I am so glad your scan went well
-
Hi girls!
Oz: YAY!!! :bluecheer: :cheer: what a good bub!
Arte: name badges would be very awesome. i too wanna join this corn-off...i have an itch i need to scratch LOL! also i just LURVE roast corn! mmmmm.
oohh wooo on the toddler tanty over the biccies LOL! go will! leila tends to confine her fussiness to her water bottles (ie. NO, i want THAT one!).
and yeah we get lots of pointing at oneself and small but satisfied 'leilas' from her mouth...she just loves it. hasnt morphed into any ownership yet though...
Rainy: we had that a few weeks ago too...unfort there wasnt much to be done except just grinning and bearing it our in our case. just be persistent and consistent with him, i reckon that this is a big moment in their lives, when, like arte says they gain this self awareness and then need to satisfy this knowledge by questioning your system ITMS.
PP: oooh i do like those profile pics. my fav of Leila though is the front shot of her face. i could already make out her stubborn chin...LOL!
oh, and i am guessing PINK!!
Leanne: that's really interesting that the kids picked up on the pregnancy. did they seem to sense when time was close?
Kate: ouch! 5am is hard! i firmly believe (and have told leila numerous times LOL!) that anything before 6.30am is un-called for LOL!!
it's good that your mate knows gladstone. it's actually not too bad and the council has been putting in some nice services up there lately like with the library and art gallery. and you're right bundy isnt too far. maybe nice weekend trips!
AFM: all good here. had mums group today and indulged in another coffee granita...mmmm love those things on a hot day. miss L decided that naps are for pansies today so went from 7am to 7pm without ONE SINGLE shut-eye. and unfortunately she coped really well! :o mummy on the other hand is a shell of her former self! went to kmart today as they had a big sale on kids clothes and would you believe that i picked up organic cotton shorts for .75c!!!!!!!! bargain of the month i'd say. they are too cute as well. also lots of bonds bargains: got t-shirts for $3. great for kindy!
DH has been laying on the heavy hints re TTC! this morning he was resting his head on my belly as i lay on the couch and told me he can't wait until he can feel a baby kick again!!! it's quite nice i must admit to have him say things like that.
-
Clare, your DH sounds cute. Do you guys have a TTC plan or is it up in the air a bit atm? I am completely dreading the day that W decides he doesn't need a day nap, I just about fell apart when he went from 2 naps to 1 lol
I wouldn't be surprised if kids pick up on pregnancy, my cat knows when I am preg and brings me all sorts of fantastic gifts - so far this time I have had two birds and the rear end of a mouse lol
-
arte- i've just given you something to do- jump on fb and check out some pg pics of me.
bb for personals xoxo gotta bath the boy
-
Rainy I love your belly!!!! I cant wait to be big again.
Clare aww at your DH being all clucky. When you going to start TTC?????
Arte ewww ewwww ewww at your cats "presents" that would make me gag lol.
-
MD - i had the drain in too. they took mine out i was on the phone (they were gonna come back but i wanted the distracion). i found the worst bit was wen the end came out.
PP/Rainy - yes!!!! jack won't sleep in his toddler bed. last nite i had to set up the porta cot in my room. 2nite, he won't go down at all without screams & cry's. yst he even cried wen i dropped him off at d/c
-
So much to catch up on, had a busy couple of days teamed with all of us being sick!
Firstly, thank goodness Katie I am so relieved. I was worried there for a bit I must admit! Thats excellent news though. Hang in there with the ms.
Rainy - LOVE the belly pics you look gorgeous. You make me so clucky. Wow you are going to pop any day now how exciting! As for the fires, cant believe that idiot who has tried 3 times to light fires near your place, did they catch him? You must be so worried about fire atm, there are some losers out there thats for sure. I love your deck surrounded by all those trees!
PAP - YAY glad to hear bub is going well & moving lots. You must be getting so excited, I am excited for you & all the other preggy september mummies. So now I am wondering if its a boy or girl but I dont want to know, let it be a suprise!
Noni - Oh no that sounds like one nasty nasty bug. Thats scary that you can pick it up in a swimming pool, as in a public pool or a backyard wading pool? Hey I know what you are going through with organising your wedding, its exciting isnt it, scary as well though lol.
Arte - You are kidding cant believe those people stuffed you around & dumped their furniture even though you guys said no. How rude! Cant believe W is saying his name, he is so clever that boy of yours. You sound like you are having some positive progress with the sleeping pattern, hope you can keep it up good luck!
Clare - How cute is your DH. Do you think you will bring forward the ttc? I am starting to feel left out how about you!?! lol. Well done on those kmart bargains!
MD - Welcome back MD!!!! Hope your soreness passes soon & you heal quickly. Dig into that choccy.
As for the whingy, pita toddlers atm, YES put my name down for joining that club. ;)
Hi to everyone else that I have missed personals on! Hope you are all well.
Anyway so I notice I have been nominated twice for RAK, THANKYOU THANKYOU!! One I know of, Katie, thanks for that you are too nice. The other I have no idea, so whoever it is thanks SO MUCH you've made my day! :D
-
Girls how do I give someone rep points? I dont know how to use them!
-
Just click on the funny looking scales at the top right hand corner of the post MM. ;)
-
hi girls
thanks for all your replies re lewis' behaviour. it's good to know we're not alone, sounds like he's v similar to a lot of your bubs atm. makes me feel better. he was a lot better last night, thank goodness. it's mainly just the day sleep which is a bit of a drama. i guess i just have to wait for the 'phase' to pass and try not to lose it with him again.
thanks for the belly comments. i think i look absolutely huge, and there's a heap of new red stretchmarks that weren't there last time.
hayley- dh would kill me if he knew i'd made those photos public with the deck so covered in leaves! it looks horrible atm, just goes to show how crazy the winds have been over the last couple of weeks, our whole property is completely covered in leaves and branches. yes v scarey about the fire bug. we are sitting ducks with all these old trees around us.
pap- i'm going to take lewis down to get his hair cut again today, he's looking v bogan :)
katie- i'm so glad to hear everything is ok, won't be long till you're looking as big as me LOL
clare- show your dh the pics of my massive belly next time he's got his head on yours and he's all clucky. might put him off! LOL
-
hey everyone,
thanks for all the concern for Ash and her mega bug.. to answer a few qs.. theres no treatment for it so we just have to wait it out.. apart from trying to make her as healthy as we can so her immune system fights it off which we arent doing so well with atm shes got the flue as well poor little bugger!! and she got it from a public swimming pool apparantly its pretty common but they try to keep it quiet..
wedding planning is going well.. im a bit sad not to have my best friend here to help me plan but shes helping as much as she can from a distance and will be down for the actual wedding just u know dp is at work and so im doing most things it gets a bit lonly.. going to meet with a cake designer tonight with dp and his mum so that will be nice :) and dress shopping on friday with my mum.. invitations are pretty much finished just gotta find envelopes and get them out lol taking out sweet time with that haha but we have already told everyone the details the invitations are kinda just a formality..
mm what else.. pregnancy seems to be going well.. have been feeling baby move at night now.. would have been nice if that happened before i freaked out and went to the drs and got a scan etc etc but ohh well lol its always nice to have an extra peek i spose hehe..
hope everyones going well i really dont have the energy for personals biiig hugs to all!
-

HI Girls,
Pap- Congrats on your performance review.
Clare- Thats so cute what your DH said.
Rainy- What a wonderful photo of your belly you look great.
Noni- Glad the wedding plans are going well.
Katie- Thats great news about the scan I am so happy for you.
Art- Will is so smart and so cute.
Ok I got the boys hair cut on Sat and went to mums friends sons salon ( hope that made sense) he did great job and even put some tracks in there too and they look great. Yep thats right my 3yr olds have tracks. He was telling me about how tracks are back and he did some big thing sydney showing tracks so I said what the hell. Mum and Dad think they look great too but MIL hates it. I will post the photos tomorrow. Liv is great she now is saying bye mum its so cute. we have swimming today so they are looking forward to that.
BBL
Hello to everyone
-
Leeanne - what are tracks???
Rainy - man i have to get N's hair cut, it is so gorgeous but hard to manage and hangs in his face... gotta find me someone who can do a good job of it. Can you put just 1 belly pic on here, i wanna see too! i am sure you look gorgeous!
i am really looking preg now too and loving it... but know i am going to rapidly get soooo much bigger.
hey is L in his big bed now/ how did that go?
-
Leemar - Haha go the tracks, stuff the MIL! hehe
PAP - WELL DONE on your performance review, you career woman you! How are you finding working 4 days a week? Do you miss Noah a lot or are you adjusted now? Its hard work juggling children & work isnt it but you sound like you have a great job.
Noni - Wow your wedding plans are coming along. How many people are you inviting?
Rainy - You do look huge, in a good way though iykwim. I think pregnancy is so beautiful! You are glowing!
WOW I have an av woo hoo I'm the real deal now hehe!
-
PAP- They are like shapes carved into hair. (pretty funky) You know like the vanilla ice days.... ice ice baby....lol leanne is dancing....and laughing and looking like a twit....hehehehehehehe.
-
MM- I agree re the MIL. Hey I love your av its great
-
LOL go Leanne!! They do look funky, I saw a young boy at daycare with them as well.
So come on spill....who besides Katie raked me!?! ;)
-
Sorry MM it wasnt me I dont even now how to rake someone....
-
your av is unreal hayley, i love it
pap- congrats on your review, well done, i think you deserve a nice massage or something to celebrate. i don't know how to use the gallery on here anymore, is there even still a gallery?
leanne- thanks, now i've got ice ice baby stuck in my head ;)
-
Hi girls!
PP: CONGRATS!!!! getting an awesome review is the best news! oh wow, what a way to help you feel on top of the world!!
Rainy: ooooohhhhh! i LOVE THAT BELLY! mwahhhhhhh!!! there's a bubby in there!
Leanne: so do the boys reckon they are pretty awesome with the tracks??? i soo thought of 'ice ice baby...' LOL!
Noni: i hear ya loud and clear on the wedding organisation. Leila came 2 weeks early and totally swamped my plans of finishing off the details. so with a brand spanking new baby i was sending out invites, organising the celebrant/photographer/cake/flower ppl. and DH had no idea how hard that was. oh, he reckons he 'helped' cause he hired the car! LOL!
the dress, cake and flower shopping was my favourite part.
MM: oooh, so Katie was the other person who nominated you....i was wondering ;) te he he! (love the av BTW...)
I have moments where i would want nothing more than to start TTC now. but i do have to think of the bigger picture for the moment and finish this phd. so we are pretty determined to hold out until September. hopefully it wont take 2 years like last time!
AFM: all good here. met up with some mums from group to eat homemade raspberry muffins and drink tea while the girls (we all have girls!) played (or rather glared and snatched) together. lots of fun. one poor mum has been through a nightmare lately. her once pleasant little girl who used to sleep the whole night through has taken to inconsolable screaming for at least 4 HOURS in the middle of the night for the last 3 nights. poor mum and dad are at their wits end. nothing seems to calm her down. do you think this could be night terrors?
-
yeah the gallery is still there. if you go through the FAQ section Kelly has uploaded the link to the gallery (that's how i access it anyway).
-
hi girls - thanks for the congrats!
leeanne - i get it esp with the vanilla ice reference - cute! they must look pretty cool!
hmm clare not sure re the night terrors - how old is the baby? who knows what all these stages are - i am still dealing with mr clingy at night and boy is it wearing! the muffins sound yum - sounds like you have yourself a lovely mums group.
Noni - hope the plans are going well. how exciting!
what is RAKING? man i am so outta touch!
clare what was the clothes range you told rainy about - i feel like doing some online shopping!!
-
Ohhh Clare you sweetheart thanks for nominating me, you are so nice! I must admit I did have a feeling it was you lol. Thanks so much!!! Well September will come around quickly, cant believe we are not too far off March already, the year is flying.
Girls I went makeup shopping today and I bought a mac foundation for the wedding, along with bronzer, blusher, eyeshadows, eye liners, mascara etc etc the whole works. My sisters came along. Anyway gonna play around myself tonight with it all as the mac girl did lay it all on a bit too thick for me. I am a less is more person when it comes to makeup!
-
MD - S normally goes down between 7 and 7.30pm then up at 5.30 most mornings so she gets 10 hours straight. So thankful for that but would like longer in the mornings. We've given her a bottle in the mornings and left her in her cot and that seems to be helping ( she stays in until closer to 7am...fingers crossed that continues. Putting her down earlier or later doesn't seem to make much differnce.
PAP - S seems to be more attached to me then DH. but then again when he gets her out of the cot after a day sleep shes more likely to fall asleep for a bit longer on him than me. And :confetti: for the review. You deserve it darl.
Rainy - YES!! Sarah is doing the exact same thing, she only had 30 mins sleep in the end yesterday after fighting it for ages. Then again today. She falls asleep on me but then as soon as her head hits the cot shes screaming at me, once shes sitting up tho shes fine. I've left her in there and she played happily and quietly for about 30-40 mins. SO at least a bit of down time for me but still annoying when I know how bad she'll be later in the arvo.
Cally - How did your shopping and trip into Sydney go?
Arte- I'm sure I've said it once but I'll say it again. You have one very clever boy. SO awesome that he says his name. Next time you're bored on the net look up zits/pimples/cysts on youtube...very entertaining if you have a strong stomach
Katie - YEAH!! on your scan. Does that make you due middle to end of Sept?
Clare - Haha I tell S the same thing about early mornings being unacceptable (or unasseptbull according to SuperNanny lol). OMG on that Kmart organic shirt bargains! great for kindys and messy days.
MM - Gorgeous Av!!
Noni- Hope you guys are taking care of yourself as well as Asha
Sorry if I missed anyone...
-
I think they mean RANKING! Am I right?
-
PP Raking refers to the Random Act of kindness day that BB had on 17th. You could upgrade to platinum and choose another BB member to upgrade for free. Well done on the review too!!
Kate I am due Oct 6th, right between mine and mums birthdays although closer to mine.
Clare I thought you were the other one who upgraded H lol.
Rainy did you get L's haircut?
Oh gosh I cant remember anything else, I plead pg brain lol. My dad is up visiting for a few days so we told him the news when DH got home, he was stoked. I am off to make a cuppa.
-
Hi girls!
MM and Oz: ahhh see! You guys know me too well! LOL!
PP: the clothing is called eternal creations. sooo cute!
