Awwww hun, it must be hard for you too see him like that  have you been using some euky bear rub on his singlet to help loosen all the congestion? It might be worth a try.

no sherie- i'll get some of that today, i've never heard of it,thanks :)
i've just noticed his tongue is covered in white. thrush??
looks like i'll be heading to the chemist
It may not be thrush, if it comes off it's just milk build up or just because he's not well kwim? I know my tounge can get a bit hairy when I'm sick. Just ask the pharmacist what they think though and get some daktarin JIC it is thrush cause that's the last thing you need to deal with right now. The euky bear rub is just vicks for babies and kids. I just use vicks cause it's always what I have on hand

YUM!!!!!!! yay on the super fdc lady, that will make things a lot better, when will miss e start? N has been in back up care the last week and all of this week - i am glad my carer will be back next tue - he has missed her. i am taking monday off to speand with him - we will be in melb. they turned off the life support of the baby (fdc ladies great neice) on monday - so awful. i am making her some brownies which i will drop over later just to tell her i am thinking of her. N drew her a picture which we dropped in on monday - the fdc office never told us she was not working so poor dh turned up with N.. grr they are so badly organised.

Hi Girls,
PP- Sorry to hear about FDC ladys neice thats so sad.
Noni- Glad you had a wonderful wedding and holiday.
Rainy- Hope J gets well soon
Ok so I am ok. I started Aqua Curcuit last night and my legs are a bit sore today. I suppose if its not hurtin its not workin...lol I havent done any excercise since I was 25 lol DH sold my car yesterday and the man is picking it up tomorrow so I am a bit sad about that cause I really loved my car. On the upside I should have my new car either friday or early next week. Told DH that I want it friday at the lastest. gotta put some presure on the man.... My boys were really naughty yesterday to the point I was going insane... But they are much better today thank god. I am in the office tomorrow so I will have a bit of timeout from the kids. Well better be off.
Hello to everyone
Where has everyone gone?? It must be all those honeymoon girls that chatter so much!
There is nothing going on here. Absolutely nothing. I am so bored. W and I have had a cold for 3 weeks now. Mine seems to be getting worse so we can't even go to activities. So I have a bored whinging kid while feeling like crap. DH acts sympathetic but then doesn't actually do anything extra to help. I am getting really sick of the repetitiveness of each day, nothing changes. I hate being stuck at the house. I haven't had any William free time for nearly 2 months, unless you count DH taking him outside so I can cook tea/clean or heaven forbid have 20 uninterrupted minutes on the computer (which just gets me dirty looks and a lecture later about how I need to keep the house tidier)
MD, I hope that everything is good news.
Leanne - New brumm brumm - how exciting!! What sort are you getting? Aqua Circuit sounds great! I'm looking fwd to going back to the Nanna gym next week when my bum's not so sore any more.
Arte - sounds like you're getting cabin fever. Well, unless W is actively fevering/feeling unwell, I'd take him out anyway. Seriously if you do you will notice that there is an awful lot of snotty kids out there. Snot by itself is not reason to keep them at home. Of course if you're feeling worse after this time yourself you need to go to the drs!! Is there somewhere like a community house with a creche nearby, or occasional care where you could drop him off to play for a couple of hours and just roam around, fancy-free for a bit? I'm the first to admit FDC is my personal sanity-saver. Pity we don't live near by, you could come around to my place for biscuits and slices and W could teach E how to talk PMSL.
PP - soo sad to hear your FDC lady's neice has passed away. I'm sure the picture and the brownies were well appreciated. xxx Glad to hear you're back in yoga, are you doing any other nice preggy lady things for yourself or are you dashing about in your usual busy style.
Noni, great to hear you had such a lovely time. I can't believe you are 20 weeks already either!
Rainy, how's little J going? Better I hope. I hope it was just milk and not thrush. xxx And how's L coping with the family changes?
All's good here, DH took a couple of days off to look after E/drive me back and forth, so I've been a lady of watching-tv leisure. Arte we're getting stuck right in to BSG - gee Season 4 is just as meaty as the rest!! :)
I'm Here! hehe for a change.
Rainy -someone told me that vicks on kids feet (of all places) is even better than on the chest. When I pop some on S I do chest, back and feet just to be sure...hehe. I hope its nothing serious for J.
Noni - sooo glad that things went beautifully. Hows it feel being a Mrs now?
Pap - howd yoga go? feel zen'ed out?
Leanne - Oooh, new car. sounds great. what are you getting?
Art - definately sounds like cabin fever. try and get out if you can, don't worry about sharing that love (ie germs) esp if you get your sanity back. Hope you all feel better soon
MD - Lady of leisure...that was me on mon/tues. Sarahs first days at daycare so I was knocking around home doing not much. Slept a bit to regain some sanity from being sick last week, got a haircut and that was about the extent of what I did. Next week is job hunting. blergh
Hi to everyone...hope you are all well
Hi Girls,
MD- You enjoy your mumma time and rest up. Hope you are feeling better.
Vicks - yep I heard that too and tried it the other week on Livi and seemed to have worked.
Well the new car is a landcruiser 200 series black and gets beefed up next week. Hopefully they give it to me tomorrow.
The man is coming to get my old car today so I hope I dont have a cry when it goes.
did you have a cry leanne???
MD enjoy being a lady of leaire my dear friend... i hope today went well.... am glad DH has had some time off, thank g-d this all didnt happen when he was AWOL (oh i mean oseas on important business!!). I LOVE the preg yoga, have such an awesome teacher and love love love it. it isd my 90 mins of me time each week and my chance to really connect with the little parasite (i mean baby). Hmm many less preg lady treats this time, iam so a headless chook... but ihave had 1 preg massage and am due for another and i REALLY need to get back into swimming. ihave done it a bit and feel so wonderful after - plus my fitness cant be that goodcompatred to last time.
i also had some me time this morning. i kinda played hooky!! my pc is so stuffed i couldnt get into my work soi went shopping! got heaps of clothes for N (and a couple of little outftis for the baby - felt so weird telling dh ihad justspent a heap on 'the kids' LOL) and got myself and my SIL a handbag each (her bday but treated myself) and then got DH and I some new linen - inspired by Rainys sheridan!!! naiughty naught but ages since i have done spree like that. i am buying some new jeans (mat) in melb this weeekdn too! yes i got my work bonusand we are alkso getting a tax windfall so i am in spend mode!
Rainy - do you find the MB heavy? a friend has just told me it is mega heavy?
Arte - if you are up to it get outta the house my dear - you will feel so much better for it! i second MD on the occ care - i dont know how all you SAHMs do it. i would need to have aday off here and there for my sanity. gosh you must all think i am terrible and selfish/lazy!!!
Kate - yayon the mumma time. not so yay on the job hunting! what do youdo again?
Sherie - i madea lamb stew last night from the yummiset lamb and for some reason i could not stop thinkingof you. i seem to imagine you doing that. maybe bc the butcher gave me all this info about the farm it comes from or something. anyway you are now associated with my yummiest lamb stew LOL!
pap-yes it is heavy to lift in and out of the boot of the car- but i can manage it. it is so fantastic to take on long walks.both the kids fall asleep in it,they love it.it's better than a gym membership for me- i've been taking it for long walks evryday as part of my weight loss efforts. i went shopping yesterday and spent $230 at pumpkin patch...i also bought lewis some clarkes shoes $80!!!
i'm pretty sure j does have thrush. been giving him the drops- he's still very snotty- wakes upat 5am everyday gggrrrr. i'm extremely tired but loving being a mum of 2.
yay rainyo you made me feel better about the shopping! thnk i did more damage than you... but i feel less guilty now!
hmm i am unsure what to do re the pram, i think it is likelyto go in and outof car a bit... maybe i will test drive it when i am in melb and see. oh i was all set to do it.
hey does anyone knpow do they make king single doonas/doona covers? or do i buy a double? such dilemmas!
ok girls i am having a real dilemma - not of the linen variety.... remember a few months ago N went to backup care and i was a lot happier with her etc etc etc? well he has been in backup the last 2 wks (bc of the sick bubba) and he has just bloomed. i really notice the diff... and yesterday the lady who did back up had a good chat to me about it, and it has had me in tears (it is a diff one ). she said she was shocked to have him as she pictured
What PP...finish the sentence, why was she shocked???
You know all you can do is follow your heart on this one...I've terminated care in the past, it was a huge shock to the FDC lady we had (but it wasn't a good situation so it was easy)...you need to think of the specific reasons why you prefer one over the other. It could be concrete things like - what sorts of activities she sets up, the other kids in care being better suited to his age, the weekly routine (ie if the backup carer goes out to playgroup on a regular basis but the regular carer does not). Closeness to home, etc etc. Once you've thought about it in concrete terms like that, then it'll be easier to decide which way you want to go, rather than it just being an emotion-driven decision, kwimA?
PAP, are you moving back to Melbourne before or after bub comes? If you are going to be there a while yet, then do what you think is best for N. If he responds better with the back up lady (and she can take him) then move him, ultimately it is N's interests you have to look out for, not the FDC ladies feelings iykwim BTW, I bought a king single duvet cover and duvet, they are around but not as common.
MD, enjoy Season 4, and hurry! I need to talk about it but I am down to the last couple of episodes so it will probably all be revealed before you catch up. We know who the final 5 are..... but there are still a couple of mysteries. I wish I could come to your place for some non-muffin (lol) treats. I don't think you want E talking too much though, 'mum help' gets old pretty quickly lmao
Rainy, I was wondering how life with 2 is going. Sounds like you are enjoying it. How is the feeding going now? Hope little J's cold clears up quickly.
Ended up going out to the daycare place for a couple of hours to save our sanity. I didn't want to go to the normal activities because 3 of the regular mums have had new bubs in the past few weeks and I didn't want to cough my germs around little newborns. As nice as it would be to have a break every once in a while, I can't leave W at daycare. He is fine playing there and hardly notices me but if someone picked him up or tried to change his nappy etc he would get upset. He is only little still, there is heaps of time for that later.
Arte, where did you get the last half of season 4...? Have you seen it all now? Is the final one who we think it will be?? DH keeps rabbiting on about "The Hybrid" forgetting everytime he says it that the Hybrid is the one who sits in the bath.
girls...ange has had her beautiful baby girl- Saskia :)
7bs4oz, i'm so excited!!!!!!
MD, eztv has all the latest. It is up to about episode 19 so there must only be a couple more. The final cylon is not who you are thinking. What is your DH theory on hybrids (I assume he means the half cylons like Hera)? If you want to save your download limit I can post you a disc.
ETA, there is an exciting announcement.....
Ange - Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl...
PP- No didnt cry. Will be getting the new one tomorrow arvo.
oh livi chucked the biggest tanty ever this arvo cause I took her off the trampoline... She even threw herself down on the floor and her face went bright red from screaming.... lol She finally calmed down when i walked away from her and she realised that I wasnt caving to her...
Hello to eveyone
Hi girls I am baaaack. Trip was ok, didn't get to spend much time with my sis but I have the most beautiful neice ever. I am glad to be home and wont ever choose to fly with an 18 month old on my own again lol, so hard to keep him entertained.
Ange huge congrats to you love, I bet she is just beautiful.
Rainy when are we going to see some photos of little Jimmy? I check FB everyday lol.
i know, i know, i'll try to upload some photos now. jimmy's always on my boob when i'm on here so i've only got one hand! lol
OOOOHHHHHHHH!!!! Another gorgeous little girl for Ange! Such a pretty name. Can't wait to hear how it all went for her.
G, It is hard at first with two and I don't care what anyone says, the first 6 weeks or so are basically a write-off and then come the end of that tim you've usually started to find your groove and things settle down into a more predictable way of things. Lewis is still so little, so you really have 2 babies to look after and that's really hard. I know Lindsay was a bit older by the time Erin was born, but still very much a baby in some respects and it wasn't till about 8wks when it settled. For the most part it was fine, but it does take time to get the hang of being a Mum to two and learning how to divide your time
Oz, I bet it made you sooooo clucky to hold a newborn again. I always got super-extra-clucky when I was pg myself and holding a baby.
Hey Leanne, so what time do you get the car today? ROFL at Livvi's tanty, it's a regular occurance here.
And how is MD feeling today? I hope that once you have all this sorted out and al the tests are finally done that you don't have to set foot near a Dr, hospital or dreaded 'life evaluation clinic' ever again.
Arte, I hope the colds clear up for you both. I think you should just do what you think Will would be most comfortable doing. Still keep up what you're doing with the daycare place though because it gives you both an outlet and it will make the transition easier for Will when you do start to send him on his own.
PP, If he has come along that much with the back up lady, I would keep him there. The original lady might have stuff going on with her for a long time and it's a bit uncertain with her ATM (which is perfectly understandable) but again, you too have to do what is right for him. I'm sure she would understand if you made it permanent and there wouldn't be a shortage of kids waiting to take his place. I have seen king single doonas and covers at Myer too BTW.
Kate, fingers crossed the job hunting doesn't take long. So did Sarah enjoy her day?
Not a terrible lot going on here atm. It's a bit of a lull before the bedlam of the school holidays ROFL. I'm still busy enough, but it's manageable. This morning Alister woke up on the wrong side of the cot and OMG he's driving me mental. Like right now, he is pulling at my clothes and headbutting my hip, which is his fave thing to do that really annoys me LOL. He's only doing it because I told him he can't have a biscuit and you'd think I'd told him he was never eating again. Needless to say I can't wait for him to have a sleep LOL.
Rainy I understand how busy you must be. Does L give him loads of cuddles and attention?
Trill yep holding her made me super clucky. I cant remember L being that small but he was actually smaller. I hate when L wakes up grumpy, makes me really hang out for lunch time when he goes back to bed lol.
Hi girls!
I BAACCCKKK!!!
Ange: HUGE CONGRATS BABE!!! and welcome little saskia!! what a beautiful name, for a beautiful girl!! :cheer::cheer:
Noni: that is so awesome that the wedding went well! you sound like the true blushing bride!! congratulations!
PP: i'm really sorry to hear that the little baby couldnt stay here on earth any longer. poor wee thing. i too think brownies and nice drawing are a lovely, gentle gesture.
so jealous of all that shopping!! our rudd windfall paid for the honeymoon! (well, some of it loLOL!)
Rainy: we are converts of the vicks and socks trick too. although i find that it really only helps with the coughing. poor kid that he's blocked. leila used to go bananas when she couldnt feed from it as well. so harrowing at times. xx
Arte: cabin fever 100%! make sure you stick to your guns and have 'arte' time sweet. even if it is just a 20 minute break here and there to chat on BB or soak in a tub. all us girls on here know 110% how much it is needed and it is worth being stubborn about it!
Oz: ooohh newborns do do strange things to us! I get sooper dooper clucky even when i see pg bellies LOL! but i am mad...
Sherie: i will be storing the 'wrong side of the cot' saying! that's a good one, might have to tell leila that one later...
Leanne: ooh a new car!!!
MD: did you have to go for more tests? i must have missed something (not unusual ).
AFM: well we had the most FANTASTIC time EVER! can't rate it highly enough. we saw alpine lakes, trekked to secluded waterfalls, swam on secluded beaches (well, as secluded as a beach can get with ALBATROSS and FAIRY PENGUINS!!!!!). Leila just loved it and found out about the joys of nudie rudies on beaches. we scrambled over rocks and hiked through lush forests and didnt meet a soul. so weird not seeing people around for the most part!
we stayed for a few days with friends that live in an old church. they have transformed it into an artists retreat. then we stayed at this AMAZING place where all the cottages are on the cliff overlooking the ocean. nothing like falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing on teh rocks below....
and the food, oh the food. LOL!
i will be posting pics on FB later....
OOOOHHHHH Clare's Back!!! Sounds like you had an amazing time. I think that's what I would love the most about Tassie, it's just not completely overrun by other people. Will hang out for the pics on FB.
OMG Clare your holiday sounds wonderful.
Katie- I know what you mean livi was a bit of a handful when we went to america although coming home was better cause we left at midnight and she slept most of the way back.
Sherie- Pick up the car this arvo. lol at A totally sounds like Livi.
Rainy- I would have to say the first 6mths was the hardest for me with all 3.
MD- How are you going today?
Well I have another friggin cold my nose is blocked. Going to the dr this time to get some AB's.
Hello to everyone.
OMG I'm soooo excited for Ange and family - Saskia's such a pretty name too! :confetti: :D - congratulations!!
He
Arte - yes I've been thinking that the final cylon is not who I was thinking it is but rather someone who has been suspected from the very beginning! I haven't discussed it with DH but he has a much better memory for all the twisty turns than me. He thinks Thrace is "THE HYBRID". I'm up to the part where Thrace (who I've noticed they are no longer calling Starbuck) has spoken to the hybrid (harbinger of death) and Sharon's just gone and effed them all by shooting the 6. Uh oh!
Leemar - think of me while you're taking the new BEAST for a joyride, won't you!!
Clare, so glad you had a lovely time, It sounds like you've come home with your "tank" full. Have always wanted to 'do' Tassie, you might just be the inspiration we need to get ourselves organised! Yes, had 2 more tests - bone marrow biopsy (so I'm back to having BUM pain LOL) and a PET scan.
Trill - sorry but I was LOLing when I was reading about A headbutting you over a biscuit. I cannot tell you how many of our toddler dramas involve food generally and biscuits specifically! LOL I think it must be the universally favorite toddler food, or at least for our born-in-the-year-of-the-pig piggies anyway! PMSL. Hope he's in an improved mood as the day progresses. xxx
Rainy, hang in there, you know it will get easier as each week passes and your multitasking capacity increases exponentially.
Welcome to the world Saskia! Congrats Ange on a job well done!
I must say that Saskia is/was at the top of my list for another girl. Was just tossing up whether or not it went okay with Sarah. hehe. Can't wait for piccies and stor Ange, rest well and enjoy the babymoon
Le- Hope you are having an awesome time driving around in your new beasty. And hehe I hear you on the tantys. Sarah has started throwing herself on the ground and wailing like a harpooned whale.
PAP - Wow on the spending..sounds like you might have had to send N home in a taxi so you could get all your purchases home. (love that ad by the way) As for a job, I was a logistics manager for an import firm in Brisbane. Finding it hard to get something similar u pher so have reduced myself to anything that pays hehe
Rainy - Time for a new av hey? hehe.
Art - Glad you were able to get out of the house at least...cabin fever is frustrating. I sometimes 'forget' to buy milk so I can duck back out. lol
Katie - Glad you had a great time visiting your sister...I am somewhat now not so excited about travelling with sarah in 5 weeks time after reading your comment.
Trill - S loved daycare. Hardly cried when I dropped her off and was fairly good all day. She did come running when she saw that I was back to pick her up so that made me feel good.
Clare - Good work on the holiday sounds so great. Wasn't really interested in going before but after your description its on my list. hehe
MD - Owies on those tests. Why can't all tests just be really simple ones...like peeing on a stick. We've all had practise at that. hehe
I've been stuck on the phone to telstra for like an hour so far. Sarah was asleep when I started but has since woken and is not happy. I've only got a corded phone at the moment so am limited as to what I can do. They have f*cked me around with our bills...all accounts...mobile, home and internet. And after all this time I have only gotten them all onto a single bill. So frikken slow...argh. I'm going nuts.
Better go...hi to to anyone I missed
hi all
hmm it seems i lost some of my post - will write it again later. am a bit upset about it all, i just want what is right for my little man.. (no rooma t the back up lady)
I wanted to say YAY AND CONGRATS FOR ANGE!!!!! i am so excited!
Ok, so PP, what you can do is contact the office and have a discrete discussion with them about the sorts of things you want that are missing with your current carer, and perhaps you can interview some other ladies in your area. There may be a little bit of a wait, but you know N is a robust little boy, and he will be fine.
Kate - bummer about your never-ending Telstra phone call, it's the pits. I have yet to tackle my electricity provider about several things - been putting that one off.
oh MD that biopsy does sound a few shades wrong of pleasant. it gives butt pain???! hmmm, we will need to find a good way to alleviate that! i think it *may* involve a couch, some pillows and an armful of dvds.
PP: man i didnt realise that your situation with fdc was tricky. sorry to hear that there isnt much room for movement. i think that MD might be onto something though with the phonecall...it doesnt have to be a complaint if you dont want it to be, just a clarification of what you really hope to get for his care and happiness ITMS.
well, i know i am back in melbourne as i have come down with tonsillitis again! it would be tragic if it werent so darn comical. oh well, back to the daily jabs and some immuno booster drug thing...box looked scary so i havent really read any further...
quickly....pics of j on fb :)
Rainy I love the pics, he is so adorable and L is growing up so much.
thanks katie, i put them up specially for you;)
jimmy loooves being in the hug-a-bub, i honestly don't know how people cope without them LOL
clare- your holiday sounds amazing, i'm jealous!
sherie and leanne- thanks for your reassuring words and support. i am finding it hard atm, but i'm really looking forward to it getting easier.
pap- we bought a double doona for the king single bed. it was the only way i could get the doona cover i wanted as they don't do a ks size.
:closed: chickens!!
