I would leave him in it G. I would often leave the kids to sleep in their rocker if they looked like they were in a deep sleep. So long as he can't fall out there would be no harm. I would always have a rolled up cloth nappy under the head of the matress in the bassinette and that worked well for us.
-
hi girls!
MD: ha ha ha!! you're right! it should have been the middle road...uh well, i cannae claim any great wisdom on relations what with us living 1000s of kms away from any family!! LOL!
Rainy: glad that it all went well with the ILs. hopefully a sign of the future.
i would be hesistant to have him sleep on a chair. although being a newborn he isnt actually going anywhere LOL! is there any way that you can prop up the bassinette? with Ls moses basket we sat it up a bit on the frame ITMS...
Noni: congrats on the BLUE bundle! oohh Asha's getting brother!!!
Andie: happy birthday! i hope you get lots of cuddles and cool pressies!!
Arte: ROFL! i know i know! i had a telstra man on the phone who also thought it was hilarious...at first he thought it was my poor attempt at a rouse to not get any info on mobile deals, didnt take him long to realise i was for real LOL!
and yeah, i'd go with big black billowing smoke and kilometre high lava to be my clue!
Cally: woot woo! L isnt the only one still fitting in pre-walkers! LOL! i went to go get her some more 'proper' shoes, but alas, they just dont have a decent range in her size yet. maybe at size 5 we will have more luck!
Sherie: yeah i dont think many others would have wanted our old cot. but to me it is just gorgeous and old school. i was surprised at how much smaller it was in comparison to the newer ones!
hello to everyone else that i seem to have missed...man i just can't keep up LOL!
AFM: all pretty good here. feel alot better since i started taking the iron tabs. although being on 11 pills a day is tiresome!
we went into town today as i have gift cards for DJs left over from xmas, and i just can't seem to be motivated to actually commit to buying something. i made a rule that it wasnt to be spent on L and after that i lost all inspiration LOL!
leila's shoe obsession has increased with us being in the shoe shop today and little munster ripping her shoes off and hording all the shoes on display in her pram. it took me a good few minutes to realise what was happening...
anyway best be off xx
-
Just quickly from me I will be back for more later. Did you all see H's wedding pics on FB (her mate posted some)? She looked divine and Maddie was absolutely beautiful. I am just so happy for her, she was glowing and looked so blissfully happy (as she should) in the photos.
Anyway sorry to ramble and for the completely random post lol I just got super excited seeing some pics.
-
I did see those photos of Hayley and Maddie. OMG so gorgeous!
Still selfish here for me but Sarah is so not improving. Her voice is harsh and croaky sounding from her coughing and she wakes herself up and won't settle again. So today she had max 30 mins all day and that was with having two sleeps. Poor thing. I went back to the doctor and he still wont prescribe antibiotics (which is sorta good but poor thing). Shes got this horrid cough thats just getting worse. Dr prescibed some cough mixture (can't remember name now, but started with D). Stupid pharmacist didn't have it so gave me Demazin instead (didn't realise at the time). Demazin is for runny noses, blocked noses, sneezing and says nothing about coughs. I didnt realise until that night and rang them the next day and asked them what the go was. They've still got the script there but just assumed that it was for a cold type thing so gave me demazin instead. So mad! So am heading back into the pharmacy tomorrow to get my script and go elsewhere. Gave them a mouthful on the phone and they'll cop it tomorrow also. Why give me something different when the DOCTOR writes a script for something else?
So I'm feeling drained from Sarahs wakefulness and her whinging etc (can't be helped) I feel terrible cos I can't help her or make her feel better. And what makes it worse is that shes refusing the medication so I have to force her which makes her cranky and upset.
AND...I fell down the front steps today with Sarah in my arms. Slipped on the wet stairs and went arse up. Grazed my arm, twisted and grazed my ankle, jarred my back (again) and have a techno coloured arse! lol. I'm sitting on an angle to avoid the bruise...so frikken painful. Sarah was fine of course. I love the preservation skills that we get once we are mothers. I fell once with sarah in my arms when she was 3 months old and sprained my ankle but again sarah was fine. Normally you chuck your arms out to save yourself but once you've got a kid in them instead then you kill yourself rather than drop them.
Anyway...off for now. Got to put sarah to bed and hope that she stays down. She woke and resettled hourly last night.
Hi to all and sorry for no personals
-
Kate, oh sounds like it's wars at your house! How long has S had the cough for, is she gobbing up stuff? Does it sounds thick and mucousy? Would you consider seeing another doctor for a second opinion round about now? Poor thing. Do you have a vaporiser in her room? It makes all the difference with how they sleep with chesty/coughs. Oh your poor bum, well done for not dropping S! Twice now. You must have good reflexes :)
Clare I had a good giggle at L's antics in the shoe shop! LOL Miss E shoplifted a tub of play putty the day before Christmas! I took it back of course.
-
ohhh kate, your fall sounds nasty
yes i saw hayley on fb. she looked absolutely divine..and her dh is a spunk ;)
i feel so much better after the out-laws were here today. she's still a total mean PITA but at least the ice has been broken a little bit now.
we are playing musical beds around here atm. lewis is sleeping in my bed with mybeautiful new sheridan sheets and doona (cos for some reason he sleeps a lot better in there), while i'm sleeping in his bed with jimmy....
i can't believe how much 2 little men change rearrange your whole life!
-
Rainy I think I'd sleep a lot better in a huge bed with Sheridan sheets etc on it too LOL! Glad your MIL behaved herself - i guess now that you're Mrs MrRainy now she just has to suck it up and deal with the fact that you ARE a part (the most important part too) in DH's life. :)
Ah just looked at H's photos - oh, just gorgeous! Totally love the photo of Miss M in the foreground with the three lovelies behind. What a cutie!
-
just quick before I'm outta here again - wont be on again till Wednesday so don't fret that you haven't seen me LOL.
Love you all!
-
Clare - we can't even get any shoes around here that are smaller than a 5!! Most of our trips to Canberra involve a trip to a shoe shop to get her checked out again. And last trip she was too big for the 3.5's she had, but they had to just give her a 4 which is likely to only last about 6 weeks because there were no bigger ones in summer shoes and they only had 2 winter shoes in which both were hot pink and velcro - I can see her keeping them on - NOT!!
Hayley looked gorgeous in all her photos didn't she - and Maddie looked so good with all those people around and her cute little dress.
Trill - have a good break from us!
Kate - poor Sarah, I agree with MD, the vapouriser makes a huge difference whenever K has a cough. Hers tend to hang around about 3 weeks after all her other cold symptons have finished, feels like forever! Stupid pharmacist! And poor you, falling down the stairs!! Hope you mend quickly.
Rainy - glad the outlaw visit went well and she was on her best behaviour.
AFM - very sore back. I think I am sleeping funny and it is not being helped by DD wanting to be carried everywhere at the moment. Except yesterday, she did not want to be carried back from the beach, she insisted on pushing her smart trike - we got a block in 20 minutes, then I gave up, forced her into it and just put up with the screaming for the next few minutes until we got home. Very stubbon little thing.
-
Rainy:
Glad things with the MIL went okay.
LOL at the bed swapping. I've been having alternative nights with the boys in my bed!!
MD:
Thanks hun. Plus I've had a girlfriend down so trying to appear like all is good all the time so she didn't feel uncomfy!
I think I'd be the same with the boys if we did do Kindergym hence why I thought I mite wait awhile until they have a better concentrations span. Just thought it would be good energy burn off.
Clare:
hehe, L is cute! We were in jb hifi one day (when A was still in the pram) & as we were showing the bag to the door man, A handed him a box set of dvd's he'd swipped :o, we didn't even realised & I thinkt he dude knew!
Kate:
when was the last time S had anti bio's?? I know GP's don't like to prescribe them too often for young ones but if she's getting worse, you would think they would hey. How you feeling after your fall??
Thanks ladies for the birthday wishes. Alex said (repeated) "happy birthday mummy" which made my day!, cos it was too cute for words!!
Alex got up late last nite & actually refused to watch Deigo but wanted to lay quietly in my bed next to me. He kept whinging his tounge hurts & refused his dummy, slept half the night without one. But was up at 5am, again!
Has been raining since 4 / 4.30 this morning on & off but when its on, its heavy!!
BBL ... off to the shops b4 i get the boys
O, I get to see my mum in 2 weeks!! She's booked a 2 bedroom villa in port macquaried for 2 nights for us. Can't w8!!
ttfn :)
-
hi there girls!!
GUESS WHAT??? i am posting this from my LOUNGEROOM!! for some strange reason, the connection is working in here! woot woo! ha ha ha, not sure how long it will last for so better copy this before hitting send....
Rainy: yeah i have to say that i was amazed how a newborn baby weighing less than 3 kilos could change our lives so dramatically! sounds like things are going fairly smoothly though. is it different this time around? or does the sleep deprivation still sting?!...
Kate: BIG HUGS sweet. tough times by the sounds of it.
Cally: so hear ya on the stubborn thing. i had to carry leila in a tantrum today as she decided that walking on the road was what the kool kids do...
Hayley: you looked amazing! congrats congrats congrats!
hmmm better keep this short as my thingy thing of the internet thang is flashing. prolly not a good sign....
bbl xx
-
oops ... sorry, going to Coffs Harbour! tried to edit it but my net chucked a spazzy!
A didn't sleep at daycare & is having trouble settling down for sleep as he keeps crying hysterically when he does go to sleep!
hope everyone had a good day xox
-
Morning all. Logan has his needle today, hopefully its nice and quick without to much fuss. I am so happy its raining this morning, feels like we havent had rain in ages. We are going to make play dough and do some crafts today.
L has worked out how to climb up on the computer chairs, it is scaring the life out of me finding him standing on them bashing the keyboard. He also discovered the eggs in the fridge, thankfully no breakages just yet *touch wood*
Andie enjoy your trip hun.
Clare sounds like your little L is going to cost daddy a fortune in shoes as she gets older.
Cally I hope your back is ok, nothing worse then a sore back.
Kate how are you healing up? Your fall sounds very nasty. How is S doing?
Rainy glad things were better with MIL. Had a good giggle at your comment on FB re the farting. Your going to be living in a very smelly house thats for sure.
I love that in the night garden is back on, I get my half hour in the mornings back.
-
Katie - back is feeling a lot better today, thanks
Andie - lucky you and a little holiday! I'm sure the boys will have a ball.
Clare - woohoo for posting from the lounge room!! That would be handy, I'm not sure DH is ready to give up the desktop computer though.
Well I am trying to eat a bit more healthily at the moment. A nice fresh ham salad roll for lunch each day and just reduce the volume I have been eating too as it was getting excessive. DH bought bullets yesterday and I had 5. Yes, just 5!! So proud of myself.
-
hi girls!!!!!
Andie: hope you have a nice trip. oh man, i wish we lived near a good beach too! i really miss the tropics and dream of my old house in Fiji.
Cally: WOW! 5 bullets only! i so do not have the self control. DH and i ate an entire tub of chocolate icecream last night. felt so ill and yet so awesomely proud! LOL! ah well, i will pay for it later no doubt...
is there any reason for this need to go healthy??? did i miss something here?!
Oz: oh i hope L goes ok with the needle today. which one is he getting? do they have 18 month ones? arrgh i cannae keep up LOL!
AFM: well back at work today. although it appears that i am easing myself into it....being on BB and all. have two chapters that need edits to be put in and chapter 4 needs to be sent off to the supervisor. so it's action stations. unfortunately miss L has conjuctivitis so the poor wee thing is feeling sorry for herself (and rightly so!). DH is taking her to the GP today. i swear we live there ATM.
we are off to tasmania on friday! i totally let it slip my mind what with all the tonsillitis of late. so am trying to hype myself up. it will be our first real family holiday (ie no work related travel!). cant wait as i have never been there...although the boat ride should be 'interesting'.
-
Clare they have chicken pox at 18 months. He didnt cry at all and scoffed his tiny teddies after. Poor L I hope she is all better soon. Woo hoo on the trip, we would love to go to Taz.
Cally I am trying to be healthier too. With all the MS I have been eating loads of greasy foods and with the bleeding havent been able to keep up my usual exercise. Personally I would have let DH have all the bullets lol.
-
This thread has been a hard place to get to today! Not sure if it's my connection or my ISP or something at this end but phew I finally made it! LOL
Cally I am trying to be healthier too. Had a bit of a post-GB binge these last two weeks! All that chocolate stock-piled at the back of the cupboard...LOL No more excuses for me, time to go back to the nanna gym.
OMG I just realised (thanks Katie) - tomorrow Missy E will be 18 months old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Freaky deaky. The month has gone so fast.
Katie, glad L was good with his needles. I will get some tiny teddies at the shops!
Clare, good to hear you are back at work. Wow tassie!! I would love to take a family holiday there. I'm imagining the boat ride will be similar to the crossing between Nth & Sth islands in NZ on a rough winter's day. Pack ginger is all I'm saying.
Has anyone else's toddler regressed to making only noises (Brrrrm beep baaaa wheeee meow) instead of using their words? The only other word we're getting from E at the moment is Byeee! She says it all the time - getting off your lap, going to bed, going out of the room, hopping down from the high chair, shutting the door, taking a toy/book/thing away. Byeee!!! Except her other favorite word which is "wheeee" cos that's what you say when you're on the swing, and DD1 thinks its hilarious when E walks around the backyard saying "wee weee weee" (because she wants to go on the swing). And except when she's "answering the phone" when she says, "Hi....(*pause*) ...UMmm...(*pause*)....BYEEEE!" PMSL.
Having a hard time today deciding which curtains to buy. Bought one of each - a dark "ivory" voile and a sheer netty thing with a swirl in it. You can see out thru the netty one better but the voile is soooo soft and drapes beautifully. The voile is darker though and matches my ebay lounge suite which we will be selling soon as it is too big. Not sure if the colour will go quite as well with the new planned ikea lounge. Hmm what to do? Can't stand looking at the white frilly floral number any longer!!!
-
Hey everyone I'm back again!
No drama, just DH did a night shift on Sunday and was sleeping yesterday, so couldn't get on, then he had a heap of bookwork to do last night on the puter. Today I had to go back to my gyno to get the Mirena out and when you think that it should have been a simple 'please lay back, bend your knees and just relax...' to get it out is now a Hysteroscopy and a D&C cause the bloody thing had moved right up into the uterus and now has scar tissue forming around it :( explains why it was giving me so much grief. So I have been booked in for the 24th of April - could have had it done on Friday, but it was just far too soon to get DH and the kids organised, plus by then it will be school holidays so whoever has the kids wont have to worry about school buses etc. Apparently he's only ever had this happen twice before and both times it was women who'd had 4 or more children. Just my luck I'd be lucky number 3  At least it wont be surgery-surgery so I wont have a long recovery time or anything.
But on the bright side I did get time for a bit of retail therapy ;) and I scored a new pair of Mundial kitchen scissors for $19 down from $40 and a Wooden Thomas timber yard for $26.21 down from $80, which I will put away for Alister for his birthday. It was marked at $34.95, but the table it was on had the 'take a further 25% off the marked price' signs, so I got it down to the $26.21. So I was happy with that LOL.
MD - go the Voile!
-
Trill - bummer. At least it isn't proper surgery. Well done on the bargains!
MD - no idea on the curtains - sorry!!
Clare - no reason for the healthy eating, apart from looking pretty damn good (DH's words) 3 months after K was born and then putting another 5kg back on! I've rejoined the gym too and am doing something through work where we wear a pedometer for 125 days and record our steps each day. Some extra motivation. Enjoy the Tassie trip - very jealous, would love to go there!! Although you can't do visits to the Cadbury factory anymore can you?
DD has just been gorgeous the last few days. So happy, smiley, cuddly and hardly any whinges. Maybe we were just going though a wonder month!!
-
Clare, that is funny about L hoarding shoes in the shop! W does that with all the loose bolts in Bunnings, he treats it like a pic'n'mix lol Isn't the difference between boys and girls amazing, he would never look at a shoe but was sleeptalking about nails the other night 'oh.....nail.....nail....' cracked me up.
Cally, isn't it great when a whinge patch ends and you get your sweet child back! W has been sick and grumpy with a cold the past couple of weeks and combined with not being able to go to activities because of the cold he was driving me crazy! As soon as he looked a bit better I rushed us out of the house for a bit of stimulation, we were so bored.
MD, lol about the NZ ferry crossing. After our wedding we came back on the ferry and the 3 hour sailing took 5 hours because it was so rough. DH walked through the area they had all the sick people in clutching their little sick bags and puked right in the door way so they couldn't escape lol. I swiftly walked the other way and pretended I didn't know him. Then we went out to a little sheltered doorway outside with some other survivers and I saw perhaps one of the grossest things of my life - one of the regular truck drivers was sitting there eating out of a sick bag! That nearly turned my steel stomach inside out, he had tipped his fruit salad in there to gross people out lol
I haven't found that W has reverted to just sounds, in fact the opposite: as soon as an animal gets a name he won't make the sound for it any more.
Rainy, how is everything going? Hope the feeding is settling down. Glad you were huge at the start of pregnancy too, I am just paranoid about twins atm because I just found out my uncle has had a second set (I wonded why he and his wife divorced last year, I guess secret illegitimate twins doesn't go down too well lol). But honestly, if you have that many children I guess the odds are that you will get multiples somewhere - I know of 12 kids to 6 women (including 2 sisters) but mum says that is just the tip of the iceberg, he was getting girls pregnant since boarding school. I don't really know him, but my Nana keeps me up to date with all the family scandal lol. That was a ramble about nothing.
When do they give up their day naps altogether? Since he has been sleeping through the night, day naps seem to have diminished rapidly. Some days he won't have one at all and if he does it will only last for 20-50minutes. It used to be 1.5hours. I remember this pattern from afternoon naps right before he stopped having it :crying: I need his daynap!!
-
hi girls!
MD: i also had issues getting onto BB yesterday. kept crashing. my whole world falls apart when that happens LOL!
i had a dream about you yesterday! LOL! it was soooo weird as Sherie was there too! pretty funny as i dont think i have even seen a picture! must be the drugs i'm on lol! not much to it, we were at mums group together and you and sherie were playing pool. oh, and we as a mums group were running some sort of business. really weird.
Cally: wow! that is great motivation. i have been a 'gunna do' girl for so long that i just have to face the facts that walking the dog is all i'm 'gunna do'...bah, i am sooo unfit it aint funny.
Sherie: as i said to MD, you featured in my dreams last night! so funny!
WTG on the shopping bargains! you seem to have a real knack for it! must come shopping with you one day...
bummer about the mirena. will this be the last time you have one? i haven't been on anything since Leila was born. luckily my endo ATM is manageable, because not sure what i would do. look forward to going to italy and seeing my homeopath. hopefully she can sort me out for the next year.
Arte: oohh losing those day naps is hard!! we have periods where miss L declares herself all grown up and refuses. usually to crash out at 6.30pm after 3 hours of messy toddlerdom.
i am soooo not looking forward to DH on the ferry. he gets sea sick on docked boats let alone moving ones LOL.
ha ha ha the hoarding must be a toddler thing huh? again in a shoe shop todday and the same thing happened. at least this time we came out with a pair of shoes for her. paid a bomb though and trying not to feel ripped off. we bought a pair of clarks and they cost $75!! is this right? or have i been taken advantage of? i know they are good shoes, but seriously?? for a toddler?!!
-
hi girls, i'm still here, still sleep deprived!
all the boys in my house have got colds atm. lewis has so much snot he looks like a walrus. jimmy's having trouble sleeping cos he's all congested...poor little man. i'm taking jimmy to the mchn this arvo (the one that directed me to the tizzy hall book ast time...grrrr) so will be interesting to see what he weighs.
clare- i'm pretty sure that's what clarkes cost everywhere. i haven't bought any yet. i got some awesome shoes for lewis from a website called tinysteps.
arte- your uncle sounds like a total ratbag. i was really worried about twins too cos dh's dad is a twin...don't worry, whatever comes your way you'll cope with and love just fine...i'm not sure how 3 babies in your bed would go though! lol
cally- i'm with you on the healthy eating. my friend brought around a pack of donuts yesterday and i didn't have any :) lewis managed to have 2 though :D
sherie- is the mirena for your endo? my ob was trying to convince me to get one, but i don't like the sound of them at all.
she was very resistant to dh getting the snip. we're not really sure what to do atm.
i hope everything goes ok for you
md- happy 18months missE
xoxo
-
Afternoon everyone!
G, yep, the mirena was for the endo, but I wont ever have it again. Personally, I wouldn't talk to your OB about it - get J to go and see a GP and just get a referral to a urologist/surgeon GP who does them. I think it's BS that you face opposition for it when it's your choice kwim? as much as taking the BCP is your choice. I hope the little boys aren't sick for too long :( Have you got any fess for Jimmy? It might help him out.
Clare, ROFLPMSL!!! So who won the pool game? ;) And yep, Clarks are exxie, but they are one of the best brands you can buy for them. Because the older three all have really hard feet to fit, I have brought a lot of clarks over the years, but see it as an investment if I can have them in properly fitted shoes now and save them tons of foot problems as adults kwim? Like I brought Erin a pair of black school shoes after tryong for 2 weeks to fine some that fitted as she needs orthotics in her shoes as her ankles roll in something shocking - thanks to dodgy feet-genes she got from her dad. Another great brand that isn't so exxie is Gro-shu - if I can't get Clarks, I get these ones and they are awesome, they also have the small sizes too. Paige was in a 4 for ages and they were the only brand that had decent shoes in a small size. Oh, check out Myer for Clarks too - often they will have end of season or last seasons stock for half price. I only paid $36 for Alisters summer sandals and they were originally over $60 (ROFL - again with the bargains. Next time I'm in Melb we'll have to do Chaddy together)
Arte, he probably really needs to still have a day sleep but if he looks like he's dropping it, you might find he will crash and burn on day 3 or 4 without one kwim? So if he does that, definately try to get him to have one. otherwise it might just be the trade off with good night sleep kwim? LOL at your uncle - does he at least acknowledge all those kids? Would make for one helluva family tree ;) LOL at your nana too - my Nan was like that and knew who was doing what in the family.
Cally, please don't shatter my dream of touring the Cadbury factory ;) It's the one thing on the 'to-do' list for whenever we go to Tas ROFL. I'm so tragic.
-
thanks sherie, we do have some fess somewhere,i'll have to have a look.
do they go to a public hospital to have the snip or how does it usually work?
the mirena sounds so bad. i'm not keen at all. implanon doesn't sound muchbetter either
we've just booked 2 holidays, i'm so excited as i've missed out on so much the last couple of years. we're going to the hawkesbury river in november and to echuca in february...of course they both involve waterski races lol, but who cares!!i'm just excited to getaway and take the boys :)
-
Arte - oh no!! No day sleeps, I don't know how you cope!! K most definitely still has one, we've only just moved up from 2 sleeps. She had 2 yesterday, by the time I dropped her at care she had been yawning and rubbing her eyes since she'd been up. She even went straight over to the cot room and started banging on the door like she wanted to get straight into bed! lol at your uncle, a bit of family gossip is always fun!
Rainy - yeah, just get J to go to the GP. It should be totally up to you guys what you plan on doing for birth control and if that's the snip, then so be it! Hope little Jimmy's nose clears up soon, that wouldn't be helping your sleep deprivation!
Clare - K has had 2 pairs of Clarks (both the same style) and they were $60 (on sale). Expensive, but they are good quality.
Trill - I think the tours are out, but you can still visit the shop. My parents went a couple of years ago and got a 10 kg box of mixed chocolates for $35. Awesome!
-
Cally, SIL went a few years back and I gave her some money to get me some ROFL.
G, he had it done by a GP in a public hospital but used PHI kwim?
-
Well that's ok Cally because you *can* tour the Haigh's factory right here in sleepy Adelaide!! I've put my order in for a birthday tour this year PMSL.
Arte - OMG I was cracking right up at your ferry crossing story! You were brave going outside - it's big sea out there!! (not a boat lover I'm afraid - think I might've walked the plank in a former lifetime) LOL. BTW - OMG at your uncle - secret love twins - nice work if you can get it!! PMSL.
Clare, I want to know who won the game too! LOL Hope I had some really groovy pool moves since I don't have any IRL LOL. What business was it? Astral travel tours? :cryinglaugh:
BTW - I would *never* pay that much for Clarks - that's why I buy them for $15 on ebay. LOL Always go for the nearly-new. AGree with Sherie the Gro-shu ones are good too.
Sherie - that's awful about your Mirena - hope the procedure goes smoothly and you have a good recovery. Yuck. But just try to think of it as a little speedbump on an otherwise smooth road. Well done on the bargains. Still haven't decided about the curtains.
Rainy, re the surgeon, DH had it done as a day procedure at the defence medical centre, so I bet there are surgeons around who will do it in their rooms (under a local). If he wants a GA though might need to get it done thru a hospy. Fantastic news on having a couple of holidays finally!!
-
Just popping in to say, still here, still pregnant, still homeless! But it isn't all bad,at least i get 4 nights in the hossy. lol.
Working on a place to live, hopefully will know more in the next few days.
No labour signs. Booking in for acupuncture i think.....
Hi to all. xx
-
ROFL Ange. I really hope you find something on the house front soon  I heard they are building community style housing down there, are you eligible for that?
MD, I think I am going to have to partake in this Haigh's chocolate you speak so highly of LOL.
-
Ange, you never know, you might have the new home before you have the baby...?! Keeping everything crossed that it all unfolds smoothly for you.
-
omg i am about to scream!! i wrote a really long post yesterday FULL of personals...(i promise i did LOL) and posted - and it isnt there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am so frustrated!! so sorry if i mis things or the post is not up to scratch, i dont have the energy to do it ALL again in depth but i am feeling like a bad buddie at the moment not contributing much. i have been reading and thinking of yoi all - but some goes in and out of sieve brain in record time i must admit!
I wanna see these pics of Hayley! it sounds gorgeous. hope she is loving the honeymoon, i am dying to hear how it all went.
Arte - LOL at the boat trip - eeewwww! i am so much bigger this preg as well. the heartburn is here with avengence (even worse than with N) too! How funny when W learns the name the noises the animals make disappear - N is a bit the same - though some have names and some have sounds now...
Clare - well i prob would pay the $75 but i have NO idea. to make you feel better my SIL and BIL paid $135 for my nephews 1st shoes - got totally guilted with the 'these are best for their feet' line at some special shop in chaddy... btw how is the house hunt going? yay for a trip to tassie - that should be lovely.
Trill - ouch on the mirena - you have had a rough trot. how is the arm? good going on the shopping!
Katie - how are you feeling?
Noni - wooooooooo hooooooooooooooo 2 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ange - you poor poor thing, i dont know how you deal with it all and keep such high spirits. you are amazing. eagerly awaiting news from you and your PIG!! LOL!
Rainy - get under the sheridan honey - you deserve it! LOL at L and the doughnuts. yo do what you want re the birth control - your life honey! i am glad the IL trip went better than you expected - helps to have low expectations LOL!
Cally - so good to see you i had been wondering where you were and missing you.
MD - no curtain advice i am afraid - there aint a domestic goddess bone in this body! how is the FDC search going now - did you meet that lady? how is DH finding his new job btw?
ok better go.... dh isputting N to bed and i am meant to be cooking dinner...
btw made some 'fried rice' for N tonight and he loved it (sherie thought a good pasta alternative) - cooked some brown rice. stor fried heap of vegies with some teriyaki sauce (i used peas, broccoli, carrot and cauli bc thats what i had on hand), added a small tin tuna for protein and then stirred through the rice... at thr last minute i beat an egg and cooked it through the rice. this made enough for prob 3 meals for N and he was wolfing it down. kinda like a cross b/n risotto and fried rice i guess - and a big hit! just thought i would post it as an idea for a quick meal if anyone is stuck as i have been of late.

Clare:
enjoy your trip to Tasmania.
Arte:
Jacks day naps have decreased in time but his nite ones have slightly increased. Alex, when I can get thim down, is still day napping.
Sun was out this morning so took the opportunity to take the boys to the pool but Alex was a horror & it was a carnival day where there are lots of schools & they are trying to find the best to rep the region ... then this arvo i cleared out the lounge room & the boys went nuts on their quad bikes & then on the push bikes! haha
-
selfish post ahead...sorry
My sis is 41 weeks and went into hospital to be induced today as bubs is very sleepy. All is going well and tomorrow they will break her waters. Hopefully I am an aunty by tomorrow night. While I am super excited I cant help but be incredibly sad that I cant be there. Its an 11 hour drive and flights are to dear. We are going to Syd in two weeks and will see her then but its not the same. Its times like these I hate living so far away from our families. L wont really know any of his cousins or family. I am sure it is partly the pg hormones kicking in but I just feel so sad while feeling so excited at the same time.
-
Katie - big big . I know how it feels, you just want to be there with them, don't you.
PP - good to hear from you sweets! ARgh at getting your post munched. Meeting FDC lady on Friday. Have a good feeling, keep your fingers crossed for us. DH is being loved at his new-old job (whipping them into shape LOL) but hasn't started his new-new job yet. But no one minds cos they're lapping him up at his new-old job.
Andi - your boys sound like they had fun today!
-
Katie - big hugs to you (auntie??) - i totally get where you are coming from, ioftenfeel the same way - moreso being here than when i was in london bizarrely. is there anychance you will move back to syd at some point?
MD glad dh is doing well.. and good luck at FDC. My FDC lady has been away all week - i think that the baby died (the one with the horrible heart issues) - she was on life support last thu and it was not looking good. have been v upset about it and for the family (my fdc ladyalsolost a son toa similar issue when he was a baby and i think this has brought a lot of that backtoher). anyone got nay idreas what i can do for fdc lady (she is the great aunt of the baby, but a close family).
Andie - sounds like a fun day with your boys!
-
Well I had a BB dream last night - in it I was PREGNANT (!!) lOl - and had just started to feel my baby fluttering. I went to a morning tea (or was it a tupperware party) in Sale Vic and our good thread buddie Arte was there, handing around a plate of muffins. PMSL. I'm just sorry none of you other ladies made it to the morning tea, those muffins were goooood!
Noni - OMG I can't believe it's nearly tomorrow already!!! Don't know if you're going to be online at all but if you are, I'm thinking of you and hoping you have a gorgeous day tomorrow! I'm sooooo excited for you! Do you have everything all ready or are you hitting the flat panic stage?? LOL Make sure you post some photies ASAP - I bet little A will just look adorable. :)
Missy E has just leant to climb. She keeps insisting on standing up on the coffee table to dance. I can't think for the life of me where she gets the dancing-on-the-table tendencies from (*looks away and whistles a tune*). LOL
Katie, how is your sister going? Are you an aunty yet?
And how are you going Ange - still hanging in there, hun?
Ok, I'm schlepping around online cos I'm getting my boob lump needled today and so I need some distraction until then! I'm a bit of a nervous nellie these days. *sigh* It's probably just normal breast tissue like it has been every other time I've had it checked but these days I've got the c-word on the brain. I'm guessing it will be another week before I get the results so I'm really going to need to get out more! It might be time for some retail therapy LOL
ETA - Pregpan, that's so sad. I'm not sure there's anything you can do when someone loses someone except a hug, flowers, a thoughtful card. Telling your FDC lady you are thinking of her, acknowledge both of her losses, is probably all she needs right now. Except a casserole - maybe you could cook something and bring it to her - a really practical way of saying "we're here for you". xxx
-
PP - I was going to suggest the same as MD, cook her something. I think it's a lovely idea and a personal thing to do. Wow, $135 for baby shoes!
MD - good luck with the big needle. I've had that done a couple of times, it can be pretty stressful. can't believe I missed Arte's muffins!! good luck with FDC tomorrow
Katie - are you an aunty yet?
Noni - good luck for tomorrow, I hope you have a lovely time and it all goes very smoothly!!
Ange - I have everything crossed you find a place soon.
-
LMAO, if I cooked muffins you would have been having a nightmare!
BBL
Oh, Cally, yes do have all the Twilight books before you start, since they are a teen romance they read very quickly
-
Sorry Arte, I disagree. Since they are teen romance the whole point of the story is anticipation. ;). So having to wait for the next installment just adds to the anticipatory flavour of the series :p!
PS I don't believe you can't cook nice muffins!!
-
Hi girls!
Sherie and MD: as for my dream: well, when i say you were playing....Sherie took a shot, then i wandered off to see what one of our DHs was doing (they were manning the phones of the business*...pardon the pun). then when i wandered back to the pool table the two of you were sitting under the table and i *think* food and drinks were involved...
*not sure what the business was, had something to do with online orders and appeared to be booming. hmmmmm!
MD: mmmmm muffins....
good luck with the jabby jab today. i'd be wanting distraction too! maybe muffins.....
that is so cute of missy E!!! ha ha ha! although the climbing is always a bit hair-raising.
PP: it doesn't look good does it? hopefully she is with her family and they are trying to support eachother as best they can. i too recommend a card and maybe a cooked meal. just letting her know that you are there and can be a shoulder is sometimes enough.
xx hope that you are doing ok too. being a mum and pg really brings stuff like this home.
Oz: oh i sooo KWYM about being far from family for important moments! i hate it as well. for us it was the bummer of mum missing out on Leila's birth and only being able to stay for a week. i get soo jealous of the mums in my group IRL that have their mum/dad around to offer support and free babysitting services. this was really brought home last week having mum there. she is such great support and having someone around that is family is just different IYKWIM.
AFM: all good here. L's conjunctivitis is clearing up. although the pharmacist gave us the ointment rather than the drops and i am finding it really tricky to apply.
L's fav word of the week is 'DONT'. quickly followed by "STOP". uurrghhhh. usually when i have gotten the wrong book or she is bored of the book we are reading. fuss pants that she is.
we had a great moment last night when the sky opened up and we had heavy solid rain (the first in months). leila looked really perplexed and seemed a bit disconcerted at the noise on the roof so i took her outside (she was already in her PJs!!) and we danced in the street under the rain. it was just awesome awesome fun!
