First thing Alex does this morning after seeing Jack on his bike is go & bring his bike in!
Sorry, no personals ATM, my mind isn't exactly with me
Think I have found a Sol in regards to family matters ... his advice, i don't have to give my ex nothing ATM (in regards to having the boys overnight, esp for the week he is asking for) & when he rings, tell him i want a legal aid conference & then I am to contact the Sol back
-
PAP, that is incredibly sad about your FDC lady. How horrible, especially having lost her own child to a similar thing.
MD, how did the needle biopsy go? Is this the same lump you had looked at when we were preg? Maybe you are tuned into me somehow, I think I have had slight flutters from my bub the past couple of days. As for muffins, I can bake them but chose not to - I hold a grudge from a time when we were given muffins at a nerd-meet at school (for extra exams I was sitting!!!) and I ate a banana one that made me feel ill as soon as I ate it and then a while later I vomitted right in the middle of computer class. It was incredibly embarrassing and I have held it against muffins ever since lol
Noni, ONE MORE SLEEP!! So excited for you, can't wait to see some pics.
Katie, I know exactly how you feel. The day my cousin/best friend had her baby daughter I cried and cried, because I wasn't there to share any of it. It is important times like that when it really hits home how much you miss living away from family. But on the flipside, you get a fantastic lifestyle on the GC, you would have to sell your soul to be that close to the beach in Sydney.
LOL at you all savouring the rain! You can have some of ours. It is flipping cold and it snowed on the mountain yesterday. The other day I hung out the washing but it rained so I bought it in, then it got sunny again so I put it back out only for it to start raining 10 minutes later. So I put it in the dryer and then it cleared up for the rest of the day. Grrr.
-
lol arte you are so funny!!!! holding a grudge against a muffin! i must say some of my closest friends are muffins....YUM! though lets face it it is just a healthy word for cake - do you have an issue with them too????!! ha ha ha!! ilaughed at your washing antics too - man some of you are off the scale on the dom goddess scale - i realised this motning the SAME washing is on the line that my cleaners hung out last week (i have runout each morning to grab something but haventtaken it down!!) - if it rains at my place the washing is just lucky enough to get an extra rinse. i am a nightmare!!!!!!!!
-
Arte: your washing antics remind me of when lived in Fiji. we would rush out to hang the washing when we saw a patch of sunlight and then run out a few minutes later when it began bucketing down. unfortunately with electricity being a premium we didnt have a dryer...
also within about 10 minutes of hanging your clothes mould would start to form across the peg line on your clothes, so gross.
PP: i hear ya babe. DH went out last night to take in last weeks washing that i had TOTALLY forgotten about LOL! oh geez i am bad sometimes.\
Andie: sounds like things are really getting serious up there. hope that it all goes smoothly and you guys can find some peace with a good decision for the boys. xx
-
Well then Arte, in that case I know what flavour baby you are having - i saw it in my dream LOL! PMSL at the Muffin Incident - you gave up the muffins but I bet you still indulge in the nerd-meets!!! Speaking of which, are you a totally HUUUUGE fan of the Beauty and the Geek? First ever girl geek on the series that is currently showing here - we are devotees in this house.
Clare, I reckon I could match you one for one on the mould horror stories - from living in Darwin. Which is like one huge Fijian island except with mangroves and man-eating crocodiles where there should be gorgeous glistening reefs LOL. Of course we pegged our laundry up underneath the house, but that was dangerous too on account of the pointy-nose mosquitoes who all lurk under there in the shade.
I'm so bad I haven't done a single load of laundy since we moved here.. Serves DH right for being such an eager beaver.
Andi, well done on getting yourself a Solicitor. Hope it's a positive process for you. xxx
-
ah yes you are right MD no man eating crocs in fiji...but we did have man eating mozzies. i swear, some nights i really needed a blood transfusion just to make it through. and there is NO WAY that you can survive the heat of a mosquito net.
Oh and i seldom do the washing here either...DH is in like flynn, while lady dame gradually crawls out of her bat cave and prepares herself a cup of tea in the morning.
-
I am finally an aunty!!!!!! Yay
eta It is a little baby girl, no weights etc yet. My sis said when they took her down to the labour ward she was 9.5cm already so was only in there for about an hour. Her name is Lillian Josie.
-
Congrats Ozstar!! Yay, sounds like everything went well. Bub must have been ready to make an entrance!
MD, tell me what I am having!! No Beauty and the Geek here, we only just got T.V again and it is only one fuzzy channel lol Sadly I would love to have a nerd-meet but I don't know any here. I had finally found an equally nerdy group in Brisbane to hang out with just before I left. I find associating with chemists greatly increases my chance of finding nerds lol
PAP, yes the grudge does extend to cake, I am more of a biscuit and slice person now lol
-
Yay, congratulations Katie - that's great work by your sister. Lillian is a very pretty name too. as well because I'm sure you had another cry when you heard the news.
Arte - my lips are sealed - hehe. Can you be a pure science nerd and believe in psychic dream phenomena at the same time? LOL One of my best friends around the corner is a chemist - well a pharmacist anyway. Does that count?
ETA - all good on the lumpy boob situation. Normal (lumpy) boobie juice making tissue!
-
Hi Girls,
Katie- Congrats Aunty. Oh just realised that your baby is due on My Birthday... yipppeee
MD- Thats good news on the boobie
Art- Congrats too on the TV
Noni- Hope you have a truley wonderful day.
Well Livi has her dermatitis back and is on AB's as well as her cream poor thing looks like she is getting more teeth. She was up a bit last night too crying. I swear everyday now she comes out with more words... Definatly a chatterbox...lol The boys are great ATM and as for me althought the cough is lingering around me am really happy with life.
Hello to everyone and have a wonderful day.
-
Hey I wonder if Noni's married yet (*hums Duh duh da daaaah, Duh duh da daaaaaah....*) Of course she won't be reading but we're thinking of you sweets!!!
Leanne, good to hear you are so happy. We all need to be happy!! :) Livi's dermatitis must be pretty bad if she's on ABs too. Poor little thing. Hopefully she'll get those gnashers thru in record time, one less thing to bother her.
-
Hi girls!
just a quickie from me as i am about to log off and head off on my HONEYMOON!! although having my dear gorgeous daughter coming along may take some of the shine off the honey part LOL! we'll see how it pans out! LOL!
Oz: congrats to your sis for birthing her baby girl! and welcome to the world little Lillian!
Noni: hope you have a beautiful day and can't wait to hear all about it!
Leanne: good to hear that your spirits are up despite the persistent cough! poor livi with the dermatitis! i used to get it and eczema really bad as a child.\
Arte: i am an all sorts of sweets fan LOL! wish i could be more discerning!
Anyway, i am off to catch a boat
-
Clare, have a wonderful time honey! You absolutely MUST have some strawberry champagne while you are there (you can buy it at the Salamanca markets) and when you do think of me ;).
-
Clare I hope you have a wonderful holiday.
Noni I hope you have had the most amazing day of your life.
I am not sure what to do, my dad's wife wants to pay for L and I to fly down and see my sister. As much as I want to go I dont want to take her money, I am also not sure if I want the hassel of taking L down on my own, its not like I will be able to spend a lot of time with my sis I want her to settle with her new bub and everyone else will be at work so during the day it will be just me and L at mums. I am booked to go in 3 weeks for DH's dads wedding so I will see her then. It is meant to be a surprise for my sis but I think I want to ask her what she thinks? What do you all think?
-
Clare:
Liked your description "while lady dame gradually crawls out of her bat cave and prepares herself a cup of tea in the morning"! hehe
Enjoy your honeymoon!!
Katie:
Awesome news, congrats Aunty!!
 I hear your dilema. Personally, if you already have plans to see her then I would stick to them, esp if you want to give her time to settle. On the other hand, your sis might like having you close. Chat to her about it.
AFU:
Alex is full of manners tonight. It first started when he first passed wind & said "ooh my bum talked, pardron me" then its "Pardon me" everytime he passes wind. Mean while the boys have been at each others throats since being home, till bout dinner time.
bbl ... train set up time (even tho i know its a wast of time!)
-
Girls we slipped off the 1st page. We must all be having a great weekend.
-
Been sitting here watching the MCG Sound Relief concert since midday! Katie, I too noticed it was quiet in here! hehe. Was tucking Jack back in b4 & thought he looks so long in his size2 full body jumpsuit! Can't believe our bubs are around the 18mth marks!
Have a good evening!
-
You ladies intimidate me with all your chatter! I don't feel that I can always keep up...
We have been having a rough one with Sarah and guess what...now me! Sarahs doing better but shes passed onto me V & D. So we've had a shocking few days.
Then, okay a majorly selfish rant here, I told Rory (whos in Emerald working at the moment) that I had a rough nights sleep with sarah and still felt like *****. So he rang his mum and got her to pick sarah up for a few hours to let me have a rest. MIL brought Sarah back after 6 hours and told me that she hadn't had a nap. So of course S had the WORST night sleep ever with like 10 wakeups with more than half of those needing me to resettle. I am so freakin tired today and she made some lame ass excuse when she rang this morning that she couldn't because she didn't have a bed for her. (Like WTF! she has three bedrooms, Sarah doesn't need a cot).
So I am currently sitting here...drinking coke, eating apple danish and praying that sarah has a better nights sleep. Okay rant over for now.
Hi to everyone...I HAVE been thinking of you all and having comments along the read but come time to write them down and ****** gone.
I hope Noni had a wonderful time on Friday and the photos I saw looked fantastic.
BBS...!
-
Aw Kate, big hugs. Not sure what you mean by V&D but it sounds naaaaasty! Don't ever feel like you have to 'keep up' - just jump in whenever you want to. xxx and  and I've got my fingies crossed for a great nights sleep at your house for everyone.
-
MD, I believe that V + D would be everyones favourite combo of vomiting and diarrhea. I think that it is possible for a pure science nerd to believe in psychic dream phenomena, I have met quite a few religious scientists and it all boils down to a faith in something unprovable
Kate, hope tonight is much better for you. W has only been sleeping through the night for a couple of weeks but I don't think I could manage a 10 wake up night
Ozstar, The Thread Saver lol, did MD send you your spangled undies and cape? What did you decide about your visiting dilema? I didn't offer any advice because it is too hard a call. If you weren't going down in 3 weeks then I would say go for it, but since you will be there again soon I don't know. It is so hard to miss important things.
W's talking is amazing. He copies 2-3 words out of every sentence we say now. Yesterday I asked what he was doing and he replied 'eating sesy (muesli) bar'. He almost never babbles, it is always words or little sentences. I am just blown away at how quickly it all happened. Two months ago he only had a dozen words, now I have absolutely no idea because he can copy almost any word and use it in context later so it isn't just parroting. At a guess it would be in the ballpark of 200-300 words, saying probably 5-10 new words a day. He can also count to 2 - if there is more than that he starts again - one, two, one, two - we are working on 3 lmao
We have been busy this weekend with two kids birthday parties. His social life is better than mine lol. One was in the closest town with shops so I thought I could do some shopping while I was there but sugar-rush William had different ideas so I only got the first couple of things on the list.
-
lol arte at w's social life - i know what you mean! has he made a lot of 'friends' at the play centre you go to? n also has heaps of words and explodes with new ones every day - no idea how many he has. he counts to 3 and also says 5 if there are HEAPS - like is a car park - 'ooooh five dars' it is gorgeous. we had such a nice weekend this weekend, he has been in the best mood today - think his canines have been hurting of late but he got some respite today so was in a great mood.
Noni - i hope fri was AMAZING - where can i see pics?
kate - grrrrrrrrrrr at the mill - that is CRAZY. mine are the same, hence why when we are in melb i give my mum babysitting duties. i know it p's off the ils but even dh prefers her to look after him so not much can be done lol!
well we have decided to get mr n a bed... i guess the sooner we do this the better for the baby to use his cot - and also he sleeps so well in our bed i think it will be good. we got a king single - easy for one of us to lie down with him and setle him. now, what bedding do i use? a doona? i need to get it this week... it could be a disaster but hey it has to happen some time i guess.
I wonder how Rainy is?
hi to everyone else - sorry not many personals will try to be on tomorrow. xxx
-
Arte, get used to W having a better social life than you do! (the lot of the modern mother LOL). All that talking is amazing. Do you talk a lot too LMAO??! :p
PP - good to hear from you hun. Let us know how the bedding goes, personally we will probably do a tuckable sheet and blanket before getting into the doonas, just to keep Missy E better secured in place under the bedding, kwim? But if N doesn't move around a lot in his sleep a doona could work well too. Missy E's a long way off moving into a bed - it'll probably be closer to or after her birthday before we take the side off the cot.
Kate - oooh V&D! Oh I hope you're feeling better soon. xxx
Katie - only you can decide what you feel comfortable with hun. The time you spend with your sister will be special, no matter when you go...in fact it might be better in a couple of weeks because she won't be so overwhelmed by ppl wanting to spend time with her by them, kwim?
Andi - I listened to bits on the radio, man the crowd was totally going off!! :)
-
Wont be on for a few days girls, decided to go to Sydney after all. Will catch up when I get back.
-
Have fun Katie, enjoy you newborn cuddles!!
MD, I don't talk that much (unless you ask DH or my mum lol)
PAP, isn't it great when you get your nice bubba back after a grizzle patch! With the bed we got a light duvet (= aussie doona) but he kicks off blankets so it is probably pointless
-
i'm here girls
got jimmy asleep on my chest so one hand typing
katie-have fun in syd
andie-i watched sound relief all day too
pap- we bought lewis' king size single bed a double doona- with gorgeous sheridan doona cover :)
arte- w is so smart!!
lewis only says a couple of words still- should i be worried??
-
Yep V & D (or VD as I call it, which makes my mum cringe) is vomiting and diahorrea sp? :p
OMG on W's talking. Rainy - Sarah is the same...few words and the ones she does say are said in a way that I'm not sure if shes said what I thought she said or not. I think W is going to be a great world speaker by high school the way he's going.
PAP - You could always just dress N in trackies and socks in bed if you think he'll come loose of his doona etc. Let us know how you go and what you decide...I'm thinking of putting sarahs side down on the cot after Fiji in SIX WEEKS!!
Have a blast Katie and enjoy the time with your sister and bubby
Talented Rainy! Bubba cuddles and BB...at the same time. Whatta combo! lol
Off to bed...fingers crossed on uninterrupted sleep
-
Sorry guys, I don't mean to make anyone feel like their bubs aren't saying enough! It is very normal at this age to have only a couple of words. There is a September bub at mothers group who has no words and has just started taking a few steps, there is a world of difference between him and W but either way is perfectly normal. By the time they start school there will be no way to tell who was an early talker etc, they will just be busy little boys. At this point as long as they seem to understand what you are saying it is all good. I was a jabbermouth at this age too, he must get if from me.
Kate, only 6 weeks until Fiji!! I wish we could go on a holiday sometime but DH is the holiday grinch, he just gets bored and complains and wreaks it anyway so it isn't worth the bother.
-
wahooooo kate on fiji - which resort are you going to?
i think N is also a chatterbox (as i was) - but to make you all feek better he still isnt walking!!! ha ha ha! they all do things at diff paces (i keep telling myself) and as arte says you will never know when they are older. i mean L isnt going to be silent and N isnt going to sit still forever LOL!
Rainy - oooh sounds nice re the bedding - i get to look for that this week - will be lovely.
it is my wedding anniversary today - 6 years!
-
PAP, well done on 6 years! N sounds adorable with his counting, they are so fun at the moment. My mum seems to get some sort of satisfaction out of W's blabbering, like she has been waiting years for me to get my payback for all the constant chattering she had to endure from me lol
MD, I meant to ask how your meeting with the FDC lady went?
-
Congratulations PP on 6 years, I hope you and Mr PP do something nice to mark the occasion! Fully agree with what you say about diff bubs doing things at different ages. My cousin (who has little Amelia who's 3 weeks younger than E) commented on how "advanced" she thought E was. I was shocked because - apart from obvious vision issues - and A had just started walking (much earlier than her older sister too) I had thought they were pretty much doing the same stuff/interested in the same stuff. So I really think a lot of those comparisons really are in the eye of the beholder, kwim?
Arte - thanks for asking, she is *wonderful*. Fully qual'd childcare worker, lovely home, lovely bunch of kids, lots of activities set up (including a permanent "reading corner" - 10 gold stars!) So it looks like E will start on Friday morning, just for a half day. In the meantime E will continue to go to the other lady once a week until the new FDC lady's DD start school midyear then we can have more days.
-
PAP- Congrats on 6 years hope you both are having a lovley day.
Not much to say from me all is good.
Hello to everyone and have a great day
-
hey everyone! sorry to have disappeared on you all, but our pc has died and I am getting a new laptop tomorrow. long story but stuff harvey norman am never buying there again. thinking of you all and i will catch up late tomorrow
-
Art - No wonder our thread is huge with you being a jabbermouth and all...hehe
PAP - Congrats on the 6 years. We're staying at Worldmark Resort on Denarau Island. They do the timeshare thingy that mum does so we get a great deal for the 10 nights. Plus its close to the port so we can head out to all the islands easily. Mum actually told me that my Nan is wanting to pay for ALL the babysitting costs over there for us. So considering three kids in total that might add up a bit...hehe. I so can't wait to head back over, we were on Sonaisali Island for the wedding and then went up to First Landing for the honeymoon. But because we had the family over there with us we sort of felt like we had to stick around them. This time its a free for all...splitting at the first opportunity.
MD - Woohoo on the great FDC mum...I think we've found our Mrs Brady up here. Sarah had her first day today and had no tears when I left. I was given a little sheet that told me what she got up to and her nap times and what she had for lunch (supplied by the FDC mum so that S can get some variety from what I offer her). I'm so happy and can't wait until 2moro now.
Trill - Pooh on Hardly Normal! Can they not get a simple request right?
We're getting better here but am off to bathe my filty daughter...she decided her dinner bowl looked better on her head...HALF FULL...lol
-
hi girls! i managed to find a computer!!
kate: a friend of ours owns first landing! so we used to go there a fair bit, and cash in on 'mates rates' LOL!;) the lobster was always awesome!
PP: congrats on the anniversary! hope you guys were able to celebrate!
Arte: wow! will is great with the talking! leila is talking a bit too. although her sentences can be so disjointed that it takes a bit to work out at times.
Sherie:yup, we had a bad HN moment too. wont be going back either. hope you get it sorted though! we need your chats!
MD: congrats on finding a good fdc! woot woo!!
i wonder how ange is going with the house and baby stuff?
AFM: well all good here. having an amazing time, leila is just loving it and we couldnt be happier! will write more when we get back!
-
Still here. Not much news on baby or house front.
I'm pretending the whole house thing isn't happening, letting dh sort it out! While i focus on relaxing to get this baby out. ;)
Had second lot of accupuncture yesterday, OB app this arvo.
Hello to all. :D
-
Ange, I have been thinking about you. Hope a house comes along soon, and a baby even sooner!
Clare, sounds like you are having a great time.
MD, yay for finding a good FDC lady! That must be a relief. You didn't tell me what I am having!! I would really like to know.
Not much happening here. The midwife came around yesterday and I heard a little heartbeat so I am reassured that there is actually something in there now. It turns out I have been feeling little kicks for about a week but I dismissed them because I thought it was too high but the midwife said that the fundus is up to my belly button now which is about where I have been feeling things. Apparently it is an 18 week belly and I am only just 15 weeks.
I put on Wiggly Safari for W this morning and bawled my eyes out when Steve Irwin came on - how lame am I!
-
I'M BACK!!!!!!!
Our PC is in dire need of repairing, that's if it even can be ROFL, and it is at the stage where IE wont even open, so that's why I had no internet and I posted from my phone and OMG that took forever. But I now have a new laptop, went with a Lenovo thinkpad because the fella who sells them could put good old XP on it for me and not vista and also custom did a few other things for me. Cost a bit more than we were prepared to spend, but the cruddy bonus mach 2 came in handy for that. Now roll on July so I can claim half it back with the education tax refund LOL.
Not much happening here. Alister is cutting an eye tooth and doing all sorts of things he's not supposed to  but overall he's great.
sorry for no personals, but I have been thinking about you all. I have loads to catch up on and I have to finish loading stuff onto the lappy but I will be back tomorrow.
MD, if you're on tonight hun, I will be there with you in spirit over the next two days
And Ange, I hope that this babe makes an appearance for you soon
-
Go the good old XP Trill, I would be there in a heartbeat if I could! However now enjoy the "joys" of Vista *sigh*. Yay for krudd $$!!
Arte - I consorted with a muffin today. Raspberry and cream cheese. It was worth your disappointment in me LOL. Um, no I'm not telling...I want to wait and see if my hunch grows or not! ;). I'm loving that you had a good cry over Steve, how very pregnant-lady of you.
Ange - hang in there hun! You have been so surrounded by love and support, I'm sure it will carry you through the next few weeks. You know everyone here is thinking of you and sending you positive energy hun. xxx
Kate, so pleased you've found Mrs Brady! LOL It makes all the difference when your little one goes happily to care!
Loving hearing from Clare - sooo wish it was my little family kicking around in apple land!
Sounds like Noni's still riding the wedding bliss from her FB posts too. :) Can't wait to hear how it all went and see the pics of course.
Rainy - how's it going in one-handed typing land? LOL Thinking of you and hoping you're going ok. x
-
Clare - freaky about first landing. Mate of mine that I used to work with tells me that his mum is like the caretaker type thing there (i think i got that right). So he goes over there heaps as well. We loved it and OMG the restaurant there rocks. The foot island is so cool and the photos of Pink and Carey Hart over there was special. I love Pinks music and DH and I are huge fans of Carey Hart and his motocross skills.
Anyway...hi to everyone else. Little miss won't go to sleep atm so am off to head back in.
-
hi girls, i'm here- been reading but not posting, usually have a baby on my boob or lap so it's a bit hard :)
jimmy still has this damn cold and it's making sleep really hard.he wakes up at 5am and is so congested- he can't feed properly and gets upset so we end up just getting out of bed. heis still really snotty. i've used fess, saline and a vapouriser and am keeping him semi-upright...any other ideas? i'm so tired!!
hope everyone is well, hopefully i'll get more of a chance to catch up later xoxo
