Oh MD hun, it's a tough one to know what the *right* thing to do is in this situation isn't it? You're not going to know how you feel until you start, but some extra care for E is definately needed, even if just to deal with the times when you're glowing bright green after treatment kwim? You may deal with it absolutely fine, but it's something you just need to take one week at a time. Do you have someone that can just come to your house to help you out, so at least E is there with you, but there is also someone there to take the burden kwim?
Supa, again, it's a tough one to know when the time is exactly right. Sometimes I think you just have to take that chance because like Jaz said, every age gap will present challenges in regards to the dynamics of the family etc. We originally wanted Lindsay to be TT and all that before having #2 too, but once he got a bit older no way known could I wait that long, mind you he didn't TT till nearly 3 ROFL so it's a good thing we didn't stick to the plan.
Kate! great to hear you had a wonderful time. I expect photos for the FB group too IKWYM about the tan - Alister was the same over summer, didn't matter how much suncream i put on or him wearing a rashie or not, he was brown as a berry by the end of swimming lessons. He has his fathers olive complexion too.

Jaz, IKWYM about not being able to do things with the older ones cause of the little one. I couldn't go groups at school last year either cause it just didn't work out right to coincide with preschool and I would have had 2 to deal with. Next year I will be able to though.
Cally, I don't think you've ever said before that you're only having one at this stage? How soon do they want you to take all your leave? You should have a nice holiday with DH at the end of term and use some up.

Super busy here today! Paige had a speechie appointment at 10.30, Erin had to get a filling fixed up in her tooth at 12 and Lindsay brought a note home yesterday saying he was getting an award at assembly today at 12.15 (they send a note home so you can be sure to go and see them get their award etc). Luckily the school has a dental clinic so I was already at the school by the time the assembly started. Then had a few jobs to do around town and got home by 2.
And now it's my turn to have a brother busted up in hospital after coming off his motorbike. This kid has more lives than a cat I tell ya! Ever since he was little he has had buster after buster - most of them involving motorbikes and he's always been lucky and only come away with minor breaks and cuts, but this time he did his knee in gooooood. He had the first lot of surgery yesterday to clean it out and start to mend it with pins, but they had to leave the wound open so it could drain (and the hospital he is in has a terrible record for staph infections so fingers crossed he doesn't pick anything up) and he will need another lot of surgery on Thursday and then they are talking skin grafts. Mum is heading over to see him tomorrow, but I can't get over to see him this week. He's doing well enough though, well as much as can be expected anyway.
Ow for your poor bro, Trill - tho it does sound like he likes to ride em hard (and doesn't learn his lessons) LOL! Keeping fingies crossed the wound will stay nice and clean and he'll heal quickly after a short hospy stay. Did I tell you I was in a MRSA/VRE room after surgery? Turns out they clean the rooms really well when there's a problem so it was prolly cleaner than a regular ward LOL. Hope you can get to see him soon. xxx
I LOL'd at glowing bright greeen! Tho I don't really mind what colour I look just provided nothing green's coming out either end, kwim LOL. I don't really have any one who can lend a hand that way - most of my peeps either have little ones of their own OR are working for a living. But I suspect if I really need it someone will turn up. So far the Universe has brought me everything I need - I even found some BRAND NEW healing meditation CDs I'd picked up at a 2nd hand bookstore for $3 last year and had completely forgotten I had/never needed until now. How cool is that!!?! All loaded up on the ipod for any waiting room moments when i need to get zen in a hurry.
Oh yeah, definately load up the ipod - when my Mums partner was having chemo last year for bladder cancer he said most of the time it was "boring as batsh it" and some people were too consumed in their misery to chat to pass the time (he said there were a few who saw chemo as the closest thing to death itself, so they were pretty negative people to be around from what he said about them, not that there is anything wrong with that, but you kwim), so he spoke with the staff or took a few books to read.
MD - The last thing you need is other people putting their doom & gloom onto you, so definately crank the ipod! Dont feel bad putting E into extra care, you are going to need it.

AF due today, no sign of her, but she feels like she's on her way. Ah well, I was so certain this was it due to the symptoms, but maybe my body is feeling confused after coming off the pill. Never mind we arent in a hurry.

Gypsy - bummer on af but no hurry is a good thing you can take it as it comes. that said i know how it feels when every month is a wait/anticipation even if you arent in a rush.
Rainy - sucha big wooo hoooo om the acc care going so well. sounds like it will be sucha good option... and you will get some time with jimmy (ie more snuggles and chick flicks) and it will be good for L too. i think it is great you are going ahead with it. gosh you make me look slack as i will be keeping N in creche for maybe 3 days a week...
on that note N is doing so well at creche this week for his 1st week, they are amazed by how happy he is to play with everything and the other kids. on the 1st day he only slept 20 mins (eeek) which was the only 'problem' but yest he slept 2 hrs! so happy happy here about all of this... they also commented that he ate so well yesterdy, i had a little laugh - it hadnt crossed my mind he may not. he also comes home so tired from doing so much ALL DAY but happy, he is so chatty trying to tell us everything and running around the house - it is a joy to see and it just feels we have done the right thing. now to manage the next change, the big boy bed arrives tomorrow...
i had my ob planning visit yest and it went so well. the only thing the ob is worried about is that i may end up one of those women who birth in the car as he thinks it wil be super quick based on stats and last time. they had said allow an hour for the appt as it was to discuss everything in detail... i was out in 20 mins as there wasnt much to discuss!! which is a good thing! it feels good to have an ob tell you you should have 12 children!! he says my body is made for it.. i did point out it certainly doesnt feel that way. anyway have been reading up on everything from gas to csections and thinking through what atmosphere i want etc etc anyway... but so far all looks great. baby is head down atm and ob said the baby may move but not so likely, measuring spot on, my bp still the same as when i first went in, baby heart rate great - so all good!

I bet you've been going crazy buying all those new little outfits for the GIRL you're having...?! LOL BTW my GF had an instant unplanned homebirth - literally squatted down in the hallway and started pushing... LOL her DH got coached thru over the phone by the ambos. She was in shock for a bit but otherwise all was fine. Not worth worrying about IMO.
Trill - how's your bro today? I think your mum's partner is spot on about avoiding the misery-gutses of the world. It is what it is, you know, might as well make the best out of it. DH has even shown me how to load videos into my ipod (well actually its an iphone) so I'll be laughing away to myself like a properly healthy lunatic on my chemo days.

MD, aren't you always saying that it is the quality of time spent rather than the quantity that is important? Sure Miss E will miss your time together if she is in care a bit more, but there are many people that have to put their kids in care more than they would like due to circumstance, and your reason is a rather compelling one. Have you called Centerlink to see if there is any sort of payment you can get for situations like this ie extra childcare while undergoing medical treatment? Might be worth a ring? When does the chemo start? Have been thinking about you heaps.
