Geez, i've been hanging out for BB tonight! Kids went to bed beautifully and dh is away in melbourne. I've watched Lush House (can't wait to try out some new cleaning ideas) and have been cruising the putie. ;)
Katie - hope your little bubba is good for you tomorrow, and let's you see him/her beautifully
Pap - hope N is feeling better soon. You must be getting exhausted right about now.

Hannah has her eye teeth trying to break through the skin, so needless to say she is finding it difficult to cope in certain situations (namely when i ask her to stop doing something or i want to get her dressed :rolleyes: )

I felt so horrible this afternoon. I was at school picking up the girls and there was a big puddle nearby. 2 little boys were having a lovely time walking through it, as you do. The mother of one of them came around the corner, and i joked with her that they were having a wonderful time in the puddle. She asked which one did it - i answered both of them (thinking it was all a bit of fun) and she grabbed her child and absolutley walloped him on the backside!!!!!! I felt absolutely dreadful. Poor little thing :( I'm going to be keeping my mouth shut around her from now on.

Just found out my niece had to go to hospital last night - bad croup. They were there from 9:30 until 2am and she was awake the whole time (on steroids). She is having a huge sleep but my poor sister has been awake since 5:30 because that is when my niece normally wakes up! Hope she gets an afternoon nap in.

hi Cally - your poor sister, and your poor little niece. Sleeps all around at their house i'd say.

I wish i could sleep today. Hannah is EXHAUSTING me! She has her eye teeth trying to break through (i think they must all be coming at once :rolleyes:) she is incredibly irritable, and i just put her back in her cot 4 times in 10 minutes. all is quiet now, so i'd better go and check on her.
ok, she's sound asleep. off to make a cuppa and find some cooking chocolate :lol:

MD, glad to hear that your first nuke session wasn't too traumatic. I hope the tingling fingers go away quickly.

Oz, how was the scan? Did you find out the gender? I think you were having a surprise? I wish I had just asked, the amount of times I have looked at the dvd trying to spy bits is stupid.

Gypsy, hope the bleeding has settled down. I went to a midwife early this time round at about 5 weeks but only because I was concerned about my slightly high blood sugars. Otherwise I would have waited a bit longer, just do whatever feels best for you.

Rainy, yay on the bribery money! Is there a friend or relative who could come and stay for a couple of days, help with the kids and have some catch up time at night?

JaZ: we are the same in this house. although it appears that her eye teeth are taking weeks to come through. but i notice that she is only frazzled when they are right under the skin ITMS. but its the pits thats for sure!

Arte: yeah, i'm afraid that i would just go insane with guessing the sex so i know that like last time i will *have* to find out before birth day...no willpower.

AFM: well we have had a pretty intense week. found our DREAM home, only to be informed that our bestest friends are also going for it. :wall: completely devastated. i thought to be the 'nice' person and pull out but have been pretty torn up about it. ah well, surely there's gotta be a home somewhere for us.
also, i just want to leave this house. a guy was murdered the other night just a few houses up in front of our 7/11 (you know where i was getting my slushie fix). and the murder weapons and car were dumped behind my friend from mothers group house. they now have blood all over the back fence of their place. i just hate it. i think we need a new start. i dont really want my girl growing up in such a violent area anymore. (we have noticed a whole heap of violent crime increasing in this part of brunswick lately, who knows why?!).

Well BB has been driving me crazy today, don't seem to be able to post, then I touched a button and lost everything I typed? So you're getting the condensed version.

Feeling ok today, sorta pregnant really - tired, hungry, nauseous. Not too bad. Going to do lots of energy work on my hands/fingers so I dont' get the nerve damage happening there.

Clare I reckon L being italian should have some sort of cooking gene already. Tho I'd be happy to lend R out for the weekend to teach him how to bake, provided me and the girls can tag along too LOL!

Arte - I can just imagine you hunched over the screen, peering. LOL

AFM had my scan today and all was great. Didn't get any pics besides one DH took on his phone but can't complain as the scan was bulk billed. I have a 3d scan booked in 6 weeks just so I can have another peak at bubs. Bub was perfect although rather shy and wouldnt face us, making checking the heart very difficult lol. L had a great day with his uncle and almost scored some hermit crabs, thats the last time BIL is aloud to take him to the pet shop lol. I am buggered so had better go to bed.

afm all is fine.. poor N had a cold/lurgy which (surprise surprise) has now become an ear infection... so he is back on ABs. the winter roundabout continues. had him home yest with me but he is back at kindy today... seems good. was up ALL NIGHT on Mon night but slept really well last night.. and seems so much better. DH and I have had a gastro thing - amazing hwo it isnt about me anynore - here i am 34 wks preg, gastro etc etc and i am up ALL night with a baby and have to bouncebaxk the next day... oh well, only about 21 more yrs til the world can revolve around me again LOL!

Poor little Noah, I was sooo hoping he'd cruise through it this year!! Rotten luck with the gastro, hope you've caught up on some of your rest....you'll be a lady of ??leisure soon tho, when does your mat leave officially start?

I reckon you just need to get really clear on what qualities you are prepared to compromise on in order to get the qualities you really want, then once that's laser-clear, you'll know exactly which house to buy without being buffeted about by all the other market forces. xxx

Oz: ooh no! i used to have hermit crabs when i was a young tween and they are heaps and heaps of work. and i felt so cruel keeping them cooped up in a tank when all they wanted to do was explore the big wide world (they are genius escape artists and will move things to the side of the tank and gradually build up scaffolding and escape...found one in the middle of the road one morning doing his big jail break (yes, managed to get out of the house, through the yard, down the gutter!).

MD: oh jealous over here! so nice to meet with BB crew! take some piccies!

PP: :o you guys have had a really rough trot this year with lurgies. hope you feel better soon and can manage some rest while N is at kindy. i wish we lived up the road still! now that i know you are there, we could have many catch-ups and helping hands moments!! arrgh! maybe even N and L would have gone to the same kindy!!

MD, I forgot to reply about your exciting potential NZ holiday! I hope you get to come, you are all welcome to stay with us if you come this way, we would love to have you. W is his normal delightful self. I can't believe how lucky we are to have such a beautiful lovely child. He is so sweet. Yesterday he was outside playing and I heard him at the door saying 'mum open door', so I let him in and he had an arm load of firewood to bring in!

He is actually having a day nap today, I don't know what to do with myself! Actually, I have the GTT tomorrow so I am going to sit here and eat chocolate lol

bought jimmy a special mirror that pays music for in the car- dh is gonna put it in there tonight so hopefully that sorts out the car situation a little.

Niece is doing heaps better. They gave her some more steroids the next night because they could tell she was starting to get wheezy and she went really hyper again at my other sister's for dinner. Apparently the comment was made that it was a bit like having Katie over for dinner!! (niece is very placid usually compared to K)

I was in Waverley - was house captain actually. did you recognise me when we met up - I didnt recognise you or i would have said something but i am pretty hopeless. i didnt even realise you grew up in canberra or i am sure i would have asked which school etc. i had a few friends in your year too actually. and i did lots of music - played the cello and sax (theres something none of you knew about me) so i am sure we have no degrees of seperation. imagine back then if i had come up and said in 15 yrs we will be chatting online about our kids...( i didnt even have email or the internet!) most bizarre and great!glad your niece is doing better. Not really sure what to make of all this swine flu hype. The bug has not proven to be any worse than the normal flu. So i don't quite understand the panic. Do they think it might become a more severe bug?

I am starting to worry about swine flu too, especially seeing as there is a Perth family who are about 3 suburbs away from me, infected, & not taking precautions & leaving the house to go shopping, I can just imagine they would be going to the big mall that I go to as well, seeing as we are only suburbs apart.

AFM - Spotting has stopped again, I had my initial appt with the doc yesterday & I mentioned it to her. She wasnt too worried, but has given me a referral for a scan after 7 weeks + if it continues. Hopefully I wont need to use it.

Does anyone know if you can dye your hair during the 1st trimester? My skanky regrowth is showing something shocking.

Had a friend over yesterday for a playdate as she has a 22mth old girl. My gosh she was gorgeous, & I could really see the difference in stages between her & M, even though they are only 2 months apart. I am actually starting to worry about M's language development, as she only says a couple of words, bye bye & uh oh (if thats even a word). She seems to understand, but I'm just worried as her little friend was blabbing away talking so clearly. Does anyone else have the same worry?

There is a girl in the mothers circuit here that was at school a year below me. She recognised me but I only knew her name. She was sporty and I was nerdy, completely different circles and we ended up in the same place doing the same thing lol.

DH is taking the morning off to look after W, not expecting good results since I was on high insulin last time. Hoping that the 5kg I lost between pregs will help me out but not holding my breath.

Ange, I don't think the swine flu is worth the panic. Good if you are in the face mask business though.

Rainy, hope your weekend goes well. W did a Lewis the other day, fell asleep eating chippies and then woke up and started where he left off. He even had his eyes closed still eating them lol.

gyp- yes sometimes i worry about lewis' non-talking too.

MM and Rainy- I seriously wouldn't worry about how many words they do or don't have at this age. They are all so different, and one or two words is still withing the normal range. Lu went from no words to lots of words in about 2 weeks. It can happen very suddenly. I have 2 friends with boys a week apart. At one boys 2nd birthday he could say ma, Da and No. The other boy was talking in complete sentences. 2 years on you can't tell the difference in their language.

Bleh I just typed up a bit catch up and then (without pressing any buttons) I got mysteriously vorpalled back to one of our old threads and lost the lot AND got logged out as well.

I've been manic all afternoon - like your neice Cally, I think the steroids are making me hyper - and now I'm exhausted. Hands are ok, bladder is getting worse, skin around nails is starting to go yuck as is my mouth. Apart from that feeling ok but will prolly crash on the weekend.

Had fab morning with Supa and no-so-little-anymore T! Worked out it's over 2 years since we first met on BB - can't believe it's taken this long to meet up! Supa is gorgeous lady, we had a ball and will meet up soon when we get a winter indoor venue planned LOL. Will post some photies if it's ok with Supa, girls had a lovely time playing in the autumn leaves.

Re the talking - when you add up things like names of ppl you see all the time, mum, dad, dummy, bed, more, no, mine, favorite foods, drinks, bottle, milk, bath, teddy, sleep, car etc, I'm sure they talk a lot more. Plus I'm sure E says words to me all the time (and uses them consistently) but I don't always understand what she's saying because the word she uses doesn't sound like the word I say, kwim? But it's still a word! If you're still worried just repeat yourself over and over (making eye contact) and eventually you will start hearing it repeated back. DD1 had a speech delay but it took ages to get assessed and we just kept on repeating ourselves and eventually she twigged. No danger of her not talking these days!! If you're worried, you can always get the ball rolling on things like a hearing test and a speechie assessment (waiting lists can be long) but you'll probably find by the time you get to the assessment they will be chatting away well within the normal range.

have been trying to get on here for a while but something was happening with the comp or the server or something? bleh..
soooo tired this morning was up for a few hours last night feeling unwell.. probabl;y my shocking dietry choices of kfc for lunch and maccas for dinner hahaha oops!!
Ashas doing well, shes behaving much better and sleeping through the night most nights now and if she wakes it dosnt take much to resettle her and shes staying in her own bed which is great!! she started school last monday and absolutely loved it! she just played the day away lol i rang up worried about her and she was just off playing.. obviously very ready to go, might put her in a second day when bubba comes if she wants to..
with the speaking she does talk alot but everyone has commented on the fact that shes a bit ahead in that region lol she can even count to 6 now though the numbers arent all correctly pronounced you can nderstand what shes saying.. ive tought 2yos tho that only have 4 or 5 words other than names of ppl and comfort things so i wouldnt be too worried just yet..

bubba is doing well.. had anti natal appt yesterday and even though ive put on almost 12kgs (eeeeeek) im only measuring 29 in fundal height and will be 31 weeks on sunday so looks like im just getting fat oops!! Am feeling totally unprepared!! had pretty much everything done by this stage in the preg with asha hahaha!! just picked up the basinette yesterday that i had on raincheck.. am glad i rainchecked it when i did coz i got it for $75 its currently on special for $111 and normall $140 so very proud of that one! even tho my mum decided she wanted to pay for it anyway haha, might get a new matress for it tho the one it came with seems pretty crappy!!
md - hope your feeling better now, medications always really affect me too..
arte - goodluck with ur GTT!! ive had 2 now grr and they just told me yesterday theyll make me do a third if they think baby is getting big how annoying!!
gypsy - i think its recomended to wait till after the first trimester to dye ur hair.. would think it would be ok in a very well ventilated area but im not really sure..
pap - how far are you now? im really hoping to go early this time too but i was a week late with Asha so im not holding my breath haha!!
anyway ladies am off gotta get Asha ready.. shes going to my mums today, thank god coz i really need a rest!! especially since its raining again! this weather is driving me insane i have so much washing to do :(

Calre - no, I wasn't a muso. Joined the 11/12 choir in year 12 because me and one other girl in our friendship group were sick of being by ourselves every Monday lunchtime - I had no musical ability whatsoever. Most of my friends were in the band / orchestra / choir though.

Grr, my pedometer doesn't seem to be working today, Just did a walk with one of the girls and she did almost 4000 steps, I did 1400!! Not impressed. Will take me forever to get to 10,000 today.

Noni - way to go on the bargain bassinet!!

Gypsy - we really have no talking. Last week we had a 'Daddy' and a 'cold' (when the frozen yogurt went down her front!) Neither has been repeated. We are booked in to see a speechie in 2.5 weeks. DH and I aren't really worried though as neither of us started talking until over 2 years and K has a very good understanding of everything we say. She probably has a lot more words, however as MD said, I just don't understand what they are. She has big coversations with herself in the back of the car most days.

Swine flu - not worried about it too much. One of MIL's friends is in self quarantine at home, she was on the cruise ship last week that most of the cases were from (she has tested positive). So it is in our area, not sure if she would have gone out at all since returning. So far it doesn't seem any worse than the normal flu. We've all been immunised so I figure if any of us show 'flulike symptoms' then we go and get tested.

Clare we went to the botanical gardens where we could have the coffee AND the park at the same time (oh, I know it, I *am* a genius)! LOL Yeah defnitely come and visit us - although the leaves have all come off very quickly this year...but there are so many of them at the bot gdns the show lasts a bit longer! BTW PMSL about your Jethro Tull band!

Noni, yay that Asha's sleeping and playing and everything more happily now! What did you do different or was she just going thru a phase/cold/teething do you think?

Missy E has been a lot less pleasant than usual, I don't think we've had a single non-tantrum dinner for about a fortnight *sigh* but in her defence she's popped about 10 teeth thru at once (no I'm not too sure exactly how many, she used to only have 2 on top and 2 on bottom but now she suddenly have 4 top and bottom AND molars AND I think the eye teeth are coming thru too but I'm not game to put my finger in there to feel for them at the moment for fear of getting it bitten off.

Forgot to take my roids this morning and started coming down off them before I remembered to have them and OMG I'm not looking forward to it tomorrow. Missy E was clingy and foul (teeth, as above) and I just didn't have the werewithal to deal with it. I expected to feel physically exhausted but this morning I realised I'll be shockingly depressed as well. All this to look forward to ...x 6!! Luckily I've still got half a box of Hahndorf chocs to console myself LOL.

ETA - re swine flu - No not worried about it here. More worried about all the revolting individuals who are quite happy to take their regular flus and colds out into a public place and cough and sneeze them around in a highly uncovered way. How frickken hard is it to hold a frickken tissue over your face before you spray???!!!!

Md - we made a few small changes like not smacking and replacing it with time outs (that was very effective! Shed much rather be smacked haha) we stopped letting her in our bed except for once its a reasonable time in the morning annd we implemented a bed time routine of going to bed at the same time each night with a bottle and she's now enjoying her bed and bedtime a whole lot more.. Oh and the dummy is being restricted a bit more too.. So all that put together with her having a few more weekly activities she's realy doing well.. Hope that all makes sense bit of a ramble I know!

it was lovely meeting up with MD finally! (MD u r so lovely and E is just gorgeous, T was exhausted and slept in the car on the way home, so i stopped in at baskin robbins and scoffed an icecream down, and had to hide the evidence in the bin b4 DH found the container). i had a fab time... (i realise i was a bit freaked out mtg someone i know so well but in person its weird). i will get over it b4 next we meet dont worry.

MD - what were u thinking forgetting ya roids! tsk tsk, all that fun yesterday took your mind away.... lol. i hope E is feeling better this afternoon. 10 teeth at the same time is not fair.

better get back to work..... (3/4 the way thru eclipse now. read til 1am! i am so bad).

Rainy: i forgot to say thanks for telling me about your multi-vit reaction! it was actually relieving to see that i am not the only one that gets nauseous from the stuff. i think i will have to keep searching. ho hum.

AFM: forgot to mention that last night was accented by two gunshots. yay. just as i was falling asleep too. although no mention of it today, despite a cacophony of police screeching down the road about 10-15 minutes later...

Hey everyone! I'm still alive LOL. I feel so terrible for not being a good buddy ATM. I have had a shocking few days. I have had the mother of all periods - I seriously thought I was going to pass out on Tuesday night cause I felt all light headed and it was like lochia it was that heavy - I was flooding pads and had to change them every hour and OMG the clots! It was still really heavy up till yesterday, but today it seems to have gone. It scared me though, I wasn't sure at what point you could call it a haemorrage kwim? and Dh was on nightshift too so I was on my own. But it's the first one since the mirena was taken out so not sure if that's had anything to do with it or not. Plus we've got a house full of mice again since the rain and cold weather so I have had twice as much cleaning to do too :(

I will make sure I keep up again now though.

Oh my goodness Trill, that sounds so bad. I would have panicked too. surely that isn't normal. you need a big steak to increase your iron levels again. yuk about the mice. i heard some squeaking in our roof a month or two ago and was sure it was mice, but haven't heard them since. its a mystery. you'll have to get DH onto the traps.

Cassius - heck i wonder if those shots were anything serious. scary. :clap:WELL DONE on the all nighters. lol. i drew the line at 3am last week.

DH is getting his mop cut now, so i am just finishing off 3 TAFE assignments...

Secretly wondering whether i should start taking elevit *JIC* DH agrees for T to be 2.5yrs if/when the next one arrives. MD and i were discussing that we feel left out. LOL. i can't remember when u r supposed to start taking elevit, can u ladies inform me.

Trill - That doesnt sound nice, is it still going? Maybe you should speak to your doctor? Rest up!!

Supa - I think they advise to take pre conception vitamins for at least a month before trying. I had only just started on the normal pregnancy ones. However with M, she was unplanned, so I didnt start taking any vitamins till 6/7 wks. Glad you & MD had a good time!

Clare - What is going on in your area!? Are you close to the city?

Hannah has all 4 eye teeth trying to come through. She's ok until she can't have her own way, and then it's on for young and old. Instead of getting upset though, i just try and make her laugh. Usually works out ok.
