Trill that is mega-scary with the bleeding, I know all too well the feeling of being alone at home and wondering if things are about to go pear-shaped in a big way. Do you have a neighbour close enough to call if you need help in a hurry? Glad it's finished now, soooo hope it was just a once-off after the Mirena coming out...if it were me I'd be ringing the gyno for a chat just so you have instructions on what to do next time if it happens again!!
Clare - OMG about the gunshots. See I have a theory. It's because that victorian underworld crime show's been on the teev - it kind of legitimises that sort of behaviour in a whole lot of low-lives minds, kwim? Makes it sexy to be a low-life criminal. All the more reason for you to manifest your dream home NOW!!! xxx
Noni - WTG with all those changes, obviously you feel a lot more like you're in control now.
GREAT news about Mbear's little boy, so happy for her!!!
Jazah, great idea about watching Borat, either that or i'll find something else funny for the teev tonight. Don't feel depressed yet though (hurrah) BUT I did have a run in at the supermarket with a grandma who PUSHED IN in front of me. I really wanted to say HEY I JUST HAD CHEMO so that's why I went to get a trolley because I really CAN'T CARRY this small basket of groceries to my car I hope you sleep well tonight you selfish old B!tch. But instead I went to the next checkout and had the satisfaction of beating her thru (because I really didn't have many things) so I whizzed out past her with my trolley and said "Still made it out before you, GRANDMA" and she was like, "Awwwww SHADDDUP!" PMSL. So there you go, how chemotherapy turned an otherwise nice person into a shopping centre harpy in less than a week!!!
-
ROFL MD, that would have been funny to see. Its Saturday, so its New Tricks and The Bill for me tonight on the tv LOL. I love my brit TV - silent witness last night and then new tricks and The Bill. Then tuesday night is Time Team at 6pm.
-
Noni well done on the bargin bassinet!!! Sounds like Miss A is doing great.
Trill glad AF has eased up, fingers crossed next month is back to normal.
MD pmsl at your shopping antics.
Supa I think they say start Elevit 3 months prior TTC.
Arte how did the GTT go?
PAP I cant believe your due soon. Have you found that second time round pg goes so quickly?
A huge big hello to everyone else, I cant keep up lol.
Got the house all tidy today so tomorrow we have nothing to do, think we might go for a picnic so L can run around. Hopefully it isn't to cold. L put himself to bed at 7pm tonight, I think he is coming down with a cold, DH had it last week and I am getting it today. I am off to make the most of him being in bed tho.
-
MD- u r so funny. That shopping epic made me laugh. Bet ya thru grandma! Lol. Reminds me of adam sandler film....
Does anyone know when they like 2 do c-sections? Is it 37 weeks? MD-what weeks were u at again when they did yours?
AFM-stayed up to read the 3rd twilight book. Finally finished, 1 book to go + I will have my life back + T will have a mum again.
-
grrrr. wrote a post and it got lost in the big bad world of the web. ppfft.
*of course it was the BEST post eva* LOL!
MD: Awesome work on the nanna antics. i would have loved to have seen you go one further and do a moonwalk past her...
Supa: taking them the cycle prior to TTC is cool enough me thinks. although if you are like me and take AGES to fall then i recommend going for a straight folate (only $3 a packet) and then once you get the BFP switch to elevit or the like...JMO of course!
Oz: you know what's the best about going out after you clean the house? coming home to it...ahhhhh.....
Sherie: i LOVE (read: lust) after the guy with black hair in silent witness. he floats my boat LOL!
as for the bleeding. scary scary. but honest, i reckon it's a clean out after the mirena. seems to be pretty consistent with the treatment me thinks. the body has to purge it one way or another and in the dealings with endo it is soo much better for it to be released. but yeah, check how next cycle pans, and if it is the same then i would get the bells and whistles out and drive to the GYN.
JaZ: we too are on the eye tooth train. they seem to come and then disappear again. not to mention that Leila then chomps down on her finger .
AFM: we are all good here. bummed that yet again we didnt get the house we had been chasing. advertised at 540+ sold for 655. morons. jealous. cranky. over it.
BUT the days are glorious and we went and saw the john bracks exhibition yesterday. leila loved the paintings of the schoolyard shots with the kids and we reckon that one of the paintings 'the car' has leila in a past life in it...no we are not kidding! people in the cafe even came up to us and commented on the likeness!
-
T just woke crying and calling out dada.. Hee. Every morning he gets up + preps her milk. Once she has her milk she is happy + wants to watch cartoons. By then I am awake roll over grab my phone + log in to BB.where is everyone?
Oh I am so excited for Mbear! Its so nice she has a boy now to complete the family xx.
-
Well Clare, forget the house hun, just buy yourself some art instead! LOL I like your 'purge' theory of health.
Supa, I think by their calculations I was nearly 39 weeks but by mine we were actually less than 38...in the end it didn't matter, she was about to come out anyway (I was having measurable contractions while the nurse was filling out the paperwork before I went into surgery LOL). I understand you can negotiate...I could've asked to wait another week or two but then you risk going into labour and it turning into an emergency CS involving having to wait for anaesthetists & surgeons to arrive in the middle of the night.
Sherie - I love Brit telly too. But have been avoiding the murder-mystery ones of late - like to keep my viewing light at the moment. We recently watched the 1st series of Hamish Macbeth on DVD from the library - hilarious after about 2 episodes when I could finally understand the brogue! Last night I watched Filth - it was great. I loved her funky glasses & hats best of all. Her hubby is the guy who does Wallace in Wallace & Grommit.
Katie did you end up going out for a picnic?
Missy E went off to FDC a bit snotty today, she's had the lurgy in a big way - quite funny because she projectile sneezes and then has no idea what to do with the bucket of slime hanging off her face, just stands there freaking out. I keep reading the sheet they gave me at the hospital which says 'stay away from ppl with coughs and colds'. HAHAHA. So I'm playing paranoid mummy this week. Am trying to teach her to put her hand over her mouth when she coughs...anyone else's know how to do this yet? So far she just stares at me like I'm mad. LOL
New Missy E trick - says her own name....!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Except it sounds like Bissie, (cos we call her Lisbeth). But cute as cute, because of the listhp.
Ok, well that's if for me today, I'm off to plan a middle eastern party for DD1 - got to do the invitations. We're going to pull all the furniture out of the loungeroom and just have rugs and cushions & a low table - there will be belly dancing, and (pretend) henna tattooing, and turkish delight, and probably a screening of Cheetah girls which is bollywood not bellydancing but I dont' think anyone will mind!! Am I mad or what??! LOL
-
hi girls!
hmmm, not sure if i should mention this to the mods or not...but my thread subs to this one isnt appearing in my user profile....here i was thinking no one had been posting...i'll keep an eye on it today and tomorrow and see how it pans...
SupaB: ha ha! i think we are pretty similar! DH gets up to DD in the morning too! they have a good hour or so together and then DD comes down the hall to 'wake' mumma up. usually i am already awake i love listening to their morning rituals.
MD: i had to have a giggle at your Art comment. cause you wouldnt beleive it but i have been trying the idea out on DH!!! so funny! unfortunately we have mutual friends that are art dealers and curators and have told us that it is unwise, as the scene here in australia is very inward and nepotistic...but hey. at least the walls would look good.
that said, we are still feeling the burn of not buying this jeffrey smart etching that we saw for sale a few years back for $3000. it now has a value near $15,000. i KNEW it was a good 'un, but DH baulked at the last minute (yes, yes, we were impoverished students about to fly out to fiji for 3 years, and yes, we had no home or belongings, and this was our entire life savings...mostly borrowed BUT!!! LOL!).
i LURVE the middle eastern theme! that is way cool!! are you raiding a belly dance shop for all things glitter and bells? or just the wardrobe...surely you have some gorgeous pieces??? need incense too and maybe steal the neighbours cat (as long as it is some sort of oriental...for added effect ya know...). oh and a camel.
oooh i have never seen filth...is it on normal telly?
AFM: all good here. not much to report. DH is totally depressed about the house issue. i think he wants to be able to provide this for his family and is feeling less than good about it. not sure how to placate him and make him know that we are totally happy with whatever happens. any ideas?
-
MD that party sounds like great fun! I watched Filth last night too and loved it! Especially when he pointed out the acronym for Clean Up National TV ROFL!!!! Gee it made me laugh. I love the heavy brogue in Hamish Macbeth. And I thought Wallace's voice sounded familiar too - Alun Armstrong is in New Tricks as well. You should watch the Monarch of the Glen reruns too on ABC on the Friday, it's very light viewing. As for the lurgie, just make sure you wash your hands really well and get some of the dettol hand cleaner stuff too.
Clare, that would be uncanny to see a pic like that. You should try to find out where he got the inspiration for it from. Bugger about the house, but don't be jealous of the repayments on it. It's madness that some people just lose all rational thought at auctions.
I guess you aren't picnicing today Oz?
Not much happening here, miserable weather so can't hang out the washing I did yesterday. Alister is getting his last eye tooth and gee it's giving him trouble. The other three were fine but this one is a bugger for him. Usually tantrums and stuff too. He's doing some really funny and quirky stuff too atm.
-
Howdy ladies,
MD that is an awesome party theme. How cute at E saying her name.
Clare bummer about the house, your perfect home will come your way i am sure.
Its very quiet in here today.
AFM no picnic yesterday, was a nice day but I have a cold (thanks heaps DH). We went and had a look at the shops then did loads of nothing. Logan threw the biggest tantrum yesterday morning (about nothing) and all I could do was laugh, it was sort of cute. Mind you if it had of been in public I am betting it wouldnt have been cute lol. I am not sure if he is frustrated at not being able to communicate or coming down with a cold but he has been pretty cranky the last few days. Better run and make some lunch.
-
Trill - already onto the hand washing (slightly OCD way). Got Aquium pumps dotted all around the house too. Just got to be careful because my cuticles have suddenly gone to sh*te (prolly from the chemo) so can't let the hands get too dry either. We did look at New Tricks the other week (the one with the dead dressed up pig in the circus caravan)! I think I could get DH onto it as well.
Clare, Filth was a once-off movie last night on ABC - it was about this chick called Mary something who basically held the BBC to ransom during the 60/70s when they were trying to introduce more liberal storylines onto the teev. She was a one-woman morality campaigner of the most indignant variety.
We already have plenty of jingly sparklies at home in the bellydancing cupboard. DD1's got a few costumes too. The guests can just accessorise with sparkly scarves, etc. We already have a non-oriental cat who I'm sure will make an appearance (as she does for all girly gatherings) but my loungeroom's a tad small for a camel. LOL
-
MD-thanx 4 that. I am glad 2 hear they flexible-to some degree. Also u r such a cool mum arranging DD1's party... Its sounds absolutely wonderful. R u the guest star belly dancer? I bet u r real good at it. Ur poor cuticles :(
Clare-yup aren't we lucky with DH's help. I couldn't survive. My DH sounds like your too re: the house + wanting to provide. Mine went into depression for the few months we didn't have a house. Needless to say he is relaxing again coz the fire wood is down to 2 logs!!! Agghhhh.
Hello to everyone else. Sorry I am such a bad bb friend. Its just I forget what to say + then have to scroll on my blackberry all the way down... No excuses I know...
-
hi girls
sorry i've been so mia. have really had my hands full with dh being away. the kids were pretty feral at my dad's place. lewis just doesn't want to sleep there, gets too hyped up i think. now he's come down with a cold so couldn't go to kindy today ggggrrrr
jimmy is really doing my head in with sleep. he's becoming increasingly harder to settle and we're really having troubles. don't know if it's just a bad stage or what?
md- dd1's party sounds awesome. what a lucky girl. will you dress them up all bollywood? are you making tabouli?
trill- i'm a fan of silent witness too. i don't mind a bit of midsomer murder here and there either.
clare- i don't blame your dh being a bit depressed about the housing situation. they're just so pricey! my dh gets really down and out when he's got no work coming up.
gypsy- we don't have sizzlers here anymore. i used to love that cheesy toast.
dh lived up to his promise and took us shopping today. bought me a new doona cover and sheet set -1000 thread count for a princess! :D and 2 pairs of jeans - none of my old ones fit me anymore  oh well, trying to embrace my new curves. apparantley thin is no longer in!
-
Rainy, bummer about J's sleeping. I was so hoping you would get an easy sleeper this time round, we deserve a break after the marathon bad sleeps we got from L and W!
MD, LOL at your shopping granny incident! Sorry about your cuticles (not sure what they are though -something to do with fingernails??) and your sore scalp. I am more sorry to hear that it is affecting your spirit, please remember when you are down that we are all thinking of you and to let us know if there is anything at all we can do to make you feel better.
Clare, the house situation sounds completely nuts. Have you considered moving a suburb or two out further and using the money you save by buying cheaper to get a little shopping trolley car? DH and I both get like your DH when we don't own our house, it was a terrible year in the company houses even though one was completely renovated and nice it still wasn't ours.
Our 20cm of snow didn't eventuate but it is cold. W is festive with his red cheeks and green boogers. It is only 3 weeks since his last cold for goodness sake.
I don't want to jinx myself, but I think the GTT went well! I took my meter with me and my BSL's were down to 7 after two hours which is perfectly normal. I am really excited because if I don't have GD this time then I can birth locally in the center 2 minutes down the road instead of travelling 2 hours to the hospital.
Getting quite worried about what to do with W while having the baby, there is no one here that I know/trust well enough to leave him with and he is too clingy to stay with anyone else anyway. Looks like DH will have to stay home with him and miss the birth. I have an allocated independent midwife who would be with me the whole time though (unless I have to go to hospital in which case it will just be random midwifes checking in). I am quite upset about it, I hate the thought of DH missing the birth but really there is no one that can look after W.
-
hey there everyone,
just jumping on quickly while Asha is entertained by the simpsons lol that and in the night garden are the only things saving my sanity some days!! Asha had her second day at daycare today, shes doing really well.. hasnt cried yet while being there (as far as theyre telling me) and has settled in really well.. there was a very sweet pic of her in the day book today playing with some toy food smiling away to herself :)
dh and i had our first major fight as a married couple on sunday.. he was complaining about the housework and it escelated (sp) to the point where he was yelling at me and i was just crying.. and even though i was getting histerical he just kept yelling.. he really lost it hes under alot of stress atm but i really cant do a better job then i am which makes it very hard.. i actually made him leave the house, i started packing up stuff for myself and asha but then decided he should be the one to leave.. at that point he broke down completely begging me not to make him leave us but i insisted he did because i needed time to think.. hes back now and things are going ok.. i told him he could come home after a few hours mostly just because i was worried about Asha who unfortunately witnessed the whole thing  .. i feel like such a bad mum breaking down like that infront of her but i just couldnt help it.. shes been a little sensitive she didnt want to sleep on her own last night and i let her come in with us.. not sure if that was the right thing to do or not but ill be going back to normal routine tonight.. she was fine at school today too which is a good sign.. its really hard now tho coz even though he said hes sorry etc etc i just feel like im not good enough for him and that my best efforts arent good enough.. ahhh well enough winging.. good to get it out tho...
arte - my fingers are crossed for you with your gtt results!! mine came back ok this time eventho i had gd with Asha hope things go the same way for you!!
rainy - hope the kids settle for you soon and Jimmy starts sleeping better!! well done on the shopping!!
md - that party sure does sound like fun!!! WTG!
katie - hope you all get better soon :)
hi to everyone else better be off to start on dinner so i dont feel completely useless *sigh*
-
Rainy - thin was *never* in - not in my universe anyway!! At least you've got the bedlinen you deserve!! Re the party, I will accessorise the girls to look sorta middle eastern. We will have *pretend* middle eastern food (real m/e food's pretty darn time consuming) so dips like baba ganoush, hummous, beetroot dip, and "koftas" (chevapchis threaded onto sticks and served with ready made tzatziki), fetta triangles (from the freezer section), tabouli (from the f&v shop)...ready made!!! LOL. Might whip up a lassi and chuck a bit of cardamom in it - minimum effort - maximum impact. It's all in the delivery, ladies!
Arte you got me thinking re the cuticles. It's the bit of skin just around the fingienails. BTW I like your idea of Clare's shopping trolley car. Not sure what you mean but it sounds cute!! LOL at Will's festive appearance...nearly time for Christmas in July! LOL Re your birthing arrangements - could you look at hiring a nanny or babysitter who could come to the house and look after W a few times while you are there, and then get them to look after him there when it all happens? Or could you get a family member to meet DH at the birthing centre to keep W entertained for the hour or so that you're in active pushing stage so that DH can look after W while you're in early labour but then still be there when bub is born? Fingies crossed re your GTT results!!
ETA - Noni big hugs - your fight sounds absolutely horrible and I bet you were scared as well as devastated. Now might be a good time to contact Relationships Australia or Centacare to find out about some couple counselling - it sounds like M might need some tips on how to handle his stress so he's not taking it out on you guys, kwim?
-
Changed my mind and can't figure out how to delete a post while on my phone..
-
Thanx md.. I think things will be ok I don't think he really ment it im just a dweller which makes it harder
-
Noni, I have had the housework fight many a time. It never changes. I try my best and I guess I could do more but DH and I have different opinions on how clean clean is - his mother keeps her house spotless and I think he expects the same (even though he says he doesn't). It is very frustrating and we have had a heap of fights about it, to the point of nearly breaking up. It is sometimes in front of W too.
MD, not much chance of getting anyone to look after W for a practice, I don't trust strangers with him and he won't go to bed for anyone but me. We are working on getting him to sleep for DH, so far it has been a week and he is starting to accept DH in the room without twigging out. The only real chance of DH being there is if I can go to the local birthing center and it happens overnight - there is a lady down the road that could come for a couple of hours if he was asleep. My mum would probably come, but she lives two hours away and works nights, and DH doesn't want her to look after W (probably because I wouldn't let his parents look after him lol)
I am starting to feel like I have been overmedicating W when he is sick, this morning he said "mum get one medicine, make William feel better"
-
Noni - hugs my sweet, soundslike one of those fights we all have over one thing or another... hope the storm has passed now... also agree with MD that it is never to early to get some counselling if you need it... better tonip it in the bud, esp as things will get more stressful around the house soon.
MD - how are you doing my dear? i am sorry you are suffering side effects... but good you have one round down! when is the next treatment... anyway i know you dont want to post about it in here so i will take my q's elsewhere LOL! how are the party preps going? sounds wonderful.
Sherie - the bleeding sounds so scary and awful. were you exhausted after? i hope it was the effects of the mirena removal - sorry i dont know much about these things... i hope next cycle is a better one.
Arte - i posted in your other thread re W during the labour. it is a dilemma. would be good if your mum could come when you are in labour so she is at least there when it is all over and she can spend some time with W - I am lining up mum to come and spend time with N - partly to make him feel super special but also so DH can have some time with the nb to bond etc. i still want hmto be able to have that special time with this baby - the 1st bath etc - and also to be in hospital to support me. if we dont have someone here to help with bed routine etc DH would have to go home at 5ish from the hosp and not come back. this way we can have some time in the evenings as well - when there is no one else allowed at the hospital. i am thinking i wont stay the full allowable time this time though, but will play it by ear and see how things go.
Rainy - so sorry J isnt a good sleeper. i agree you deserve a good one. i am hoping the nb will be better than N! you are doing so well. Bummer he missed kindy yest, canyou take hima diff day? btw how is the teething necklace going? i am thinking of getting one for N - and possibly one for the nb as well.
-
hi girls
pap- i think the teething necklace is a cracker! we've def noticed a difference. dh - who is the biggest 'non-believer' actually goes and gets it and puts it on lewis- so it's converted him! :) we got ours from inspired by finn.
lewis is going to kindy on friday if he's feeling better.
arte- sorry to hear about your dilemma. do you leave the house when dh puts w to bed? we thought lewis would never sleep for anyone else but when he stayed with dad he slept for him and slept through the night. unbelievable!
md- ooohhh i love tabouli.i wish someone had told me thin wasn't in 10 years ago- would've saved me a lot of angst. also would mean i wouldn't have a cupboard full of useless size 8 and 10 clothes. oh well,i'm just hoping the op-shop made lots of money out of the tonnes of skinny clothes i dropped off! :)
noni- we've had a couple of cracker blues too. a massive one when i was pg with lewis. not good! hope you're doing ok today.
sherie-how are you feeling now?
-
thanks Rainy - will def be investing in the necklaces. i thought i would have probs convincing dh but he was all for it. i will look at inspired by flynn too.
i agree with you re the sleep - N is so much better for others and my mum always asks me to make sure he knows i have gone out if she is putting him down, he calls out for me or dh if we are home but if we are out and then she baths him or whatever he seems ot go to sleep better - and the little bugger seems to sleep better when he knows i am not there to go to him...
-
pap- i can't believe you're nearly 35weeks!!! are you excited? have you got a definite name sorted? have you been getting accupunctured?
-
I KNOW!!! It feels like suddenly I am right near the end! I am very excited - I cant wait to meet this little one... yep we have name sorted... and no I am not telling LOL!!
I am going back to acupuncture next week - body prep etc, i am a little nervous to do too much pre labour stuff for some reason... but i want to have acu and today i am starting RLT and will do EPO from next week. I finish work next thu (yeee haaaa) so i will REALLY get into it then i am sure...
-
i can't wait to hear your birth announcement, who is doing your birth announcement? have you got someone lined up?
-
i havent lined anyone up yet... last time DH logged on as me and did it... will ask if he wants to do that or get one of you girls to do it for me...
-
thanx for all the kind words :) its good to know that even though im not around here much anymore if i need it theres always some lovely supportive ladies to make me feel better :)
had swimming today, it was good mums gonna be getting in the pool with her soon tho coz my swimmers are gettin too small haha and i refuse to buy more since im 31wks pregnant and all haha.. Ashas been in a horrible distructive mood all day, shes due to get out of bed soon tho hopefully the sleep has done her some good!
oh wow pap!!! and here i was thinking i was getting close!!
rainy - i wanted a teething necklace do u think its a waste getting it now tho? since Ash already has most her teeth?
-
noni- i think you should still get a necklace- they'll be good for her molars and you can reuse it on your new little man- plus they look super cute. make sure you get a smooth stoned light coloured one though.there's a few dodgy ones around. i can highly recommend inspired by finn.
pap- are you going to be sending out a group text message? have you still got my phone number? ;) ;)
-
hey there
yep i will send a group text i am sure - i dont have anyone mobile so if you want me to text you PM me with it.
bit stressed atm trying to get everything done and work... and not feeling like the brain is on top of things.this means i will be on BB more as i try to escape/deny all i have to do.
was a bit norty yest and took a couple of hrs off and went shopping... i just dont feel like i am prepared for baby yet. anyway went to Country road sale and boight heaps of baby stuff and gorgeous things for N - was meant to be getting new PJs etc fo rme but the store i went to didnt stock - so of course kids stuff it was!! then went to DJs and got a whole heap of baby clothes and basics on sale and also a new iron and some new flannel sheets for N... was lots of fun, but the legs were a rather swollen at the end of that! i think nesting is kicking in as well as can be for the non goddess amongst us - i have a desire to put all Ns toys in boxes and buy a label machine and label them. after they have all been washed etc... and of course i am planning a big cook up soon...
N is sleeping a lot better these days - how are all the others doing? the bed has made a big improvement... though he still wakes about 3 times... yes ia m trying to avoid going to sleep school i admit it!
-
PP LOL at you just buying baby things instead - that's something I would do too. It is really exciting that you are so close now, when you think about it you could only have 4 weeks left if you go a week early again (but totally not jinxing you LOL). I would love to get a group txt - #0428 184 372. Your DH did such a lovely annoucement last time. I am gagging to get to wagga next week to go to Myer LOL.
G, bugger about him getting sick. IKWYM about not sleeping when away from home. Alister is like that too unless I nurse him or go to bed with him. I hope it is just a stage Jimmy is going through. Have you tried some brauers' Colic and teething relief? It worked wonders for us when Alister was going through that. WooHoo on the shopping spree too.
Noni, don't worry about the fight  We usually have a blow up too if DH is really run down and overtired and stressed about work. And it really hurts when things get said in the heat of the moment and you do question yourself, but it's always best to have the blow up and then sort it out rather than nothing ever being said at all kwim?
Arte, I haven't seen your other thread, so I don't know what has been suggested to you already, but have you thought about just having him at the birth? He is a very clever little boy and I don't think he would be scared or upset by it at all and it's a way to have your DH there too so long as you do have that extra person who can take care of W when the time comes that you don't want him there or that you feel he needs support too. But then if you feel that you wouldn't be comfortable having him there then it would be best to start looking for someone that can have him till your Mum can have him.
AFM, well I think Alister must have inherrited Spider monkey genes somewhere along the way because the past few days he has conquered EVERYTHING in this house that can be climbed on! He can get in and out of his cot if 2 seconds flat, so that makes sleep time a bundle of fun now  even when he's wearing his sleeping bag he can still get in and out. He was climbing up the bookshelf the other day too - luckily its so big and heavy it would never tip but OMG it's relentless! And his speech is just amazing now too, I can't get over what he comes out with now. He loves to talk along with ads, like the one for healthy choice meals - 'take the car' etc. But even though it's like having 10 toddlers at times, it's still good kwim because that's when his personality really shines through the most. And yesterday I was having a huge clean out of my room getting stuff ready to take to vinnies and I had the bigger stroller out and I could hear "mum, stuck!" over and over and I went out and here he is, in the bottom of the stroller in the underbasket. I took a pic I will load on FB, it was hilarious.
I feel OK now that AF has gone, but yeah, I did feel really really tied for the duration. I got some iron tablets to take too, but the blooming things have me blocked up good and proper LOL, always the way
And the big excitement is that DH's sister is getting married on the October long weekend so now I have to find two flower girl dresses and OMG that's a bigger rort than wedding dresses!!! But there are some lovely ones from the US that aren't too badly priced, so I'm going to see if I can get them locally just to try on etc as I'm a bit hesitant about buying that sort of thing from OS kwim?
-
Trill, I keep going over care arrangements in my head for the birth but nothing works. If I don't get GD then I think we can get my cousin up to look after W for the business end couple of hours, I will just have to put up with her overly chatty 4 year old.
If I have GD and have to go to the hospital 2 hours away then we are stuffed. W can't come, he freaked out when the midwife took my blood pressure yelling 'get it off' over and over lol. He wouldn't be any good seeing me in pain and DH would spend all the time trying to entertain him anyway. Mum can't look after W because DH won't agree to it, he doesn't think she will treat him well enough. He won't go to sleep for anyone and I think would get unconsolably upset after a few hours without DH or myself. And even if DH would agree for mum to look after W for a few hours, she works nights so there is a fair chance she wouldn't even be at home when we needed to go. At this point it all comes down to whether or not I get GD and if I can birth at the local centre or have to go to hospital as to DH being there. Sorry for the big rant, it is circling in my head and is sooo frustrating. Plus if I have GD I will probably have to go down to mums from 38 weeks to have monitoring at the hospital every second day, with no one to watch W and DH over 2 hours away. Yay. I hate living so far away from family that W doesn't have a good enough relationship with any of them that he can be left with them.
Isn't it amazing the stuff they can come out with! Last night W saw the pajamas coming and declared "not going sleep!" lol He has started sitting by himself 'reading' his books, looking at the pictures and trying to recite the story.
MD, forgot to mention the sympathy on the dinner time tanties. Happening here too. I don't think it is any coincidence that they started up again right when DH started coming to bed with us. Now the second we sit down to dinner he is off his chair crying and tugging at me saying 'mum come, mum pick William up, cuddle mum....' it is obvious he wants my exclusive attention. I cracked it last night and strapped him in to his booster seat, he can bloody well sit there and squawk instead of hanging off me.
TBH I am getting tired of having such a clingy kid. Do you think it is the gentle parenting things like co-sleeping etc that have made him this way, or that I am a SAHM and he is always in my care so is super dependent on me? It is driving me mental.
Sorry for all the complaining. Probably getting to me more because W is waking hourly again because of his cold and I am down to one pair of pants that I can do up.

wow trill - the girls will be gorgeous flower girls i am sure.. are the boys page boys? how cute! do they stock the dresses here so they can try them on? i bet they are excited!
Arte - hugs to you, you sound so stressed. When will you find out about the GD, it sounds to me that when that uncertainty is removed you can plan a little more. It does sound like W is very clingy, i dont know how you put up with it, N gts like that sometimes but it is rare... he def favours me and calls out to me but not in such a full on way all the time. i do think you have time to get him more accepting of dh but equally it is prob his personality etc. i dont think it is a gentle parenting thing - we also do a lot of co sleeping etc - maybe it is bc you spend so much time 1:1 with him with less others around? or just a stage/his personality etc?. ummm - i dont know LOL!!! i must say i am impressed even 1 pair of pants still does up - i could not have fitted any of mine at 26 wks! there is no way N could watch me birth either - he also freaks out if he sees a dr touch me... and iw ould be too worried about him getting upset seeing me in pain, unable to cuddle him etc. N also does that with the books - in fact he has memorised a few and can 'read' them himself - i can leave words out and he will say them... amazing!

Thanks PAP. My first GD test came back o.k, but I have to have another at 32 and 34 weeks. I have been monitoring at home though and they are creeping up so I suspect that it will happen eventually. It is cute with the books isn't it - W also fills in the gaps - he doesn't even need the book around to recite them lol. He learns them so quickly too, he got a couple of new books and by the next day he was filling in gaps!

 Arte. Nothing you have done has 'made' him this way, some kids are just more clingy than others and it is very draining on you to deal with 24/7. I think it might be time though to start to introduce him to other people in a gentle way so that there is someone you know you can get to look after him if you need to - even if there was an emergency of some sort you may need someone other than yourself and your DH to care for him for a little while kwim? maybe just an hour here or there with your Mum so she can get to know him better so she can look after him better. It would also help him to understand that Mum doesn't have to be the only person who does things for him, that someone else can read a book or get him something to eat just as good as you do. It doesn't mean you have to force him out of his comfort zone but it will help to teach him a bit of independence too because it wont be much longer and you will have a newborn that is going to take up a fair percentage of your time and he might struggle with that if he isn't a little acustomed to having other people around him and helping him. It can end up with you in tears not knowing how to divide your time effectively and feeling helpless because you need to feed/settle/bath the baby etc at the same time as W wants something done, so it's best that you get a head start on that now. Even if it is just DH taking more of a role to do things with him in preparation, like "Let Dad help you/read to you/get you something to eat because Mum needs to do xyz" it will be a start.
PP, they are really excited. It's only the big 3 though - I daren't think of what Alister would do LOL. he's too young anyway IMO. I gave up on the dress search and think I will just stick to looking in the shops as I think it will be far too big a headache LOL.

LOL trill with your little monkey i can imagine he woudl entertain them all!!! i saw a 9 month old in a wedding party recently - an older boy pushed him down the aisle in a radio flyer - he LOVED it!!
Arte - i agree with trill, she put it so much better than me - of course you didnt 'make' him this way - he just LOVES you!
-
Thanks Trill. Unfortunately mum is over two hours away so the chance for her to actually look after him only comes up every 6 weeks or so when we go down, and DH has firmly said that he doesn't want her to look after W anyway (she does really care about him but isn't really a small child kind of person iykwim, can be a bit cold and DH thinks that W won't compete with her 8 dogs for her attention). There is no one local that we know/trust well enough. He is happy enough for DH to look after him apart from bed time and apparently this new dinner time problem.
Anyhow, I should stop feeling sorry for myself, there are plenty of people with far greater problems.

trill- do they have flower girl dresses at myer? how exciting for the girls. are you going to put pretty little flowers in their hair? ooohhhhh i need a girl!
pap- i loooove country road stuff, you lucky duck!
arte- no honey it is nothing you've done. i've done the whole gentle parenting thing too remember- co-slept, bfed to sleep, sahm too and lewis is not clingy at all,so i think it's just the way w is iykwim?
trill is right in that w needs to learn that other people care about him too. i can't tell you enough how stressful the 'torn' feeling is. i'm only just getting more comfortable and competent at the juggling act...it's taken me 3 months and i have to say that lewis has been amazing about jimmy, i couldn't have asked for a better reaction.
just wanted to add- preggo girls- if you're worried at all about 'sharing the love' b/w the 2...or somehow not feeling the same way about your second child, let me reassure how absolutely besotted i have become with jimmy. i'm soooo in love with him. ihave to admit, i was a little worried when i was pg that i couldn't possibly love him as much as i love lewis...but i need not have worried. your heart just opens up more and you just adore them :)

Hi girls!
Arte: wow, sounds like a pretty stressful time for you babe. i second PP and dont believe that it is the gentle parenting or the co-sleeping. W is a really unique, clued in little man and i just believe that because he is really advanced in comprehension and communication he has a much stronger sense of relationships. to him, you are his world, you are what makes it turn and i guess it must be tough for him to see that you are also making the world turn in aspects that are separate to his life. i just think that he is a little bit ahead of our bubs and is beginning to understand that you are a separate person and it probably freaks him out a bit. maybe...
as for the care thing, that is tough babe. we are lucky to have Leila's godmother living across the road from the birth centre (luckily as we dont have any other family around!). but honestly, it is something that i think your DH really needs to get cracking on. we cant have you stressing about W while in labour!! sending big hugs
Sherie: wow! that's not much notice LOL! oooh they are going to be soo gorgeous!
PP: nest nest nest!!! it's so funny how it just takes hold huh?! i remember falling into a bucket of tears when i was around that stage, cause DH went to have a cup of tea BEFORE putting the wardrobe in the right position!! LOL!
hhmm forgotten everything now...
AFM: all good. made a duruka curry last night. yum yum. other than that nothing much to report.

Arte - not sure what to say that hasn't already been said. Fingers crosssed you don't get GD as that sounds like it will be a bit easier.
Well I coslept with K for the first time the other night. Had been up and down for 1.5 hours trying to get her back to sleep (she would do 20 minutes then wake again) and ended up just taking her into the spare room. She tried to take off her sleeping bag so I helped her with that, then just curled up under the covers. She didn't even need to be touching me, just popped her head up a couple of times to make sure I was still there. Luckily she did a big sleep in to make up for the extra wake time!!
And Arte, she is super clingy a lot of the time and as above we've only coslept once and I'm not a SAHM. In the evenings she has to sit on the bench while we do dinner, refuses to be on the floor. We are having all sorts of battles with tea time at the moment, refuses to get into her chair at all, or gets in and won't even look at her dinner. We've given up on the tray and pushed the chair closer to the table which helps, we've also started eating without her a couple of times and let her come to us which also seems to help.
PAP - woohoo on finishing up next week!!
Trill - exciting news on the family wedding!
Noni - hope everything is going better at home. Glad that the evening routine is helping Asha.
We are in Canberra for the weekend - mum has arranged professional photos on Friday of her 5 girls. I think DH is looking forward to the break! I'm looking forward to hitting DJ's and Myer with the sales!!
-
oohhh cally- what are you going to buy from the sales?
clare- are you still on the house hunting mission or giving it a break for a while?
katie- i've been meaning to ask you, what do you think of the close carrier so far. i suppose it's hard to judge without a newborn to pop in it yet!
have you bought sarah blasko's new album?
i just popped a couple of new pics of hairy jimmy on fb
