I will happily pay $12 for a haircut for him because I think he would look like a meathead with it shaved LOL, he just has that crappy sort of hair that would stick up everywhere with a shave. But then I book all 5 of us (me and the kids) in with my regular hairdresser and it's $85 for all of us and I usually get a blowdry too.

I was thinking the other day that buy the time my eldest two were this age I had a newborn again and I just though to myself "no way known could I do that again with Alister being the handful that he is ATM" I would go mental I reckon. I said to MIL the other day when they were over for dinner after she commented about him being so active and full on "If he had of been the first, he would have been an only child" LOL, but then I guess I wouldnt' know any better would I?

Trill - Funny you should say that about Alister, I was thinking about this the other day too. People always commented how "easy" DD1 was but maybe she saved it all up for me - some days her particular brand of needing every ounce of my personal energy exceeded my ability to cope. There is *no way* I could've added another child to the mix before DD1 went to kindy. Missy E has been far 'easier' in comparison, it's like she's happier to just be in her personal space than DD1 was, ITMS. In some ways she's more demanding but in others it's much easier to meet those demands. Funny, how different they each are, isn't it? Having a child is like the biggest randommest lottery in life, LOL!
We have a long weekend here, but DH is on his last day of shift today, so nothing really planned. We have to weed the vege garden though at some stage. But otherwise it's too wet to do much really, not that that's a bad thing, but when it's wet it means that there is work to be done on the farm. We might sow some more crop now we've had more rain, so DH would be busy doing that, plus we are supposed to be shearing on Tuesday and Wednesday, but I think that will be put off for a week now.
The girls could be quite a handful, they were very active and into everything at this age too, but Alister adds that typical boyish "like a bull at a gate" enthusiasm too so even though he probably isn't a great deal different in a lot of ways to what the girls were like, it just seems 10 times worse as he does things that they NEVER did. But the girls grew out of it and I think he will too, but he will still be a very rough and tumble little boy, more than what Lindsay ever was as Lindsay was, and still is, a lot more cautious about things and his pace was a lot slower. I can see Alister being the one who has a million trips to the ED before he even hits his teens LOL.
not much going on here for long weekend. just got back from doing supermarket shop, will prob spend all arfternoon cleaning the house. tomorrow might take lewis to a maze up the road for something to do..all he wants to do is ride his dirtbike though...
jimmy is a more high-needs baby than lewis....prob would've been easier if they'd swapped their order lol...ah well, we're just rolling with it.

Its not the first time we have shaved L's head, normally we do it after DH does his. Yesterday I just gave him some food while I did it. He doesn't sit still the whole time but long enough to do an ok job lol.
Trillian L looks like a meathead but I figure it is ok since DH is bit of a meathead lol. What a great deal you get on haircuts.

Dh is having a boys weekend at our place this weekend so I didn't get much sleep last night. Its a lovely sunny day but pretty cool, think I might go and lay in the sun for a while.
OMG Rainy that dirtbike is so cool! I would never see W again if he had something like that! DH is already talking about the grass kart he is going to get in a couple of years. ATM our rainy day thing is to watch dune buggies and 'landgrobers' (landrovers) on you tube. It is quite funny, a clip has about 30 seconds to impress him or he says "too boring, find a better one!" lol He is so into boy things like that.
Clare, I have been thinking lately how much easier life is with a bigger toddler. He can do so much more for himself now, he gets his own shoes on (50/50 of getting it right lol), puts his washing/nappies in the laundry, gets things when I ask etc, just generally helpful. We have a lovely routine which works for everyone. And now we are about to throw a new baby into the mix LMAO.
MD, I guess I will have to convince DH to allow mum to watch W, it is the only possible way for it to work. Hope you are feeling better. That is a huge bummer about having to shift the party, but I am sure that H will barely remember the postponement as soon as her friends start arriving. How is she doing at her new school?

seriously i am getting so so so so so so sos so excited to meet my littly!! i even shopped up a storm at seed this morning (big sale on) to prove it LOL! i am in a nesting phase though - a lot of cooking going on (does anyone remember my quiche disaster about this time last preg!??), sorting through baby stuff to get washing etc etc etc. i am secretly thinking i wont make it to 40 wks, wel not so secretly LOL! though i have no reason whatsoever asides from wishful thinking to think that - i'd love a 38.5 wker or something like that...

MD-too funny-i prepared soil yest ready for my new purchases-i got parsley italian + scrunchy one, baby spinach, rosemary. + pea straw. On our way 2 get cw manure lol. DH is telling me there is no way he is crushing up patties....he would rather pay $10 than get his ffice hands dirty. Lol.

Okay...Hi girls...Sorry for being so slack on here. I keep meaning to catch up and read the posts but they get away from me so quickly. I've just spent 2 hours catching up on them all and although I can't remember much I am thinking of you all in your own ways. I usually also have a hard time trying to figure out what to say
Selfish a bit here but just to catch you all up on us (apart from fb statuses which is a big addiction for me)
Teething - S seems to be getting ready to cut the 2yr molars. Shes still been chewing her fingers heaps and drooling massive amounts since Fiji. Not too bad apart from the odd day of unsettledness and tantys.
Sleeping - She goes down in her cot at 7pm and we don't let her out until after 6am. If we hear her then before we ignore her and she usually drifts back to sleep. I'm trying to push her back to later and am currently at 6.22am (yep, spot on most mornings). She stays in her bed and although she chatters away before drifting off I think she would stay in the bed even if i moved her to a toddler bed. I'm tossing up about getting her a big girl bed but am happy how things are going at the moment and seeing as I have no need for the cot back as yet, I'll just keep on keeping on. Her day naps are fun tho, she will crack mini tantys until drifting off to sleep but then will have min 1.5-2hours naps.
Eating - is a PITA. Mainly dinner time, she doesn't seem all that interested in different things so am persevering with that. Shes fine with cheese, yoghurts and fruits but savoury meals are a hassle to get into her.
Day care - found her an awesome family day care mum who S loves. She goes two days a week and really looks forward to it. After the first day she knew exactly what to do to get ready for lunch and then carried her plate over to the bin for scraps and popped her plate in the sink. Then headed to the wash basin to get her hands washed. I am constantly amazed at how much they absorb.
Talking - Shes got a couple of basic words, but seems to have good comprehension so I'm not too worried. The longer it takes her to start repeating my potty mouth the better I think
2nd birthday parties - Anyone started thinking about this one? I have Sarahs theme sorted and have even started getting whats needed together. I mate was talking about her daughters 2nd bday and it got me to thinking so now, of course, I can't get it out of my head. It will be ladybug themed and I'm going to make invites with wings that slide out to reveal the details. I have found some red balloons with black dots from a USA site that I want to get, plus party boxes. I have ladybug bottles of bubbles, red plates etc, little figurine thingys for the party boxes as well as stickers and decorations. I found an awesome costume on ebay in the US that I have won so she'll look so cute. I can't wait...its probably the last year that I can choose her theme so will chose a theme that I love..ahem, I mean that she loves
TTC - well we are in the 'non-prevention' stage but with DH working away it seems to be 'prevention-due-to-separation' stage instead. I think I am ready but then think that its taken me this long to get Sarah organised into a great routine etc so do I really want to disrupt that?
Anyhoo...enough about me! Please remember that even though I'm a bad bb friend, I still constantly think about you girls and hope for all the best for all your situations. Hopefully, will be back on more often.
MD: yip, we too have a long 'un of a weekend. so bummed that we couldnt go to the place we planned due to mega bookings. so stuck in stinky old 'stabby/jabby' brunswick.

Sherie: my best friend had a little girl first and she also reckons that if she had of had her son first, she may have been too exhausted to go for a second LOL! he too is like a bull at a gate. he once spent 20 minutes banging the trike against the screen door because he didnt want to reach up and pull it open with his hands...oh no, he wanted to bang the bike against it and have it richochete open...oohh the frustration he started to get! lol. in the end his big sista got up and opened it for him...tantrum ensued! LOL!
Kate: ooh the ladybug theme sounds divine! now you have me thinking of what we should do...hmmmmmmmmm.
Rainy: if you buy a pony, i am sooo there! they were showing welsh mountain ponies on better homes last night. and i told DH that he needed to buy me one. it can hang out in the backyard with the dog lol!
