Ohhh Cally, another thing I have to do, visit the accountant!!
hey everyone,
can u believe im still sick?? soooo unfair!!! this is the 5th day now!! i deffinately feel like im on th emend today but i still feel so crap!! spose its taking me a bit longer to get over being pregnant and a it low in iron.. all that work i did taking the supplements probably got me no where because of the cold now tho i spose!!! better than not taking them and getting it tho! its been soooo horrible ive been getting up at like 4am to have a hot shower just so i can stop coughing and ease the chest pain.. sinuses have been blocked and painful too.. have kept an eye on my temp tho and the highest ive got has been 37.5 so i think ive just been hit really hard with a cold!! hopefully im on the up now tho because there is only 10 days till my edd!!! im kinda excited but mostly scared haha!! dh still not 100% yet so id much rather he was since drivings still not the easiest thing for him to do.. also dhs mum has swine flue but is finishing up the tamiflu yesterday or today so a few more days i think and shed be ok.. id hate for her to miss the first visits iykwim because shes been quite sick lately with a few different things and missed alot of things with Asha and my new little neice Riley.. bubby seems to know its not the right time tho i was getting alot more pre labour etc about a week ago but thats all slowed now.. saying that i spose i could go into labour without any of that this time haha!!
off to ante natal today will be interesting to see how engaged bubby is or isnt lol.. i need to talk to them about a few things too because ive been working myself up a bit about things like ashas heart rate issues leading up to the birth and through the birth.. she had a baseline tachychardia but it just turned out normal for her.. once she was our she didnt even have it anymore.. but because they had her other traces to compare it to they let me continue to birth her naturally without too much worry just a bit of extra monitoring until she got the decels then i had to have an extra test.. i spose im worried theyre gonna hook me up to the ctg for the first time this preg in labour and hes gonna have the same thing and theyre gonna say looks like hes in distress time for a c section.. i know im being silly just cant help but worry about all the little things!!
is everyone going to the toy sale? i cant decide lol might be a bit much with the cold ive got and all might just wait n see..
sorry again for the selfish post must be getting annoying hearing me winge by now!! ill try my best for some personals next time!! hope everyones doing well tho!!
Noni, sucks that you are so sick when you are so pregnant! Whinge away, you deserve it! How is your DH now? Is Asha managing to avoid it all? Hope the midwife can ease your mind.
MD, I have been meaning to ask for ages - after all your years of Dyson envy, did it live up to expectations?? I have been a bit dissappointed with mine lately but after a bit of investigation it turns out there is a filter that has a big sticker saying to clean every 6 months and I only have a dim memory of cleaning it a long time ago. As for the neighbours uncontrolled animals, I would love to say something to her but although she is a mid 50's widow I have heard her in a bad mood and she could make a sailor blush so I really don't want to get on her bad side.
Ange, from your other thread, I would soo go to a cafe that had a good kid enclosure. The amount of times I have been looking for somewhere to eat and would love to go somewhere good but end up at McDonalds or BK because they have a playground....
Do you have to move again in the meantime? I hope not.
Clare, I have no idea what that show is but it sounds exciting! Nothing like that would ever happen here. The biggest bit of excitement around here is a half dozen horses taking themselves for a wander down the road.
PAP, I am not sure about prams either. I think I will just get a cheapy 3 wheeler second hand for using around town and stick with the stroller for the car. W hasn't used the stroller for the past couple of months, I would be surprised if he suddenly wanted to be in it when bub is here and I will have a sling for baby anyway. It is so hard to know what to do.
Lego is very popular here, we have a couple of packs of blocks and a petrol truck, and we hire the circus train from toy library every couple of cycles.
Sleeping is going o.k, he is fine with me just sitting beside the bed but we have had a couple of episodes where he wakes as soon as I try to leave the room. I was up for 2.5 hours the other night, every time I escaped he would wake and come crying after me. So now DH is doing the resettling. Seems to be working, W is doing his own controlled crying though - he tells DH to go away and lays in bed crying by himself. But it is only his tantrum cry trying to get me to come in so it is not too hard to ignore. Hopefully he starts to self settle soon when he realises I am not coming and since he doesn't like DH there. We are all very tired though and I feel bad for DH as he still has to go to work. It sucks but something has to be done before this new baby arrives.
Noni that's a bummer that you are feeling so rotten...I guess it's a good thing now for bub to come later rather than sooner, you wouldn't want to be doing labour right now. Fingers crossed you'll start feeling better asap.
No we didn't go out to the toy sale, tho I went to Target baby to check out the clearance clothes...not much luck. I should have a more concerted think about it, gotta get organised now for Christmas.
Arte - yes the Dyson is FABULOUS. We were initially disappointed until I showed DH the button you have to press to activate the turbo head...LOL now he vaccuums all the time cos he loves it. You can't complain about that LOL. Hang in there with the settling, tho it does sound like progress!! DH will be tireder still if W is not settling when baby arrives so best to soldier on now and it will pay dividends in a couple of months time .
Hey does anyone want some Girl Guide biscuits? DD1 still has over half a box to sell and it's driving me crazy sitting there full of packets tha I will have to eat if no one buys. Only pitful of being a GG mother LOL.
MM The dust is a pain right now but your floor is gonna look gorgeous when it's done!
Arte - ah yes, the sneaky dyson filter that you have to wash, we get caught out by that too. glad the resettling is still working, i'm sure it will get better soon.
Target - we only have the country version here which has nothing i liked, but I've asked my sister to grab some of the little people stuff.
Noni - glad you are slowing starting to feel better, hope bubs holds off for a little longer. How did your appt go?
Howdy all. Sorry I haven't been able to keep up this week has been chaos. As I mentioned Dh was in hospital on Monday night, he had some numbness down his left side and the GP was worried about a stroke. After a million scans and tests he has been given the all clear, they think it is a virus. He is starting to feel better now though.
I have signed DS up for family day care one day a week, he starts in two weeks. It was a really hard decision to come to as I feel like I should be looking after him IYKWIM. Hopefully he enjoys it and it gives me some rest before bub comes and then some one on one time with bub.
My midwife is coming tomorrow for my first home visit, fingers crossed my GD tests were ok. I have a feeling my iron is low though.
I am sorry for the selfish post, I wouldn't know where to start with personals. I am off to bed before I fall asleep at the computer.
Well after another non-eventful talk with Dh tonight which he fell asleep through (we have big silences in between our sentences, like trying to work out what to say without turning it into a big hoo-haa). Fair enough, we were on the downward side of it but still I am frikken ropable. I'm making this effort to make the marriage work, he's done nothing on his 'list' yet then goes and falls asleep. So I am awake and trying to get my mind of it by job hunting. Please ladies keep your fingers crossed that I, at least, get interviews if not an offer. Variety of positions, from telstra sales assistant, to cafe waitress, to furniture sales. I've got experience in all so hopefully someone takes a shine to me. Or should I say take pity on me
Anyhoo...I am so sorry to hear about everyones bad health at the moment. I'm praying extra hard that it all clears away soon. Can't remember much else going on so will leave it at that.
Oh, except to say that I put that Savannah cubbyhouse from Target on layby today. So cute!!
Wow sounds like we are all needing a big hug!
Kate - I hope you can sort things out with your DH. I hope he starts to put in more effort. As for the cubby, that cubby is awesome S will love it!
Noni - Poor thing still sick!? get better soon! & dont worry about venting, feel free we are all here to listen.
Oz - So glad that your DH's results were all good, what a relief. As for daycare, I didnt mention anything before on FB, L will LOVE it. It may take a few weeks for him to settle in but before long he will be having a good old time & you will feel much more better about it too. I was SO upset & guilty when I first put M into daycare, now I think if I was to have another bub I would keep her in care because she loves it so much. They do so much fun stuff, they sing songs, do arts & crafts, story time. Besides that just being with other kids will be good for him, I know you know all of this but just trying to make you feel better about it. If it helps I am going back to uni next wk & have had to increase M's daycare to add a half day onto Fridays for when I'm in class, and I really ummed & ahhhed about it, I too worry about whether I should spend more time with her, its not that I dont want to but I like working & I need to do uni. So one day for L, I know its a huge decision, but I'm sure you wont regret it, & when bubba comes along you will have that one day where you focus on your second child one & one & you get a bit of a rest. If things dont work out do a rainy & pull him out & put him back in when he is older & ready.
Arte - You are getting there slowly with the sleep, hang in there!!! We still have struggles with M & her sleep & her night time bottle. As for prams, I like PAP's idea of hanging off buying a new pram for now & seeing how you all go. Use the sling & like you said W is more into walking himself. See how you go, or get an el cheapo, because some of those prams are through the roof price wise!!
I went shopping on my own tonight, Rainy has corrupted me, because I ended up spending too much on clothing for M. She is better dressed than her parents, got her heaps of pumpkin patch on sale but also splured on a pair of guess jeans, jumper & top....whoops, they were having a sale though. Rainy I checked out CR, GORGEOUS stuff but I think the boys stuff is better than the girls. I can see why you spend up big in there for your boys.
Kate, I hope things get better soon. I would have been very ****ed if DH fell asleep during a conversation like that! Good luck with the job hunting.
Ozstar, I meant to say weird about your bub licking the cord! I know they play around in there but I can't imagine them in there doing things like that lol. Glad your DH is o.k. When I was preg with W I lost the center of my vision, went numb on the left side of my face/left arm and couldn't think of the correct words to finish sentences. I was terrified I was having a stroke. I had a Dr appointment that arvo anyway and they decided that it was a headache-less migraine! I thought the Dr was full of it but a quick google search agreed that you can have a migraine without a headache lol I am sure that L will love FDC, he will have a great time.
MM, I am sure M will love her extra time at daycare, sounds like she really loves it there. The local daycare here has no seperate babies room - there is a free for all from crawlers to nearly school kids which is one of the reasons I won't leave W there - he isn't the personality type to stand up for himself around bigger kids.
Better night last night, only two wake ups and DH had him back asleep within 10 minutes.
Heavy rain warning here, currently bucketing down so I guess it is yet another inside day for us. At least DH only works a half day on fridays. We finally got all our heat transfer ducting wired up yesterday, it is making a massive difference to the bedrooms, especially the spare room which was damp and freezing and is now habitable. William was thrilled when he woke up and found the electrician here - the sparky left some wire offcuts behind and W magpied them and shows them to us saying "lectrician left these wires for William" lol Maybe I should reassess his birthday present list.
I got a bargain double pram on trademe (= NZ ebay) last night for $60, will do for going for walks locally.
well appt went ok i guess.. had a ctg that was very normal which is reassuring coz ashas never were..
crappy thing is tho this time im gbs positive and am allergic to abs so we now have a chance of bub getting very sick on the way out :( why cant anything just be straight forward??
Noni, I was talking to my midwife about GBS the other day, it is not even in the national guidelines to test for it here - they only do the antibiotics thing if you actually present with any danger symptoms ie prolonged rupture of membranes, higher temp etc From what she said, it is common to be colonised with GBS, it doesn't usually cause problems and the abs are just a precaution. It is a very divided topic. Glad your CTG went well, that must be a weight off your mind.
hi girls!
wow it's been awhile!
Arte: WTG on the bargain tandem pram! soo jealous of your ducted heating....although have to say that melbourne is nowhere near as cold as canberra let alone where you guys are, so i suppose i should keep my envy in check lol!
we have never cleaned our filter...and havent had any issues...strange....now i think i will ask DH. although our model is from about 5 years ago so not sure if that is a difference...
and honest, i would love to see 6 horses wandering down my street LOL!
Oz: no doubt L will take to it like a duck to water. like MM said, it can take a couple of weeks to settle in. our tip for days where it seems all a bit overwhelming for them is to sit and play with some of their fav style toys...for leila this means the dollies or eating food. it kinda transitions them to a nice time. and always make sure that you say goodbye!
noni: bummer about the GBS news. i have no idea what it is?! so what have they said you have to do? is there anything you can do?
Katie: oohhh i would have wrung his neck!!! he is dicing with death LOL! that a job with a friendly team comes your way babe xx
i NEED to get to target...
MM: where did you go for the clothes sales?!! RUSH is a really bad police drama. LOL!
tried to watch it last night and just couldnt. will be taping episode 15 though...
what kind of flooring???
AFM: all good here. Leila had a very mild cold for a few days and we have been fairly tired from it all. 2 hourly wake-ups...
but she is on the mend and at kindy today (with quiche!!!! mmmmmm). we have been getting alot more sentences now, in both english and italian. it is very exciting!
we are still trudging around dodgy dives looking for a home. no change there. but i am increasingly tempted to just ask the realestate agent of our rental to have us sign a longer term lease. that way we can invest in some built-ins and maybe some nobo heating...it is way too cold that house.
hi everyone!
sounds like a few of us could do with some hugs, i felt that way a couple of days ago but feeling happier now...
N has a cold atm, DH has just taken him to dr just to be sure it isntanything worse - mainly bc we are worried he will make J sick. I seem to have caught it too - oh well i guess good antibodies being made for J! Aside from that all is going pretty well, bit stressed re how i will cope with the 2 of them when DH is back at work but i will cross that bridge next thursday i guess. we are off to sydney next weekend so that shld be fun. rainy - thanks so much for the outline of your day, sounds like what i will try to do but i am sure it sounds easier than i will find it!
cally if i had known you were at kingston we could have had a coffee! Clare - Santa Lucia (the italian with the red and white table cloths) has now moved to swinger hill. i am waiting to see what will open there instead!
Oz - I am sure L will enjoy FDC and it will be important fo ryou too... expect some adjustment period and then it will all be great i am sure. glad your DH is OK, sounds v scary.
Arte - W's sleeping sounds so improved - well done to yiu and DH! That is much more sustainable for you all.... how are you feeling and how are you coping being preg and with W at home with you?
Noni - hope you are feeling better. Do they have aplan what to do bc you cant have the abs? maybe they can check you again in a week if you are still preg? that would ease your mind if you dont have it anymore... how is DH? sounds like a nasty infection he had.
It was my bday yest and DH bought me an I-touch.. love it! i can check out out thread wherever i am (if they have wifi). need to master the keyboard so i can reply too without getting too frustrated. we had a fab day - went to a movie (with J, N was at creche) and then out for yummy yummy japanese lunch... so lovely!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR YESTERDAY PREPAN GLAD YOU HAD A WONDERFUL DAY. :happybirthday:

the only real plan is monitoring for bubs in the first 24hrs just making sure hes not showing signs of infection.. its a little scary but im kinda calming down about it all now.. i just go into panik mode when something might be wrong iykwim??
bubby is very quiet today hope hesjust getting ready.. i had a ctg yesterday for the same reason and all was fine.. hes still moving just seems to be sleeping alot more...
