oohhhhhh what's the J name? do tell.....
Ok Katie you can call him Jacob!!!
LOL with more J boys - we could rename sept baby and J boy buddies LOL!
how is everyone today?
clare i have been thinking about your dog run in all night, it is soooo outrageous. how is L today?
MD - hows the essay going?
MM - hope you are doing well today. i meant what i said in the other thread pls dont worry about M and her 'bullishness'.
Jaz - how are you feeling re J atm?
Sherie - how is A, and how is your mum?
Yoo hoo Noni - hope you are just enjoying W (and A)
Arte - hmm dont know what to say re the misunderstanding with DH, i think it is kinda crazy that he wont let your mum watch W for a few hrs, and therefore willmiss out. i think you shoudl be able to call the shots on that one... and i hope he doesnt regret missing the birth at some later stage. i mean this baby will also be his son/daughter and he wont have been at the birth - not to mention suport for you. sorry if this sounds harsh, but i wouldnt be standing for that personally - i would demand he be there at least at the end (if you ate ok labouring w/out him) and he will just have to let your mum watch W for a few hours. that's jmo though!
I'm all for the J-boy naming trend, if Missy E was a boy she would've been Jovah. LOL
Just have to crank out an intro and check my references then one essay is DONE...one to go. Feel very bad today - so the essay writing is acting as a distraction. Along with whatever sugar/fat/salt laden food I can shovel in. Whatever works.
Arte - oh hun, I don't know how it's all going to work out for you but know that I'm sending all my best lucky vibes that the timing and everything is ok for DH to somehow miraculously be there for the birth. I can't believe you and DH both took something different from the conversation. I hope you can talk him around, I'm sure W is resiliant enough at this age to cope ok no matter how the day(s) pan out.
Awww hun, you will get there
just quick, Mum is OK, not brilliant, but OK. Alister is totally wiped out and is starting to get lethargic. He has bursts of energy when he's his normal self, but he went down for a snooze at 11.30 and only just woke up - unheard of for him to be down for a nap that early. His bum is a mess as you can imagine and I don't know what to do about it because he will be pooing like this till who knows how long.
MD,, hope you feel better soon
Trill, doesn't the really runny bum seem a bit sudden to be an allergy? Or is that how they start to show? I know you said he is never normal in the poo department, but it seems to have amped up a lot in a short time. Could it be some sort of bug? Or teething? I know that every time W gets teeth he breaks out in all sorts of random rashes. As for the bum, I guess barrier creams/aloe vera gel at every nappy time might help? And baking soda in the bath? Poor A, doesn't sound very good.
I think I will just have to lay down the law with DH, it is so silly to miss the birth of your child out of principle when W would most likely enjoy a few hours with his nana.
md- hope you're eating lots of fatty food to help you feel better :) big hugs xoxo
katie- i love the name Joel.....
arte-i wish you could drop W here for the day, we'd have a ball!!!
speaking of teeth, jimmy now has 2 bottom teeth....oh and he had a little try of pureed apples today and loved it!
i'm not really into farex, do i have to do it? or can i just do fruit and veg for a while?
Arte - Yes I agree, he obviously loves W to bits and has his best interests at heart, but he has another child about to arrive now & I think if he were to miss the birth he would regret it. Not to mention you will need the support during labour. I would feel so sad to know you did it alone. Please talk to him, I know you both feel that your mum isnt the most ideal carer for W, but its not for long. Is she able to stay at your place over night if need be? I know some of your family lives a few hrs drive away cant remember if it is your mum. At least then you wouldnt have to worry about dogs etc. I know what you mean about parents not doing anything about their child's rough play, so not on.
MD - I hope you start feeling better, well done on getting one essay done. I feel your pain!!
Trill - Ohhh no poor A, he must be so upset. :( Can he run around nappy free for awhile to air out the skin or is it too risky?
Oz - Ooooh can you spill the J name? Are you still considering Luella?
Rainy - I know I would love to look after W for Arte (even though she doesnt personally know me lol) but I think we would have a ball too, he sounds like such a funny, delightful little boy.
Clare - I feel the same new house, new baby. Fingers crossed for you. I ovulated a couple of days ago, I know because I had my ovulation pain and it was coming from my right ovary, which still has a tube, so we could have possible concieved this month. DH was rearing to go, but I was a bit hesitant due to Bali & I also because I had a few testing days with M that put my thoughts off any more children big time lol. We do want another though, just after Bali. I hope we can be utd together wooo hoo!
Well M did go to bed at 10pm last night, but slept till 9am. So no bother to us.
Must say I am so excited now that M is starting to say more words, today she said to me 'banana, all gone' while at the shops. I just about did a dance in the middle of myer lol. She loves the cat & runs around the house saying 'Billllyyyyyyy' while searching for him. She's been a bit late with words compared to most 2 yr olds I have met but she is well on her way & DH & I are so excited to see what comes out next.
As for the fish vitamins for kids, they reek!! & M so knows the difference, she wont eat or drink anything I put it into lol. They arent silly are they? Not to mention the fish smell hangs off her face (DH is disgusted LMAO) & I washed her cereal bowl this morning with a bunch of other dishes & they all smell fishy. LOL bl00dy hell!!!
Trill, the last time we had nasty toxic nappies, I would wash her bum every time, just with some barely-warm water with bicarb - seemed to help. Might be worth a try? BTW is it possible your mum and A have a version of the same gastro thing? Sounds like they are both totally laid out.
Yeah, Arte, lay down the law!
Rainy, fruit and veg are good IMO, though I found the rice cereal handy for thickening them up.
MM - that's strange, the one's we had just smelled totally fruity. DD even put them in her juice & was quite happy to chew on them like lollies. Mine on the other hand are vanilla-scented capsules so i spend half the day burping up fishy-vanilla-burps LOL.
Ginger, we never had farex. Just do whatever suits you and whatever he wants to eat imo. W would only eat stuff he could feed himself so we accidently did baby led solids.
MM, it is mum that lives 2.5 hours away, but she said she is o.k to come up on short notice to watch W. I think it will all work out fine. Feeling more zen about it all now. When is Bali?
Clare, how is L today? Did you report the dog? I just realised I should have suggested a trip to the doc if you haven't already - dog bites are notorious for getting infected and with the state of her mouth already atm....
How long do molars take to arrive? I am so glad these are the last lot of teeth.
Arte, can you take W with you, have your Mum come and then take him just for that little while as you get to the business end or earlier if he gets upset, then she can bring him in soon after to meet the new baby? And DH wont have to panic so much about her having him. I'm sorry that you can't see eye to eye on it to work it out.
G, don't worry about the farex, it's not really important. If you were doing Baby led solids you wouldn't do farex anyway because it has to be food they can eat themselves etc. How is L going?
H, *YUCK* at the fish smell everywhere. And they do know too when you try to slip something into their food or drink.
It's definitely not a tummy bug that he has because he is otherwise normal, plus he's not been in contact with anyone who has been sick as he hasn't been anywhere this week - he's been at home and the other kids haven't brought anything home either because none of them are sick and the Dr ruled that out when we saw him on Thursday. Even though this degree of severity has come on quick, apparently it's not abnormal for that to happen if it's an allergy/intolerance. People can be fine and display no symptoms at all and then all of a sudden it gets triggered, like any allergic reaction can be. Like with a nut allergy, sometimes it's not the first time they have nuts, it could be the 10th or 100th time they have it kwim?
MD - It does have a fruity smell and flavour to it, but the fish outweighs it a bit, to be expected. M knows & wont have a bar of it. I am thinking I might just crack one open in the morning & put half in her cereal and put the rest in her milk at night before bed.
Trill - Thats a bit scary that an intolerance can just come up that quick! I hope you guys can get it sorted asap, is he happy enough or fairly miserable?
Arte - Going to Bali in early October, staying at a really nice family hotel so M will have a great time. Thats good of your mum, I'm sure things will all fall nicely into place on the big day.
Rainy - I liked rice cereal for thickening up veges & fruit too. Must be funny going through this again, cant believe how fast he is growing.
Hi girls!
MM: eewwww!!! i didnt think of that....my hand hovered over it today but DH was with me and i could imagine the eye-rolling i'd have to endure...so will buy them when he's not around LOL!
did the Drs give any info on whether or not the ovary with the tube will take over? i know that when i fell with Leila i O'd from the left...which was/is not my normal side, so strange...and hopefully i'll do it again sometime soon LOL!
MD: i.am.in.tears.laughing. vanilla fish...mmm mm mmmmmm...
awesome news on the essay front. champion effort. intros are a cinch...read your conclusion and go yeah, that's what i am going to do for this essay LOL!
Sherie: man, poor A. did the GP give you any idea of what to expect with A while you wait for results and action? ie, what his behaviour is going to be like (like is the lethargy within 'normal' limits IYKWIM)?
how long do you think it will take for your mum to get back in balance?
Arte: yeah we took L to the dr today. she seems fine and has no battle wounds (a slightly bruised lip but that's about it).
Rainy: the rice cereal is no biggie. leila ate it like it was going outta fashion but many of the girls in my IRL MG avoided it like the plague without any probs.
AFM: all good here. much better day today than yesterday that's for sure LOL! leila's throat thrush has cleared! so we have our happy little girl back...plus the appetite YAY! we went to the dog park today and miss L was fine...meanwhile her mummy was having palpitations everytime a dog came up for a pat and a lick LOL! luckily though it was mostly the regulars that i know.
some mildly exciting moment today was at the dog park where stella (our dog) befriended this other dog called dusty. anyway the chick and i were talking and the whole time i'm thinking: 'you look so familiar...hmm maybe i work with her'. but then as we were walking home i realised that it was the eyes that were familiar (really pretty blue) and then i realised that she is the comedian chick that is always on good news week and Rove (the blonde one), her name is *running off to google OMG IT TAKES FOREVER TO LOAD LOL!*...cool she has the same name as ME!! how funny is that...her name is claire hooper.
Hi all just a quick one from me while I wait for dh to bring my felafel home!
Md what u craving this month?
I am picturing hot chips...and chocolate cake!
G - how is the ear?
Can't believe it is solids time for j already! Wow time has flown. Are u sure j is your last?
I Also love Joel it was on our list!
Sheeie poor a does he seem upset about it? How's your mum doing?
Katie been meaning to ask how bil is? What's your plan for Logan when u are in hospital?
MM - where in Bali are u going? It will be great! And maybe you will bring back a bali belly of a diff type!
All good here think nay be getting a bug but not sure he did not want dinner tonight which has not jappened for so long and is never a good sign so we will see. J is really sniffly and has bit of a cough poor thing being born in Canberra winter! His skin is so much better though! Planning Noah party think we will have ee I ee I oh theme ie animals/farm as this is the theme he says he wants well that or a pink party so I Am sticking to that one!!!
PP: *snap* we are also having a farm theme! ever since we took leila to the childrens farm here in collingwood it has all been about the 'neighs' and the 'bok boks'. so am planning a 2 tier farm scape cake with fences and animals to boot LOL! cant believe she is 2 IN A WEEK!
PAP BIL is doing loads better, still cant go back to work (he is a carpenter though so pretty physical). You wouldn't know he had even been hurt if it wasn't for his whinging though lol. He will look after L for us while I have this baby, provided all goes well I will be home 4 hours after birth.
Clare so glad to hear L is on the mend and not scared of the dogs. How cool would it be if you and H were pg at the same time!!
MM I am glad you told me that about the fish smell. I bought them the other day, I absolutely hate the smell of fish though. Will have to make that DH's job.
Trill glad to hear your mum is ok, poor little A. I hope that next week is a totally non eventful week for you.
G I cant believe that J is on solids and has two teeth, seriously how quickly does it go. I like Jacob (Jake for short) and don't mind Josh.
Arte I really hope you work out a way for DH to be there, he shouldn't miss the birth over something as trivial as your mum watching W for a few hours.
MD ewww at the vanilla fish lol.
All good here have been out to dinner with a friend tonight but ate way to much, I forget I dont have as much room as I used to lol. We have a birthday party tomorrow, they have a jumping castle which L is just going to love. He should have a good sleep tomorrow afternoon I imagine.
The party sounds great Oz, he'll have a ball. I hated that about the last part of pg too - especially when you are eating something super yummy. Good to hear your BIL is alright again bar the whinging LOL.
Clare, so Clare hooper is Carrie Bickmore's replacement then? I really like her, how cool you bumped into her. I can't believe we are literally days away from starting all the 2yo birthdays - Hannah and Olivia are at the end of this week!
PP, I hope it's not a bug that he's getting. Is he OK today? Great to hear that J's skin is looking better now.
H you could always try a different brand if she still wont go for it. I got the Herron Mini's for the big kids and they don't smell a thing like fish LOL.
Alister's not phased by it until he has his bum changed and then he gets a bit worked up because it's so sore. Last night was pretty bad for him and he was crying and I was nearly crying but he was OK after a few minutes. The lethargy isn't bad like you would see in a child who was sick-sick, but its like he hits his wall and it's 'thats it, I'm done for a while' and he slows right down and then goes off to sleep. Once he's awake it takes a while for him to get going again, but then he's fine. I spoke to Mum last night too and she sounded a lot more refreshed than she did in the morning. She'd had a good rest though. It's hard to say when they will let her home though, possibly a week. I'm going over tomorrow to see her.
As for birthday cakes, I'm thinking Spiderman - Alister is crazy for him. but we wont have a party as such for him, probably just friends over for a BBQ.
Oh dear, party time coming up!! I think we are just doing a family thing, it's really snuck up on me this year.
Clare - glad that L's thrush is clearing up, poor little thing. How exciting, chatting to a celebrity!!
Trill - that's good that your mum is sounding better. Hope A is OK, never good when they are lethargic! And poor thing with the sore bum, it does make you cry when you are having to clean them up when it is so sore.
MD - well done on the essay.
Ginger - we did the Rafferty's rice cereal here, rather than Farex, but like some of the others said, it was more to thicken things up a bit.
PAP - hope your two don't get too sick. K was coughing her way around the supermarket this morning, I'm wondering if her week of early wake ups are something to do with coming down with something else. We were at By the Beach (cafe just south of Lilli Pilli) last weekend and they have pink cupcakes - immediately thought of Noah for when you are down as that would be your closest cafe!!
Arte - hope you and DH sort out what is happening for the birth, would be such a shame for him to miss it.
MM - it is exciting with the words isn't it? We're getting new ones so frequently now and she is starting to string two together like 'I draw'. I was working on 'more please' this morning, she could do it separately but couldn't get them both out, so she was saying 'more, more' instead!!
Hello to everyone else.
DH has gone to Sydney to buy a cricket bat and I've managed to get K to have a nap in her cot (she was exhausted though, waking up at 5:24 does that!!). So I need to go and do a bit of a tidy up before she wakes up and the afternoon cyclone roars through the house!!
