Does a dream feed mean that they dont really wake up that much? I usually wake Maddie at 11/12pm if she hasnt woken in the hope that a feed will keep her asleep till 5/6. It works, but the only bummer is once she is awake for the feed, she is wide awake and doesnt wanna go back to sleep! She finds any light that she can (and I only have one on miles away so that i can hopefully keep her as sleepy as poss) and will just focus on it, its actually really cute, even though I am always buggered and hanging to go to sleep myself! :)
Ozstar - I am the same, I dont offer info unless people ask. I dont mind talking to my mum about anything and everything because she supports us and is always offering helpful ideas. But when it comes to the MIL, I limit the info I tell her, because she always has something negative to say about how we are caring for Maddie. Its like she thinks I dont know what I'm doing. I am still definately learning and will be for awhile, but I think I'm handling motherhood rather well (and by the sounds of it so are you) and dont need her silly opinions. Anyway thats enough of my little rant..sorry! Get carried away when it comes to the MIL.
Gracie - Dont listen to what others have to say, you do what you think is best. Theres always going to be someone who wants to force their opinions on you. Co sleeping is so cute. We love getting little Maddie in bed with us in the morning for a cuddle, but I'm too scared to co sleep, DP is crazy in bed, he totally mangles his pillows and I often wake with him almost on top of me!!
Fianne - You are doing so well with BF, good on you! If in the end it doesnt work out for you, at least you know you gave it all you could.
Kristwoll - Welcome! Congrats on the newest addition to your family. :)
Pregpan - I keep saying to myself, right tonight I'm off to the gym, so far it hasnt happened. I've been walking though hehe. Do you do classes or use the machines? I used to love the cross trainers.
Leemar - Gosh you are brave working with the in laws!
Just when I was wondering when AF would arrive...I woke this morning and there she was! Far out, I had 9 months of bliss. I wasnt even prepared, I only had maternity surfboards in the bathroom. I think I was secretly hoping it wouldn't come back! :)
Well the weekend is here. Its going to be a hot one here in Perth. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
-
fianne- i went through a stage where i didn't think i was giving lewis enough. it's hard cos you can't actually 'see' how much they're getting iykwim? whereas when i gave him a bottle of formula i could actually 'see' that he was getting 60mls or whatever. this started to do my head in a bit, but then a couple of weeks ago- after a couple of desperate posts on here to barb- i decided to just stop the formula all together and just chuck him on my boob as much as i possibly could. i've also been drinking aktivite every day and taking iron tablets. it has been working as he has put on 760grams in 2 weeks....so i guess i'm saying if you can perservere with the bfing then do it. i know it's really hard work but it's worth it if you can. if you feel you've exhausted all options though then keep the formula up- either way you are doing what's best for you and your baby.
hayley- my mil sounds like yours- highly critical and always knows best. we limit what we tell her too as we can't be bothered with her cr7p. you're right, co-sleeping is cute. i love it!! snuggling up with lewis is the best!!
-
Hope everyone is having a good weekend and that your little bubs let you have a bit of a sleep in.
DH grandmother and a few aunts and uncles are in town for a holiday so we are going to visit them today. They haven't seen Will yet so that will be cool.
I have added a couple more photos to my gallery
-
Gracie, well I'm a library type, so I'd have to say go to the public library and borrow one there!! If they don't have them ask them to a) purchase it for the collection or b) get one in for you from another library. I've just finished reading "Parenting by heart" but there is another one about settling your baby which should be good too.
Hi Kirstwoll & welcome to the thread, do you hail from Wollongong by any chance? :) I have a dear friend who lives there...
Pregpan, a dream feed is when you pick the baby up and feed them while they're still half asleep just before you go to bed, I've never done it (can't stand the thought that the baby might wake up) but it's supposed to stretch them so they sleep longer before their first nighttime get up.
Noni, thanks for the tip, so far she's sucked it all down with a surprised look on her face, it's actually a pleasant minty flavour - not so sure why others thought it was bad???
Gracie, I would co-sleep in a flash if I wasn't such a heavy sleeper, you do what is right for you and pooh to everyone else!!!!
Pregpan, loooove the photos of Noah, just can't get over how much hair he's got, soooo gorgeous! And he has deep eyes too...Sorry to hear about your friends, make sure you have someone you can debrief to about your own feelings - it's important when you're supporting someone in a really heavy situation.
Fianne - not long before you will be out and about again, once you're driving suddenly the whole world opens up once more...hope you can keep yourself sane until then!
Well guess what, I've had some very exciting news: I am GOING TO UNIVERSITY next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got the acceptance letter yesterday. :D It'll be distance ed so I can quite happily chug thru one unit at a time ad infinitum until it's done. Wooo hoooo! Also we went out for Chinese soup last night Jazmum, so it was later 9.00ish when E went to bed, and she slept right through until 5.00am (!!!) OMG how GOOD do I feel today!
ETA - Arte - loooove the smiley photos of William!
-
Oooh Marydean, does this mean I will be seeing you in my neck of the woods next year? I am trying to work on Dh about a shopping trip to canberra by dropping subtle hints, but he's not taking the bait thus far LOL.
So-so day around here. washing, cleaning and mowing the lawns. Alister is asleep ATM but should wake soon for a feed. With the dream feed thing, It's something I've always done but didn't realise there was a name for it - I just thought it was me being anal about bubs having to have their normal amount of feeds in a day LOL.
-
Hi all, super quick post to say hi and am thinking of you all but not quite there with reading everyone's news! All is going OK here - Miss S (sorry MD: have borrowed your prefix!) is chugging along nicely, the boobenheimers resemble breasts again and not large melons, the stitches are healing (forgot to mention I had a 2nd degree tear - OMG what a sore bum!! Thanks for the tip on the lax/fibre Ella! You are a life (or bottom) saver ) and I am starting to feel less emotionally wrought now the milk is settling. Thanks a million fr all the support you guys.
HAppy birthday SupaB & everyone else who's had one recently! (Was it you Gracie? Aaargghhh sorry)
Thanks so much for your text MD: and congrats on the Uni!!!!! :confetti: Well done my dear!
Gotta run - will do personals later... maybe in a day or two!
Have to run xxx
-
Queenie, - darl - absolutely no pressure with the personals, we're just happy to hear how you're doing! As a tear veteran myself I can highly recommend bathing with any type of bath salts you have - or even table salt or epsom salts if that's all you have. Glad you got your boobenheimers back! Glad Miss S is doing well, can't wait to see photos (when you're good and ready says MD who took 7 weeks to post hers LOL)!
Sherie - Will definitely be visiting next year :)! Not sure of dates yet but will let you know...re Canberra, maybe "sell" how much cheaper things are in the "Big Smoke"...??? Pretty normal day here too, gotta help DD clear out her bedroom, it always ends in tears...(mine that is, she's agonisingly frustratingly SLOW at tidying).
-
Hey ladies just popped in to catch up with everyone. Loving all the new tickers btw, they look fantastic!
I have been sick with aches, fever and the runs :( So ive been feeling quite sorry for myself. Im really worried Rory is going to catch it. Not fun.
Will do a proper catch up when im feeling better. xoxox
-
LOL Marydean, I think I will try that approach ;) I also think our daughters share a brain - Erin is sooo slow at cleaning her room and will use every delaying tactic under the sun to avoid doing it.
Renee, just make sure that you wash your hands really well etc and he should be fine. I managed to keep Alister away from the dreaded lurgy by making sure that my hands were always clean after dealing with the kids.
-
Renee, Sorry to hear you've been so unwell. Just become a hand-washing nazi, if you and DH wash your hands with soap every single time you touch Rory hopefully he won't get it. This is the reason most GPs don't get sick all the time - it's the hand washing. I hope Rory doesn't get it. xxx
Sherie - yep I'm kind of procrastinating re the room...gotta get in and make sure I find every single last bit of recalled toy-ness in there (she's got Bindeez and polly pocket stuff all over the place) *sigh*.
-
Hey Everyone,
Just thought I would quickly jump on. It is DH's birthday so I took him out to breakfast and am about to drop him down at the beauty shop for a massage, I am such a great wife lol.
Renne sorry to hear your sick, I hope you getter better real soon.
Queenie sounds like your doing really well, besides the sore bottom.
Arte your pics are adorable, he has such a gorgeous smile.
MD congrats getting into uni, what are you studying?
Hayley lol at the maternity surfboards.
Jazmum how are you doing?
Better run, back later.
-
Hi everyone
I have been flat out lately. Am finding it very hard to find 'me' time at the moment.
Am hoping to read through all previous posts and do some personals, but will have to be at a later date (Zoe is at me to play the computer!!)
Hope you're all well :)
talk to you soon
-
arte, love william's smiles!
hmmm....guess i'm lucky in the MIL department. mine does not put her nose in my business....can see that she's holding her tongue and i appreciate it. and will only give suggestions when asked for.
as for co-sleeping, i was wary of it and dp was the other way pre-birth but now i just love how max seems to sleep longer when she's in bed with us whereas dp would rather that she wasn't in bed with us now because he's afraid of rolling over her. in fact, he's woken up a couple of times in a panic and saying things like "where's her head?" when max is in her cot and not in bed with us. says that he can't sleep soundly when she's in our bed. :)
gracie, how much akta-vite do you drink a day? the recipe said 1 glass in the morning and another couple (or was it 3 more?) through the day. also, i'm lactose intolerant so i've started doing it with lactose free milk. think this makes the mix less effective?
MD congrats on getting into uni! talk about a new world opening up! uni's definitely a new world. am really looking forward to being mobile again. have rang up my local aba to find out when the next meeting is and where. will give that a go when i can. have also rang up rbwh's physio for the mother-baby classes...no spot available for december and need to ring in dec for jan...but have signed up for some other physio class for after the 6 week time frame...the classes aren't available to bubs under 6 weeks anyway.
queenie, sorry about the sore bum. good to see you on here. i couldn't get myself organized enough to get back on to bb for a long while after max was born. so i'm an admirer of yours for being able to post at this stage and don't expect personals. :)
renee, hope you're feeling better.
i'm finding it a little easier to keep up with the posts now than in the pregnancy threads....since everyone's a bit busier with the little ones. :)
went to big w to buy huggies and they only had newborn sized ones left! staff told me they went fast. was wanting to get some of the next size up ones as well as one of the newborn (think she'll be outgrowing the newborn after this box) but they didn't have any. walking around the mall, saw heaps of people walking out with boxes of huggies.
i like weekends where dp can takes his turn at watching max and i am able to sit and finish a post in one go and not have to get up every 2 mins to attend to max.
-
Fianne, the next size up in Huggies is Infant & they don't come in a big box, but rather the half-size large plastic bags...the next size up after that (in the big box) is too big a step up. However, I buy the small Snugglers when they are on special at BigW for $25 and they fit quite well now and they're ok nappies too.
Jazmum, I've been hoping everything is ok at your end, do hope you get some "me" time when you need it.
Re the MILs - mine's not game to say anything to me because I'm breastfeeding and she "couldn't" - however, she did say to me that she thinks my SIL didn't have enough milk on account of how frequently she was feeding her (then newborn) baby - You can bet I set her straight on that point!! Kind of nice actually cos she respects my expertise in this area...
Katie, I'm going to Uni so I can be a "real" librarian LOL - I'm a technician but doing a librarian's job - my library doesn't distinguish between the two (it's based on what skills you have) but there are libraries that pigeon-hole techs and it would drive me crazy seeing a sh*thouse librarian doing a crummy job that I could do better for want of a degree. Plus I've got the better part of half of the degree done already in prior credit :D!
-
 Having a little MD party in here...! I hope this means everyone's having a gorgeous weekend and too busy having a nice time to pop in!
Had dear friends up for the day today, am exhausted now! While E was at times overwhelmed at all the extra people, she beamed gorgeously and chatted most endearingly to my friends. Which was just lovely! The Zantac seems to be working as she is much more settled, however she's had a bit of runny poo so I hope that's not a side effect - will see if it settles down over next few days.
-
Fianne - Such a bummer that Huggies infants dont come in boxes isnt it? Took me ages to figure it out, spent ages at woolies once looking for a box!!
Marydean - Are you saying that the snugglers infants come in a box? Congrats on the uni acceptance. I'm also starting uni next year, studying home economics teaching (secondary school) and i'm planning on doing the same with taking my time and doing one unit at a time.
Renee - Sorry to hear you have been sick, have been wondering where you were.
Queenie - I had a second degree tear too, not nice. Salt baths seemed to help me too.
Well it has taken me ages to type this post, we are driving back from the parent in laws house, they live 100km out of Perth, so i'm on DP's lap top. What a mission!! MIL drove me nuts but we wont go there.
-
Fianne the Huggies infants do come in a box of 100, they just arent sold at supermarkets or normal retailers. I buy the boxes from Babies Galore. The huggies website has a list of stockist in each state.
MD sounds like you wont have much trouble with your course then. Glad the zantac is working for E. I am sure all your friends thought she was gorgeous.
Hayley sorry to hear your MIL drove you nuts. I am sure there is other ways you would have preffered to spend your weekend. Good on you for starting Uni too.
Jazmum did you manage to get any "me" time this weekend?
We had a lovely weekend. Had some friends around for a BBQ last night and went and had a look around the shops today. I am absolutley buggered though.
-
to all those looking for infant nappies in boxes try babies galore or toys are us.. they come in these brown boxes but they are the same nappies..
well ive had a lovely birthday weekend been very spoilt... went to newtown festival so that was nice to be out shopping at their market stalls and listening to music got the cutest bandana for ash will have to post a pic of her wearing it when i take one lol..
ww wednesday is a scary thought because dp keeps saying "there is no points on your birthday" lol and i was bought a very nice cheesecake which dosn't have many pieces taken out of it so far..
-
hi ladies....remember me ???!!!!
I feel like a rotten BB member - vanishing off the face of the planet for prob was a very important time for all of us. Please dont think i wasnt thinking of you girls.....i just needed time out. Life is pretty busy with three little people, and i just found by 8pm at night the last thing i felt like doing was talking about my day - KWIM?? I felt like i needed a break and just needed to get used to my new little girl. Time was so precious, and ironing or clipping my toe nails seemed to be a bit higher on my priority list....gawd, does that sound bad??? Doestn mean i didnt pop in now and again and read what all you lovely mums have been up to....
I love belly belly and you girls really brought loads of convo starters and happy smiles to my face...so i may not be online every day, i may not respond every day, but hey, im still here and thinking of you all....
*must, must make more of an effort to get on BB*

:happybirthday: (Iknew it was someones birthday today). I hope you had an awesome day.
-
NONI - Happy birthday for YESTERDAY!!!! (sorry I was a bit brain dead last night) :happybirthday: I hope you got lots of gorgeous treats and felt special all day! I reckon your DP is right and there are no points on your birthday and you can tell the WW mob we said so. I hope y'all polished off that cheesecake at least. :D
Mbear - yay so good to hear from you! Please don't spend another moment feeling like you *should* or *have to* anything! We're thrilled to hear from you whenever you'd like to post but we understand what it's like. xxx Hope your little family is thriving...the photos are gorgeous and little Sam looks like she's a smiley girl, she looks bright as a button too!
-
Happy birthday Noni for yesterday.
Well I've had a pretty good weekend. Mum and sis came down (stayed at a friends house) and we went to the zoo and out for lunch and they got to spend lots of quality time with K.
Was supposed to have immunisations this morning but I cancelled - DH was sick last week and I don't think K got anything, but didn't want to run the risk of it. Try again in a fortnight.
DH got his head split open wicketkeeping - has a lovely black eye that will be fun explaining to all the kids at school today, but no concussion or anything luckily.
I am looking forward to K and I heading up to Canberra at the end of the week while DH does some uni study and I get the Christmas shopping done. Hopefully she doesn't have any trouble settling in the new environment, so far she's been pretty good at coping with outings and visitors so fingers crossed.
Do other babies spew out their noses? Sometimes it's like a fountain - both nostrils and the mouth. We can go through 3 bibs in an hour of awake time.
MD - congrats on getting into uni
MBear - good to hear from you, of course we all understand how difficult it is to get onto BB these days, hope you are enjoying your 3 littlies.
-
belated happy birthday noni!
mbear, welcome back. and i totally understand how difficult it is to get on bb as much as we want to. i've only just recently been able to post more or less regularly. and that's with only 1 little one.
cally, sorry don't know about the nose spew. max only does the mouth one. does katie spew just after a feed or just whenever she's awake? i worry about her gagging on the spew so tend to keep her upright for a looong while after a feed...formula feed that is. have to admit that i'm a bit bad when it's breast feeding coz' i tend to forget to burp her and keep her upright.
has anyone tried using formula/breast milk thickeners?
also, how much do your little ones pass gas? max seems to have HEAPS of them and they're not baby-like. they're more like adult pops that dp and i look at each other to confirm that it's her and not the other. am wondering why she's got so much gas. or if this is just norm.
well, another start of the week....hope everyone has a good one.
-
Whoops sorry, didnt realise infants do come in a box.
Does anyone know much about feeding your baby cooled boiled water in warmer weather? Its been quite hot in Perth lately (37 deg today) so i've been a bit worried about dehydration. Last night just before her feed I gave her 10mls of water, then she finished a 180ml bottle of formula. I'm wondering how much to give and how often? Forgot to ask the health nurse last wk.
Also has anyone noticed their baby gets a shaky leg now and then? I had a look on google and it said something about it being their nervous system developing?? Just want to know i'm not the only one, its making me worried! :)
Noni - Happy bday for yesterday, glad to hear you had a nice day!
Cally - Maddie has had a few spews out her nose as well. Does it seem to bother Katie? The times that she has spewed out her nose, was when I had over fed her and she got quite upset about it as well.
Can anyone recommend any toys for an almost 2 month old? I notice that Maddie is having more awake time during the day now, and is wanting more stimulation. I was planning on going out and getting one of those floor gym thingos, but its so hot today, will go tomorrow I think.
Mbear - Hi, dont think I've 'met' you. :) I agree, it is so hard to find the time to get onto BB. I only get on when the little one is asleep, mind you I should be using the time to do housework!
-
Fianne - How cute, Maddie is the same with passing gas, sometimes its quite suprising. I wouldnt worry about it.
-
Fianne, Will was up half the night because he kept waking himself up with massive farts, I think it is normal (but I won't be eating onion rings for a while)
Haley, I have a mirror thing from Big W that Will likes to play with. It has some dangley bits that he can hit too. He is on the bed staring at himself at the moment. It can tie onto the side of the cot or you can open it up a bit so it is A frame and free standing. Apart from that he has a bouncy seat that has toys hanging above that he likes to hit.
For those with pets, how are your furbabies going with the new additions? My dog was bug eyed and not impressed for the first week or so, now she searches the house to find him and gives him kisses when he is in is bouncer (then whacks him with her tail as she turns away)
-
thanks for the birthday wishes everyone...
arte - at first jeordie (our dog) wasnt very good with ash and was quite jelous but now he is quite protective and wants to know where she is all the time.. he cries if we go out with the pram and dont bring him lol hes doing pretty well with the whole thing...
haley - ash has a few toys.. she has a bouncer that has toys hanging from it though atm she just stares at them lol.. she has a few small soft toys that she likes to hold up to her face or cuddle and she has a small play mat for tummy time, i just put her on it about ten mins ago and after trying to move around (she pushes with her legs but hasnt got the arms happening yet lol) she fell asleep there haha... the thing she really likes though is like a spider that hangs from the pram and u pull the cord and it vibrates upwards like it was on a web it was only like $8 at big w... apart from that the easiest thing to do is look at the age recomendations on the toys anything that says 0+ is ok :)
fianne - it is completely normal lol ash does some that shock us sometimes lol
cally - no spewing out the nose over here but deffinately going through crap loads of bibs lol
md - lol no theres still cheesecake in the fridge and i ended up having a piece for lunch today lol (it costs me as much points as it would to eat something like pasta for lunch haha)
well better be off gotta put some washing on while the weather is nice because its piled up over those rainy days!!!
-
Arte - We were worried about our cat billy and how he would react to no longer being the baby in the house. We went out and bought a cat cover for the cot. Billy is very very affectionate, so we could imagine him climbing into the cot with bubby. So far he has been fine, took him a few days to figure her out, especially when she cried, he was a bit scared! I'm forever chasing him around the house, ensuring he is no where near Mad.
-
Good Afternoon Everyone,
Mbear we all understand how hard it is to find some "me" time and that at the ned of the day you just want to shut the world away and concerntrate on yourself.
Cally sounds like you had a lovely weekend. I cant wait to be able to Logan to the zoo. Good thinking putting the needles off. Logan has only had a couple of spews and they have been small so sorry I cant help you there.
Fianne Logan is a champ in the gas department and always leaves me and DH looking at each other wondering how such a big sound comes from sucha small person.
Hayley I have no idea about the cooled water but wouldnt think it would be a bad thing, hopefully someone can shed more light for you. Logan loves anything that makes a sound or hangs above his head. He can lay in his bassinett for ages laughing at the toys that hang down.
Arte I dont have any pets so we didnt have to worrry. Its is cute that your dog goes looking for W though.
Logan has slept from about 7pm until 4am for the last 4 nights. I have been giving him a few top up feeds today so I can try and stretch his last feed to about 8.30 and see if he sleeps longer. No big deal if he doesnt though as I feed him at 4am and then he comes to bed with me and sleeps until about 7.30-8am. It is nice to be getting a little routine though.
Hello to everyone else hope you are all well.
-
waaaaaaaaa just had the biggest binge lol and ww wednesday is quickly approaching :( have now eateb cheese cake, 3 choc biscuits and crackers with dip lol not to mention breakfast etc :( better go hang out the washing and go for a looooooooong walk coz i am 3pts over n thats if i dnt eat dinner grrr i am so angry at myself right now!!!
-
ETA Hehehe, I am following the others footstep and add a photo on my ticker
Noni, happy birthday again! Ash is so cute with the bunny, is that the soft toy you mentioned the other day. Btw I am thinking about buying a grobag, probably the lightest one for summer. Which one do you have?
Fianne, Max is so gorgeous! I havent tried the tickeners. Same thing with passing gas :) I tried to avoid oranges or other citrus fruit because of that.
Gracie, I read some pinky’s books on my GP’s waiting room and love them. During the day W is also in hab and we move him from cot to our bed almost everynight now. Sometimes I feel guilty as well, but people keep saying that he is a bright and happy baby, what matter the most is that we’re all happy
Btw, I am kinda jealous with your day spa :)
Katie, thanks for asking! Still have a bit of pain. I did go to an LC but only for attachment not for this treatment. Good to hear about the routine, W is still waking up 1-2 times at night
Arte, Will smile is so cute. My W is also loving the mirror atm. So funny isnt it, how they stare and talk to themselves.
Hayley, try searching on the thread. I think I read something on giving water in hot weather for FF babies but just cant remember the exact volume. W has rocker, mobile, baby gym. He loves the gym since the first time we tried it around 4 weeks
Leanne, hope you had a better day at work today
Queenie, nice to hear from you. I had third degree tear and I took Metamucil and Lactulose, they're really good for the bum
Renee, hope you're felling better soon
Sherie, how’s Alister. Hope his skin is getting better
Cally, have a pleasant trip!
MD, congrats on uni and thanks for your reply the other day. How’s the book, I am currently reading Science of Parenting which Kelly recommended.
Good to hear that E is more settled, hope the runny poo is just a one thing. How lovely of her to smile and chat to your friends :) Do you think this is the phase they become chatty? W is also really talkative atm
Renovation is still going, W is quite disturbed with the loud noise so I carried him most of the time now. Looking forward to the finishing touch as I just want to be left alone with W during the day.
-
well i attatched the dog to the pram and we went fir 45min walk around the block.. gonna try to do it every day coz it seemed to stop aresonic hr coz the pram put her to sleep :)
agnes - i have the medium grobag but it is getting a bit hot for it now.. and yep thats the fave toy i was talking about hehe...
-
Marydean & Hayley,
Matt & Natalie go to the opera house, woo hoo!
-
Hi everyone!
Had a busy day yesterday, I went out to a colour analysis seminar thing where we were given a brief colour analysis (I am of 'winter' colouring with a deep flow apparently LOL) and were taught how to buy more appropriate clothes for our shape and colouring etc. It was quite useful really, and it was nice to know that nearly all the colours I wear already are the colours that most suit me - I was worried she would tell me I dress terribly and look like a dag LOL. So my 'colouring' means that I can wear nearly everything except pastels, which is great as I hate them anyway. I tell you what though, this drought does have some benefits - this whole day was put on for free as someone had arranged a grant to pay for this woman to come and give the seminar and it included lunch too. It normally costs $195 to see this woman privately. Plus we got a free goodie bag at the end.
Alisters skin is still terrible, and I just don't know what to do next. It looks worse in the heat, making me think it is a heat rash combined with dry skin, but yesterday nearly every second person told me it was ezcema. I bathed him in bi-carb soda and warm water last night and gave his skin a light scrub and it has improved some of the dryness, plus I lathered him in sorbolene after his bath. I did think it could be a lactose intolerance, but it's not affecting his nappies or tummy kwim? I might try some sudocream on it when he wakes up and see how that goes. I have some steriodal lotion for my psoriasis, but I don't know if I would be doing more harm than good to put a little of that on him?
-
Sherie sounds like you had a great day yesterday, you lucky thing. I would love to be able to be told what to wear for my shape and colour. I have excema which got worse and appeared on my face when I was pregnant, I used Sudocream and it worked well.
I tried feeding Logan a little latter last night but he still woke at 4pm and was wide awake after his feed. I am going to try again today. I am also trying to get him to sleep in his big cot durring the day and have been putting his bassinett in the nursery at night. It feels really strange going to bed with out him next to me and takes me alot longer to go to sleep.
-
Morning Ladies,
Well I must be the only one who does not have a photo of Babies on BB. I am however trying to find the time to do it. So I will keep you all posted.
Well Olivia is now sleeping through till about 5.00am She is sturing around 2pm but I just put her dummy in and she is settled again and finally I dont have to keep getting up to put the dummy in. Yippee for mummy. I also have started to give O some Farax in the morning for breakfast. She is now in 00 and I have now packed away all the 000 to pass on to a relative as I definatly wont be needing them any more.
Well I better go and get back to work. Talk to you all Soon and I hope everyone has a wonderful day
Noni- I hope you had a wonderful Birthday.

gggrrrr- i've had the worst night's sleep!. lewis woke up at 4am and i was still awake trying to settle him when dp's alarm went off at 5.50am!! poor dp was so stuffed. i think he might have to sleep in the other room when he's got such an early start. lewis is so noisey- he just wants to play and chat- he makes the craziest gargling noises!...and don't even get me started on the farts. thay are louder than his father's...and that is loud. dp reckons he's gonna be a hit with his mates at high school.
sherie- you must be similar colourings to me. we had a similiar seminar about 5 years ago and she told me i shouldn't wear pastels and should wear strong primary colours...somehow i usually always end up wearing black though- think it's a melbourne thing. when i first moved in with dp he couldn't believe how much black there was hanging on our washing line (he's from sydney, so he just doesn't get the melbourne black thing).
i am so tired!! so much to do!! bidding on a boat on ebay at the moment- it's my birthday present- very old but would be so fun as a family boat...but i keep getting outbid by one person. it's driving me crazy!!!

Noni- The box says 4months but the boys were 3 months and My cousins sons were 6wks and 8wks. I did it with Olivia cause I didnt want to increase her bottles but she seemed to me like she wanted more only on occasion. I am also starting her on water at the end of this week. For myself as a rule I always try new stuff like feeding foods and medicine at the begining of the day cause that way if they have a reaction to it, it is a lot easier to deal with it (like going to the doctors or hospital) during the day then late at night also during the day I can watch them more closely.

Sherie, have you tried aloe vera gel on A's skin? I find it quite good to heal up skin problems, but excema can be rather stubborn so I guess the steroid cream may work better than natural remedies. I wonder if bio-oil would be any good?
Leanne, yay for the sleep. I have been getting 6 hours sometimes and it feels like heaven.
W has his vaccinations today. I am not too worried, I have never had any sort of reaction to them so I don't expect that he will have any problems.
