sherie, glad to hear A's skin's better.
noni, heard that gargling or applying salt's really good for cold sores. i've tried and it worked for me. hope it goes away quickly.
katie, sorry, no answer for any of your questions. am still picking max up w/ hands on neck & bum coz' her neck's still not that strong.
-
phew lol having a rest.. have done one load of washing and hung it out and the second is on and just some general tidying and putting out dps rubbish bags lol...
hmmm with af i really dnt know much about it... i got mine back bang on six weeks lol right in time for my bday of course!!! but i did find i had alot less pain anyone else find that? any ideas if it will stay that way now? i used to get quite bad af pain for 1 - 2 days but this time i just got the twinges like it was coming and that was it???
shade in the car - we have tommee tippee shades attatched to the back side windows and that
seems to work pretty well they were only like $10 for the two so worth a try!!!
driving in the car- Asha loves the car but i actually cant drive (have a motorbike licsence but cant really strap the carseat on the back lol) so we get around when dps not here in the pram or the carrier and if i needed to go further wed catch a train or bus.. are those of u having trouble near any public transport?? if ur bubs like the pram or sling/pouch better it might be less stressfull just for when ur on your own before bubs gets used to it...
lol and tummy time- Asha dosnt mind tummy time, if shes not tired she will kick around and moves herself forward very slowly a tiny bit at a time but she soon gets frustrated.. i just put her on her tummy on her play mat about 15mins ago and she fell asleep lol so ive just left her there she looks really comfy and its probably cooler down there...
md - yeah probably should go get some zovirax i was using a blistex cold sore cream then i moved on to tea tree oil (ouch!!!!) because the infection was spreading and the cream wasnt stopping it... so thats drying them out and the small ones that were coming up from the spread havnt got any worse phew.. then over that because it gets really dry i am just putting baby lotion lol.. they are TERRIBLE!!! i usually catch them early but this time i already had dry cracked lips so i didn't differentiate the feeling of that and them coming up :)
agnes - i never thought of trying bonjela! deffinately guzzling down the water atm!! i hate this weather!!
fianne - thanks for the salt water trick i have some sea salt so i must try it!!
-
Thanks everyone for the advise. Think I will make an appointment with the Dr to be safe.
MD you made my day I wasnt sure if you could still BF with the implant type contraceptives. I dont want to stop BF, I am just starting to get the hang of it lol.
I feel much better knowing I am not the only one picking him up under the arms. He has a really strong neck so I think he will be ok.
Fianne and Arte I wanted to go to the markets too but completley forgot. How often are they on?
Arte Logan tends to be the same with DH. Poor Dh gets so frustrated when Logan cracks it and all I have to do is pick him up and he is smiling again.
Noni seems everyone is getting the flu. Mine didnt last long so I hope you feel better soon.
Leanne and MD my DH called this morning to tell me he has to go away for work this week too. He leaves tomorrow and is back on Thursday night.
Logan is gettign tears now when he cries, it is going to make his crying so much worse for me now lol.
-
Well bubby is being quiet and happily amusing herself on her playmat - the house is clean - washing done... I'M BORED! hm, I don't think i've had time to actually do anything since she was born and now that i do i don't know what to do!
Queenie ~ We also used a wrap to make a little tent over Scarlet's car seat but now she reaches out and grabs it so we don't do it unless it's a really bright day - She loves looking around now too so i think our only option is to get DF's car tinted darker - we bought some of those window sleave things from super cheap for about $20 on sale too, but the rear window is still a problem, My car is just a total hassle because it's a convertable and the button to pop the roof is right next to the indicator - Great fun when it's raining!
Sherie ~ thanks for the dreamfeeding advice, I think that would work really well with Scarlet, I'm going to try it tonight.
Noni ~ I don't have any advice on coldsores but i hope you feel better soon & it's not the flu!

Hello everyone
Looks like I missed the rest of the last thread, oh well, I’ll just have to start things from here.
We’ve had such a busy weekend. Absolutely crazy. We had a friend’s b’day party on Friday night and were supposed to be there at 7.30pm. well, dp got home from work really late and by the time we both showered/got dressed/got lewis dressed- how hard is it these days?? It’s almost impossible. One of us has to look after lewis while the other gets ready so everything takes 3 times longer than it used to. I really wanted to wash my hair as I hadn’t washed it in about 2 weeks! I can’t believe how dirty I am these days!!! Anyway, so by the time the 3 of us were ready it was about 9pm, and then, on the way to the party we ran out of petrol. We couldn’t believe it! The gage said there was 75km left but we now know that it’s faulty (we’ve only had the car about 3 months). So we had to ring my dad who came to save us from the side of the road and took dp to get a jerry can while I sat in the car breastfeeding lewis! It was ridiculous, we got to the party so late. Anyway, it was great when we got there as there was some older mums whose kids are teenagers now and they just went crazy over lewis and one of them sat and held him for about an hour so I could socialise and catch up with people and even have a beer! It was fantastic.
Poor dp had to get up early the next day and work. Then we had another party on Saturday night- a friend’s 30 th b’day. It started at 6.30pm and dp didn’t get home from work till after 7pm. I hadn’t had a shower or anything so it was another case of taking hours to get ready once he got home. Anyway we did the best that we could and ended up rocking up to the party at about 9pm. When we got there, the sister of the girl whose b’day it was, was standing out the front. She said to me ‘you’re so late!!’. I said ‘I know, I’m really sorry’…and she said ‘I don’t know how to tell you this…..it was a wedding’….anyway, so it turns out it was actually a surprise wedding and we had missed the whole thing. I felt so bad, I started crying. I couldn’t believe I had missed my friend’s wedding. Anyway, she was really good about and was just glad that we got there at all and we got to see her in her dress and everything. I still feel terrible though. It’s the last time we’ll ever rock up to a party that late again.
Sherie- do you love my avatar??? It’s fantastic isn’t it? It actually does look like me (but way hotter of course!). ambah has done a great job. I’m wrapped. Glad to hear alister is doing so well.
Noni – I know what you mean about keeping your place clean. My house is so unbelievably messy atm. It doesn’t matter how much I clean up, by the next day it is filthy again.
Hayley- we went to toys r us yesterday and bought the fisher price rainforest open top cradle swing and it is faulty and doesn’t work. I am so upset as it’s a real hassle to take it back as the nearest toys r us is about 40 mins away and it’s in a huge box- way too big for me to carry by myself. I’m so upset as I really wanted to use it to settle lewis so I can do some expressing as I have to go out tomorrow night and leave him with dp. Oh well, apart from this incident I usually love fisher price stuff too!
Jazmum- 27 barbie dolls!! They are lucky girls. I absolutely loved barbies when I was little.
Leanne- hope you’re doing well at ww. I really should get off my butt and do something like that too. Especially with xmas coming up. We are going up to Sydney so it would be good to lose some weight so I can at least look reasonable in bathers! I have bought one of those miracle swimsuits (one piece) that is supposed to make you look thinner. It would be a bloody miracle alright!
md- I have scratches on me too! It’s horrible. I look like I’ve been handling a kitten or something….must remember to cut lewis’ nails!! I’ve been trying to get a copy of wonder weeks too. I’m voting for matt corby too. I reckon he’s a cutie!
Queenie- lewis has been vomiting a lot too. In fact, he vomited all over my brother yesterday, which was great. Then I put him in the hab and he vomited all down my chest and on my new country road dress. Very hard to be glamorous these days isn’t it??
Renee- lewis is a kicker too. Always manages to kick me in the boobs when I’m changing him and it kills!!
Agnes- sometimes a dummy works for lewis, sometimes it doesn’t. it’s work a try though. Settling is so hard sometimes isn’t it? What works for me one day, doesn’t necessarily work the next iykwim?? You’re right about the heat here. It’s horrible isn’t it? I’ve shut all the blinds, got the fan and air con on….you know it’s a hot Melbourne day when it’s this hot near Mt Dandenong!
Liddle pixie- so good to hear from you! I’d been wondering where you’d been. Scarlet is a big girl isn’t she? It’s fantastic to hear you’re doing so well.
Katie- I’m very jealous of your sleeping. I really wish lewis would sleep through. You’ve done well to do all your xmas shopping and clean your house too. Well done!
Fianne- sorry to be of no help at all, as lewis loves the car. In fact, it’s a great way to settle him. I imagine it must be really hot up there for you guys atm, as it’s extremely hot down here in Melbourne,
Artechim- sounds like I should listen to the advice of breastfeeding not being a contraceptive and go and get the mini pill! 7 kids in 7 years! No thanks…
It is so hot here today!! Oh btw, we ended up buying that boat off ebay that I was bidding on (I am obsessed with online shopping too all you ladies!). we got it for a real bargain but haven’t had a chance to take it out on the water yet as we’ve been so busy. Might be able to take it out next Sunday…
Hope you all have a nice day.
-
ntw, do ur little ones wake up in a cry? i feel/think that max usually does during the day. probably 70% of the time. any reason why?
-
fianne ~ Scarlet cries alot in her sleep and sometimes it does wake her up but then she's really happy - I think it's bad dreams lol.
-
katie, market's on every 2nd month so next one is on 20 jan.
-
Gracie your avatar is fantastic. I think DH is going to upgrade my membership for Christmas.
-
Gracie, I really love your av! You look very serene with the trees in the background (although you probably feel far from serene sometimes LOL)
Katie, another contraceptive option is the Mirena IUD too, there are a few threads on here about it. I think one worry you could have about your AF is becomming anaemic from blood loss, particularly if it has been heavy. Definately go and see your Dr hun, it just doesn't *feel* right to me to get it that often.
Speaking of AF, I got mine back on Saturday too, so I am back on the pill until DH gets the snip, which could be ages away.
-
gosh it is soooo hot!!! Ashas been screamy all day and i couldnt figure it out then i turned on the air con and once the house cooled down she fell asleep lol she likes the heat about as much as her parents do!! not at all!!! i am kinda cautious about using the air con because of electricity bills but no point having it if we cant use it i suppose!!!
to those with membership do u send ur pic to someone and they make the av? thats cool...
sherie - what do u think about taking the pill? ive heard many nasty things about it but condoms arent favourable.. though i wonder if i would remember to take it? remember the iron tablet fiasco lol... are things like that as bad for your body as they say???
gracie - i love the avatar!!! and yep my house is filthy and so am i lol ikwym about the hair washing thing i feel like i really have to work hard to squeeze in a shower so theres not always time to spend long in there!!..
lol lp - bored hey you could come round here theres plenty you could do hahahaha
katie - hope everything goes well with the dr..
-
thanks to everyone re my avatar. i love it too. it's really me actually, my fringe is always over my eye like that.
fianne- lewis wakes up and cries a lot. if i wake up before him i quickly run to the toilet so i can make it back before he starts crying.
katie- i bought my membership upgrade for myself for my birthday as dp forgot to get me anything. you should get one for xmas. it's a great present idea i reckon as bb has become such a good 'friend' to me and helped me with lewis more than anyone else in my life.
md- forgot to tell you, i bought a pinky mackey book off ebay '100 ways to calm the crying' and it is absolutely fantastic. i read it while i'm breastfeeding and i just really agree with her whole philosophy. i love it.
sherie- i love the trees in my background, as we live in the middle of a national park and all you can see from our back deck is trees and mountains all the way to the skyline- hence the very annoying ciccada noise constantly!sorry to hear about af!
noni- you send an email with a little description about yourself to get your avatar made up. they do a fantastic job don't they? i can never do enough in the shower before lewis starts crying. that's one of the reasons i bought the fisher price swing so that i can put him in it while i have a shower and actually wash myself lol! but the bloody thing is faulty. i'm so upset!
i've been trying to express milk all day today in between feeds but it's so hard when you're feeding constantly. so far i've managed to get about 110mls. i need to leave lewis for about 5 hours tomorrow night to go to a seminar on share trading (my new career as a sahm). how much milk do you guys reckon i'll need to leave dp? i plan to keep expressing tomight and tomorrow as well.
-
Boredom didn't last long - Scarlet started fussing as soon as i clicked 'post' - we had bathies, cuddles and tummy time so she's sleeping now. I'm still trying to work out this digital camera and putting pics on the computer - signed up for totsites but it's not much use when i can't get the pictures on there *lol*
I should have kept using my old camera, it wasn't so confusing.
Attention online shoppaholics - I just got a free pair of sunnies from ROC worth 49.95 - Paid $10 for postage (express) but they're still awesome - I have a sunny fetish :) If anyone wants the link for them i'll PM it to you.
-
Gracie - when you start feeding do you hold a bottle under the other nipple? i used to find that the other breast would leak a considerable amount.
-
Oh my goodness you ladies have been busy in here! Had to do a quick skim read through everyones posts, sorry.
Hayley - Oh no dont encourage me with the online shopping! Hehe. That is so funny about the baby monitor! Dream feeding has been working well for me as well, definately give it a go.
Queenie - That was me talking about clicky hips. When I was in the hospital they thought Maddie had a clicky hip, but gave her the all clear. Then I took her to the Doc last week and he picked up on it again, so we are off for an ultrasound this Wed to have a look. Hopefully its nothing too serious. Bit of a bummer, but like you said it is better if they sort these things before they start walking. I'm a bit nervous about it all though. :(
Katie - Wow Logan definately gave you a good nights sleep. Lets hope it lasts! I pick Maddie up under her arms too.
Fianne - Oh driving is a nightmare isnt it. Sometimes Maddie will be calm, but most of the time she screams alot. Its funny because when we stop at the lights she really starts screaming, but when we are driving she is fine. Its to the point where I'm approaching green lights praying for them to stay green!! It's horrible to let them scream, but what can you do besides pull over every 5 mins?
Arte - The 0-5 markets sound excellent. Wish they had something like that here in Perth...as if we are so far behind! I've been trying tummy time too and it isnt Maddies favourite thing. She seems to head butt the ground alot too and doesnt seem very strong in the neck area, maybe I will ask the CHW this wed at mums group about that.
Jaz - Postage is a bummer when it comes to buying online. Sometimes I find that by the time you add the postage on, its exactly the same price as the item would be at the local shops! May as well just get in the car and you can have what you want that day. Still addicted to online shopping though!
Sherie - Hope Lindsay gets over the bug soon. Poor thing. Glad to hear Alisters skin is getting better. I went shopping on Sat at a shop called funky kids and they had a cute pillow that said Alister on it - immediately thought of you!
Gracie - Oh no cant believe you missed the wedding! Thats a shame about the FP swing, hope you kept the receipt. What a let down though, bet you were all excited to use it that day. Hey i need one of those miracle swim suits too! Oh and your av is great!
Noni - I worry about the pill as well. I've got a script from the doc for loette, but havent gone to get it yet. Really dont want to use the pill. I dont have a choice though really because condoms arent fun and I dont want another baby for awhile now.
On the topic of AF, I had my first last week. What a shock to the system, I had 9 months of bliss! Bummer.
Is anyone else too scared to dtd? I'm still freaking out, I told the Doc last week and I think he thought I was a bit of a weirdo!
Quick Question: Maddie sleeps alot during the day and sleeps through most nights, do you think I should be worried about that? How much sleep are they meant to have at this age? She just seems constantly tired lately.
Had my eyebrows waxed today, needed it, they were starting to look like caterpillars. I also bought some hair dye, because I'm feeling like a real feral lately!
-
haley - dnt worry about the sleeping as long as she is still feeding and there is no temp she is probably just having a growth spurt... ikwym about condoms neither dp or i like using them but what else is there? and if i dnt do something we could end up pregnant again and i am not ready for that!!! i am really scared about getting preg again because dp and i are anti abortion (but dnt look down on anyone who isnt just our personal feelings) but i am in no way ready for another baby i'm not saying i dnt love Asha i wouldnt change things and she was planned and everything we just couldnt handle two for a while!!!
oh and dtd deff freaking out!!! dp keeps hinting but i am brushing him off i feel so mean but i am scared its like the big v all over again haha
-
ooohh jaxmum- that's such a good idea. will definitely do it tonight, thanks
hayley- i've gotta go get my eyebrows waxed. they're so bad!! and i'm going to hairdressers next week- can't wait. don't be scared to dtd honey. you'll be fine. we've only done it twice since the birth but it was painfree and fine for me. i wouldn't worry about maddie sleeping too much- some days it seems like lewis sleeps for hours. i try to make the most of it! lol
-
noni, i feel the same about aircon use. don't want my power bill to go over the roof but at the same time, my sanity and max's comfort comes first i guess. i do try the open doors/windows trick first but when there's no breeze, there's no breeze.
and the quick showers.......same here...well, i can only shower when dp's home. but stil quick ones. and where i used to wash my hair every 2nd day, i have gone for longer periods of unwashed hair w/c wouldn't hav happened in the past. :)
-
Noni - I think you may be right about the growth spurt. Just got a bit worried because the past few days she hasnt been as playful during the day. She has been waking for feeds and drifts off while I've been feeding her, whereas most of last week I would feed her and she'd be wide awake and ready to play! Thanks for the reassurance. Dtd...so true, it is like losing your virginity all over again isnt it! DP is understanding but I dont think it'll last much longer, its been about 7 months now!!! Is that bad!?
Gracie - Thanks, i'll take your advice and make the most of it. :)
-
i just heard someone i went to school with had a stillborn baby girl... hug your bubbies extra tight ladies we are very lucky...
-
Oh Noni thats awful. My prayers are with her, I dont even want to imagine what she is going through.
On DTD the first time DH and I did it was after my 6 week check up. It was painful at first but was fine by the end, dont know if it was just because it had been 6 weeks but it was far better then I remebered lmao. Dont be scared just take it slow and use plenty of lube.
-
Hayley ~ We went for about 6 mths without DTD we tried and tried but it just didn't WORK through most of my PG and then had to wait for me to recover from C-sec, i tell you though if i had of pushed Scarlet through my VuhJayJay there wouldn't be ANYTHING going in there for like a year! Ouchies!
Noni ~ That's so sad :( I can't even imagine.
Re: the pill ~ I take Yasmin usually, I like it cause it's the only contraceptive pill that can actually help with weight loss instead of the other one's that make you put on an extra 5kg's - I always lose 5kg's when i start taking Yasmin which is awesome cause then i'll be back to my pre preg weight - My GP is a legend, she gave me 12 months worth so i don't even have to buy it - Last time i bought it i think it was like $79 for 3 months worth.
-
Oh Noni how horrible. Stillbirth is the worst, I dont know what I'd do if it happened to me. Thank you god for our beautiful healthy babies, we are SO lucky! :(
Hayley - During pregnancy (especially towards the end) it was just too hard, I couldnt even get close to DP my stomach was huuuuge. So we just gave up hehe! Someone told me Yasmin is good, I think I might ask the Doc if I can change to Yasmin. Wish it wasnt so expensive though.
-
Couldnt sleep tonight, way too hot! It’ll be another 37deg day today and we’ll have a mum’s group to go too plus William’s first needles. Hope he’ll be okay …
At home we only have a portable air-con so we can only use it in one room and it’s not as cold as the normal ones
Fianne, sometimes it’s hard to settle W in the car when I am driving alone and there is traffic! If DH driving and I am sitting behind he’ll be okay. I was told to play a cd that he loves, so far I’m still searching for that cd LOL but he’s quite good when we played ‘sounds for silence’ the other day
Katie, BIL is a nice guy but he and DH have such conflicting personalities. Lets say since he’s here, DH & I have more fight than we’d normally have in a year altogether LOL.
W has been crying real tears since he’s 2 weeks old, but I reckon they got better in crying don’t you think so? They’re really good in making you want to pick them up everytime hahaha
Arte, W will only settle for a couple of mins on his tummy but they say even one minute is better than nothing. Anyway I only put him on tummy when I remember LOL
Gracie, a wedding, what a real surprise! I hear you on everything taking 3 times longer. Hard enough to squeeze in a quick shower everyday and I think it’s been a while since I had a proper meal. Love your avatar! Not quite sure of the amount of EBM but I hope the seminar and your dp feeding lewis goes well
Noni, really sorry to hear abt your friend. Agree that we’re very lucky indeed. I thank God for everything and cant believe how my love for W grows stronger everyday, oh no I’m getting a bit emotional here …
Hayley, during our last dr apt, he told us that it’ll take 3-4 months for my wounds heal completely. At least I can buy some time before dtd, telling dh it’s the dr’s orders LOL
Have been having a bad period of hayfever this week and everytime I sneeze it’s like 6-7 times in a row. Poor W, I think I give him a shock sometimes especially when I sneeze while he’s on the breast. Sometimes he pulled off and stopped feeding :( Has anyone ever tried natural remedies for hayfever? Any suggestion?
-
Morning Yummy Mummy's :D
The dreamfeed worked! Scarlet slept all the way through from 8pm until 8am... not that it mattered i had about 2hrs sleep all last night ~ The couple next door had a massive fight, they went on and on and on screaming at each other and arguing they started at like 9pm and just kept going! :wall: - She even pushed her boyfriend off the balcony - They have a 5mth old bub and he was screaming his head off, poor little fella ~ They've only just stopped. THANK GOD ! I was getting ready to go and push them both off thier balcony.
I never thought i'd be glad that when Shannon and i aren't getting along we just don't speak for a day or two.
..anyway..
Mum just informed me that we're having chrissie here for the family - took a while for me to warm to it but now i'm all excited, It'll be fun to do the whole decorating and preparing thing - putting the tree up tonight - :D which reminds me, does anyone have any gift ideas for 12,10 and 8 year old girls? The little ones are so easy to buy for but the big ones are getting difficult.
Hope you all had nice sleepy bubbas last night
~ Hayley xx
-
hello :hello:
seems i have started leaking again??? its been about 2wks or so since i have had no milk at all not even a tiny drip but last night the boob that used to leak the most has been leaking a bit?? any ideas why that would happen???
Asha is asleep, she usually wakes at 10 every morning but she didn't sleep that well before her 3am feed so maybe shes catching up.. as far as sleeping through the night goes she feeds at 9:30 - 10:30 then again at 2:30 - 3:30 then goes through till 10 or today its 11 and shes not up yet.. i bet as soon as i make some breaky she'll wake up and start winging lol shes good for weight loss always winging when i want to eat lol...
lp - wow 8pm to 8am thats impressive!!! that poor little 5mth old imagine not being able to tell them to stop itd be so distressing for the little one... glad they have stopped now and u can get some peace.. good to hear scarlet can sleep through it too..
Agnes it was sooo hot here yesterday too and i woke up at 8am breifly and it was already too hot for the blanket i am worried about what that means the day will be like..
haley - idk what id do either.. dnt think i could survive something like that... we gave up at the end of pregnancy too (dtd) too much effort to think of ways to get around the belly lol...
katie - hope its not just because its been so long lol ive heard lots of ppl find it better after having a babay but lots go the other way too...
-
Too much to talk about in here today!
Contraception - *TMI* have the minipill script but really don't want to try it - not worth taking it everyday for the few and far between occasions we DTD - not long until DH sees the Vet haha to take it like a man - we're sticking with condoms (yuck I hear you all say but the non-latex ones are much better than the other sort).
LP - did you think about ringing the police - worth it if it's escalating and sounds like it might turn to violence...at the very least it's a noise issue!!
Hayley haha ASIO could recruit you to be a suburban spy ...keeping track of terrorism with your baby monitor :cryinglaugh:! Ours beeps when the mother unit's turned off...but did you consider it might work the other way - can they hear what's coming thru your baby monitor on their phone (might be worth changing channels if you can)!
Queenie, how are you going hun?
Gracie - I want to read that one too, I've requested the library to buy a copy!
Fianne, sometimes E wakes up happy :) and sometimes wakes up crying. I guess we all wake up happy some times and grumpy other times or some ppl just wake up grumpy all the time!
Noni, I understand the BBs can continue producing milk for quite a while after weaning, maybe your menstrual cycle has stimulated it a bit?
Gracie don't be hard on yourself for being late for your friend's wedding, it just happens that way sometimes when you have a family. xx
Katie and Leanne, did you stock up on chocolate or timtams before your DH's left this week - I have a packet of violet crumble burning a hole in the pantry...uh oh reminds me it's DDay (dietician day) tmrw and I have been baaaaaad for about three weeks now. Feel so pudgey I have no idea if I've lost or gained or neither.
Feeling exhausted today. Finally got E's appt at the physio lined up for next week. Will ask about her clicky shoulder while I'm there too.
-
Typing with one hand, bub in the other!!
Noni - I had leaky boobies too a couple of wks after switching to FF. It was strange, but it stopped a couple of days later.
Hayley - Wow that is great sleeping from Scarlet! I'm suprised she didnt wake with all that fighting going on! I dont understand how they couldnt be embarrassed, surely they knew everyone could hear what was going on!? Christmas...you are brave! :) No it will be great fun.
Agnes - The hot weather is horrible. Have you got any of the summer grobags for Will? I got a couple for Maddie, they are pretty good, but to tell you the truth i dont know if they are worth the money you pay, as I find Maddie is equally happy covered in a light sheet. I've never had hay fever, sorry cant help there!
Off to get some more nappies today & formula. Usually buy huggies infants, but someone told me babylove and snugglers are just as good and cheaper. Has anyone used either??
-
Used babylove and snugglers right through with DD1 (huggies were too exxy at the time) and had no problems with them. Plus I found out that Huggies dumps all their seconds nappies straight into landfill whereas other manufacturers sell them as seconds (which can be a cheap way to get nappies those of you on a budget in Syd or Melb). I couldn't get over all that waste. Keep an eye on the BigW catalogue as you can often get the big box (snugglers) for around $25 when they're on special.
-
Thanks MD, I'll pop down to Big W and have a look. DP was trying to convince me to get the snugglers on Sat but I said no because I didnt know anything about them. Then he came home yesterday saying someone at work has always used babylove and says they are great.
-
MD - I didn't even think of them being able to hear us! LMAO They'd be constantly listening to 'HUWWO BEWTIFUL GIWL' - 'HAVE YOU GOT A YUKKY NAPPY, LET'S CHANGE YOUR YUKKY NAPPY, ooOOoOOo COLD WIPEY'S'... The moniter only has 2 channels - I'll have a go at the other one.
Yum Violet Crumble - I've been so good, no choccies since i had bub... Saving all my choccie space for xmas! haha
Hayley - I've also only ever used huggies, I keep going to buy the less expensive ones to try but i always end up putting them back. I hate that the infant size doesn't come in a big box! but i notice that snugglers have big boxes of them, way cheaper too.
Noni- Can't give you any advice on your leaking BB's but i'm right there with you on the waking up thing - I swear Scarlet has this secret ability to just 'know' when i'm about to sit down and have a coffee or a snack... or she'll sleep and sleep until i pick up the clothes basket and start heading for the clothes line.

lol Hayley isn't funny to think that they talk about nappies, formula and sleep routines at work?.. DF is an engineer and works with a bunch of very manly men but every afternoon he comes home with advice on something baby related, I can just imagine them all on thier lunch break all sweaty and dirty, drinking a beer, eating a meat pie and discussing which nappies have the cutest pattern!
-
i think it just depends what works best for ur bub.. sometimes different brands fit differently on certain bubs n whatever but i knw my aunt used to use no name nappies n swore they were just as good on her boys as any other nappy... if u wanna switch the only way to find out is buy a small pack n try it or find someone whos willing to give u a few... ive heard of mums groups buying a pack of each n then swapping them round to see which ones worked best... good luck!

lol lp i have to take Ash to the clothes line with me haha she never sleeps through that i just take her bouncer outside n put it in a shady spot lol

Someone told me to get the cheap brand ones to use during the day and keep the huggies for night or going out and times when you can't change them as often.
lol noni - I clip the moniter and the phone to my waist and walk around like a secret agent.
-
Nappy wise I prefer Babylove. Huggies are good too but Babylove seem to fit him better. I just bought a pack of Snugglers, but I don't like them at all and won't buy them again.
-
Has anyone noticed the box of huggies wipes (80) are cheaper than the refils for the box (also 80)? - I have the stupid boxes everywhere because someone asked me to keep them for something and i don't remember who or why...lol.
-
LP Hang on to a few of those boxes, they are great later on for storing crayons, stamps, craft bits, etc. BTW cracked right up at what your neighbours must be hearing thru the monitor - H cracked right up too when I read it out to her! My two are having a play on the quilt right now, my heart runneth over~!

god i feel like such a loser i just had a complete melt down lol... u see i was trying to make meat loaf but forgot to put in eggs or breadcrumbs so it wasnt very loafy lol i lost the plot over it crying and telling dp to give me back his plate so i could make something else even though there was nothing wrong with what i made i mean it wouldnt have been as good as if i did it properly but it was just meat and veges and stuff lol... then when i fed Asha she only drank 50mls and then proceeded to scream louder than i have ever heard her scream for half an hour before i put her in the bouncer turned it on and she went to sleep... then i proceeded to tell dp that Asha dosn't like me because shed prefer to be in her bouncer then held by me... gosh hope i dnt have anything like that happen when i am on my own with her... still feeling really emotional and overwhelmed by everything that has to be done around the house and then theres the added pressure that tmw is ww wednesday and i must get out for a walk gosh i'll be lucky to get that shower in tonight!!! i feel like such an idiot!!!
lol lp hopefully that person turns up soon to take those boxes off your hands.. hadnt noticed about the wipes thing we use johnsons wipes and buy them in the bulk boxes at big w you get 6 packets i think in the box of 80 wipe packs for $22 or something like that.. i find them softer than huggies..

Noni your not a looser. I had a melt down about an hour ago, must be something in the air. I think it is healthy to just have a big cry sometimes and get it all out, you end up feeling tones better.
back later Mr Magoo would like to eat.
