Hey Joasia - Alex is gorgeous - i love the photos you have taken. He looks so comfortable in his basket.
re the snot sucker - it is also known as a nasal aspirator. I got mine in the box with the Fess saline nose drops. It really is great for getting out those hard-to-reach snotties.

Jaz - thanks for that, nasal aspirator - got it. Yees, I've been looking into Alex's nose, there's a gold mine in there heheh was wondering how to get all those goodies out

I have not lost ANY weight since the birth, well 2kg that went with the baby, but that's about it, I've been sitting on +10kg of extra and I'm feeling HUGE! All tha breastfeeding and no weight loss in 4 weeks! I'm destined to be a lard-a**e mumzilla rather than a yummy mummy I was hoping for. AND we are going to a wedding on Sunday - ghaaa! I have NOTHING to wear, it's all too small!! So far 2 choices - trackies and T shirt OR fluffy dressing gown...decisions, decisions oh yeah, then there are the prgnancy clothes...*sigh*

    Hi Ladies

Well DH and I had a rest afternoon this afternoon - he's been letting me sleep in most mornings but is looking a bit haggard cos he gets up to change Elisabeth and then rocks her back to sleep most times when I'm finished feeding...anyway Elisabeth got up for a feed half way thru but settled back down so we got a bonus hour after that! DD1s last day of school today so fewer naps from here on in!

Joasia - I agree with Jazmum's muslin trick - we always have a flannelette wrap with us so I've very clumsily used that (draped over shoulder) a couple of times but don't intend to hide under there forever LOL! OK, so bleeding 4 weeks after birth warrants ABs?...I'm gonna remember that in a couple of weeks time as the heavens have opened *again* today and shows no signs of abating.

ETA - definitely go with the fluffy dressing gown for the wedding...very Zsa Zsa Gabor!

Leanne - are you looking forwards to going back to work or dreading it? I'm dreading going back to work even tho it's months away LOL. It's great your mum has them - I've always envied ppl who have family to care for their kids! Enjoy your shopping.

Cally hope those cracked nipples clear up quickly for you... I've got one that's still really sore - if E latches on wrong, she sucks so hard and hurts it before I can get her off (her first words will probably be swear words cos I tend to say them a lot in this situation). I'm really looking forwards to getting to the point where it doesn't hurt anymore (still a few weeks away I think). That's excellent news that you have "graduated" from the midwife to the MCH nurses!

Noni - so good to see you back in here and hope Asha keeps up the excellent sleeping pattern!

Arte, that's nice that William is awake for stretches in the day! Half an hour is pretty much all that E can handle and usually only once or twice a day.

Jazmum - that's terrible about the chocolate - one square! I think you should give that midwife a good hard slap next time you see her LOL.

Sherie, nice that A has fallen into a sleeping pattern but like you say no doubt it will change soon enough! With DD1 I often wanted to bring her into to bed but I am always paranoid about smothering her so it's never as restful as it should be!

Katie - CHRISTMAS shopping - mymy you are organised!

I've been meaning to ask all the CS ladies - has your scar/wound been itchy - mine has started to itch these last couple of days but I'm not sure if it's pube regrowth or a good sign that it's healing (FINALLY)! Took my last AB pill this afternoon, bit nervous about it going pear-shaped once they're finished.

ETA - Meant to ask Renee how you're going...are you still on the ABs and is your tummy/appetite a bit better now?

MD - no itching for me. It's pretty dry though so I am putting sorbolene on after a shower.

Joasia - I also dream that I have smothered DD with the doona and she hasn't even been in bed with me yet!! I have hardly left the house yet - can't imagine going to a wedding.

Planning on spending most of the day in bed today. We were back on 3hr feeds laqst night and had a very unsettled evening. My sisters are coming down tomorrow so I want to be reasonably normal for that visit.

Only 240g to go to get back to birth weight! Will be slow, but we'll get there.

    Hi All
Hope you are all doing well - I am having a bit of a home day today - we have been doing heaps of going out and I think I need to take it easier - more for me than for Noah LOL!
Cally I hear you with the 3 hourly feeds, that's standard around here and it is exhausting - even less hours between feeds during the day...
I have posted my bith story if you are interested to have a look...

    Have a great day everyone.

Pregpan - your birth story is amazing!! It was as if i was reading a novel - i was getting excited when i was reading the part where you're in the car - and your dh speeds up - i got covered in goose bumps!!!
Cally- i hope you get the rest you need today. I could go a sleep today too - Hannah has been restless since 4:30 this morning. (might have something to do with all of the creamy biscuits i've been consuming!)

OK, I've been really comforted by everyone's dreams - it seems I'm not the only mum who's paranoid about smothering babies - We bought a baby carrier from the second hand place the other day and E was in it last night and I just couldn't take my eye off her cos the sides were sort of ****y and she likes to lie with her head turned facing the sides - so anyway we took it back today and exchanged it for a less ****y one. *Marydean breathes a sigh of relief* Elisabeth sleeps really deeply so I'm constantly checking that she's still breathing! (I was like this with DD1 too)

Noni, glad you got to see your friend again before she left - and congrats on your first trip out (little milestone)!

Jazmum - hope Hannah settles ok for you tonight...that's amazing that you see such a clear connection between what you eat and how settled/unsettled she is.

Pregpan - what a good idea a home day is! Yes Noah's only brand new and you need to take care of yourself!

Cally - hope you're enjoying your day in bed...I'm sure you'll have a ball when your sisters arrive!

*Looks like it's another Marydean party in here!*

OK ladies - just wanted to share another little milestone - after watching DH "sling up" with Miss E all week, I have finally summoned up the courage to wear her in the sling myself! I was worried about the pressure on my abdomen but it's actually quite comfy...went for the Baby Bjorn to start with (since I know how to operate it) but I'll be getting out the HAB instructions soon and there will be No Stopping Me Then!

    Morning ladies,

thought I would come in here and have a quick vent. DH had some friends around last night, now I knew he would have a few drinks and I wasnt bothered. I got to bed about 12.30-1am after feeding logan this morning. Dh comes to bed at around 2am even though I had asked him to sleep in the spare room as I knew he would stink of alcohol in the morning and I pull Logan into bed with me. 2.30am he decides he needs to be sick, he is not a quiet chucker. He has been laying on the couch all morning while I clean up his party and settle Logan, meanwhile Logan is sitting 3 feet from him and i am in another room. To top it off we were meant to go to a friends house to watch footy this afternoon but he is to sick. Grrr stupid men.

    Ok I feel better now.

Marydean I put Logan in the baby bjorn the other day, he didnt like it much. I am thinking about getting a HAB so let me know how it goes.

You're not alone in here now Marydean LOL.

I had a somewhat ordinary afternoon yesterday. Master A was quite windy and took a while to settle down to sleep. Luckily when he did sleep it ws for a few hours so I had time to get the other kids bathed and fed and did the washing, vacuuming and washing up after dinner. Got the kids into bed and popped on here for a bit while I waited for him to wake up. In the end I woke him up at 9.30 as I needed to bath him and I didn't want him to wake at some ungodly hour and be hard to settle again. Thankfully he was ok with it and settled quickly after his feed at 10.30. He is fine again today though and DH has finished nightshift so he will be here tonight if things go pear shaped again. I am dog tired though so hopefully DH can take the big kids for a bit this afternoon so I can sleep.

Marydean, What sling are you using? I am enjoying the kapoochi, but it would be great to have something to just pop them in quickly kwim?

Katie, I would be a wee bit cranky too if I were you. I don't begrudge DH having a few beers, but I still expect him to be reasonable kwim?

Noni, I'm happy to hear you are all settling in nicely together. And Yay for the little outing too. It's nice to get out and about with a new bubs.

Sherie - We have a Baby Bjorn - (bought second hand) and it is really easy to get E in and out by myself.

Katie - yep I'd be mad too! Drag him out to football this afternoon so that he SUFFERS I say!

Well had a nice visit with sisters today, but am already missing mum as K is insisting on sleeping in my arms, not the bassinet so am not getting my afternoon nap. DH is asleep, but don't want to wake him because I know he will take over the evening shift and I can sleep then!!

    Pregpan - great birth story!

MD - we have a baby bjorn too which I am looking forward to using once she gets up to 3.5kg. We got the Active version as it has more back support.

Sherie - hope you got some afternoon sleep.

Noni - glad you got a final catch up with your friend before she heads off.

I did get a small snooze in, but it was with Master A in my arms LOL. I went to sleep with him in the lounge chair (recliner). It's quite comfy to sleep like that with him. Trouble was, even though DH was there, the kids keep pestering me for things, so it wasn't solid sleep, but better than nothing.

I hope Katie doesn't give you a rough night after having visitors. Glad you had a nice visit with your sisters too.

Hi Mo and welcome! Maddison is just gorgeous - I love her hair, it wont be long and you'll be able to put cute little clips in it.

Leanne, When I go out I always buy stuff for the kids instead of myself. I'm rather glad that there is such a poor selection of clothes for boys at times, cause I spend enough on the two girls I've got already LOL. Are you still feeling sore?

And time for a new thread too everyone
