None of mine were ever keen on tummy time
Unfort my grandad passed away late yesterday evening.
I'm so glad he was able to hold on long enough to see Zoe a few times. His great grandchildren meant the world to him

You can start tummy time whenever you like... we did some yesterday and she seemed to enjoy it!! She's got quite good neck control for such a little bub!
I have a disposable change mat under her at all times! HAHA.... cheeky monkeys!
Nipples are OK.... with DD1 I had cracked/sore nipples all the time.. she wasn't a very good feeder, so in the end I was expressing her feeds. did that for a few months! This time we are doing so much better! just a little tender around the areola every so often!

Wilder slept 8 hours straight last night, 8:30-4:30, and yet I'm still so tired even though I slept from 9:30. I forgot how much giving birth takes out of you.
GO WILDER!! I am very jealous He needs to speak to Georgia It does take a while to catch up on sleep, sometimes after a big sleep you feel even more tired too. No idea why but I do anyway lol
Beatrix hope your first day solo and back to school is going smoothly for you.
Its taken me til baby #4 to get a good sleeper from birth! And I am extremely grateful considering I have the three boys to contend with and they only started sleeping all night about a year ago! That said I know that sleep can be tenuous when you have a baby, so I will enjoy it while it lasts incase he decides sleep is for the weak in a few months
Lucky u with the sleep Freya!! Zoe is shocking!! 2hrs at the most atm, and now it seems her tummy is upset as its grumbling so much and she is farting liken crazy, but so unsettled. i have just collected a amby hammock from the local hire place in hope it helps!!
Wilder is a farter/pooper as well. He loves his hammock, I am really curious to know if that's what's helping him sleep so well but I'm too scared to test the bassinet out to see if it changes anything I've never used a hammock before so I have nothing to compare it too! Stellan was a 2 hourly waker, drove me insane. Hopefully it helps Zoe!
How long can you use the hammock for? As in what age would they grow out of it? I don't have room or spare dollars really, but if there's a chance it could help with longer periods of sleep I might have to scrape together funds and make room!
Willow- I think about 9 months they recommend. I hired it for $75 for 3 months (hire for baby, franchises all around Au, so might be one near you) . Ebay do have a cheaper version buy it now with free delivery for $99, but I just was desperate and didnt want to wait for delivery and couldn't afford the $300+ for brand new amby
So far she has been asleep in it for 45min, which is the longest she has let us put her down all day!! Poor thing is all snotty too
we didnt have sleep through like freya but we had sleep, on her own in the hammock. Feeding every 4hrs still but not waking at all in between!! So Im pleased with that effort, since poor thing is all congested and snotty plus the belly issues.
Sounds good! I am very tempted. I hope Zoe's nose clears soon for her too. It's probably dripping down and upsetting her tummy
Georgia is overstimulated his morning. She loves the curtains and the pattern on the lounge and has looked at them and talked to them so much she now can't relax and go to sleep. I moved to the rocking chair to try to get her where she couldn't see them then she found a pot plant to look at grrr. I've got the MACH nurse coming for a weigh this afternoon, I haven't had a shower or brushed my teeth yet so feeling really grotty. I'm really hoping she'll go to sleep soon.
That's awesome progress Bea! I think the cosiness of the hammock and the fact they tend to sit a bit upright helps with the sleep. That and when they startle it rocks them back to sleep.
They say to stop using it when they can roll but that said I know people whose kids have used it up to 18mths.
MACH nurse came Georgia has put on 330gms this week. At least I know the constant feeding is doing something! Still a big stretch of sleep at night would be great. DS3 threw a huge tantrum while the nurse was here too. All because I ate the last piece of cake, so that was fun lol pretty much having to yell at each other over the top of him for the last few minutes of the visit
I forgot DS3 was due a 3 year developmental check too she reminded me while she was here, oops, bad mummy.
Willow- awesome weight gain!! ahh you been kinda busy so forgetting isn't to bad!!
AFM- ahhh Mizz Zoe was a PITA last night. Shes sleeping well once she is asleep but at her 3:30am feed she decided it was wake time and would not go back to sleep for 2hrs. I forget how frustrated and tired you get. In the end I stuck her in the hammock and went and laid down in the lounge and what doe she do for the first time ver? whinge a tiny bit and nod off to sleep on her own!!! No rocking or booby required.
