Beatrix I just ordered 3 pens from Vistaprint. It's funny because I have ordered stuff from them before and when I checked my emails today they had sent me a voucher for $30 off my next order. So I ordered 3 of the ones you can choose a design on, not the engraved ones. I got 3 different designs with her name and a line saying 'Thank you for a beautiful birth' So great idea, thank you I'll also get some chocies too, so completely ripped off your ideas
I got the $30 voucher too and the other day they had up to 50% off some products so brough my girls each a personlised tshirt with best big/little sister and their names. for 4 shirts only paid $10 postage and that was it the tops were free LOL
Bargain! Another good idea too The pens were free too, just had to pay postage, I feel a bit scabby seeing as they were free, but it is the thought that counts isn't it? Does paying the postage count?
I may not get to see my midwife, I'll drop the pressies into the Birth Centre but if she's not there when I do then I won't know if she likes them or not. But again it's the thought that counts, and I think it's a cool idea, especially when they always carry a diary, note book paperwork etc and need a pen too. So thanks again
If one more person asks when we are having another baby or my very well meaning friends keep hinting thati should totally have one more and not believe me when I say I'm done.........I may go postal! At this point in time I am happy with the way things are and even if we did want one more, Wilder is only 3 weeks old! Not the time to be thinking about it when I'm happy enjoying him.
Wow Freya they're not giving you much babymoon time are they. Far out like you say you want to enjoy Wilder now not be planning TTC! At least let you get past the post partem bleeding and sleep deprivation, because those things make me want to get down to it and be baby dancing already for number 5, NOT! Why is it people think they can tell you what you want as well? That always puzzles me, and annoys me. It's like when I was pg, the last two times everyone assumed I was desperate to have a girl after all boys and did not believe that I had no preference and just wanted a healthy baby I think we talked about that a while back but it's the same thing and does your head in.
I hear you Freya, I've banned DH from even joking about another baby until I can walk, stand and sit like normal and not be in pain. Like you I've already had a few comments re the next one (which we might never want or have) and I don't want to hear it right now!!
Hope you all had a good weekend, maybe with an extra pair of hands around to help you. I sure appreciated having DH there (he was back at work since last Wed), and today he flies interstate for work and I won't see him again until very late Thursday :-( I'm very lucky to have my Mum here from interstate to help me get through it though, so should be ok. Hope Owen remembers him when he gets back.
i get you Freya!! we are getting the same thing! and of course its followed by the have to try for a boy crap!! People really don't believe me when I say Im happy with my 4 girls
Had Wilder's stats checked today. 3085g, 51cm long, 36cm head. So still little but getting there. So in 3 weeks post birth that's a 5cm length increase, 3cm head increase and 550g weight increase.
We were discharged from my midwife program on Monday, sad day as the midwives were amazing!!!
Zoe's a little piggy, gained another 260 grams in 4 days. She now weights 4660 grams, head circ is 36.5 cm not sure on length will be measured on Monday with MCHN app.
She is doing pretty well otherwise, sleeps pretty decent at night. still feeding every 4-5hrs so means I can be up once or twice a night depending on what time she has her last feed.
That's great growing Freya! 5cm length and 3cm HC is a lot I'd say! BM is good for their brains looks like Wilder's going to be a tall genius
Beatrix I know the feeling on being discharged, very sad More great growing with Zoe too! So do you think the Amby has helped with her sleep then?
Georgia is doing well we haven't had another weigh yet but I can feel she's getting bigger. Sleeping still isn't great, up 3-5 times at night. Tonight we've had our second night of crying for 2 hours, about 7pm until 9pm DS3 had a similar pattern but starting later and lasting longer most nights and it went on for a few months I think, I'm really hoping this isn't the beginning of months of this again I'm thinking maybe reflux too but not sure of the exact things to look for with it. Has anyone had a reflux bub? I didn't think reflux was isolated to one time of day but then again none of my others have had it so I don't really have much idea.
Willow- def think its helped with her delft once she is asleep. She seriously sometimes fights sleep so bad though. Like right about now. I have spent the last hr trying to get her to sleep after her feed, she won't take a dummy, doesn't comfort suck on me, Is yawning like crazy and slowly nodding off then all of a sudden eyes wide wide open again.
Friggen hate this, specially middle of the night. I'm so tired.
I don't know about reflux, my eldest had it but she screamed all day and night til she was put on meds. Barely slept for the first 6 weeks with her
Willow- I had something similar with DD1... cried every night for 3-4months from about 6:30-8pm!! not much you can do!... we got a swing for her that sometimes worked to settle her and she slept A LOT in that!!!
Beatrix- we are fighting sleep here also... thankfully it isn't at night yet!!
We are going well... gaining weight as I can feel her chunking up!.. We have MCHN on Tuesday! The only thing that's starting to get annoying is the posseting!!... Is anyone else having similar spit up issues!?? I get her burped... maybe twice, then put her down and she continues to spit up... sometimes it's milk, sometimes it looks curdled! (yuck) sometimes it's like clear water!!!
Has everyone's bleeding/spotting stopped?? Mine is a bit off and on still.... don't know whether this was because of my "issue" after or it's normal!... Can't remember with DD1!
Beatrix glad the Amby helps once she is asleep, bummer about the fighting sleep. My eldest was a sleep fighter too it was hard! Then once he was finally asleep he'd wake when you were trying to put him down, like half way between you and the cot Sorry I'm not much help, the only thing that worked was to sleep with him.
Harri So far Georgia isn't a big chucker. She does sometime and it can be milky, curdly and watery.
My bleeding has been more just light tan coloured the last few days so nearly finished, Georgia is 4 weeks today.
well feeling better re the bleeding then!.. I just feel like it's never ending!!... I have been light tan for a couple days... but yesterday afternoon had a small bit of dark red.. today it's tan with a bit of dark red/brown on wiping!..... arg! the joys... 4 weeks tomorrow!!!
Thank you Beatrix re the WW!! I've been saying for two days I need to grab my WW Book and see where we're at, that could explain Georgia's screaming for two hours each night too then ... I will grab the book still it really helps to know what and why, it's still hard but at least there's a reason and you know it will pass. Not sure what this leap is but I did notice last night she seems to be trying to get her hands to work for her.
Harri my bleeding went from tan to spots or dark last week too so sounds pretty normal Ah yes the joys lol
