If it were me I probably wouldn't go for either of those Harri, but that's just me. I would want one with an in built harness as long as possible and I'm not a fan of the H harness. I would be more comfortable with an Infa Secure - Securefit rather than an H harness(protecta plus), but the Securafit can only be used with compatible Infa boosters. The H harness won't be legal to use soon they will be phasing it out with backless boosters. The incidence of misuse is too high and dangerous to the kids in accidents. I'd be looking at the SnS Maxi Rider Easy Adjust or one of the Infa Secure convertible boosters. I like the look of the Comfi Caprice but have heard people rave about the Ralley as well.

Why would you not go for one of the top two on the list?? just wondering! I understand about the built in harness.. but she's outgrown the one in her Maxi-rider, which is why I went the protecta plus until I decide on what seat to get her! She'll be 6 in December.

When are they phasing out the protecta plus?

It'll be a while Harri don't stress too much, just make sure you be careful and use it extra carefully to the T with the instructions, there have been some very scary outcomes when not used properly and it happens often.
I wouldn't go for those IF I could fit her in one with and inbuilt harness, and second to that I'd rather an Infa with the Securafit. I wish they'd had them available for my older two. They went into boosters and could never sit still for a whole car trip if we'd had an accident there's no way they would have been ok a booster and adult belt only works properly if they can pass the 5 step test and one requirement of that is to sit still the whole trip. As soon as the belt placement is out it won't work properly.
Which Maxi did she grow out of? Is it the older one or the Easy Adjust? I know people with 7 year olds still harnessed in them
I'm just super paranoid about car safety it's my thing, I'm slack with most other things lol everyone's got at least one 'thing' don't they?
CREP is good but lacks in the fact that not all seats are tested so there's no way to compare the newer seats released after they test. So while it's good for a reference I wouldn't not buy a seat because it wasn't tested. but it is hard to not use it when two seats you're looking at are on there for sure! I would also suggest trying them both in your car before you decide too. If one doesn't fit properly, even if it's the top rated one, it won't work to it's full potential in an accident. The best seat is always the seat that fits your child and your car

The Five Step Test This is for when moving out of a booster, but, if they can't manage most of the same things in a booster with adult belt the are also at risk.

DB I have a Unimom Forte hospital grade pump I love it it's much more comfortable than the one I borrowed with DS3 too, that probably helps with getting a good flow too.

Beatrix rolling woohoo!!! Not even close here lol Georgia's arm/shoulder/neck has improved a bit since Chiro which is good. We have a couple of exercises to do with her and you can see the improvement with those too He did his initial examination and then looked at me already knowing the answer, 'Tummy time?' lol Ooops sprung! So one exercise is when we're carrying her we need to carry her lying belly down on our arm, that way she does the same head and neck lifting as she would if she was having tummy time on the floor, but she's not so stressed so doesn't crack it after 10 seconds.

Thanks for the info Willow, I like to hear your opinion on these seats!...

No it's the old Maxi-Rider... that doesn't adjust! So I don't know if i want to spend the money on a new Adjust if it is only going to last her a year.. Sure Eleni could use it too, but by the time she's into it there may be other better seats available!.. So you think it's better to get an INFA seat with their harness?? which one?

I think i'm going to be taking off the H harness after what I just read on the Vic roads site! Wish I had read it before buying the silly thing!!

I think they shouldn't be allowed to sell them really it sux they even do. Infa Secure used to have their own and stopped sale of them after the findings. Britax aren't so considerate You don't hear much about it because they are still legal to sell and use for the moment.
The new Maxis are good seats but very expensive! The Infa Secure Caprices are much cheaper with high markers, but maybe a bit more expensive than the ones you're looking at. They know how to make their money! Grrrr

I am happy to go the higher priced one if it will last longer!!

So do you think I should go the Travel Max (it has the higher height markers) with the secure fit?

I probably would Harri. If you're not comfortable with just the adult lap belt I would def go with the Securafit rather than the H harness and it will give you longer use with the high markers.

I'm not sure, different shops may use different names though, just to confuse everyone! They not long gave their site a refurb though so I wouldn't think they changed the name since. I'll see what I can find too.

I'm guessing you tried the postcode store finder on their site already? It doesn't always show all stores though :/

It is a bit overwhelming Harri! I still want to stress that the safest car seat is the one that fits your child and your car the best. So if you can sit your DD in each seat you like with or without Securafit, and she fits better or is more comfortable in one without the Securafit and you trust she can sit still the whole trip and not move the belt then go with one of your first choices from CREP results. If you aren't confident about using only the adult belt I'd go the Securafit. Same as getting a good fit in your car, if the seat doesn't sit right maybe a different one is better.
So many variables!! Sorry hope I haven't just confused you more.

We had two nights of sleeping 10pm to 5am, yay! But missy has been asleep for nearly two hours now whereas she was awake playing the last two nights. I wonder what tonight will bring? I just long for consistency! *Sigh* Oh well could be worse, but the suspense is killing me

No you haven't confused me more you are making complete sense!!..... will have to just put up with it for a few days until I can take her to try them out!... school holidays over!! *sigh*

Great sleeping there!!..... Eleni has been doing 9ish to 5am lately but yesterday she had her last feed at 7pm and slept from about 8:30pm-3am (top up feed), which works better than 5am for me because she wakes then some time between 6-6:30am for a feed/poo then she's dressed/asleep and ready for school drop off by 7am!.. I have a chance to get dressed have breakie before DD1 wakes up at 7:30-:45am!!

I have accepted there wont be any GREAT consistency until they start solids.... Have anyone decided when they will start??

Willow- that's great sleeps! How are her day ones going!

Harri- Zoe won't be having any solids until she is 6 months and then it will be pretty much baby led solids like over cooked/mooshy stick hand foods she can do herself.

I dont know when we will start solids. I did it at 4mths with the older two because I didnt know any better; with Ds3 I let him decide and he was exclusively breastfed til 8mths when he finally started to show interest in food. We do baby led solids anyway so its nothing structured they just eat what we eat when they want too. But bub avidly watches us eat right now so who knows.

I do have to confess the other night Wilder was crying during dinner (Dh was away) and I put a little bit of creamed potato on his dummy and put it in his mouth Kept him quiet sucking away on it long enough to let me finish eating. I feel so guilty about it!

And someone tell me your secret for day napping! Wilder sleeps fantastic overnight but doesnt sleep much during the day. So by 4pm he is overtired and ridiculously upset.
