No it's the old Maxi-Rider... that doesn't adjust! So I don't know if i want to spend the money on a new Adjust if it is only going to last her a year.. Sure Eleni could use it too, but by the time she's into it there may be other better seats available!.. So you think it's better to get an INFA seat with their harness?? which one?

I think i'm going to be taking off the H harness after what I just read on the Vic roads site! Wish I had read it before buying the silly thing!! :(

I think they shouldn't be allowed to sell them really it sux they even do. Infa Secure used to have their own and stopped sale of them after the findings. Britax aren't so considerate :( You don't hear much about it because they are still legal to sell and use for the moment.
The new Maxis are good seats but very expensive! The Infa Secure Caprices are much cheaper with high markers, but maybe a bit more expensive than the ones you're looking at. They know how to make their money! Grrrr

I am happy to go the higher priced one if it will last longer!! :)

So do you think I should go the Travel Max (it has the higher height markers) with the secure fit?

I probably would Harri. If you're not comfortable with just the adult lap belt I would def go with the Securafit rather than the H harness and it will give you longer use with the high markers.

I'm not sure, different shops may use different names though, just to confuse everyone! :wall: They not long gave their site a refurb though so I wouldn't think they changed the name since. I'll see what I can find too.

I'm guessing you tried the postcode store finder on their site already? It doesn't always show all stores though :/

It is a bit overwhelming Harri! I still want to stress that the safest car seat is the one that fits your child and your car the best. So if you can sit your DD in each seat you like with or without Securafit, and she fits better or is more comfortable in one without the Securafit and you trust she can sit still the whole trip and not move the belt then go with one of your first choices from CREP results. If you aren't confident about using only the adult belt I'd go the Securafit. Same as getting a good fit in your car, if the seat doesn't sit right maybe a different one is better.

We had two nights of sleeping 10pm to 5am, yay! But missy has been asleep for nearly two hours now whereas she was awake playing the last two nights. I wonder what tonight will bring? I just long for consistency! *Sigh* Oh well could be worse, but the suspense is killing me :p

No you haven't confused me more :) you are making complete sense!!..... will have to just put up with it for a few days until I can take her to try them out!... school holidays over!! *sigh*

Great sleeping there!!..... Eleni has been doing 9ish to 5am lately but yesterday she had her last feed at 7pm and slept from about 8:30pm-3am (top up feed), which works better than 5am for me because she wakes then some time between 6-6:30am for a feed/poo then she's dressed/asleep and ready for school drop off by 7am!.. I have a chance to get dressed have breakie before DD1 wakes up at 7:30-:45am!!


I have accepted there wont be any GREAT consistency until they start solids.... Have anyone decided when they will start??

Willow- that's great sleeps! How are her day ones going!

Harri- Zoe won't be having any solids until she is 6 months and then it will be pretty much baby led solids like over cooked/mooshy stick hand foods she can do herself.

I dont know when we will start solids. I did it at 4mths with the older two because I didnt know any better; with Ds3 I let him decide and he was exclusively breastfed til 8mths when he finally started to show interest in food. We do baby led solids anyway so its nothing structured they just eat what we eat when they want too. But bub avidly watches us eat right now so who knows.

I do have to confess the other night Wilder was crying during dinner (Dh was away) and I put a little bit of creamed potato on his dummy and put it in his mouth :redface: Kept him quiet sucking away on it long enough to let me finish eating. I feel so guilty about it!

And someone tell me your secret for day napping! Wilder sleeps fantastic overnight but doesnt sleep much during the day. So by 4pm he is overtired and ridiculously upset.

Eleni is showing a lot of interest in what we are eating, which is why I asked the question in the first place!... DD1 was the same and was screaming for what we had by 4 months!...

Freya- Eleni has already had a lick of apple, pear and cherries! So don't feel guilty!!... couldn't stop licking her lips and asking for more!..DD1 never really did the mushed food, I just grated or soft boiled it mostly!... then by 10 months she was eating whatever we had!

Day sleeps- we aren't very consistent here during the day... I just try to put her down when I see she's yawning... sometimes she sleeps...sometimes she wants a top up before going to sleep.... sometimes I need to put her in the swing late afternoon!...sometimes she doesn't sleep at all!!... But I find on the days when she has done more day sleeping, she doesn't sleep as long at night before waking for a feed! it depends!

We'll be looking at solids at 6 months same as DS. We BLS as well. The recommendations are a bit wishy washy around solids I think, they've changed so many times back and forth since 1994 when I had my oldest DS. So I am just going to follow Georgia's lead with BLS. If she is showing interest sooner than 6 months I think I'll just go with it. They all develop at such different rates I'm going with if she wants it (and handles it well) I'll let her have it.
I had huge dreams of consistency and longer sleep with DS3 and solids, but it never happened! LOL So not pinning any hope on it this time :)

Day sleeps here are still crap Beatrix, so sorry Freya my only tip at this point could be drugs :lol: I AM KIDDING!!!! :p

Last night she did about 8.30pm to 3am. Of course I had no idea she would do that so didn't go to bed myself until late. She woke at 3 for a feed then slept another 2 hours then 2 again. She's been really fussy all day, I'm pretty sure her tummy is bothering her :( She was hungry earlier but every time she would start to feed she'd pull off and scream. In the end she would feed if I stood up and fed her :o This is not sustainable!!

Logan has been fantastic during the night. The three hourly feeds overnight have disappeared (for now). He has been having his last feed at 8.30-9pm and then sleeping for 7-8hrs. On Friday he slept for 10hrs. It's a shame I couldn't enjoy it - between worrying whether he was ok (I was out of bed checking his breathing) and engorged/leaky boobs I didn't get a long consistent sleep anyway.

My sleep patterns are awful right now. I only slept from 2-4.15am this morning. I potter around the house cleaning or watching Wimbledon/The Ashes on tv. It's not sustainable when I'm working.

About work, I started crying in front of my boss today because they still haven't organised my lactation breaks and I have to send messengers to get someone so I can express. It's a nightmare. My boss didn't know what to say or do with me crying so hopefully it will crack him into gear. I felt weak crying in front of him though and that annoyed me to know end. I am worried about my body calling the milk production quits - exactly what they want even though they aren't saying it.

:hug: DB I don't know how you're doing it! You must be exhausted :hug: I really hope your lactation breaks are all sorted for your next shift, it's enough already! I also hope Logan keeps up the big sleeps and your body catches up ASAP so you can get some decent sleep :crossfingers:

Thanks Willow. I'm doing work preparation at the moment. I'll probably need another hour or two. I'm exhausted. DH is taking good care of me. I refuse to sacrifice the 3-4hrs I have with my babies in the evening for work so I stay up late. My poor little girl has a cold. She woke crying not long ago with boogers and drool all over her little face. Her voice is all croaky and she is coughing. I have a cough too. Logan is fast asleep. I just need a day curled up in bed with my babies and hubby watching tv and staying in our pj's. Sounds perfect.

It was so nice when Emmy ran up to me after a rough day at work calling "Mummy, Mummy, uppy, uppy" and gave me a big cuddle. Needless to say I got teary. She had a huge smile on her face when she saw me at the front door.

I love my babies so much.

But she's LOVING standing up... when i hold her hands and help her sit up, she instantly pushes her legs out to stand!!... and if I hold her weight she will walk over to her big sister 5-6 steps!!! :o

Thanks for all of your well wishes. My lactation breaks were organised after 45mins of discussion! And that was just for the breaks TODAY. Tomorrow needs to be organised... it's just stupid. Wasting 45mins to organise a 30min break. Other than that it was ok.

Logan has rolled over twice a few weeks ago and it freaked me out. He was just 2 months old. He hasn't done it since though. I don't know if it is because he is a big baby. He's in 00's and even some 0's fit him. He's not 3 months yet. He needs to slow down. I feel as though I'm going to blink and he will be at school already. Life is zooming by far too quickly at the moment.

DB- glad something was sorted, even though it took longer than the actual break! :o awww Logan sounds like a wonderful squishy baby!! :)


As for us... last couple night miss Eleni has started going to sleep at about 8:30pm but is waking now at 1pm and then at 4 0r 5am! grrr..... we had worked it out just right..and now this! Hoping it's just these few days and it will fix itself again!! Both times she woke with a poo... so maybe she just needed to poo then realised she was hungry?? This morning she woke at 1am, 4am and then 6am!!!!! WT??!???? each one started with a poo!...... :asleep:

Harri- cant help with your poop timing. Lol miss Zoe goes once every 4-5 days and poops out of everything she is wearing and sitting in lol.

As for the sleep. Could be a growth spurt. We had 2 days of 3-4hrly feedin then the next two days she only woke once a night and went 6hrs between feeds during the day and slept heaps (on me or her swing. Never in her bed)

Ha! I was just coming in to see if anyone else was having a growth spurt :D We've had non stop feeding for 24 hours bugger all sleep last night, just feed, feed ,feed! I was excited the three nights before with all the 7 hour stretches in her own bed, now I'm worried it was part of the growth spurt :( I really hope it wasn't I hope she's settling into longer sleep stretches, but last night was terrible! I feel like I've been hit by a truck.

DB go Logan what a strong little guy! I know what you mean though it goes sooooo quickly.

Beatrix/Willow- Eleni poo's nearly every feed!!.... and sometimes in between! HAHA I was thinking growth spurt again as she had a 3hr sleep yesterday during the day!!...She's asleep now as we speak... I have also noticed some changes in her over the last few days, so maybe it's all related!?

Logan poops just about every feed too. It's only the last 24hrs where he has only pooped less than 8 times. He's been asleep since 6.30pm. I need him to wake up to feed before I go to bed otherwise I'll have to express and I really don't want to have to do that unless necessary.

My BD1 is still sick - getting better but still coughing in the night. She isn't two until a couple of months so I can't give her any medicine besides Panadol. We rubbed Eucyrub on her back and chest so I hope that's helped. I wish I could help her. Poor little baby has to sleep propped up with me.

Can you try a dream-feed DB? Hope your BD is feeling better soon :crossfingers:

Logan woke at 3am after 8-9hrs and then straight back to sleep until 7am. He has been very kind to me this week.

Can't wait for Friday afternoon. Work was so much better today as my lactation breaks were organised. Everything went smoother. Tomorrows are organised too. Seems as they can only sort them a couple days at a time. They couldn't organise their way out of a paper bag!

Yes that's what I meant DB see if he'll have a sleepy feed for you. Good to hear work seems to be going more smoothly. Hope he keeps being kind o you as well :)

We're having a nightmare couple of days here. Non stop feeding, very little sleeping, even less wanting to be put down. DS3 won't sleep either I had them both up until after midnight last night. DS is having some kind of developmental change I think, I am not handling it very well at all on such little sleep. I have been angry yelling mummy :( I'm reacting(poorly) before my brain can have a chance to think better of it :( It's now nearly 10pm and DS is still awake again :wall: I put Georgia in her swing and changed the direction from side-to-side to back and forth and sat her in front of the TV in the hope the change in direction and view might keep her happy and give my back a break. It went one further and she went to sleep after about 10 minutes! Now if I can just get DS to go.to.sleep. I might be able to regain some of my sanity. I think a Baileys might help :)

Do any of you girls have any tips for getting her to take a bottle? She has so far refused, I've only tried twice, but I will keep trying. Did those of you who are giving bottles as well as breast have to give it a few goes before they took to it?

Willow- Eleni is going through something VERY similar to Georgia... I have had the same experience last few days!!

Can't help with the bottle, aside from those few feeds when she was only a week old when I was rushed to hospital I haven't tried bottle yet! I'm still trying to get her to take a dummy!!! Without much success mind you!.. today she had a bit of a go at it and then cracked it until I gave her boob... we got a 1hr afternoon nap!! That's all we have been getting these days!

I am seriously considering supplementing her with formula in the afternoon... this feeding every hr from 4pm-9pm is doing my head in!! It has been going on some time now and it's getting frustrating... especially when there is dinner to prepare, homework to help with etc. I feel like she's emptying them out up until lunch time.. and then after that, it's just doesn't seem like she's getting enough!!.... between 7:30pm and 9pm she will be feeding non stop!! I just don't know what else to do.... I have put her down in front of the TV so i can get 15min online!!!

I'm sure she's getting enough milk Harri. It's a pretty common scenario at that time of day, as frustrating as it is!!

We've had two good nights in a row with 9 hour sleeps :hooray: I hope it lasts :crossfingers: We're no closer to rolling yet, but we are a pro with our hands :D She can grab her hanging toy pretty much first go every time and get it into her mouth then mauls it like a little savage animal haha very cute :)

So jealous Willow!! We are still having 1 maybe 2 wake ups a night, sleeping prob 5-6hr periods. We had a bit of a bad night the other night where i ended up watching charmed at 3am in the morning LOL.

But I think we may have teeth coming, I can see white lines!! Not looking forward to that.

Harri- def the time of night they like to cluster feed!!

Willow- tried little miss with a bottle again on the weekend and she just chewed and played with it... a month ago took it fine but nope wasnt interested this time so not sure what is going on there.

We have gone back to crap nights I think last night she was up until 1am then woke at 5 and fed on and off for the next few hours. She may have been overstimulated though as we had visitors so we'll see what happens tonight. LOL I've watched Charmed a few times at 3am too but Seventh Heaven at 5am is my favourite haha, I'm always disappointed to see Jag at 2am, or maybe that's 4, anyway not a fan :lol: We also have DROOL and gnawing on anything she gets to her mouth so maybe teeth too or maybe just oral exploration because she licks everything that goes near her mouth before she chews lol

I just got some Mam brand teats a few people have said they were good and they are marketed as easy go between mum-to mam so we'll see if they help :crossfingers: My friend is due in 3 1/2 weeks so I'd love for Georgia to be all good with the bottle so she doesn't have to come to the hospital while she's in labour.

Willow - Logan seems to go between the bottle and breast without problem. We use Avent bottles/teats. We tried him with the Medela Calma teat ($29 but came with breast pump) and he won't take it. He has 3-4 feeds a day with the bottle and then cluster feeds from 3.30-8.30pm when I'm home from work.

Logan reverted back to waking every 3hrs for feeds during the night... this after a week of 6-10hr sleeps so its been a bit of a reality check. He goes straight back to sleep after feeding but it's just that broken sleep that is exhausting for me right now. BD1 is still sick but definitely better than a week ago.

I'm going back to bed for half an hour before I have to get up for work. Have a good day everyone.

Ive seen you guys talk about dream feeds before but never done one - last night I fed bub and ducked out to a friends down the road leaving bub asleep with DH. Got home 2 hours later (unintentionally lol) and bub was still asleep.

I tried to wake him up enough to feed him but he was zonked. No matter what I did he just would not latch. So I put him to bed. Little bugger slept from 8pm-7am! If I had of known he would do that I would have snuck back early and gone to bed.
What do you do to get them to latch for a dream feed??
