Hello Mummies and Bubbies :)
Welcome Jelly!! Glad you are home now and feeling a little better, my DH is the same about bf'ing and he doesnt understand as much that bf'ing is something we all plan on doing... but honestly whatever works best for you and Eliya is the best thing, if you are already feeling better and DH is helping with feeds good on you guys! Not everything works the same for everyone and you need to do what works best for your little family. Eliya was quite long! Do you feel better and more relaxed at home you think?
Clay was born on his due date too! The chances of that are really slim apparently, but I cheated because was induced :P
Cheezle - I swear I have felt a few kicks too lol! oh and I found my blue book but the hospital took the booklet out that I wanted d'oh! Yes we got a bit of a fussy night on Sunday, no sleep from 2-5 and just a grizzly little boy and DH kept telling me to take his temp so I humoured him and of course it was fine he was just unsettled... fed heaps that night too so I reckon it was the 2 week growth spurt maybe? He is happily playing under his activity mat right now while I am on the laptop, I just fall more and more in love with him siggghhhh ahhhh life is really perfect right now :)
DH works in the mines as a Fitter, he just discharged from the Army which was good while he was on base but the chances of a deployment with a baby was just not what we wanted so he now works in the mines and he is loving the time home but like everyone doesnt enjoy being away but money makes the world go around. My mum lives 10 minutes away and my sister is also 10 minutes away, I see them both almost daily so I am really lucky to have such a good support network. Still not looking forward to the first swing DH is away, he is a really big help in the mornings while I have a shower and put some washing on and stuff like that.
How is your neck?! Thats a big call saying you would rather labour again!!! that is some extreme pain! A kilo.... go Alex!!!!
Christmas presents.... hmmm this mumma went a bit crazy i think :P We got clay his own Andy and Buzz Lightyear toy story dolls, and then a heap of toys i put on xmas layby in june! stuff he wont be able to use for months but at least now we have them...dont even get me started on what the grandparents have got lol. what have you got for Alex?
Hi Alicia!!! congrats on your little girl, i agree with Cheezle what a sucky thing that they didnt weigh correctly :( Private facebook group sounds good to me, would be good to put faces to names! How is your bf'ing going now, still going strong?
Ooooo little Scarlett has hair how cute!!! Clay is a little baldy lol
Willever, how are you and your little man going?
AFM - now typing one handed so excuse my bad grammar, play mat got old for Clay half way thru this post! Clay is doing really good, well I think he is.... sleeping really good apart from the one night a few nights ago. Basically we play and try and keep him awake from say 6.30pm to 9.30pm then we go to our room and quietly cuddle and chat and then he will have some boobie then sleep from around 10.30 to 2.30am then up for a change and feed of EBM, then back to sleep from 3am - 6am then another EBM bottle from DH then sleeps from 7.30am to 9.30am for his first boobie of the day :) so I am pretty chuffed with his sleeping right now, hope he keeps on track and being so good for us... especially once DH goes back to work. BF'ing and EBM is going really good for us atm, I have so much milk I am now freezing some of the EBM, its insane that all of it is coming from me!
Yesterday we spent the day at my mums making gingerbread houses for Christmas, my mum makes big houses and I spend the entire time eating the extra ginger bread lol... I love this time of the year and it was so nice to be at my parents place with Clay and my sister and my niece, it was a really good day, I even made one of the batches of gingerbread woo!

Hi everyone & December's new Mummies and Babies - Congratulations!
Wow what a hectic week - I'm sure Archer has silent reflux :(. He grimaces and cries out in pain and arches his back then wants boob, only cat naps during the day. At first I thought it was wind but now I'm pretty sure its the reflux. I have been feeding him more upright and sitting him up more and that seems to help. Yay bb's are fully healed now and BF is going really smoothly. We took Archer to the Christmas carols the other night and it was so nice. I got a little emotional watching my little family enjoying the carols.. its such a nice time of year to have a baby!
Danielle- Im hearing you on the pooplosions - Our leather lounge has been christened twice and the change table has had a couple of wee's on it! None on me yet
Wow Alex is going great! Archer has only just reached his birth weight this week. He put on 160g this time, beats the 75g the week before so I'm happy now. As for xmas pressies Archer is getting a playgym mat thing, an activity centre that goes over the car seat for when he is a tad older, some books, a custom cloth nappy and some knick knacks like rattles ect for his little stocking. Its going to be so fun this year especially with his older brothers to help.
Belle- That would be be so nice to get your nails done. Yeah I went to the doctors the other day by myself and felt so weird. Especially when my milk let down in there I was like this is strange. We took Archer with us to a lovely restaurant last weekend and he slept the whole time. Was nice to put some make up on and get out of the house. Your night routine is pretty much the same as ours minus the ebm. And yeah I have had to tip out my 3 ebm bottles as he wouldnt take it in the calma bottle. I might try a tommee tippee one tonight though as I want Archer to be able to take ebm before I go back to uni in Feb. Omg I cant wait to feel fit again either. I walked to the post box the other day and came home and had a cramp in my calf! I also had to run (well if thats what you can call it) to the kitchen when the pot was over boiling and I felt like an elephant! I only have 2 kilos to lose then Ill be at my pre birth weight.. an extra 5 wouldnt hurt though.
Williever - Sorry to hear you had a traumatic birth! After all those months of being pregnant and imagining what the big event is going to be like it can be upsetting if things didn't go to plan ect. Dominic was a big boy!!
Alicia- Scarlett is a beautiful name! I can understand being upset not knowing her actual birth weight. It would sort of be like a bit of the puzzle was missing somehow?? I too felt awesome after my second! This time hell no, I could hardly walk for like a week and the afterpains were worse then labour! Facebook would be a great idea! Im all in.
Jelly - I too had issues with Breastfeeding especially with my first! I put him on formula at about 2 weeks old and seriously it took such a load off! I ended up with Mastitis and like you was expressing mad.. Its not worth being stressed out and exhausted over you sound like you've done whats best for you and your baby! Which formula are you using? I used Karicare with my other boys and never had an issue with it. How has your baby been with the changeover to formula? I remember both my boys got constipated and I made prune juice to give to them ( just the juice from simmering prunes in water) a few of my friends used brown sugar water as well. We put so much pressure on ourselves to 'successfully' breastfeed its ridiculous!
Im so unorganised with Christmas! Im yet to even get the laybys off and hopefully will get the boys Santa photos done this arvo!
Wish these milk dots would go away, Archer face looks like a 13 yo boys face at the moment. :(

we are feeding him with s 26 gold because that's what end were being given fir him in hospital, he has taken ti it well because he was doing 50/50 from birth, finding it annoying how people look down on you when they find out your baby is formula fed there doesn't seem to be much support out there, slowly getting used to the idea of nit being able to breastfeed but it still makes me sad but has been nice taking it in shifts with dh, feeling alot better emotionally now and stitches not as sore and I think my boobs are finally giving up :(
Filled in all the rego forms and what not... who's idea is it to give a new sleep deprived parent this many firms to fill out
Went to clinic today birth weight was 3.1 kg , lost 200 g by day 3 now is 3.2 kg so has put on 300 g in less than a week!

Sorry to crash your thread guys!!! Just sneaking in to tell Jellybean that I had problems with s26 with constipation. I have heard of lots of other cases of it too. Just thought I would mention it because you had another thread about constipation. I ended up using caricare gold. That was almost 10 years ago, mind you, but if constipation is an ongoing issue, it might be worth changing to another brand!
Good luck x

Hi ladies,
I hope you are all well. How rubbish is the weather. It's making walks very difficult!!
Dominic is doing well. He is now 4.8 kg so has made up his weight and more! He is heavy and I keep wondering how I carried him! My knees and back are still sore.
Dominic sleeps well. He falls asleep on the bottle so feeding can take a while. He also does not enjoy being winded. So he fights that.
He is gorgeous and will no doubt be completly spoiled by his parents. I just love holding him. DH is a very happy dad.
We are searching for a new used car. So walked around car lots today. I love walking around parks with my bub. I dreamt about it for so long so it's great! We get a coffee and have a walk whenever it's not raining.
Today we both had the whooping cough injection so I feel better about that. Trying to pay bills and organise paper work is taking ages. I just don't have the energy for it! We havent registered him yet. Maybe after Christmas!
Sorry for no persies. I will get on the laptop soon.
Have a great week mummies xx

Thanks nothing2loose I have heard that too but apparently the gold one doesn't, I was used tu having a dirty nappy every feed with ebm but when we changed to full formula it went to one a day which is apparently normal but he is having at least 2 a day now so not worried just learning, anyone git any bottle recommendations? So far pigeon is working best and tomee tipee breast shape worst because of the way he feeds.

Hmmm...must have been the week for it, Alex had a couple of unsettled nights too, last night was much better though thankfully with just one wake up!
As for pressies, I went to the Mattel factory the night before my waters broke so Alex is getting lots of Fisher Price stuff, plus books and a ring stacker toy.
Just wanted to say a big Merry Christmas to all of you lovely ladies :D Hope you all have a fantastic day tomorrow with our bub's very first Christmas. Hope the older kiddies have a great one too!

Stupid wind .... I swear I'm starting to go crazy.
Eli obviously doesn't believe me when I said that santa doesn't come when kids are awake and watching.

Archer isn't being so merry today.. was grizzeling all through this mornings celebrations then decided he wanted a feed just as food was being served up. :(
He is having a glorious sleep right now though and Ive been able to relax and have a strongbow.. just one. :)
Will do personals later in the week! My dp is on holidays for a week now so I'm looking forward to some quiet time. x

Hi Everyone
Cant believe Christmas is already over and it's almost 2012! Clay has just drifted off to sleep in his swing, wouldnt let me leave him in his bassinette just thru his arms and legs about until I picked him up and now he is so peaceful in his rocker, I think he has a bit of wind so he wants to sit up a bit. But this means I can sit on my laptop and reply!! Yay :)
Jelly - You are so brave going to boxing day sales, how was Eliya at the shops? Did you feel like you had heaps of stuff to take out now? How is the formula going, did you end up finding a bottle that works for you? We are using the tommee tippee bottles, and Clay will only take the tommee tippee newborn dummies he hates the rest so far.
Cheezle - How are you and Alex going? Just one wake up in the night is awesome!!!
Williever - What size is Dominic wearing? We did Clays birth cert at home and just posted it off, it arrived in 2 days!! All the paperwork is crazy, I think they should give us more time to do it with newborn babies a sleep deprived person should not be doing such intense forms. I had a panic cos I thought I had spelt Clays full name wrong, and then DH was worried I had forgot one of his names lol All was good tho luckily. Did you find a car? Reading you comment about loving walkin around with Dominic made me smile, I am the same :)
Amanda - Your christmas morning sounds exactly like mine, my inlaws started eating without me and I got a cold christmas lunch ... Clay got a very long feed tho, lucky he was my best christmas present and I really didnt mind being alone with him for an hour or two, so many people wanted to see him and hold him I was jealous haha I wanted to hold my baby! I had a cider too hahaha just one tho, have you tried the new one out called Rekorderlig? It's strawberry and lime flavour and oh so good.
Clay slept so well last night, I feel so refreshed but so tired from the past couple of days, feel like we havent been at home at all... then DH leaves on Thursday which I am really not looking forward too. I plan on walking at least once a day with Clay in his pram and trying to focus on loosing my baby weight and then some more if I can, have lost 10kg so far but that was in the first week pretty much... now I have 8kg to lose before pre-baby weight, I can do it!! Breast feeding is going really well and expressing at night still, DH does the 6am feed for me which gives me a little break. DH flies out at 6am on Thursday morning which means we have to be up at 4am to leave for the airport.... DH doesnt understand why I think he should catch a taxi or accept a lift from a friend, he thinks Clay will be fine in the car.... yeah on the way there maybe but the way back he will cry for his next feed and its an hour drive with a newborn and a very tired mumma.... what would you ladies do?
Clay was super spoilt for Christmas, I think he has every fisher price toy ever made.... we are clearing out one of our spare rooms to make into his toy room! haha :)
Happy New Year ladies!!

Mrs cpt: formula is going well still crying sometimes though wishing I could have breastfed but alas my milk has dried up but he is a bit blocked up so will try nan gold after this tin is finished or something else gonna get a bunch of samples. Were using the pigeon bottles I find the breast shape tomee tipee bottles are too boob shaped and with his original problem being not opening his mouth big enough he sucks in alot of air.
Goodness knows how much weight I need to loose date I look bad enough I feel damaged with all the stretch marks and jelly belly I'm sporting.
I'm same at christmas everyone wanted to hold him and I had to keep telling myself I get to hold him at home all the time lol
I hear you on the paperwork I would be surprised if my babys cert didn't cone back saying conan the barbarian with fred and wilma as guardians given the amount if drugs I was on lol
As for dh I'd try get some mates to drop him off lol blokes can be a bit thick sometimes
