Ok, random question but do you change bubs nappy during a dream or night feed? DD2 wears cloth during the day & top shelf disposables at night. Some nights she will sleep from 10-5/6am so I know the nappy won't leak & she never poos during the night so on the odd occasion (like now) that she wakes could I feed her without changing & waking her up completely? Usually with a night feed it's her stirring that wakes me & she never opens her eyes unless I change her bum

I use disposable at night, and don't change unless there is poo (which is rare).

I didn't end up changing her & she had a feed & was back in bed within 40mins. Not sure if she fed properly though because she was wriggling a lot & is awake again only 3hrs later. Something to think about though.

I change DS's nappy before each feed, if I don't he wets through his clothes. Every time. Lol. It doesn't usually wake him up completely, but if it does, he falls asleep on the boob when I feed him anyway, so it's no big deal

Candy how are you going with days/nights now? Felix finally got the idea at around 9 weeks. Lol. I didn't do anything, he just all of a sudden started sleeping from 6.30pm-7am (with 3 feeds in between)

We finally have a routine that is making life so much easier!

We get up around 7-7.30, I have a green smoothie while I make breakfast for DH & pack his work lunch- ds plays on the play may whilst I do that. Ds then sleeps from 8.30-11, sometimes I do too! 60 minute walk after a feed, then we just feed, play & catnap until 5pm, bath time, play & sleep at 6.30.

It's so good to be finally getting some sleep!!! I feel human again

Missed this conversation as I haven't been able to get onto here on my phone for ages... I don't change nappy during a dream feed (10-11pm) but when he wakes for a feed through the night I do change it before I feed him.

How is everyone surviving? Aleksander is 13 weeks and 7kg now! He's already 70cm+ long!! Little porker I've made it to 13 weeks exclusively breastfeeding too. Never, ever thought I'd get to celebrate that milestone. He's currently still waking approx midnight, 3am and 6am, but I'm willing to wear that as he eats and then straight back to bed. Although unlike Faye, I feed and then change him, that way he sleeps through the nappy change.

We are also hitting that stage where he is getting distracted during boobie time. Get messy when he laughs at his brother with a mouthful of milk!

Hi Candy Wow, 7kg! He's a happy eater by the sounds of it, well done!

Some of us natter away on FB & we've noticed the girls in the group seem to have lower weight gains than the boys.

Well done with the feeding. I ended up having to give formula at night as my poor boobs couldn't cope but I'm rapt that I've managed to BF up til now (12wks) I take it 1 week at a time now which is an improvement on 1 day at a time.

Wow candy what a big healthy boy you have! Congrats on the BF

We also have the issue of getting distracted during feeding - it's messy and frustrating but also quite funny! I love when he looks at me with a big cheesy grin during feeding

DS is going well too, has his 4 mth check and immunisations on Wed. I'm very curious to see how his weight gain is going... Pretty confident there's no issues on that front - he feeds well and is a little chubba

    Good to hear candy

We have giggles but he's only rolled once so must have been a fluke lol!
Have been struggling at night waking 3-4 times which has been tiring & he's also teething! Hoping they cut through soon so he has some relief.

Yup, Aleksander still wakes 3-4 times a night. Eats then goes back to bed. No teeth coming though!

I don't think the roll was a fluke Faye. Your boy is just testing your patience

I'm still alive. How are you all going? Aleksander is 20 weeks now, rolling and sliding backwards like a crocodile in reverse. He's still boob fed, go me! But we have started some solids. Some banana and avo, sweet potato, blueberries, carrot and apple. He was opening his mouth every time a spoon went past. I just really roughly mash stuff, no puree and he's taking well. About a tablespoon of food once a day plus his normal amount of boobies I only have about 6 weeks til I go back to work

Re: Babies Born ~ February 2014

DD2 has started rolling this week from her back to her front. lots of gurgles and blowing bubbles. lots of chewing on her hand and spit. No solids yet, she just looks at me amusedly if food is in her arms reach. she is not sitting at all either and just crumples or falls forward on her face.

at her 4 month appt, it was picked up she has clicky hips. she had an ultrasound and they don't have full coverage of the joint, but it might grow ok by itself. i have another ultrasound in a month to see if they have improved. i really hope so, bc going in to a brace after she has become mobile will be tougher on her.

she is quite tight in the tummy today and just want me to constantly walk around with her. maybe tired from being awake at stupid o clock this morning

still 100% breastfed, she still needs more help than my other kids to feed. i think it will always be a two hand job.

she is cute, lovely smile. loves giggling at her big brother and sister.

HotI you describe her so beautifully 😀

Hi Candy! Sounds like you guys are going great 😀 I'm intrigued by his crocodile shuffle lol.

DD2 has finally had her first big growth spurt - up until now she's gotten bigger at a slow & steady pace but suddenly clothes & nappies that were loose suddenly fit, bizarre! She's rolling both ways but some days has no interest & is more determined to sit up than anything. When she's on her back she does stomach crunches trying to lift herself up

Re: Babies Born ~ February 2014

All going well here too: DS is finally rolling front to back very easily. He does the stomach crunches when on his back too and will roll to the side but doesn't roll right over yet.
Is getting better with sitting and if balanced right can sit on his own for about 1.5-2 mins. I do find he vomits a lot when in a sitting position so we don't practice as much as we should.

Started solids here as well - he's been having potato, pumpkin, carrot, apple, pear, yoghurt, weet bix, rice cereal mainly. He loves his food. Tonight he insisted on feeding himself with the spoon though so I let him just put food on the spoon for him - he actually managed to get most of it in his mouth! Not keen on finger food yet though, still puréed at the moment besides the weet bix - that was just mushed up a bit.

Still breastfeeding too! I'm actually really proud of myself because I had a goal of 6 months which is 10 days away & I plan on continuing at this stage...

He has started sleeping through as well! Woohoo!! We had about 2 months of being up 4-5 times a night so this is heaven. He still wakes once or twice (so I guess he's not technically sleeping through) but self settles within about 5 mins so I don't need to get up to him.

I'm also making a career change and doing my diploma in early childhood education and care so all my spare time I'm hitting the books. The child care centre have pretty much guaranteed me a job when I'm finished.

Glad to hear you're both going well candy pity you're not on FB - we all chat on there regularly...
