Only just found this thread! hi to everyone.
Very tired here, will try and post something better soon!
Well PK had his 4 week check today ( not that he is quite 4 weeks ) he is doing wonderfully, is now 4kg, so has put on 500gms in 1.5 weeks, I am so proud of him, I cried in the midwifes office today, having a bad day, got knocked back on 2 houses, so now panicing that no one will want me, and I will be stuck in this house bearly keeping my head above water... but I just have to learn to let go and say what happens happen for a reason and this will all make me stronger...
Must enjoy little PK as he wont be small or so quite for long...
Only just found this thread! hi to everyone.
Very tired here, will try and post something better soon!
Finally managed to get on here - been at mum and dad's this arvo, left David there and did a whole heap of shopping jobs, banking etc etc. Now he's fed, bathed and in bed (and hopefully asleep - he's quiet anyway) and I did intend to come and do some personals, but really I just feel like having a shower and going to bed myself, so I will - sorry! Hope you're all doing well and that you have a good night with your bubs![]()
Good morning ladies!
GTF, well done on PK's weight gain! He sounds like my boys. I'm glad I got a little-ish one for my last, but really they just stack on weight so fast it doesn't last long does it?
I'm sure the perfect house is just waiting for you. Fingers crossed you hear some good news soon.
Em! Hi! Glad you found us!
Jen, hope you got some good rest. I was hoping to go shopping this morning, just groceries, but I can barely move my upper body.
AAU: Well, my milk has/is coming in. My boobs are horribly swollen and I look like I should be a porn starAs if my F cups weren't big enough! Luckily it's only temporary, I'd get awful backache if I had to carry these babies around full time!
Josh is already having a good day. He's far more alert than he has been - well he is only 2.5 days old - and he seems to have a good idea of night vs day already. DS1 and DS2 still love playing with him. DS2 keeps asking to hold him and just sits there with a grin on his face. I spent a good deal of yesterday just sitting and staring at him. Thought I might have been over that with #3, but apparently not!
Number 4 and im the same, thank goodness i dont think that would ever stop!
Hello everyone. My baby was 2 weeks old last nightIts going by far too quickly! Life is back to its hectic pace and i admited defeat this morning and had a sleep in (only my 3rd sleep in or day sleep since she was born) I just go so over tired yesterday that i started to feed Miss M while i feel asleep, which in turn means she isnt burped which them means she gets wind pain...soooooo i am now hoping tonight i can stay awake and get back on track!
Molly has her healthy hearing today, have to organise a card and chocolates for the 4 MWs that were apart of her birth. Also want to write a letter to the NUM and head of OBs...
Alright talk tomorrow ladies! Hope you are all well and ill expect to see a baby born????
13.1.11 nice day for a birth!!!
awsome weight gain hun!!!good job PK!!!
like disgirl, im sure the perfect house is just around the corner and will come up when u least expect it!!
i just hope it comes up quickly for you!
jen how do u go leaving david?
im terrified of leaving S with anyone yet, i just cant bring myself to do it.
the only person i trust is DH, especially when it comes to feeding her.....
dont tell tegam she will be jealous of u having a better rack than her!
AFU: all going well, still keeping to the new routine she has set, was slightly off track last night but we got back on track over night, still just one wake up so that was good!!
GTF - hoping the house situation is sorted quickly for you - it's so hard not knowing, but I'm sure the right place is out there and will come along soon
Disgirl - I'm so glad I'm past the porn star boobs stage - so much more comfortable for sleeping now!
crumpet - I had no worries leaving him with my mum (after all, I survived her mothering!) - have done it twice so far. Probably would be ok leaving him with MIL or any of my SIL as well, but I probably won't do that until he's a bit older unless I'm really stuck. I guess I've seen enough of all of them in action with their kids/grandkids that I feel confident how they'd go with David. Besides, at some stage I've got to start cashing in those babysitting credits I've got with my SILs!!
Bought some fennel teabags yesterday (for me to drink) - supposed to be good for baby's wind/colic. The Brauer's stuff seems to be helping a lot, but I'm keen to try any natural remedies there are. So missing eating chocolate atm, but I guess it will help me shed a few more kilos over the next few months
David's having a good morning - happily playing on the mat for about 40 mins now - that's a record! Mind you, he had a massive feed just before, so is probably full and happy! He fed at 1am and 5am last night, but unfortunately it's so light at 5:30am that he thought it was morning, so didn't settle properly after that. Fortunately I had a great sleep from 9:30-1, then 2-5, so I feel good now
Have a great day everyone!
@ cashing in ur credits!!!
my issue is trusting them to look after her like we do and in MIL's case not waking her up so she can see her with her eyes open ( loooooong story which i wont get started on) my mum on the other hand would be happy to sit there and just watch her but i still dont think i could do it..... im to much of a control freak as u girls know!
nah im not going to rush it, ill just do it when it feels right, and hopefully we dont need a sitter before then or it could be interesting!![]()
Crumpet, I didn't leave either of the older boys with DH until they were a couple of months old. Didn't leave them with my mum until they were well over six months and didn't leave either of them overnight until they were almost 2! I have separation anxiety. It's not worth the stress. What's the point of going out without bubs if you aren't comfortable with it? You won't enjoy yourself because you will be worrying the whole time.
Jen, I stocked up bigtime on credits with my bro and his two kids, but then his (ex)wife turned psycho (REALLY) and they ended up getting divorced. He's re-married and I don't think it's fair to try and cash in on the credits because his new wife would do most of the looking after if I tried. Oh well, as I just mentioned, I don't really like leaving the boys with anybody but DH. And I'm not usually a control freak!
AFU: OMG my boobs! Seriously, little Josh is doing his best, but they are MASSIVE!
Good morning ladies!
I'm feeling goooooood today. Josh is still asleep - he only woke up once overnight for a feed and change and then straight back to sleep. Mum stayed over and got up to DS2 (who I didn't even hear!) so I feel really well rested. I totally crashed last night at last. I'd only had about 10 hours sleep altogether since Josh was born so it was only a matter of time. Feeling really good today - even though I still have engorged boobies.
I have my two besties coming down to visit today. We don't see each other very often because they live two hours away now, even though we talk every day. I have nothing to offer them for morning tea since my SIL's four kids cleaned me out yesterday afternoon and when I sent DH to go shopping he didn't think to get more bikkies - which are a staple for meI can't believe my little guy will be four days old tonight!
just quick one to say hellohad a little teary melt down yday when the doc sent a message to say my appt was postponed due to their office being flooded. Forgot all these thing happen not to mention the sore boobies!!!! how long will it last??? cant remember them being so sore with the girls, although Nellie is a really slow feeder, she falls asleep but stays attached. We had our first family outing yday arvo just to Redcliffe for a walk along the water (which was pretty gross cos of the storms/floods) it was a bit of an effort to get out as we had to fit DD2 new car seat then forgot the pram and the girls togs, they were going to swim in the lagoon we just had to get out of the house we were all going a bit stir crazy!!! Anyway hope all is well with all your little bubbys. have a good day.
Disgirl - enjoy having your friends over! Are you giving them some jobs to do as well? Maybe they can bake some bikkies while they're overGlad you've caught up on some sleep too
loulou - is your place ok? been watching the news and praying for all the flooded areas/people - pity about your appt being postponed, hope your boobs settle down soon (now there's an interesting statement - the things we talk about in pregnancy and motherhood!)
David has been stocking up on the mummy milk during the mornings lately, also been quite wakeful, but makes up for it with a decent arvo sleep and goes 4-5 hours between feeds at night. Still getting wind pain here and there, but not as bad as before - just have to wait until it passes sometimes before putting him down for sleeps otherwise I'm up and down like a yo-yo. Funnily enough, he hates all the "typical" positions for babies with wind e.g. over my knees, face down along my arm, up on shoulder - that is, he hates them when he has wind - other times it's ok, but not necessary. So I've been gently pushing his knees up to his tummy and bicycling them or just cuddling him until he settles.
Tomorrow will be interesting - DH and I are going around to a few places to research/check things for our house - air-con, carpet etc - planning to bring the sling and the pram and see how David goes being in and out of the car several times during the morning. Not sure where/when he'll feed so I'm bringing along some expressed milk to broaden my options (still find it difficult to feed discreetly in public - not confident just letting it all hang out in a place of business!). Will let you know how we go!
We're just back from our first trip out as a familyWe went for a walk to the park. DH looked like Mr Mom with Josh in the Hug A Bub and him pushing the older boys in the pram. I was flat out just getting myself there! My back is killing me now. I guess squatting for an hour in labour is having a lingering effect.
We've had a lovely day with my friends here in the morning. DS1 and my friend's little girl got along REALLY well. Will have to make more of an effort to get up there to visit them often I think.
Oh, I don't know if I mentioned it, but I'm back in my pre-pregnancy pants! Woohoo! Although I wasn't all that pleased with my pre-pg weight so I want to lose some weight over the next year or so.
another buddy.... disgirl isnt she a clever girl to be our buddy again!
Lilias had her baby!
"Baby Caelan James made his arrival on friday 14th January 2011. Weighing 3.8kg. 57.5cm length, 36cm head. Mum and Bub both very well"
Oh awesome! Congrats Kel!!! She will be so excited that he arrived early - just as she wanted! I can't believe our bubs ended up only four days behind mine!!! We were over three weeks apart with our due dates!
good job!!!
most of my pre-pregnancy stuff still fit me while preg, my jeans i just had to add a belly belt but all my other pants fit the whole way!
congrats to lilas!!
AFU: all going well.....
Miss S had her paed review today, and he is soooooo happy with her!!
she has put on another 400-ish grams in 10 days, her bloods from after her discharge were fine.
she has been a bit chucky lately but he isnt worried coz she isnt in pain or loosing weight so im cool with that.
by the way he was talking her infection in hospital was a lot more serious than was ever let on to us. he said something about how she had such a rough time in the hospital being so sick and DH and i looked at each other like WTF, he said he was so glad something told him to do the bloods when he did that day we saw the rash..... feel like we owe so much to him after hearing that!
her 8 week needles are booked for 3 weeks time so thats bound to be fun!!!
and she is sticking to her routine which we are loving, makes life so much easier to predict and plan!!
sooooooo......
whose thinking of having another one???cant believe im saying that!
oh oh oh and can i just say check out my Avy!!! loooooove it!
