Hello ladies!
I thought I would come and join you all in here
Well, where to start? I know a few of you ( Tegam and Disgirl) but will introduce myself anyway,
I'm Kellie, or Kel, whichever you prefer. I had my little Heffalump 10 days ago now (OMG, was it really that long ago already??), after what felt like the LOOOONGEST pregnancy in the world, lol. We named him Caelan James and he was born on the 14th Jan, weighing in at 3.8kg, 57.5cm long and 36cm HC and he is bub #3 for us. We had a wonderful drug free labour and birth, with only ARM in way of interventions. Labour niggles started at about 5am Friday morning and progressivley got stronger as the day went on. We went to a playcentre with our older two kidlets, then left whent hings were getting a bit too hairy for me to bear in front of strangers, lol! I went to hospital at about 5pm and was told I was 4-5cm. Laboured for another few hours moved around got in the shower, sat on the fitball and was just generally really restless. Caelan seemed to be going nowhere, but then all of a sudden whilst sitting on the toilet, I started to vomit and push (sooo not a pleasant way to do things! But it happened with DS1 as well) so I got on the bed (I like to birth laying down) and about 30mins laterI started pushing again and about 3 pushes later he was out and that was with coaching from my doula and midwife not to push! I gave myself a tear needing 4 stitches and multiple grazes because he was born so fast. But he was absolutely gorgeous and DH and I fell in love instantly. He is long and skinny and rather resembles a skinned rabbit, lol!
Unfortunately I lost a fair bit of blood (I have had significant to severe PPH with all 3 births, plus one of my angels) and needed a blood transfusion. DS then started vomiting bile and was terribly sleepy and difficult to wake and was taken to SCN to be tested and monitored. I was so sad to have no baby with me as well as no toddlers or DH. I have never felt so alone. After a few days of monitoring and tests, the doctors came up with nothing to diagnose DS with and sadi some babies a just slow to get their motabolism going and it seems that that was what happened with DS. He finally pooed on day 6 and was allowed to come home with me!
He has been a little up and down with his sleeping and feeding and is still a little unpredictable. It seems to be every second night he barely sleeps, sleeps really well through the day and then that night he sleeps like an angel! I am hoping the sleeping like an angel stays and the restless nights fade away, lol! Surely I have to get one good sleeper out of three...??
Ok ladies must go a certain little someone is stirring...
