Tegam - lol about fo3 not saying hi. It would be funny if you ended up with 6 though. lol. You never know next one could be twins. lol. Enjoy having your visitors. I have had barely any visitors, funny that. Actually feel quite sad that no one is interested in meeting our newest addition Chloe. She is just too gorgeous not to meet her. Its only because shes the 6th though. hugs

F03 - Say hello to Tegam will you, lol. What Shower, you get to have one before 9pm. Your lucky. As for the weight loss it was only short, as Im now 5kgs heavier than what I was when I came home from hospital. All the stress did it. lol.

Glenny. Em. Lilias - Hi lovelies, here you on being tired. Hugs

Crumpet - The sucking out of snot isnt fun hey? Chloe hates it, yet funny sometimes she smiles when i have to do it. (with the pump though) lol. Your Dh is going to be one very happy little chappy when he gets bounced upon all the time. lol. Its always nice to have a easy baby, enjoy it hun. hugs

Still havent booked the ct scan, boy am I hopeless. I guess I will have to do it next week.

F03- Dont feel bad about not breastfeeding. At least you gave it a very good shot. How you are feeling now is how I felt with DD1, I put her on the bottle at one week old as I just could not do it. So I do understand that feeling. But with time it passes. I look at DD1 now and she is perfectly healthy and happy and no one would ever know how she was fed. I think sometimes there is way too much hype and pressure put on mums to breastfeed, at the end of the day milk is milk, and to be completely honest I dont even like breastfeeding haha.

Crumpet - Wow you are brave thinking about the next one already!

Lilias - Hope you can get in an arvo nap today? Hard with two others running around though...

    Thanks for the welcome girls

David's doing ok in his cot - yesterday he didn't sleep much more than normal, but today he at least made it a whole 45mins cycle for both the morning and lunchtime nap - he did another hour on my chest and in the pram after the lunchtime one and is currently having another nap in the pram, so a pretty good day for us. The best part is that he's at the other end of the house so it doesn't matter what noise I'm making, or if the phone or doorbell rings, he's not disturbed. And of course, I can nap on my own bed if I want to! He looks so cute in his cot, must take a pic sometime . .

Isadora - welcome! I agree with you on the bf issues - it doesn't work out for everyone, but it's good to give it a go. I don't think anyone should feel guilty about it either. I had initial difficulties with sore nipples, but things are good now, so hopefully I can go a bit longer.

David gave me another great night - up at 1 and 5:30 for feeds, apart from that he slept from 7:30 to 7am - well done bubba! Still trying to get as much milk in him as possible during the day in the hope he'll only need one night feed in the next month or so

We've got a moving date!! March 12, unless there's any further delays with Western Power - power's supposed to happen on the 9th. Tiles, carpet, air-con and security screens all going in before we move. Painting currently happening (DH, FIL, BIL and dad hard at work) and getting measured for some blinds next Tuesday, but not sure how long they'll take to get done. At least my curtains are done! Looking forward to hanging them up now It's all happened rather quickly - David has been quite a significant distraction! It's just as well we're having some good nights atm, I need all my energy for packing now.

Big hugs to those of you who are doing it tough - everyone always says it will pass, and it's true, but it doesn't always feel like that at the time, hey?

    Morning girls,
Well, we seem to have turned a bit of a corner. Bub is a lot calmer and happier since starting on the zantac, she's been on it three days now and we really noticed a difference yesterday. She was back to the happy baby we used to have. PLayed for at least 1-2 hours after every feed and then napped until the next feed.
Last night was better too, bed at 7, up at 11 and 2.30 for feeds and then up at 5.30 to start the day. She was wide awake at 5.30 and played for a bit after her feed then went back to bed. I didn't mind her playing then as we get up at 5.30 during the week anyway for DH's work and I figure as long as the suns up, she can be as well.
So- still not the really long stretches some of you are getting at night but a big difference to the two hourly feeds I had been getting lately.

Also- Tegam, I hear you on the guest thing. I have had my in laws here from Scotland for the past three weeks! And they don't go for another week. It's been an absolute nightmare!!! FIL is useless and obviously never does a thing for himself. Really sweet guy but he will be lost if his wife goes first! MIL on the other hand, grrrr! She obviously doesn't agree with some of the way e do things. She's very big on baby being in a strict routine and doesn't agree with feeding on demand. She's always making comments like "is she feeding AGAIN!" and "she should really be going 4 hours now". Grrr! I'm happy she's got hersle finto a three hourly pattern and I AM NOT going to let my baby cry if I know she wants food. Also- the one that has REALLY ticked me ff in the last couple of days-

MIL has been staying up to do the 10.30- 11 feed which I thought was very sweet of her, since bubs has been up every two hours lately. So DH and I go to bed early and she feeds at 10-11 so I have been getting sleep until about 1 when she has been up, I haven't been getting much sleep past that so have been very grateful to be able to go to bed early. Anyway- we had a long talk with MIL when she got here about night feeds, we're trying to teach day/nigh so can you please do night feeds in her room, not in the lounge. Can you do it with just the small light on so it's quite dark and please don't play with her. I got up the other night to go to the toilet about 11 and MIL and FIL are sitting on the couch, lights blaring, TV blaring and she is feeding Katherine!! I got really mad but I wasn't nasty. I just reminded her and asked again if please can she do the night feeds in Katherine's room where it's dark and quiet. She took offence to me saying that and didn't talk to me all day. She then asked if I wanted her to do the late night again since she wasn't tired at all last night. I said yes thinking ti might smooth things over, later I woke to hear Katherine grizzling a bit at about 11 again and the noise is coming from the lounge!!!! AND I can hear the TV on and FIL talking.

I don't care if you don't agree with our way of parenting! In fact, I couldn't give two hoots if you agree or not but this is OUR child and I just can't get over the disrespect! I'm also wondering if this has been going on the whole time they've been here an if this might not have something to do with her reverting to 2 hourly feeds at night. I can't believe she just does what she wants!!! I've already said to DH that hen number two comes, I don't care if they've come all the way from Scotland. They are not staying with us! DH is so mad as well, we had planned to go to Scotland for Christmas but he says he can't deal with them again so soon.

I'm so mad right now!!! Can't wait for hem to go home! She's only shooting herself in the foot and ensuring that she won't see her grandkids as often as she would like. I feel like we're going to have to start over with a lot of things with Katherine after they go.

Oh- on a good note, my mother's group have organised a swim class for the babies just for us, so Katherine will be starting swimming classes in two weeks!!

Oh Poor chicken Glenny! Terrible situation you are in and so annoying when you feel that you arent being listened to as a parent! Glad that Katerine is doing better and that they go in a week. I could ramble for hours on this matter so i will just take a big deap breath for you and try to stay calm.. Oh and Glenny none oh mine have been long sleepers at night. I think 3hr is great at the moment for her and i agree how can anyone say no to a drink for a baby after 3 hrs if they need it, just to be on a bloody routeen! Dose she and her DH do everything at the same time? Does she wait 4hr to have a cup of tea if she is thirsty???

Not going to get into it but i think my guests think they are in a hotel. I get to cook dinner with a baby in my arms while they all enjoy a swim. I get to clean up with SIL baths her baby, she is in there for 30mins, as she walks past me washing up i see my kids follow still in their clothes, i ask "have you at least left the water in the bath" "oh no - didnt even think"! You didnt even think that it was 6pm and i had FOUR kids to bath, you couldnt even throw one in with your 2yr old...FFS!

Ok so im not so calm now!

Just wanting to send Glenny and tegam some hugs....

Glenny - With all of my bubs if they wanted their bottle they got it, didnt matter if it was 20mins later or more. If they are hungry they let you know. If they are satisfired they also let you know. Your doing a wonderful job with your little Katherine. Im sorry about what your going through with your inlaws. hugs

Well sorry all but Im super tired, had Chloe up for more than two hours in the early hours of the morning from 2.30am. Finally got her to sleep at 4.45am, and she has decided to wake up at 7am and is whingey on and off since. I shouldnt grumble though as she went to sleep at 9pm and woke up at 2.30am so was quite happy with that. Having a headache didnt help with the 2hr stint in the morning though. Still have it now, so just waiting for Chloe to drop off to sleep so I can hopefully have a nap too. The poor little thing is really having a hard time with her stuffy nose. hugs all.

thanks! we knew there wasnt a issue but they like to be anal these medics!

yeah we enjoyed date night, eventually we will get her looked after but i just cant quite do it yet.

oh with the whopping cough thing they recommend all parents and grandparents be vaccinated coz there has been a outbreak here in Vic, and then on the news the other night a 14day old baby died from it so its just motivated me to get my A into gear and book in, we are going tuesday.

    go phoebe!
Summah gets cranky in the morning and then from 6 until bath, bottle and bed at 7-730 at night, she just whinges it drives me crazy!

yay glad the meds are working hun!!!

ur IL's sound like a nightmare!
least u have tact i would have said no dont bother helping out of u cant help out the way i ask you to!
my MIL doesnt agree with us FF, having summah in her own room, no wrapping her, oh and probably most other ways we do things but tuff titties she has had her turn at parenting!

Ok so im not so calm now!
    RUDE!!!! kick em out love!

but seriously do people really not think these days???

The poor little thing is really having a hard time with her stuffy nose. hugs all.
i feel ya pain hun, we are having issues with summah and her snot, its driving her nuts, she grunts and groans and carrys on from it

AFU: good night here, she went to sleep at 830 and dreamfeed at 10, awake talking to her dogs at 7 this morning but was happy to lay there till 730, pretty happy with that!

have BIL's ex GF coming to visit today, wonder what my BFF the gold digger thinks of that!!
BIL and Ex still speak so i dont think she will be to worried....

    i have a question.....

obviously if u and ur partner pass away u have to leave ur kids to someone, how did you decide who to leave them to??

we dont want to leave them to one of our mums because we still want them to have the normal grandparent role and not the parent role if something happened to us...

so far the only likely candidate we have is ..... wait for it.....

    BIL and the GD.....

because when u narrow it down my bros are 16and 13 kinda not parent material, SIL well she has no idea with kids and lives at home, so then you come to BIL who has a home, is in a stable relationship, nearly has a child of his own so it wont be a massive thing to suddenly inherit a child, basically it all equals a solid upbringing should something happen to DH and i....
BUT i just dont want to commit to it, yet we need to have something in place just incase...

    ideas/thoughts/tips/ stories please!
