Engorgement is starting to settle down already. My midwife said that your body sort of remembers how to do things so hopefully I won't have the oversupply issues that I had with DD1. That lasted for about 3-4 months! Imogen is gaining weight well. She only lost 180g by day 3 but gained it back plus 40g by day7. She is a much more efficient feeder than DD1. Last night she was up to 4 hours between feeds - I hope she keeps that up!
Hi, I am joining even though J was born aaaaages ago, we are going by his adjusted age, plus we only just got home so I feel like I am a new Mum adjusting to home life..
J is 8 weeks adjusted. He has not long started smiling and I love it.. He is a velcro baby, but I don't mind. I am loving being a Mummy
i think my little man is starting to smile. it is often followed by a vomit, but that happens pretty often anyway. i love when he grips my hands. He is not happy atm. He has about 2 or 3 hours a day when he is awake and not screaming, unfortunately it is usually between 2 and 5 am. i see the mchn tomorrow so gonna chat and see what she thinks. i got an aba counsellor to check out his feeding, and she thought there might be something strange going on. Will see an LC and see what she thinks.
Hard to believe it, but coming up to DD2's first birthday too. Better start planning soon! She's crawling very effectively and pulling herself up on everything, but still a bit wobbly about moving on two legs. DD1 was running around by this age unsupported, so it's kinda nice to still have some of the baby stuff. Have no idea what she weighs and haven't had her weighed since six months, but she's a good eater and bfs whenever she wants. Atm that's probably about 6 times a day, random night time ones. Some nights she can sleep from 7pm-7am (rarely), more often she's awake and in bed with us before midnight and then at least once for a bf in the early morning. I don't really pay attention.
She's a cheeky little rascal with such a sense of humour! She cracks up at the most random things and makes us all laugh. She's not silly either, she can undo her seatbelt and get her arms out (five point harness), understands a lot of instructions, caught her trying to plug a double adapter into a power point the other day. She'll keep us on our toes, this one! And she has quite a stubborn streak. She really cracks it if you try to take something off her. She can already throw a bit of a tantrum. And if she wants sympathy for something she can play to a crowd too.
I am enjoying watching her grow into a toddler, I remember how much I loved that with DD1 and I'm so excited we'll be there soon!
Oh, and not so excited, but AF returned at 8 mths, and when it was 2 days late this month I was a little nervous. Luckily, just late, nothing else.
Jennifer- Have you found the days she sleeps 12 hours it affects your supply? my supply is horrid. I have to wake her every night at 10 and try my best to feed her every 2 to 3 hours during the day. It still only results in 6-7 feeds in 24 hours but if I miss just ONE my supply starts dropping.
