Hi ladies I only just made it into this group
Our beautiful DD arrived @ 7:57pm on the 15th of Jan She's the spitting image of me as a baby and I couldn't be happier DH has his mini me in DS and she's mine.
I have missed seeing DS though, because it was all so sudden.

Dunno when I'll post a birth story, but it'll definitely be when I get home!

Welcome to the thread DD and to the world for your bub!

I have to have a TMI woohoo... I did a poo! I was starting to freak out as DD2 is now 6 days old but there was no pain, no drama... just took a while for things to kickstart up again I guess. Just in time for my midwife visiting tomorrow as I'm sure she will ask haha.

Things are going well here. DD1 is still sleeping through which I was worried she might not with DD2 being around, especially as she is a bit of a grunter!! DD1 hasn't seemed disturbed much at all though, I've seen her stir at the noises a few times but falls back asleep without me even going in so that is a relief. DD1 is wanting to feed a bit more during the day as DD2 is obviously feeding often so I've just been going with it for now, I figure in time she will get over the craze. I'm getting pretty good at feeding both at once -- have done so sitting up and laying down! I'm not too worried about DD2 missing out on milk or anything, seems to be heaps in there but will be interesting to see the weight gain when my midwife drops by tomorrow, she only lost about 4% of her birth weight when she was weighed when she came by a few days after birth and I can tell she is definitely getting bigger... we have already packed away the 4 0s which feels so crazy when DD1 was wearing 5 0s still at this point but I guess being a whole kilo heavier at birth I shouldn't be too surprised! Also funny, since many people kept saying those myths about bubs not getting enough because I was breastfeeding while pregnant yet she was a whole kilo heavier... and setting off labour, well she was over 2 weeks later in gestation than DD2 lol.

I keep calling Bree, Immy because they look so similar which I wasn't expecting. It is like going back in time! Although DD2 has a lot more hair than DD1 did (does even haha baldy toddler). They have such similar expressions though... Aubrey, Imogen, Aubrey, Imogen... have to keep reminding myself eek! We are moving house over the next few days (get keys to the new place tomorrow, turn in old keys on Sunday so doing it in stages) which will be good because it is a much bigger place and has been a good chance to ditch some stuff. Hopefully it goes pretty smoothly. Also heading back over the other side of the river so will be closer to my parents and on the way home for my Mum... she's been stopping by everyday already but it is in the opposite direction at the moment so pretty out of the way.

We are co-sleeping. No idea how often DD2 feeds or how long because I haven't really bothered clock-watching at all. Sometimes she feeds and I check the time and think oh I should remember that so I can see but I always forget, seems around 2hrs though I'm guessing. She is a faster feeder than DD1 was... she took about an hour every time and was so sleepy and small. DD2 is a huge guts and I think calm downnnn, she keeps guzzling herself into hiccups!

Inlaws arrive next week, only for two days... not looking forward to that at all. Some people probably know the story...

Jellyfish, was reading ur post and kept thinking "oh me too"! For example dd1 and dd2 are almost identical. Dd is a ranga and dd2 is too although not quite as bright a red. They are both so beautiful tho.

Dd1 as expected is now showing a much greater interest in boobs and has repeatedly asked for a boob. I have said yes as I don't want her feeling at all rejected and I only stopped feeding her when my milk dried up at 12 weeks. I had first tandem feed last night when she was about to go to bed. I went in to kiss her with maddie on the boob. She certainly helped to clear up some of the engorgement! I was amazed at how much milk she seemed to drink in such a short period of time. My boob felt soft for the first time in ages. That is not to say tho that I haven't had to express. I am expressing over 350ml per day now and still spending large amounts of the night and day with rock hard breasts. I think at this rate I will be back to pre birth weight very quickly! Maddie is struggling to latch onto the breast when I am too engorged. I am having to pinch my nipple a bit to help her attach.

Anyway must go change a bum. Love to you all!

DD1 seems to have settled down from her boob craze, I was the same and didn't want to refuse so just went with it and yesterday she only asked once. She did wake up last night and had a breastfeed but then she heard Bree stir and said it was her turn, pulled off and went back to sleep herself so I think she kind of understands which is good!

Cutest thing this morning though... Imogen performed the Lion King sequence on Aubrey (cracked open an imaginary ball in her hand, wiped a stripe across Bree's forehead with its contents, grabbed some pretend dust from the ground and sprinkled it on top)... she was a little annoyed when Bree didn't respond with the appropriate sneeze but I guess this means she has officially been accepted into the tribe She has such a crazy memory, she has only seen the movie maybe 3 times and that was weeks ago now!

Ah Jellyfish, your DD1 is too cute! My DD1 is ever the doting big sister - can't wait to hold, cuddle and kiss her. I guess she's been waiting a while to have a baby sister and is taking full advantage.

We're doing great in the booby dept. No blocked ducts since last week and now H is taking both sides at most feeds, everything has settled into a good rhythm. 100 times better than last time! I have my two week m/w visit today and I will have her weighed again, just for interest's sake. After about 250gm gain in her first 8 days I want to know if my little piggy is still stacking it on!

The 00000 stuff that DD1 was in for about 6 weeks is all going away. DD2 only fit it for about a week! I think I'm more pleased than sad, because she's growing so well just from bbs.

Hope everyone else is well. Bella, I'm going to read your birth story now!

And we've finally picked a middle name. She's Hannah Jane! Middle name is the female version of DP's middle name (John).

Jellyfish, your DD1 is too cute!

My DD1 showed interest in my bbs for the first time yesterday. I was hand expressing into a bowl which caught her attention. She looked very closely at the milk coming out and kept saying "hello" lol. Then she watched intently the next time I fed DD2. She hasn't asked for any for herself, but did keep lifting up her top while cuddling DD2 yesterday.

Last night was a good one. DD2 fed at 7pm then at 12:30am, 4am and 7:30am. So I'm feeling pretty well-rested today. Just as well since I have visitors coming today. Then tomorrow I'm off to the chiro. My pelvis hasn't felt quite right since giving birth. I'll get DD2 looked at as well, but I don't think she has the issues that DD1 had with her neck and hips.

TC - you've reminded me, I need to go and see my chiro too. Not from the birth, but from bfing in bed and holding DD2 while asleep. Baby doesn't have any issues either. Sounds like your DD1 knows how to feed a baby! Too cute.

Well midwife has just left, everything perfect still

Looks like you aren't the only one with a little piggy Jennifer!! I can definitely stop worrying about DD1 hogging the milk or the super speed feeds lol.

    Birth weight: 3844g
    48hrs post birth weight: 3628g
7 days post birth weight: 4139g

500g in 5 days... she did a double take when she went to write it down and said I better just check that again lol.

Hehe Jellyfish, well done to your bbs! We didn't weigh Miss H but my m/w says at least 300 gms or so from looking at her. And she's def longer - since she's outgrowing the all-in-one suits.

Now I won't see my m/w for a few weeks and that'll be the last visit. Luckily I still get to catch up with her at the monthly HB get togethers. Also broached the topic of DTD and how everything will have healed and she thinks I should be fine from a healing POV (i only had a small labial tear and those apparently heal quickly). I told DP he could buy condoms yesterday. Don't want to be giving my m/w another reason to visit!

I weighed Madeleine on Tuesday and she was 3 ounces up on her birth weight. Mind u I'm not certain that that was 100% accurate. So I really only weighed her at the chemist to get a better idea of her starting weight.

Dd is starting to ask for bbs morning and night. To be honest tho I didn't mind this morning cos I was sooooo engorged! She waited quite patiently for Maddie to finish and then said "my turn" lol!

Have just read your birth stories Bella and Jennifer, both such beautiful births!

Moved a lot of our stuff over today, only the essentials left which we will do over the next two days. Then Sunday will be cleaning day before turning in the keys. Can't wait to get into our bigger place!! They say it was a bad time to move but it has been great for me, nobody is letting me do a single thing

Hi girls, hope it's okay if I join in!? I'm a bit late, my DD was born on 6th January at 10.51 am by c-section. Everything went well and she's a big healthy girl at 3.7kg (8lb 3 1/2oz) Still getting used to the whole newborn thing! She was very sleepy for her first week and a half but is starting to wake up now... We had our first cry-a-thon 2 days ago and she's being very unsettled these last 2 days too. I'm thinking growth spurt?!

Her big brother is 23 months and he's been soooo good about the whole thing. He loves his little sister, kisses her goodnight and gives her cuddles. Breaks my heart when he wants to cuddle me (if he's tired or hurt himself) then he realises that i'm busy with bub feeding or whatever and he can't just jump onto my lap he knows he has to sit next to me

Hope everyone else is doing well! Looking forward to chatting with you all
