Funny you should talk about looking back, Jellyfish. We went to the Easter show yesterday and it was exactly the day we went last year that I'd taken a pg test that morning at 10dpo and got a faint positive. I saw a lady at the show with a three mth old and wondered if that would be me this year. And it was!
Congrats on coming up for your first anniversary, Jellyfish! I can't believe we're coming up for 13 years in December - must be nearly time to make it official here.
We have our 7th wedding anniversary this month, but we got together NYE 1999/2000 so only a month after you Jen! Is getting married something you want to really do?
My sister and my SIL have just got engaged so lots of wedding talk going on here.
It is crazy to think a year ago, it was all just starting! Weird how things work out. One of the first things I said to DP when we began dating was I didn't want another baby... DD was still waking frequently through the night, I was planning my return to uni (Marine Biology) this year but I guess it was meant to be. When I see DD1 and DD2 together, I'm so happy they have each other. Yesterday, DD1 was taking photos of them both and she would look at DD2 first to see what face she was doing and copy it! I now have the cutest blurred photos of them poking out their tongues, big open mouths and smiles.
How funny, Hot1! We met Nov 1999 and started going out a few days later. We moved in together after about 9 mths. I would like to get married and DP has suggested he might like to next year. We'll see...
I was only 22 when I met DP. Hard to believe how fast the time has gone.
Jellyfish, your DDs sound so cute together! DD2 now seems to find DD1 more interesting than everything/one except me. They are besotted with each other. It is lovely to watch her smiling at her big sister so much. DD1 has already informed DP that we should have another baby too.
I am loving this babyhood phase. DD2's at that great age where she needs nothing but cuddles, bbs and clean nappies and clothes. She finds me much more interesting than toys. I so appreciate all the snuggles this time around - it goes by fast!
We have had a fussy baby lately being typical three C's of wonder week but the little man had a overnight of bed at 7pm and slept right through till 555am the had a quick feed and went back to sleep at 615am and I woke him at 715am to start the day!!!

I just now discovered we had a January babies group!
Violet is almost 3 months old and it feels like just yesterday she was born.
She is still breastfeeding like a champ which makes me so happy.
We discovered she is allergic polyester and had to buy all different cloth diapers as they were made out of microfleece. If polyester touches her skin it irritates some horrible exzema.

Jen - I know, I couldn't believe it when DD2 sat up. Was not expecting that so soon. We were hanging out with my brother and he wanted to cuddle her but was nervous of holding her, so he sat on the floor with his legs open and I propped DD2 so she was reclining against him. Next thing I know she's pulled herself forward and was able to hold it for a short while.
minivini2b - A woohoo is definitely in order! I hopefully he keeps it up.
The Mrs - I know I can't believe how fast it's going this time. I'm enjoying it more but I'm sure it's faster this time around.
I love watching my two girls together. DD2 watches DD1 whenever she's not chatting to me. And DD1 copies what I do with DD2 - it's so cute and makes for so much fun. We're having loads of giggly, fun girly moments here lately.
DD2 is also rolling consistently from back to side now. Its so cool to watch as DD1 never had any interest in rolling (although of course, now she does because her little sister does it). And DD2 has to touch everything whereas DD1 was a watcher. They are so different already.
No rolling here and so not in a hurry for her to move (or grow up...). DP is enjoying this time much more too and so far it's been so stress-free on every front.
Went to my postnatal exercise class today and while she's on holidays DD1 watches DD2 while class is on. She loves looking after her baby sister! My tummy muscles are a bit floppy still, but I'm getting there. Tried my postnatal yoga on Tues and there are other muscles that really need work too.
DS rolled from front to back again today. Also had him weighed and measured today at 3 months - 6390g weight 61cm length and 42.8cm head. His head is still at 98th %ile but length and weight down to the 50th %ile (from 98th %ile at birth). i think he is just settling into his genetic determined size and if he follows DD will go along bw the 25th and 50th for weight.
although if he startes to keep down more of the milk instead of chucking it up, he will end up back at the top again.
i have a meeting tonight very close to home, and still deciding whether to take DS. meetings are on monthly, and dd has gone since she was 4 days old and only now are we getting a babysitter for her. she has been happy and not disruptive at all until recently, but i think she has had enough. however, DS is happier to be in bed in the early evening, and i think it will be too stimulating for him to sleep. just hoping i can get him in to bed before i have to leave. i am only 3 mins away if he wakes and i can come home. dh is working so i don't even have him to share baby duties at the meeting. it will only work athome if he is asleep, DD is enough for the babysitter to handle!
my body is faling apart at the moment, my hip is really sore and i think i need to get it checked out.
We have rolling from back to front now too! He kinda pulls his legs up into a ball and then goes over. Had first loud giggles yesterday, was so lovely to hear.
my DD has a guard on the side of her bed, but doesn't seem to move much and gets on and off by herself. wondering if i could move it from there to our bed, so bit of protection if he goes rolling in the night before i realise.
a close friend of mine has just moved to palliative care, quite sudden and unexpected. i visited the other day and was initially going to leave DS with my mum but decided to take him with me. i think having a young baby to chat to was actually quite nice for my mate and his visitors. thankfully, ds was quite charming and i left before he got grizzly.
Hey girls just thought is come and say hey and update I on my little guys progress. He got weighed on Friday at 16weeks and is now 7.4kgs, 65cm and 41.5 HC (birth stats 3.35kg, 52cm and 38cm)
I think we are coming to the end of a wonderweek thankfully lol! No he hasn't been too bad but we have had a few afternoons of waking from his nap and just screaming and nothing would calm him down except for Boobie which is fine except on the odd day when I've ducked out and not expected it and haven't left any bottles with hubby! Lol that was a fast drive home!!
We seem to be having an issue with his resettling in the afternoon nap he will usually sleep 1.5-2 hrs from 2pmish and normally is fine but this past week has been waking at 1hr and crying. He is def still tired and will eventually go back to sleep so it's just weird that he is having trouble resettling himself after doin it for two months now? Does this often happen at four months?
Hope everyone is goin well. I'm heading back to work in five weeks so I am trying to soak up as much as my little guy as I can - I am going to miss his smiles and giggles so much!!!
Is there a wonder week about now? DS just wants to be held constantly. He seems to be feeding a bit more (and vomiitting more tooo), so maybe a growth time coming up?
Yep there's a wonder week around week 19. Fussiness can start as early as 14 weeks. DD2 has been wanting to be held constantly the last couple of days. She's been feeding almost constantly this afternoon and wasn't very happy when I tried to wrap her on my back so I could get some things done. Thankfully DH has had the day off so took DD1 out for most of the day.
Well, DD2's sleep wasn't great last night - right on 4 mths! But it was more extra bfing than being unsettled. And she had some truly smelly farts, so I got up and changed her, thinking she must have pooed, but no! So I kinda woke her doing that. She's too cute with the smiles, giggles and chats though, it's easy to forgive her.
She's a much more intense baby than DD1. She likes to study things and she needs to warm to situations and ppl before she's comfortable. Then she gets all smiley and happy. She can hold things in both hands now and put them in her mouth and she wiggles her legs and bottom around so I don't think it's long before she rolls over.
As a sidenote... my DD1 has decided milkies is just for babies and she is now a "girl"... coincided with toilet training and all the emphasis on her growing up. Half expecting a relapse, stoked she came to the decision herself... little bit conflicted, feeling like my security blanket (the antibodies, guarenteed nutrient hit, constipation keeper awayer, instant sleep settler etc etc) has been pulled out from under me but I guess I would feel like this no matter when?? She suddenly seems so much older...
