Mama Pan I've been wrapping and using a sleeping bag for four or five weeks now, maybe even a little longer. Ash started moving around a lot in his cot and I found him with the blanket up over his mouth one day so decided it was time to invest in some sleeping bags. I did try weaning him from the wrap (wrapping him with one arm out etc) but found that he wasn't sleeping nearly as well so decided to leave it. Now I wrap him and then put him in the sleeping bag. Most times he will get the wrap undone, but for some reason he still sleeps better with it. I got the Merino Kids gogobags which are great. They were a bit pricey, but they are made from merino wool so you can use them at between 18 and 30 degrees which means I won't need to worry about winter/summer weights.
Sarah, so glad to hear the cot sleep went well. It's such a good feeling when you finally try something you've been worried about being a disaster and it goes really well. I find it a great boost to my mothering confidence!
LF, so far daylight savings has worked wonders for us, Ash slept through the night Saturday and Sunday night! It was great, we went to a friends place for dinner on Saturday night and had a few drinks. Gave him a feed at 11pm before we came home and then he slept through until 7am. I fed him then and then he went back to sleep till 10am so we got a great sleep in.
Heva, sorry to hear your nurse has put you off the mchn. I also didn't like mine so have just started making appointments with another nurse at our centre.
Jess I hope you manage to get in to see your doctor sooner and that things have gotten a little bit better for you the last couple of days.
I still wrap hayley at night, although it doesn't take long for her to get both arms out! Think she is having her wonder week at the moment. She hasn't slept much during the day the last couple of days - half hour max at each sleep! During the night she keeps crying during her sleep too...get up and pop her dummy back in before she wakes herself up and she goes back to sleep, but I've been getting up to her at least 3 times a night.
She has learnt how to blow raspberries though, so has been doing that almost non-stop! It's quite funny, she's also dribbling lots. She is getting very chatty and had another giggle today, we were outside and she started laughing at the dog again. she did it the other night when DF had her dancing on his lap. She managed to roll onto her tummy this afternoon too, although not completely as she still had one arm caught underneath her. I've noticed she only rolls to one side though, is that normal? I haven't seen her roll onto her right side yet, only her left...
I am hating daylight savings! We didn't have dinner until nearly 9 last night! Although she did sleep in almost until 8 this morning.
Anyway better go pop the little grub into a bath...she just peed on the carpet!
Bek - Hi! We are still getting up two to three times a night for a feed. Lucky you having a lovely sleep. I sometimes get to sleep until 4am and am hoping she sleeps through soon. Monique slept through at 6 weeks old from around 9pm to 9am which was lovely. I like having Amelia next to me for feeding as well. DH and I tried sleeping in the same room but I felt like I didn't get any sleep getting up and down with Amelia. So much easier and quicker to settle if she is next to me.
Mamapan - love the new name. I put Amelia in a sleeping bag from around 1 month old and it was the same with Monique.
ss_storm - way to go Hayley, clever girl. Amelia blows bubbles too and is so cute. We had a near giggle but not a proper one yet. I grew up in Wagga and used to love the show.
sloane - looks like the transition went well. Corey is going great.
heva5 - Amelia fits in size 0 bonds wondersuits and is snug in 000 other brands.
Amelia loves her big sister and smiles and coos at her all the time. Soooo cute.
am typing one handed so sorry i didn't respond to everyone.
bek - i'm getting up to feed at night. corey still wakes for 2-3 feeds a night...i'm hoping he drops to 2 consistently soon & then to 1. he's dropped from the 3-4 himself so i hope he keeps going the same way!!
