    Hi all

Bek, hope this week is better for you Boy you are close, aren't you! I think a meet-up is definitely in order :-) - Anyone else nearby?

Sarah sounds like Corey is doing really well I find it hard to tell if it's a wonder week sometimes..

Miss E hope Ash feels better soon. I have read good things on here about the amber teething necklaces? I am thinking about seeing if I can get one for Arlea. I thought she might have been teethign yesterday too but now I'm not so sure.

Storm, I'm no help at all with the sling I'm afraid! Hope someone else can help. Glad to hear you had a good weekend

Cate mothers group sounds lovely. Enjoy the nice weather this week... I should be out walking while it is nice & not too hot...

Leckert great news about the CC Good to hear the cradle cap is going. We are using MooGoo on Arlea's, it's nearly gone but I need to do it another time or two to clear it right up, it's persistent stuff!

MamaPan nice to hear all is well. Beach sounds lovely. I have been thinking about it lately, we nearly went the other weekend but I am a bit worried about the sun on Arlea, I am thinking about getting a shelter. Do you have anything you are using?

Jetta glad to hear the move has gone well, pita about the internet though! I agree it would drive me nuts too! fingers crossed it's back on for you soon.

AFM, yep still expressing.. I have a huge supply & I have finally admitted it is time to try & wean it down a bit, it just keeps growing the expressing is getting easier though & we are all adjusting to life with the pump, lol - Pan I did cry for a few days, then I picked up my pump & got on with it
Miss AR has been very unsettled yesterday & today, she cried for an hour or so yesterday morning and for a bit last night too, which is so unlike her, she never cries! usually a dream baby so I was a bit worried. I thought she might be sick...then we though she might be teething, she settled down chewing on my thumb... she's a bit better today but still not quite herself, I am wondering if she is having a wonder week.... I guess only time will tell which it is!
She rolled from her back to her tummy on Saturday, yet to repeat the feat but she's not far off.

Oh, and we STILL don't have the cot in our room, so now I have finished pumping I am off to start moving furniture up there, if DH won't do it I'll do it myself lol

    Hope everyone else is well

lol that everyone is mentioning teething - after i wrote we haveno sign of it here i thought hmmm, maybe we do, he has quite red cheeks and has been drooling up a storm... and a bit unsettled... i think with N this happened a while before i ever saw a tooth.. so who knows???
Jasp - I have a cancer council tent to use on the beach - if we do end up on the beach... i love the beach but do find it hard to be down there much with a really little bub - well i did with N. regardless i use the tent for N also. it will just be noce to get away.
No signs of rolling here - i think maybe i dont do enough tummy time, he loves being on his mat though (but is usuall yon his back - bad mummy!)
are any of your babies waking early and being unsettled, crying, goaning etc in the morning? i find J wakes around 5ish and is quite unsettled and hard to settle til 7ish - like maybe wind pain? but i have tried using infacol overnight and it didnt help.. so not sure... anyone else??? i do notice he often does a big poo sometime in the morning - like 9 or 10am so maybe that has something to do with it (though not sure i can help him there)

    Hi Ladies,

Pan - Don't feel silly complaining, going solo is difficult however many kids you have lol!! It's funny this time last year I was nervous becaue DH was going to India for a week and I was all alone with the 2 kids, one year later and now there is 3 TMI we actually conceived Eva the day before he left lol!!

Re waking up cranky: Eva some times is cranky around 4am and it usually results in her passing a lot of wind. hth and I hope this little phase ends asap. You could try only feeding him off one breast as much as possilbe before he finally goes to sleep at night. This will ensure that he gets more hind milk and less foremilk which can cause wind.

Jetta - Enjoy your beautiful new home

Jasp - Yes we should do a meet up soon. How is Arlea going at daycare? Are you going to try and stopping expressing all together?

I can't believe all the bubs that are rolling and possibly teething. I don't think I give Eva enough tummy time, so rolling is probably a while off yet. Atm she loves her hands and is putting them in her mouth all the time.

So far so good, I am surviving the week..it is early days yet.

    Best go

Just quickly - Bek I love the idea of a meetup, just let me know when
Arlea is doing great at FDC, it's me that has a hard time - but I think it's better for her to start now anyway, at least that's what I tell myself!
My minimum goal for expressing is 6 mths, I'm halfway there already and then we will see. I would really love to make 12 months & atm it feels like I can - but it's a long way off yet so we will see. And it would be great to do even longer but I don't know how DH would feel about that lol, we will see...

MamaPan we are kind of the same here re tummy time, she doesn't like it much so I tend to be a bit lazy with it - but I think they will kind of do it when they are ready anyway? Arlea gets stuck on her nose atm, quite cute but a bit frustrating for her

MamaPan - when I read your post I was relieved I am not alone at 5am. Amelia has been waking up at 5am and I finally get her back to sleep around 7am and then her big sister wakes up and wants to very loudly say hello to her and wake her up I think it is wind pain with her and sometimes I have to change an enormous poo around 6am.

Bek - I hope all goes well while DH is away. Amelia doesn't get enough tummy time or mat time when her big sister is home because I have to watch her like a hawk. She loves to be so close to her baby sister that she is always squashing her. Amelia LOVES Monique and always smiles and 'talks' to her even when she is being squished so that is nice. Amelia cracks it if I leave her on her tummy for more than a minute. I even tried rolling a towel up under her chest but she didn't like it.

So clever all these rolling babies

Jasp - well done on the expressing. I know how time consuming it is so you are doing really well.

Jetta - glad the move went well.

I don't want to know about babies sleeping through the night LOL. I was up every 2 hours last night and still usually about twice every night. It will be so nice when Amelia decides to finally sleep through. I might try dream feeding to see if that will work.

Amelia has terrible cradle cap too but I always forget to put anything on it.

I hope mums and bubs are doing well. I'm off to bed.

tinsel - your girls sound so beautiful together! even if it does involve some squishing! don't worry - no sleeping through here either!

jas - wtg on the expressing - i think you're an absolute wonder woman! how's arlea today? i hope she's settled down & back to her happy self/ i guess at least if it is a wonder week then she might have something cool to be able to do at the end of it? well, that's how i justify them!

bek - hope everything is still going smoothly!

mamapan - we did have that until a couple of weeks ago - every morning around 5 & then all of a sudden it stopped, but i have no idea when...i just realised one day that he hadn't done it for a while & can now be settled for fed back to sleep until around 7-7.30.

jetta - wtg sam on the roll! hope you're enjoying your new house

cate - hope you enjoyed the lovely sunny day yesterday, sounds like we might have another one like it tomorrow!

hi to anyone else i've missed!

okay, so we now have a crazy little roller on our hands here...corey really worked it all out yesterday & he just kept rolling & rolling all afternoon this morning i put him down for his usual morning stretch & kick but nope, it's all about rolling now - pref from his back to his front. yesterday afternoon he was doing a kind of commando crawl - he didn't get far but he just wants to be moving all the time ...yikes. now i need to work out how to keep him entertained! must be tiring tho - he's been asleep for 1.5 hours. but apparently thirsty work as well - he's still waking for feeds about 4 times a night at the moment!

wow - what clever bubbas we have in here with all the rolling and moving around. I am impressed!!!! glad a few others are slack on the tummy time, i have had the major guilts about that...
Tinsel - our households sound the same - Noah is the same with Jacob - it is gorgeous! it also means poor J doesnt get as much sleep or time on the ground etc... as there is so muchnoise and i cant leave him in case Noah falls on him of squishes him totally. but i love watching Noah with Jacob and the way Jacob smiles up at him.
Re the pain at 5am - i just bought some brauers colic relief as someone ib my other buddy group said it was good.. wll let you know how it goes. i do prefer to use something homeopathic.
well i am busy here today packing for our beach trip - seems most of the house has to come with us.my mum arrives tyoday so i think DH and I will put the boys down and then go out for dinner. been a long time since it was just the 2 of us for a meal... i will only be 5 mins away so it should be ok.
just had osteo for J's neck - seems to be on the improve but still needs more work...

Well.. I read your posts yesterday about the 5am pain & thought 'what a relief we don't have that...'
yep you guessed it 5:30 this morning we were awake... luckily it only took about 15 minutes for 2 huge burps & she settled back down.
I found it pretty amazing that it happened right after reading about it yesterday! Just had to laugh.

She was much better yesterday, & today (after her morning burps lol) - back to her normal self. So now I am wondering if it's just mum's house she doesn't like? Sounds silly but babies can pick up on so much

oh and WE HAVE THE COT UP! she slept in it last night & although she looks tiny in it she also looks much more comfortable

Sloane love the mental picture of your 'crazy roller'! It's great watching them work out new stuff & loving it so much. I would think his new-found ability will keep him entertained for a bit

Tinsel hope you had a better night? Arlea is waking two or three times a night if you count her dreamfeed... I started it thinking it would take her past 2 or 3am but no, she kept that feed & just added the 10pm one hugs to you it WILL get better!

MamaPan hope you have a nice day at the beach. Dinner for two sounds lovely, enjoy!

I should go get some work done while she is sleeping ......

LOL Jasp - sorry I hope i didnt jinx you!!! hope it was a one off!
WTG on the cot - we really need to do that - he is way too big for his moses basket now... it is just that i cant stand the thought of moving him out of our room... and I dont think Noah would take too kindly to the cot being in our room... i guess after we get back from hols we will have to do it...
J also has 2 - 3 feeds overnight... i dont see any signs of sleeping through here!! but aside from the 5am antics he is great to settle (self settles to go to sleep at 7.30 - big shock to me, Noah still wont do that LOL) so i am ok with how things are. i guess i have to be - i cant MAKE him sleep longer!
I will probe be back on later but in case I am not have a fabulous week lovely ladies - will be back from the coast on tue afternoon so will check in then...

    Hi Ladies,

MamaPan have a great time at the beach! A beach holiday sounds fantastic!

Yay for getting the cot up Jasp, DH and I are planning on changing Ash's bassinet over to the cot on the weekend, just need to go and by some linen for it first...

Wow it seems Corey is on the move Sarah! He must be so proud of himself. Ash has rolled a few times, but doesn't do it very often, I think when he does it he suprises himself and still hasn't quite worked out how he does it iykwim.

Tinsel it must be lovely to watch your girls together, sounds so sweet!

Bekz, hope you are still surviving, must be hard doing it all with three kids while DH is away...

Glad the move went well Jetta. I hear you on the internet, I think I would be lost without it. Ours is really slow at the moment cos we've exceeded our downloads and I'm banging my head against the wall, I don't know how I'd go without any.

Glad to hear you got CC place Leckert, must be a big weight off of your mind.

AFM Ash's teething symptoms seem to have settled down today, but he is still terribly grizzly and not sleeping at all well during the day... I'm beginning to wonder if we are having a wonder week because he is also feeding a lot. We used to go three to four hours between feeds, but the last few days I don't think we've made it to three hours once. And his naps are all over and done with within 40 minutes. Today I decided to go in and see if I could settle him through the end of the sleep cycle. So I went in there 30 minutes after he went to sleep a found him wide awake (this happened a couple of times). I know he went to sleep cos I checked on him beforehand, but it seems he may only be sleeping 20 mins or so at a time. So by the end of the day I have a very, very over tired grizzly little boy. I'm also finding that he seems to be getting really frustrated (probably a symptom of being overtired). It's almost as if he wants his hands or body to do things that he can't and when it doesn't work he cracks it... Oh well, hope it settles down soon, it's been like this since Saturday and this poor mummy is starting to wonder where her happy, smiley little man has gone. Anyone else having probs like this?

Yep, us...she was back to normal yesterday but not so good today & she is usually THE happiest baby I have ever seen...She is needing a LOT of extra cuddles & help settling to sleep.... I thought on monday she was sick, I'm sure now that she is not, she's either teething or it's a wonder week... possibly a wonder week as she has started REALLY laughing today and rolled on Saturday

yep, in the middle of all her grizzling I can get her to laugh over & over for the first time, go figure

wonder week here too - as well as I had gastro - not fun!

But weighed yesterday and she has finally hit 6kg and 60 cm... her sister was that at 2.5 months! Oh well, fred seems to be very different to her sister in personality, eating and sleeping, why not size! She is giggling, laughing, rolling and chatting happily.

Sorry for the lack of personals, so much house work to do. DH should get his cast off on monday. 9 weeks in a cast has meant that everything is left for me to do. he can start doing some next week!

    Question

    Hey ladies,
quick question, my little man (16 weeks) hasn't got much interest in toys, he'll look at and watch them and occasionally bat and grab the toys dangling in front of him in the bouncer/pram (not too sure if this is intentional or not) but he makes no effort to reach or grab at toys, even when I try to put a toy in his hand he just drops it, is this normal for his age or should he be holding stuff by now?
He does love looking in the mirror and playing games with me and other people. Could it just be that the toys dont really interest him enough to motivate him? They are bright colorful, some rattle or play music)

He also hates tummy time (with the exception of this morning), he's not puhing up on his arms still and makes no attemps to roll or even look up at the mirror in front of him.
    thanks again

Very quickly, got to take DD to dance -
but Heva, it sounds kind of normal still to me. Arlea will bat at her toys but doesn't do much with them when we put them in her hand.

She is like your little one, much more interest atm in people & faces. I know your LO is a bit older but I still think it's all pretty normal for that age - maybe some of the others with older bubs can say...

Keep in mind too that guidelines for what they should do & when are just that - guidelines - I wouldn't worry too much just yet

We had a bad night last night (for us anyway) she was up every 1.5 - 2 hrs feeding (and I had to work today ! )
Just feeding though no crying so I guess that is someting to be grateful for.

    How is everyone else?

Heather - Fred is the same age and she is doing the same - loves the mirror and people to chat and talk with her but drops toys quickly and isn't very interested in them... about the most interesting thing to her at the moment is her fist

She does like tummy time, for a little while, but prefers to be in her highchair watching us...
