Hi all,

Have to make it quick cos I think Ash is going to wake up any minute now... We had his 4 month shots last night and it was awful. He started crying the minute they tried to give him the oral one and then just got more and more hysterical. Probably didn't help that the were holding his head while they tried to force him to have the oral. In hindsight I wish I had of intervened, no wonder he got so worked up! I got DH to hold him while they did it, cruel I know, but I don't want him thinking I would inflict that on him (poor DH). Next time I think I'm going to take him to my GP. Today he's got a mild fever and is very grizzly, but hopefully it will pass. I have given him some panadol this morning, but will see how the rest of the day goes. I was told that there is no point giving them the panadol before hand because the reaction won't occur for at least six hours afterwards. I've also found last time and this time that the fever doesn't set in till the next day.

We also had his 4 month check up last week. He's spot on for the 50th percentile in height (63cm), weight (6.7kg) and head circumference (can't remember now).

Jetta, just this week I've stopped wrapping Ash. I tried weaning for a couple of days and then yesterday just decided to get rid of it all together for day sleeps. His first two naps were okay, but I find it takes much longer for him to settle as he wriggles around and rolls over again and again. I'm trying to perservere, but will see how he goes. Now that he is rolling he does roll on to his tummy in bed so I really would like not to have to use them anymore. Mind you, before when he woke up I rocked him back to sleep and noticed that when I put him down in his cot he still had his startle reflex, but I rocked the cot each time and he fell back asleep and has been for 25 mins so maybe it isn't a problem. Anyway we will see how we go, not sure if I'm confident enough to try a night sleep at the moment. The last couple of nights he has woken up crying at around 1pm (he never wakes before 4am) so I'm reluctant to do anything that might affect his night sleep anymore.

Sorry for the lack of personals ladies, but better run before he wakes again. Hope everyone is well x
