So on Sunday, I went to get my bleeding checked out. Had bloods taken, swabs, internal and was sent home with a prescription for ab's and something to control the bleeding which I could get filled if I started feeling like rubbish. Yesterday, I felt ok, bloods had shown very slight elevation in an inflammatory marker but nothing of concern so I hung onto the prescription. Yesterday evening, the ***** totally hit the fan. I was absolutely fine at about 8pm, pumped at half eight and noticed I felt slightly off. Half an hour later, I was shivering uncontrollably, not too much later I started burning up. I think I called my midwife at about 10pm, she came straight over and I went straight to our local hospital to get stabilised. At this point, I was barely coherent, could hardly walk and my temperature was 40.5 degrees. Once I was stable, I was rushed through to the big hospital an hour away ( in hindsight I feel a but ripped off cos I was soooo close to getting choppered out). It's weird, pretty much as soon as I got antibiotics on board (3 lots of iv), I picked up and my temp came down. I have never felt so ill in my life. We don't know exactly where the infection came from, whether it is uterine or not but I definitely do have mastitis along with it. Just can't believe how quickly I went down. I'm in hospital now, hoping I won't be in for long - feel like a crap mum cos I am too exhausted and sick to have the girls with me full time. Crapola last few days, can only get better.
