  1. Babies Born ~ July 2012 #1

    :

Hi there lovely mummies, hope all is going well with your little bundles.

All is good here, we have transferred down to our local maternity unit but until I get home to the laptop, my posts will be short. Anywho, Eliza grace was 5lb10oz, born at 10.38pm and Gemma Claire was 5lb6oz, born at 10.40pm in July 15th. They are going great, exclusively breastfed and amazingly have not lost a single gram of weight so mummy feels like she is doing something right at least! We have had some ouchy nipple issues that we are working through and I can tell you that pumping and manually expressing for two is hard work! Got them back on my boob, albeit one at a tone rather than tandem, today which was the best feeling ever!

We will probably be home in Monday do will write something decent then

Melissa - you are a champ! Yes, pumping and expressing is darn hard work. Well done on going home by Monday, that must feel great.

We are no where near going home. DD2 was born the same weight as Eliza and is starting to wake for feeds but still has no clue about sucking. At least another week before we are home. Kinda depressing because the first potential going home date they gave us was today.

Awwww hope you get to go home as soon as practical Maruschke

Mel - great guns Mummy xxx My first was 5pd12, so not much bigger than your girls, but good things come in small packages

Just lurkin as love reading how you are all going, hope to join you all properly soon xx

Mel I am so impressed you are breastfeeding both your girls, you are awesome!! It's hard enough feeding one so well done!

Maruschke, hope it's not too much longer before upu can take DD2 home, it must be tough trying to balance a newborn and toddler xx

Nay, hope you're in here too soon!!!

I bought a hammock today, am hoping it might be easier to get A to sleep in one. I notices yesterday that he sleeps really well in the capsule, even when we've taken it inside and he's still, so wondered if he might like a hammock as he'd be in a similar position. Picked one up second hand but the previous owner co slept so it's never been used. Will let you know how I go...!

You mummies will appreciate this - had a hot bath yesterday and felt a drop in my belly. Looked down to see one breast dropping milk like a tap and the other squirting out hitting the side of the bath! Ah, looking forward to when my milk settles down

    Hi ladies,

    Mel ~ yay, well done.

Maruschke ~ Big hugs my way... Hope you get to go home soon.

lise - I love my Hammock, I had them with the twins, Charlie and now William.

AFM ~ Starting to feel much better, Haven't cried now for a week. Charlie is going well, his sleeping like a champion which is great because the 18mth old has been a huge pain waking 3,4 times during the night. I don't no what his problem is, I'm going to put sam in with him tonight and see if that works.

Glad you are feeling better Cathie

lise - bwahahaha! we have similar breast issues going on here too. Gotta love over supply!

AFM, DD2 decided to take a dummy tonight, which was awesome . I accidently kicked over about 50 mls of EBM and bawled my eyes out. EBM is all I can give her right now so to lose so much gold was heartbreaking. I'm sure in a few weeks time I will look back on this and laugh.

Hi everyone - I'm all set up with a baby on the boob so I thought I would take a minute to get in here properly.

Maruschke - how exciting that she took a dummy! I hope that suck reflex gets really strong quickly for you - I can't imagine how disappointing it would be to lose that much expressed milk I hope you get to take DD2 home safe and sound soon!

Cathie - it's good to hear that you've been feeling better. How awesome that he's sleeping well - doesn't seem fair to have a good sleeping newborn and you still aren't getting any sleep lol I hope it gets sorted soon!

Lise - how is your hammock working out? My milk was like that with DD1 lol it would squirt all over her face while I was trying to get her attached lol made for interesting times!! This time it hasn't been quite as extreme - just dripping but no squirting across the room lol.

Melissa - how wonderful to hear you'll be home so soon! I can imagine breastfeeding two must be daunting - I'm finding one hard enough lol - I hope the sore nipples have passed now for you.

Afm - I've been having heaps of problems with feeding this last week and sometimes I am so over it! It seems like I get to the point of giving up and then the next feed she will attach perfectly lol. I really didn't even consider that I would have any issues after feeding DD1 so easily - this little one just won't open her mouth wide enough! I've tried to contact my local ABA group 3 times now and haven't heard anything back which is really annoying - I'm going to ramp up my efforts next week so I can hopefully get on top of it all soon.

Besides that we have settled in really well. I've had a few teary moments (usually to do with BF) and a headache I just can't budge - both I'm putting down to hormones. Anyone else have a headache?

DF goes back to work on Thursday next week and I am so not looking forward to it. It's been so awesome having him around and I'm really going to miss him. I have no idea how I'm going to survive the first few days of juggling both DDs and the school run - its going to be interesting lol.

    How's everyone going?

DD2 is 2 weeks old tomorrow and DF is going back to work I so want to throw a tanty and make him have a sicky - I'm going to miss him so much!!! I am really dreading the school run by myself too - it has the potential to just end so badly!!!

I'm hoping my steady flow of visitors will be coming to an end for a while tomorrow - we have my step sister coming over in the afternoon for some baby gazing and then that's everyone covered - looking forward to not playing hostess all the time!

Enough of my whinging for one night I think lol sorry ladies I guess I just needed a sook.

Hope your all getting lots of sleep xx

    Hi July mums

I haven't posted much... DD2 isn't with me at the moment so I am not really doing mum duties other than pumping so I kinda don't have much to add and I've been hanging out in the premmie threads. When she is home I hope to participate here more.

Hope everyone is well slept (haha!) and getting their BF journey set.

    Enjoy your bubbas

Hi everyone congratulations again on all your bubbas......
Even though i was due in July, i became a June mumma, but im friends with most of you on FB anyway so i wont miss out on to much i hope.....
Its been exahusting yet exciting at the same time, Alana is now a 1 month old, time flies so fast, she was doing small smiles for the past almost 2 weeks and now as of yesterday is doing big gummy smiles, is making all the doubting i was having go away (to some degree)
Being a mum to 3 is hard, i dont know how you do it Cathie, school runs, house work, kid at home and a newborn ahhhhhhh lol (at times ive had to pull myself back and slap myself, its only been x weeks since birth why the hell am i trying to be super woman, im still having to do it, i dont know why, but if i dont do it, it doesnt get done, so my house would look trashed ALL the time, tea wouldnt be served til 7-8pm, kids never bathed, shopping never done.....lol sorry a little rant i know)
Anyway congrats again, cant wait for the rest of our July mummas to join
