Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
I'm reading along, not getting a chance to get on computer atm but hopefully I will soon so I can reply properly. I love reading everyone's progress too, and what new things the little ones are in to. : )
Atm, we are trying to take steps too, lunging like vic's jack is doing. We have 6 teeth, 4 on top & 2 on bottom. Getting some more somewhere bc he's drooling again, runny nose & chomping on things. He's wanting me a little bit more atm, which is kind of nice bc he's not a clingy baby really. Quite happy to play on his own, checking in with me every now & then. Loves to clap, put objects in boxes/containers & just generally be where he's not allowed (ie kitchen, bathroom...)! : )

Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
so tired. little guy now has his first real cold. snotty nose, temps, cough - still manages to smile though. he's a little champ. sleep has plunged even further in to a hole though... I've dragged the mattress in to the lounge room & we've all been sleeping there. little guy can't sleep unless he's propped up & is needing a lot more comforting, so I'm finding it easier this way. and I must say, dh & I are quite liking the co-sleeping... so gorgeous to look over & see his sweet little face. although its rough atm, waking every hour. :-/

Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Sorry to hear that your little one has a cold Andie :(
Hand, foot & mouth has hit the building. He woke up from his nap on Friday lunchtime covered in a rash and its now turned into blisters. Its pretty horrible and he is so sooki and clingy. We have been in lock down since Friday and think I will be taking the day off tomorrow too. Lucky today is a public holiday. Jack has only had yogurt the last few days and barely and bottles but figure he will catch up after he gets better. Its been full on with him the last few days. Not much sleep during the day either. Its also hard not having family support. We dont have any here although we have awesome friends but they have little ones so don't want to pass it on. DH has been awesome too however yesterday he needed a break and went out the back and started his vegie patch. He came back in refreshed so it was worth it.
I still love being a mum though!!!

Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Andie and Vic, sorry to hear you have sick bubbas :(
We've had a constant cold for months now, but I think her immune system has finally built up because she seems ok....until the next outbreak at daycare lol
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
We have a cold here as well :/ it's been for the last week or so :(
Hope all for little ones and you are doing better soon xo
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Sorry to hear about the unwell bubbas, hope these colds & infections pass quickly.
Andie, sorry you are having such a rough time with the sleeping! It does get easier, eventually... I promise. My boys were both shocking sleepers. My DD2 STILL wakes me at night for various reasons (bad dream, to ask if he can have a lunch order at school that day, to tell something he forgot to tell me yesterday, to give me a hug, etc). And he ends up on the floor beside my bed most nights.
Can't believe it's less than 2 weeks until my DD turns 1 - this past year has gone so quickly!! And I've also been thinking, the age DD is now.... it's the same age DS1 was when DS2 was born - crazy!
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
thanks, peeks. lol at waking you up to give you a hug... you'd have to be like 'thanks, buddy', but really feel like saying 'could that not have waited until 7am??!'. I feel my little one is doing the newborn thing in reverse, he was great sleeping until 7ish months. now he wakes all the time, won't go to sleep in his cot now - I have to sit next to his cot, hold his hand & sometimes lay on my bed with him until he goes to sleep, put him back in to cot only to have him wake again after his sleep cycle of 40 mins! This has just started since he's been sick (the not settling in cot thing). It's intense at the best of times, but really hard work as I'm sick atm too. I'm sure it will get better... :-/

Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
had our weigh in this week, 7.1kgs at 10 months & 3 weeks?! 73cms long, up 3cms in 2 months. what's everyone else weighing/measuring these days? : )
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
DD is 11 months , 5 days she is 8kg and 74cm . As of yesterday :)
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Mchn appointment isn't until next month, but DH jumped on the scales with her and said she was about 10kg, but she just looks like an average baby weight wise, so who knows. But she is in 10-13kg nappies, has been for a couple of months now....
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Not sure about weight/height here either. Seems to be average? Not huge, but not tiny either?? I know she feels heavy after carrying her for a while lol ;)
Can't believe this time last year I had already been having contractions on and off for 10 hours!
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
I know how you feel peeks, my little guy is 11 months today. I can't believe he is 11 months already. :-/
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
It goes far too quick!
DD had an awesome day yesterday, thoroughly spoilt! Got lots of awesome new toys to keep her busy :)
I hope everyone is well! How are you going, Andie? Hopefully getting some more sleep.
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Ohh peeks it was her birthday ?? Yay a happy birthday beautiful little girl :)
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
didn't realise it was your little ones bday peeks, happy belated birthday! not sure if you have a ticker for her, but I'm always on my phone so can't check. and to answer you question... no - no more sleep here. last night was 10, 2am, 5am & up at 6.30am. he was wake from 2-3am too. I think I broke mine... better take him back to the shops & get a sleeping one! ; )
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Peeks - are pg again? ?? Your ticker says your 12 weeks. If so a massive congratulations.
Andie- it can definitely be challenging surviving with lack of sleep. Is he cold perhaps or maybe teething? Could be a wonder week. Ugh! Who knows lol.
As for me Jack has a touch of pneumonia. Antibiotics seem to be doing the trick. I cant belive next Friday I will have a one year old. *sniff* where did my bubba go. He is taking a few steps and is thoroughly pleased with himself.
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Thanks for the birthday wishes for DD :) She did have a ticker... up until a few days ago when I switched to a new pregnancy one!! We will be welcoming super surprise #4 in early Jan - eeek! :)
Andie, sorry you're not getting more sleep yet :( It does get easier.... eventually. Hang in there x
vic, I hope Jack is feeling better now :)
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Peeks, your a machine! And happy birthday to your little girl.
Andie, I have no advice on that one unfortunately as we used controlled comforting. why do you suspect he is waking so frequently?
Vic, sorry to hear jack is unwell, hope is makes a quick recovery. I wanted to ask you how many bottles a day does jack have? And is he still on formula or have you transitioned to cows milk? I forgot to bring a bottle to daycare the other day so they tried cows milk watered down and dd didn't want a bar of it.
Cinder, how is your little one doing?
DD is doing well, she has 7 teeth!! Growing more and more confident every day, but doesn't seem interested in walking yet. Were just having a small party for her birthday with our families and a couple of friends. Can't believe she is almost 1! :)
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
vic - I don't know what's going on really. I think it's just what he does now. it's just so random though, last night he woke at 11pm, 1.45am - then wouldn't go to sleep so came in our bed. night before he slept 7.15pm-4.15am (an 8 hr stretch is unheard of here) fed & went to bed for another 3 hrs. I've given up trying to figure it out.
I really hope jack is better now, we ended up having to give our little guy AB's too. Really didn't want to but he was getting quite bad with a chest infection. :-/
peeks - huge congratulations! you kept that very quiet...! #4... perhaps another girl so they can fight over clothes when they're older?! how you feeling, any ms? xx
tasha - I bet little m looks very cute with her 7 chompers... we still have the 6 although I think he's working on another atm. : )
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Only 4 teeth here although I can see 2 are about to erupt.
Tasha- Jack has 3 to 4 bottles a day. When he wakes in the morning, one when he has his lunchtime nap and one to go to bed. I have not tried him on cows milk yet. Maybe within the next couple of days. Daycare sometimes give him a 4pm bottle but I dont. He only drinks half of that one.
Today Jack is 1! Had a lovely day. Lots of pressies. His party is next weekend and I am excited for him. I have been reminiscing throughout the day about this time last year. I started pushing at 10.45pm and he was born at 11.15pm. What a massive year its been. He truely is our miracle baby.

Who is next on the birthday list? :)
Hope everyone is well, and all those bugs have well and truly cleared up!

Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Jack's party was awesome. It went by so quick. We hired a gymnastics hall for 2 hours and the time flew. Before I knew it, it was time to cut the cake and hand out loot bags. Even pass the parcel was not played :)
Everyone had a great time and I felt pretty proud to be hosting my sons first birthday party. It was certainly one party I didn't think I would ever be hosting. Does anyone else just love being a mum??? Its the greatest feeling in the world.
And yes who is next on the birthday list???

I have a 1 year old today :)

Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Happy Birthday to your girls, Cinder & Tasha :)
We are back home again after another trip to Melbourne. DD was so well behaved again! It's amazing how different she is to both her big brothers - I was scared to leave the house when they were this age!! She's such a happy, easy-going little girl.
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
happy belated birthday to your little ones, tasha & cinder. :happybirthday:
I must be next on the list... actually, think im last on the list?! little one's birthday is this week. he is walking now, properly for the past few days. its a bit scary bc I keep thinking he'll topple over in a door way but he seems quite balanced. looks like ET walking around with his arms raised above his head for balance. ;) he is still breastfeeding, a few times a day. he went down to 1-2 for a while & I thought he was weaning a tad early, but he seems to want it again now. guess it will change again next week. thought I was getting lucky last week, he did 4 nights in a row sleeping though. but back to 1-2 wake ups again. cross your fingers for me that after his first birthday he magically start sleeping through! also, I think he is trying to drop his arvo sleep... nooooooo...
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
I love the walking with the arms raised for balance - soo cute! Won't be long and he'll be running around :) Well done with the breast feeding!! I will keep my fingers crossed for you for sleeping through the night. Hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel, sooner rather than later.
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Thanks ladies :)
Peeks, I reckon girls are way more placid. well, from what i've seen.
Andie, I will keep my fingers crossed  Yay for the walking too, must be so cute to watch.
No walking here yet, she doesn't have the confidence. I try and walk with her holding her hands and she just drops on her bum. She seems to be advancing on the motor skills though. I love watching her little brain tick when she's figuring stuff out :)
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
No walking here yet. He can walk from one thing to another but lacks confidence. He can walk but chooses to crawl lol. I catch him sometimes and as soon as he notices me watching he drops to his bum and starts crawling. Teething like crazy at the moment. Popping a whole heap.
Being at day care 4 days a week I feel like he is constantly sick but today he seems to be well. And its lovely when he is healthy. He is awesome all the time but even more awesome when he is feeling good.
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Congrats on still breastfeeding Andie :)
DD is still feeding as well :)
-
Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Well done to you too, Cinder!
vic, hopefully all these daycare bugs are helping build a strong immune system for later in life?! DD has been unwell more often than my boys were when they were younger, which is of course due to the boys bringing the bugs home from school. Both boys had head lice recently too - thank goodness DD managed to escape that one.
DD seems a bit under the weather today. Has a bit of a temp and just not her usual chirpy self. Poor love. She's back in bed now, hopefully wakes feeling a bit better.

Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
I can join you all now in having a one year old... seems ridiculous that a whole year has gone by. : )

Re: Babies Born ~ July 2013 #1
Thanks, ladies. : )
His birthday was last week but we had a family thing yesterday to celebrate. He coped quite well considering he skipped his arvo nap. Got spoiled with way too many toys that I've had to put some away for later/regifting... I just don't have the room. It was a nice (but exhausting day) & he had fun which is what I wanted. : )
