At 3am this morning I went into check Jack as I couldn't see him on the monitor. He was curled up under the bed. I dont know when it happened. I checked him at midnight and he was in bed. I pulled him out from under the bed and he barely woke.

eeek, big boy/girl beds! vic, that is so funny about jack asleep under his bed... what a little monkey. hopefully it was a one off.
ds is going well, he's starting to have more tantrum type things atm (not really tantrums), but its hard not to giggle bc he's doing the stamping feet thing when he's cross. adorable, but i guess its the frustration coming out so i don't want to laugh & make it worse for him. its usually that he cant do something (putting a lid back on something, putting his shoe on etc). he's discovered where i put my chocolate in the fridge too so gets a bit whingey when he finds it & he cant have it. ive forgotten to get his 18 mth immunisations too, must book that.
Andie, oh gosh don't even get me started on tantrums! DD has them every night we get home from daycare at about 5:30pm. Because she knows I go in the kitchen and cook. So she stands at the baby gate and howls, throws herself on the floor, kicks her legs, rolls around wailing. Tonight we got home and she followed me to the kitchen and I closed the gate, but came back into the lounge with her. Well that was it, she just broke down screaming. She stops for a second to watch the tv and then remembers she was having a tantrum and continues hahahaa. Annoying, but you gotta laugh. I wonder what out neighbors think
Tantrums here too. Or frustration moments as I like to call them. We too have a safety gate on our kitchen. Its ok for one of us to be in there but heaven help us if DH and I are both in the kitchen and he is locked out. I now let him in to get his weetbix out of the cupboard, get the milk out of the fridge, find his cup and plate and help make his breakfast. He can put the toast in the toaster, push the leaver down and get the margarine out of the fridge (if its down low enough) I find if kids know how to do stuff they rarely get into things just for the sake of it. Of course that doesn't stop him getting in the kitchen if we leave the gate open and help himself to the cupboards. He is still a toddler lol.
We has a horrid night last night. He has hand, foot and mouth at the moment. Not a bad case and only just at the beginning so only a few blisters. My BFF looked after him in the morning while we worked and I took him to work with me in the afternoon and he normally sleeps in the porta cot in our back office. He fell asleep in the car on the way to work back from my lunch break and and I put him in the cot and normally its a non event. But yesterday he sat up and howled. The girls in the office all started clucking around him (bless them) and that was the end of that! I had to ring DH to come pick him up. So instead of being asleep by the latest 1.00pm its now 1.45 and DH doesnt get him to sleep until 2.15pm. Normally we wake him at 3.00pm if not awake and when I get home at 4.00pm he is still asleep. So come 4.15 am this morning he is wide awake and crying when I leave him. And now he is in a big bed he gets out of the bed and bangs on the door. Lots of cuddles later, some panadol, nappy change and more cuddles still wont sleep. So for the first time ever at 5.10am, I get into his bed and try to co sleep with him. What a nightmare that was. Who can sleep with their toddler moving, wriggling, chatting and then eventually snoring on them??? I try to sneak out of his bed only to have him sit up and grab me. How stressful!!! We both end up twilight sleeping and DH comes in at 6.20am to say its time to get up. Jack is now snoring his head off and I have to wake him at 7.30am to get his day started back on his normal routine.
Working and having a sick bubba is hard work. I hope that my getting into his bed will be a one off and wont be happening again. I cant cope. My deepest respect for the ladies on here who are struggling with sleeping issues.
Oh Vic what a sucky night DD had hand, foot and mouth last year. Hopefully tonight is a better night for you all. I moved DD into her room very early because I couldn't sleep hearing her noises. So I would be totally useless with co-sleeping Maybe just totally wear him out so he'll just pass out at bed time

DD had hand, foot and mouth last year. Hopefully tonight is a better night for you all. I moved DD into her room very early because I couldn't sleep hearing her noises. So I would be totally useless with co-sleeping
