my first had a normal size bassinette which he used until 5months easily
but because im an idiot (LOL) i had to buy a new bassinette for my younger 2 and ended up buying a BIG bassinette (it needed a custom foam and uses cradle sheets)
but its sitting all pretty like (usually storing the lego) in my lounge rarely used lol

Oh, MOT hope your feeling better soon. I hate throat infections SO much.
B-Glad to hear the colic is settling down. I took Sophies teething neckless off her last week and havent had any major colic bouts but her reflux is stil pretty bad.
Now she is bigger she is learning to deal with it better but it still freaks us out when milk comes flying out her nose and we have nose clearers every where for those times. Its so scarey to see her not be able to breath. It scares me that something will happen at night when we are asleep- so Im not putting her in her cot at night.
The boys go back to school next week YAY! Everybody has really had enough of being home. its been bad holidays this year. Havent been able to take them anywhere and as a result we have bald patches on our couch from where they have been sitting watching tv for days. I try do crafts and pictures and stuff but somedays they just dont wanna do anything like that. Baking has been good for them- try teach them about food and whats good and whats not. Not helping me lose my baby weight though!
Its lunch time so better go
Hope everybody else is good

Morning ladies :) Been a long time since I popped in here! Our internet is seriously bad so I've been on my phone, and find it hard to write proper posts on there.
MoT, I hope you're feeling better soon! Sounds like you're really having a yucky time :(
How is William doing Bskilner? Sounds like his colic and sleeping is settlinga bit, that's great :)
DT, how are you & Sophie doing on your own with the boys at school? I bet it's a lot quieter there at the moment lol.
We're having very unsettled days here. Annabelle hasn't pood since last Monday and it's making her seriously cranky. She's also started chucking a little and is incredibly dribbly. The worst thing is the sleep though! She just will not sleep during the day, unless DH or I are holding her. She'll feed to sleep, come off and milk dribbles everywhere, but put her down and she's wide awake. She'll feed again for two seconds but fall asleep immediately and the whole thing starts again. It's driving me mental cos I can't get anything done and she hates the sling.
Night isn't so bad, she has a bath around 6:30, and feeds to sleep at 7:30 then she's out for the night. Wakes at around 2am, then again when we get up at 5:45. I don't know if that's just a habit now, because even if I give her a dream feed between 9:30-10:30 she still wakes around 2, and again at 5:45 even on weekends.
Hope everyone had a great weekend and all the bubbas are doing well :)
-
KT- i ended up buying a carrier, a baby bjorn cause Hudson hated the sling!!!!! but will live in my carrier!
its amazing how different children are!!! Hudson would also live in his pram bassinette if i allowed it LOL
we had that unsettled (going to send baby back to hosp) days last week, no one could put him down not even over night! and he mainly only wanted me
i havent actually noticed Hudson dribbling but his still SO SO VERY chucky (all 3 of mine were chucky so its nothing new)
my whole house is still sick :( this flu hit us so hard
DT- sorry to hear miss sophie is scary when she throws up, my dd was like that too, yay for back to school LOL
B- hope william is still settling with his colic (my first had it BAD so i feel your pain xoxo)
Hudson is still sleeping in my bed before last week i was planning on moving him into his bassinette but he just became too unsettled hopefully next week (maybe)
KT- my net has suddendly gotten bad here too making it so very frustrating!!!
-
It seems to be that age I guess. We have had an unsettled few days here.
Whats with the dribbling? Sophie is cronic dribbles with bubbles mostly just spit but sometimes refluxed milky 1s- GROSS!
I find Sophie has velcro days, but if she has a day or 2 on me, it seems to make her feel secure. Then after 2 days(ish) I can start to put her down, if I try to do it when shes velcro it never stops
Morning tea time

MoT, are you with BigPond? They are absolutely useless!! Firstly because I set it up on my computer, with a discount from my work, but had to spend hours over three days on the phone with them trying to get it set up. On the last day DH (then BF) got home early so he called for me, they set it up right away and put it all in his name! So now they won't let me call and do anything about it because it's not in my name :wall: Second issue is that it's slower than dial up and even though we've called 4 times about it's not getting better. Grr.
I started a thread about Belley having not pood in so long and included the dribbling, apparently it's normal at this age.
Hopefully the clingy-ness doesn't last too long! Belley fell asleep in the pram on our walk after Rattle & Rhyme, but woke up when we got home. Oh well, at least she had some sleep :)
Forgot to mention she giggled on Saturday! Her first proper giggle, it was so adorable :) She's such a Daddy's girl right now, he was working 12 hour days last week so she hardly saw him, and now she gets so excited when she does lol. So he was kissing her cheeks and she was giggling every time, it was so gorgeous. Had to whip out the camera quickly and video it!

Hi all!!! Been ages!
I just wanted to update on Isla and I. Omg where to begin?
It has been hard raising a baby alone. Not having anyone to hand her to when I need a break, or comfort her, help with bathing etc. DH and I have been slowly getting there, and he's actually moving into our new flat with me on the weekend! :o It will take some adjusting to I think, I've become very independent now, the last 7 weeks (!) of going it alone have taught me a lot. Hopefully things will continue to improve, but I've proven to myself now that I CAN do it alone if I need to.
Isla is amazing :) Perfect bubba. She's been looking after me I reckon. Feeding like a champ, although we're still on the nipple shield, although I'm trying to wean her off it but that's proving a bit hard. Hopefully we'll get there. I'm loving all her fatty rolls, they're so cute. She's smiling heaps although not really giggling or laughing yet...I hope she does soon.
She's been sleeping an average of 7 hours overnight, although lately it's been 9!! I got AF back at 8 weeks, I think due to her sleeping so long with no food. I am kind of interested to see what my cycles will be like post baby, I have to admit. Actually, that reminds me. What sort of contraception is everyone using? One pro of being separated is not having to worry about protection. Hehe.
-
Welcome back PZ :) Sounds like Isla's doing fantastically!
I don't know how you did the single parent gig for so long, I applaud you. When DH was working 12 hour days I was exhausted. Bathing Annabelle, showering, doing anything at all without help took so much planning! I was always so happy to see DH at the end of the day.
I hope your DH moving in goes smoothly for you all :)
As for contraception, I'm on the mini pill. I actually find no af very strange, when I wasn't ttc it was always nice to have that monthly confirmation that I wasn't utd. Now I just have to trust that it's working!
-
Thanks Kaytee. I think part of the reason I avoided this thread for a bit was because I was a tad jealous of y'all enjoying your new buns with the person you loved. Bah, stupid crazy love eh? I'll keep everyone update with how DH and I are going.
I keep tossing up whether to go on something more permanent than condoms, because even though there's only like a 2% chance of us ever conceiving naturally, we did get DD naturally (even if it was two years of trying lol!) and I'm really not wanting the next baby for two years minimum. Realistically more like 4, but I'm already clucky so two is the minimum. On one hand, my cycles are crap, painful and soooo irregular, but on the other hand hormonal contraception doesn't really agree with me.
-
KT- we can only get Telstra here if you looked up my location youd be shocked to find out only telstra works here, weve tried 3, vodafone and optus and only telstra WORKED i hate the added cost!
i love Hudsons giggles :D
he found a basket of washing funny this morning
PZ- whoa, so much been happening for you xoxo (when DH worked 14-15hr days i was alone and its hard)
ive got the implanon as my first 2 were total suprises (jhett was oh we wont fall pregnant OH CRAP and tahtah was i was heavily EMB for jhett and rarely DTD that i was 3months when we realised)
hudson was our planned baby but oddly again i was breastfeeding and it was one time again
so really hoping it WONT fail but my OB assures me it wont
eventually DH will get the snip
-
It's not stupid PZ, I reckon I'd be exactly the same. You know, I avoided birth stories for a while, and took ages to post mine cos I felt like it wasn't 'good enough'. Now I know how dumb that is and how bad it could have been - my little disappointments really are tiny.
MoT, I'm only semi-rural - one hour from Adelaide - and Telstra is the only thing that works here. I hate it. But when we call we're gonna threaten leaving anyway and hope they get their act together. What we're getting is in no way worth what we're paying.
With contraception, the pill is the only thing that really works for us. We both hate the feel of condoms, and I just about faint at the thought of implant lol :) I don't have a problem with hormones affecting me though so don't have any advice for that.
TMI news here lol. Belley has finally pood! It was a monster and she's feeling loads better now lol.

Hi girls. Been reading but not posting cause I'm on the phone lots.
Hamish is going well. Getting bug and chubby and I love it :D. I have gone lactose free and that seems to be helping his wind issues. He's still waking twice a night for feeds and Noah has been waking up as well so dh and I are both pretty tired.
Pz you have been in my thoughts reguarly. I can only imagine what you've been going through. I hope that things work with you and your dh.
Glad to hear everyone else is going pretty well.
As for contraception I have to admit dh an I haven't been using any cause we figured that it was hard for us to get the boys so the chance was limited. Have been meaning to remember to use a condom but you now, caught in the moment and forget  . We are going to use condoms cause we want to start trying again in about 6 months or so and figured we'd save the money :)
-
PZ- really sorry for the rough time you went/going through xoxo (sorry i didnt know xoxo but i admire your strength)
KT- i understand yor birth disapointment xoxox (im actually going to see a pychologist about mine)
Tara- yay for slowly easing poor Hamishs wind its horrible to watch them go through it :(
-
Thanks for all the info re what contraception you're on ladies.
KT, LOL!! Did it absolutely stink?? DD just went 5 days without pooing, and although it wasn't huge (still big, but not huge), it smelled sooooo bad...as did the constant farts she was doing for days leading up to it.
Tara - that's kind of how I feel with contraception too; it was so hard to get preg, it's highly unlikely to be a whoops. I'm just super paranoid. I've also cut way back on dairy (and sugars actually) and am noticing a clear difference in how unsettled/windy Isla has been.
MoT - thanks hun
-
kaytee - when did you have immunisations, coz the week afterwards we found william wouldnt poo for 3 days for over a week, has finally settled down within the last 1-2weeks.
yeh william is much more settled especially last two nights, not much screaming so happy. but he still wakes generally around 3am for feed then 6-7am, then 2.5-3hourly from then on. unless his routine is a bit messed up. and he too is dribbling up a storm, have resorted to bibs to stop his clothes being drenched.
glad to hear she giggled, definately makes up for those hard times.
mot - sorry to hear about the flu, hopefully it eases soon, not much worse than sick kids.
pz - glad to hear youve been coping well on your own, but sad you didnt have the support. my dh had a call out last night which led me to have to cook dinner, bathe william and feed him, and put him down for the night all by myself. my dh only saw him in the morning feeds before he went to work. was definately hard work so i commend you on doing such a great job.
im not on a contraception yet, but i have the mini-pill to start soon, havent really been in the mood for dtd so to speak. what with the healing stitches, then the remaining membrane, and a new baby. not exactly romantic, im scared of it hurting too as we did once and it was still tender.
afm - william is starting to be settled more overnight, but it has only been two nights so hoping its not going to pass. am enjoying the less tears, but as mentioned had to go it alone yesterday as dh had a call out for work and didnt get home til 8.30pm. but we managaed beit me a little frazzled lol. its nice to know that i can do it by myself but prefer not to, so in that respect i feel for you pz, you have been doing an amazing job.
william is growing so much, i think he is almost out of 00, he is so tall. will get him weighed today so see how much he has put on. he is also dribbling up a storm and had reddened cheeks, so dont know if that means teething will be happening soon.
unlike kiri, william is a mummas boy. he will be getting held by someone else then look around for me. when he finds me i get the most beautiful smile and coos its amazing. and when he is withh dad he is looking for me constantly lol. but he does like his cuddles with dh too, which he missed last night. i think he got upset when he was getting ready for bed because he didnt get to see him. poor little man.
he is learning lots now, still hasnt rolled but getting more coordinated with his hands, grabbing at things and hitting at his hanging gym. it is amazing. and had to put him in bath last night as i couldnt shower him myself and he is only long enought to fit in, he was kicking around making his head hit the top and splashing up a storm, i think he really enjoyed it.
-
I love the sound of William splashing in the bath- make a video of it to show him when hes older. My kids LOVE looking at themselves on vids when they were small, pics are great but the vids really capture them.
PZ- Im glad things are sorting themselves out. You do gain incredible confidence and strength by doing what you have done.
I have been through similar to you and I have never regreted it- and I think its good for the men folk to know that just cause we have a baby we arent totally dependant on them, if they cant meet the standard then theres the door buddy! Im proud of you hun
You say you have been off the sugars and that helps- I'll try that cause Sophie is still the cronic stink bug and poops once every 7 days or so- ALSO just weighted myself and found I have put on 2 kgs I cried haha silly aye but I have been making efforts and was sure I would have lost 2 kg
We arent really dtd cause its still uncomfortable for me but we use condoms when we have. I want hubby to get the snip but hes not keen- think he'll feel less a man if he does or something.
Its been raining so much here I cant get any washing dry- it just hangs around on the inside line then starts to smell after 3 days so have to wash it again and every day get more washing, so trying to get a dryer- to just finish things off atleast. Dryers and dishwashers are not things people use here. Gosh alot of families stil dont even have a water heater for showers etc, people just wash in a bucket. My in-laws think Im spoilt I think but also not many families have 3 kids. I hope we can also find a dishwasher soon, but dryer is more impoortant.
Sorry, Im rambling, tired today, Sophie woke up for 4 feeds last night
-
Hello (echoing) hello hello helloooo
How is everybody?
Sophies is really unsettled, crying alot and not eating well (drinking) she has decided not to take mummy and just to have bottles, Im expressing but its not a great soultion as you cant express with a screaming baby on you. We'll see if she will take mummy later tonight. I want to continue BF'ing but she might be like DS1 who went on to bottle at 4 mths- cause you could get more- faster.
Sophie has been wearing afew of the boys baby things and MAN does she look like DS1. they are the same build- european with auburn hair and pale skin, DS2 is more chinese build slim, slim slim and darker hair. Its interesting having mixed kids to see what bits are what
Uhoh she woke up screaming cause I aint holding her (sigh)
Catch you lata alligatas
