Heeellllooooo....!!!
Hehe DT, took a long time for your echo to come back! Very quiet in here...
My internet has been extremely... well... insert various swear words here lol. It's finally decided to allow me to load a site in under 15 minutes, so I'm taking advantage!
DT, I hope Sophie's doing better. It's hard when they're so unsettled and just want you to hold them - very hard to get anything done! I spent the afternoons last week in bed with Annabelle - she'd feed with her eyes closed for close to 4 hours. It was the only way to get her to nap. She was having a wonder week, so at least it's passed now.
How strange is it to see your features in your baby? Annabelle looks exactly like me. Mum has a PixiFoto pic of me at 6 months, in a similar pose to one we have of Annabelle, and it's uncanny how much she looks like me! Trying to get the pic from Mum to put on Facebook and compare. The funny thing is though that her expressions are exactly like her Daddy. Sometimes when he's holding her against his chest facing out they'll both look at me exactly the same way, it cracks me up
PZ, how are you doing? Hope the move went well and you're getting lots of help from your DH - not that you need it, you've proven that you're a fantastic Mumma who can do it all! I saw your sleeping thread, way to go Isla! So good for you to be getting lots of good sleep, I bet you feel great :) Annabelle does 10 hours overnight every now and then, but she's usually up for a quick feed at 2:30 and then sleeps til morning.
How is William going BSK? He is soo big! Hope he's still settling well for you.
MoT, hope the rotten flu has finally left you guys alone!
AFM, things are great here now. Went back to my home town for a family friend's 21st & Father's Day. It was a 2 hour car trip and Belley didn't love it, so I sat in the back with her where she just sat staring and smiling at me til she fell asleep lol. The dinner was great though, started at 6. Annabelle has so many new fans! She was so quiet, had a feed and fell asleep at 7. All great, until the food came out at 8 and the ridiculous waiter decided to stand right next to the only pram in the whole frickin room and yell "Who had a chicken parmy?!" Could have hit the guy! Just as Annabelle was getting herself back to sleep another waiter did the same. After the third time she was well and truly awake so I complained to the restaraunt manager. Why would they think that's a good place to yell?
Last night we went back to antenatal class. Basically a show off baby session lol. We were there with another couple and their baby, and basically went through our different labour/birth experiences and what the first few weeks were like to give the couples there a bit of an idea. It was so strange to see them and remember being in their position not so long ago!
Ok, well this has gotten quite long enough I reckon! Had a lot to catch up on lol. Hope everyone's doing well :)

hey girls and bubbas
things have been busy here!!! Hudson and Tutty still have a bug, Hudson is very chesty with a cough :( Tutty luckly just has a cough
and we are frantically trying to find a rental as we sold our house so thats an added stress plus we gotta start packing!
Hudson is going through a cluster feeding upon wake up and bedtime which can be frustrating! but his starting to nap in the afternoon :D
he managed to roll over in his baby bath last night
our next weigh in his tuesday so looking forward to seeing his weight gain if its still low might need took into reflux medicine
KT- stupid idiot waiters!
-
Hello mummas!
bskilner - we also have to put bibs on Isla constantly, she's drooling SOOO much. Loves to blow bubbles and generally slobber everywhere! I commend anyone who does it on their own, whether it's for years, months or a few hours...it's hard any way! So good on you for the other night. I hope your DH doesn't get too many call outs like that? Isla is also a long bub, I'm short so I guess she'll be tall like DH. How cute are baths, I love all the splashing. Although I prefer showering with her but like you it's just too hard by yourself!
doubletrouble - Thankyou hun. Things are getting better and better! As for staying away from sugars, it's not working at the moment as AF is about to show up again I reckon, so I'm living on chocolate  Can't help it! I love hearing about your life in China, it must be so fascinating, although maybe a little frustrating...I read your other thread about BF and the fake formula :o I'm not sure what you can do with the feeding though, maybe try expressing just a little bit first so you already have letdown, so she doesn't have to wait for the milk to flow? I hope you can work something out!
Kaytee - Isla is like that too; looks more like me but expressions like DH. It's hilarious! I'm actually surprised my genes won out, as I'm very fair skinned and blue eyed, whereas DH is Greek...olive skin, brown eyes. Ugh, that waiter sounds like a knob (actually, all of them!), I've noticed childless people don't have much commonsense when it comes to babies. Aw how cool that you got to go back to your class as a 'graduate' haha!! Bet it made you feel like a pro ;) That's how I felt about the mums and dads who came in to show off their buns at my classes.
MOT - Isla is a little sick, has a blocked nose and it's awful, she gets so stressed. I hope sickness leaves your home soon.
AFM - Isla is a little sick. Her blocked nose just won't go away! But she is sleeping through the night so at least we're all able to be well rested.
She's started chewing on her fist and other things too, so I'm also wondering about teething...when does it start? She's in a wonder week ATM so a lot more fussy than normal, but I deal with them better and better each time. DH moved in with us, and things are actually really good. SUCH a long way to go to get my trust back, but I'm starting to fall in love with him again, he's really proving himself to me.
We started Isla in cloth nappies and I'm loving it!! Anyone else doing cloth? Also, Isla hasn't rolled or anything yet, don't know when they 'should' or when I should be concerned. We need to get an ultrasound for her hip because it's a bit out of sorts. She does bring her legs up though and lean a bit to one side...maybe that's the beginning?
Lots of love to you all!
-
PZ, we're doing cloth. I LOVED the prefolds for when she was smaller, but she grew out of them already lol. Using the MCNs now and very quickly found out which ones worked for us. So I'm stocking up on more Ittis & BBHs in the nappy hunt, plus some night & swim nappies. Hopefully then we'll be completely free of sposies!
Lol @ feeling like a pro :D It was funny when they asked questions, like one was "How do you know what she needs when she cries? If she's hungry or tired or what?" My answer was "I dunno, you just 'learn' her. What she needs and when, what her little signs are. She very quickly becomes her own little person!" Probably a crappy answer lol.
With the rolling, Annabelle has only done front to back so far. On her back she gets kind of on her side, but I think I said somewhere they usually roll that was at around 4-5 months?
MoT, poor little kidlets :( If Hudson hasn't gained that could be a factor. Also might be why he's cluster feeding more now, to up your supply and get a little more to make up for the reflux :dunno:
Hooray for selling your house! Hope you can find a rental quickly. We confirmed on Tuesday that we can afford a new place, so we're off to check out a house on Sunday, yay! Then we have to sell this one. I won't be sad to say goodbye to it! It's a very closed floorplan and I'm really not a fan.
-
I'm new here, my little man is now almost 2 and a half months and he's such a blessing! His big sister loves him too, she's always wanting to play with him and give him kisses. I feel very blessed with my two babies and DH.
-
Hello hello Agape welcome
Isnt it just the yummiest watching the kids interact with each other so lovingly
-
Welcome Agape!
Hudson now has what looks like a virus rash so hopefully he will start picking up soon!
accidently:redface: went to PP today and bought Tutty 2 new outfits not like she needs more clothes lol
Hudson is still having his loooooooong arvo sleep he actually had almost 5hrs yesterday only issue is he stays up late!
got the biggest compliment today sitting in a CAFE with Hudson and this lady came up all clucky and told me how gorgeous and little he is (which for 12 weeks he is a little small) and assked for a cuddle :D
Hudson doesnt roll over much KT he hates belly time!
KT- yay for house shopping :D we hate our house as well and with 3 young kids we just dont hae the money it needs now just waiting to hear about a rental so over waiting!!!
PZ- i hope things continue to improve with your DH (can i ask what happened without being rude and you can tell me to BUTT OUT)
hope miss ISLA nose clears soon xoxox
-
DT- i know i love watching the kids all talk together and Hudsons eyes following them around :D
Hudsons started talking away which he usually tries to do at bed time lol
-
Oh, virus rash, poor baby! Hope that clears up soon
Pz- how is Isla? I use an oil burner with tea tree or eucalyptis oil mixed with water when the kids get colds.
Yay for the baby compliments!
My DH is sooooo lucky there isn't any nice baby shops I have found here like PP or I'd have broke the budget
-
kaytee - yeh william is good, has 9 hours between feeds of a night then usually back to sleep until 9am. hes good at sleeping in the morning.
yes he is growing up a storm, already have him in 0 wondersuits, eek! Everyone says he looks like his dad though, but at the moment still has blue eyes like me, so hope they dont change lol.
how interesting going back to antenatal class post, must have been nice to share stories and hear others experiences. that answer sounds perfect to me.
I had a similar experience the other week with tradies in my house, yelling through the roof when i was trying to put ds to sleep, kept waking him up everytime he was drifting off, they just dont seem to care???
good luck with the house hunt and selling your place.
mot - yes the 12week growth spurt, wasnt fun here either, hopefully it passes soon though. along with those bugs. hope your littlies are feeling better soon. and congrats on rolling, william is trying to roll from his back to tummy not interested in other way around lol.
and good luck with looking for a rental and moving, added stress ahoy.
PZ - glad things are working out with your dh, you are a strong woman.
Im in cloth, was using terry toweling ones but have now purchased peapods, which have been great so far. even managed to contain poos that have been waiting for 2-3days, i was very impressed.
Wouldnt be worried about rolling as william is older and still hasnt done it, but has mastered getting on to his side, so would say it isnt too far away.
Agape - welcome, and congrats on the arrival of your little man.
AFM - william has started noticing other little kids, finds them very entertaining. not too interested in babies though as they dont do much lol.
He is getting more coordinated with his hands, grabbing at things etc and getting them in his mouth lol. The other day he was sucking his hand quite intently, and i walked over and pulled the hand away. there was a raised patch where he was sucking and he ended up with a hicky on his hand so have started putting mittens on him at night.
-
Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend :)
Welcome Agape! Sounds like you're very happy with your two little ones :)
Wow Bskilner, I can't believe William is in size 0 and moving out of his basinette! Some of Annabelle's 00 clothes are still too big on her, but she's suddenly had a growth spurt and fits most of them quite well now. I'm dreading when she now longer fits in the pram basinette :( I like having her sleep wherever I am. I've put her in her cot in her room a few times and it just feels weird! She'll stay in our room for a while yet though at night, we've got the port-a-cot in there.
Aww MoT, isn't it such a nice feeling when other people acknowledge how fantastic our bubs are? Lol. Hope you're getting closer to finding a new place! I had a laugh at the talking at bedtime thing. I reckon once Belley starts talking we won't be able to stop her, there's just constant chatter coming from her. The funniest thing the other night, I was sitting up in bed giving her a dreamfeed, and she started laughing!! A full on giggle in her sleep, still half latched on. It was the funniest thing I'd ever seen/heard, I had to try so hard not to laugh and wake her up. She must have been having a good dream!
PZ, hope Isla's feeling better soon
AFM, feeling great here :) Went to Rattle & Rhyme this morning and Belley was the most 'into it' she's ever been. Really awake and interacting with the other babies. She and this little girl next to us had a lovely gibberish conversation lol. Then went for a nice long walk so I'm feeling extra good about that. I got really lazy when Belley wasn't sleeping, I couldn't get time to exercise so now that she's more settled it feels great to be doing something to get fit again.
Oh, oh, I have to tell this hilarious story! Bit TMI though so beware. Belley's still on her once a week poo schedule, it's been every Monday for a few weeks now. Except for yesterday. DH was giving her a bath (he always does baths, it's great) and I was getting her towel and clothes ready. They were chatting away, then I heard "What's that in your bath Belley?... Hang on a sec, what is that? It's poo! Honey, there's poo in the bath! There's poo in the bath!" Geeze he was funny. So I brought a towel to wrap her in and asked him to clean out the bath and redo it. But her bath is moulded so she kind of sits against this raised bit. And the poo stuck to it! So I gave DH the cloth to clean it up with, and he's yelling "EW! EW!" the whole time lol. Then I heard "There's poo on my hand! There is POO! On my HAND! I've never had poo on my hand before!" Man I could not stop laughing! Also, turns out Belley wasn't finished. She did more in the towel I'd wrapped her in. So I got her a new one, and she weed in it. Just can't win!
Well that's enough from me, hope you're all doing well :)

KT
reminds me a little of when Tutty was a baby i finally convinced DH to change her bum and she farted and covered DH in it but i was no help cause i eneded up on the floor laughing!
-
Hi girls,
I have been a bit MIA lately. Reading but not really posting as I'm on my phone alot and it's harder to reply there.
Agape: welcome :welcome:
PZ hope Isla is going better.
KT  at your DH. Hamish did that once when he was in the bath with Noah. Noah didn't want to get out and I had to explain the whole poo in the bath thing to him.
We are going well here. Hamish had a bad night last night but :crossfingers: for a better night tonight. Off on holidays on Friday and going to a BB meetup tomorrow. Looking forward to it.
-
kaytee - sounds like belley had a great time though, my dh is the same, he keeps getting weed on and it freaks him out. I always say "it could be worse". lol
tara - hope it was just a once off, and that he sleeping better now.
william slept well in his cot in his room yesterday. i didnt even need to settle him, he settled himself to sleep. so hope that its got his seal of approval.
i think he is going through a spurt again, as he was up at midnight screaming, so i brought him into bed with me and then he was awake at 2.30am hungry, so he had a feed in the early hours which he hasnt done in a while. plus i havent had to express of a morning after the long stints of sleep. so he must be eating more.
-
heyya!
Hudson had a weigh yesterday and his now 4.7kg and 58cm long
his started sleeping in his bassinette which is great :D (not 100% through the night cause its easier to bring him into my bed when he wont re settle)
his also started going to bed HEAPS earlier he prefers to settle himself but sooking but its working!
-
Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing well and bubbas are all happy.
MoT, hooray for Hudson sleeping in his basinette! If anything at least when he's in there you can sleep in whatever position you like lol. I reckon that's the hardest thing about bedsharing - I do sleep well and so does Belley, but then my arms are hurting from being around her.
DT, thanks for that PM about the shoes, I was going to reply but haven't gotten around to it.
Tara, hope you enjoyed the BB meetup, and hooray for holidays! Hope you come back nice and refreshed and relaxed :)
That's great that William likes his cot Bskilner. Hope he's still been sleeping well for you.
AFM, well I'm in a bit of a mood. Sorry that this will be ranty and venty, feel free to skip it. I'm a bit grumpy at my Mum. She's just messaged me saying she's upset that Belley cried at her last night. Honestly, I can't blame her for crying. My Mum is over the top. Loud baby voice, extreme (scary) facial expressions, right in Belley's face. When we went to that 21st dinner the other weekend, when Belley woke up from the waiters yelling Mum decided it was a good time to take her and show her off. I thought it was a good idea as I'd get to eat dinner, and asked Mum to just keep her quiet and calm as we want her to go back to sleep. But Mum was being all loud and jigging her and getting everyone to play with her. She was crying within 5 minutes and I had to go get her.
So last night Mum & Dad came around for dinner. I'd explained our routine - 6pm bath, quiet time, lights out and feed to sleep at 7. So they got here at 5, Dad was saying hello to Annabelle and Mum says "get out the way, she wants to look at me because she laughs at me." She didn't, she got sooky. When it came to bath time Mum held her while I got stuff ready, and same thing - I asked her to keep it quiet and just cuddle. I was in the kitchen with the bath and suddenly Belley was crying. Like screaming crying, like when she'd had her needles. Mum had been doing her stupid baby voice, stupid expressions in her face and was jiggling her around on her knee like a puppet. DH asked her to keep it calm and quiet and that the jiggling would hurt her neck, but Mum didn't listen til the screaming. Then she got all upset that Annabelle doesn't like her. Well no bloody wonder!!
Then DD was up twice last night (yeah I know, twice is good and I'm lucky, but I'm used to waking once or not at all til morning) and the second time was due to wind. She was bringing her legs up and kicking them out trying to get the wind out and making a hell of a noise. So I spent about 15 minutes with my arm over in her cot rubbing her tummy. It helped, she was quiet and slept while I did it, but as soon as I stopped she'd get going again. In the end she woke up completely so I got her out, she had a feed and farted the whole time lol.
Then she was up at 6 and hasn't slept since. This kid just does not like to sleep during the day! Unless it's on me while she's feeding, that she can do. But if I move she wakes, and as soon as she's finished feeding she's awake and ready to go. I can't get a thing done, unless it's in the 20 minutes that she's happy in her play gym. After that I have to be with her playing or she'll get cranky.
Then I get on FB. Our Mother's Group has set up a page, and some of the stuff on there is so disappointing to read. I'm made to feel a bit like a hippy when we meet up. I've never commented or judged their parenting choices, but I get weird looks all the time. E.g. two girls are highly recommending Tizzy Hall. That's fine. I don't agree but I'm not going to tell someone not to use it. So they're all talking about it when one asked me what I thought. I said "Personally I don't agree with her ideas and routines, so we're not using it." Cue weird looks. One then says "I gave DD rice cereal yesterday. The book (SOS) says to start at 4 months and DD is 4 1/2 so I'm a bit late but oh well." This is even though last week we all watched a DVD about how a baby's gut doesn't close until closer to 6 months and watching for signs of readiness. So now all the others are off to buy rice cereal. I mentioned we'll do BLS. More weird looks. I'm the only one who has bub in our room. They don't understand why I wouldn't want to "teach her to go to sleep by herself in her own room." Then there are the extremely weird looks I get for being crazy enough to exclusively breastfeed (because it's good to give a bottle of formula to see how much they're having) and using cloth nappies (you have to wash them!!!).
It's getting seriously frustrating. I'm happy to just accept that we all parent differently, but I don't feel that I should be getting judged for doing things a different way to them. I've never said it's a better way, just said "Hey, this is what I'm doing" (seeing as they asked). There are girls who are similar to me in various matters, but mostly I'm just weird.
Oh well. I think it's just being tired getting to me and making me feel grumpy. Thanks for reading if you got this far!
Hope everyone else is doing much better.

first off WTF KT OMG screw your MGroup you are doing a fab job and your going with the flow belley is happy and loved
WTF bout formula!!!!! i would never give my children formula just to see, i know by my boobs how much DS2 is getting! i cant tell you in mls but i can show you by boob (sounds odd but you know how you feel your boobs to ensure they are full plus the hole in there head!!!! and DS1 was EBM and he used to average 240ml at this age and he ended up as a small bubba! so on formula he wouldve had less
plus the earliest i started DS1 one solids was 5.5months but it was if he wanted ya if not oh well tutty was almost 7m as she used to choke everytime
ive never heard of baby led but am looking forward to it after 6months until then boobie is all he needs
SCREW TIZZY HALL sorry she makes me angry because she seems to be brain washing first time mummys
WELLDONE on cloth nappies!!!
my children were DS1 7m DD6m and DS2 still going in our rooms! i like them being in my room!
(its funny i told my bestie i keep our kids until 6m in our room and shes oh ok well SOnSO is in there own room now at 2m and then the other day she turns to me as says oh do you knowits recommended they stay in your room until 6m and im like well yeah!)
(i apoligise if i offeneded anyone in my post to KT! i am not against FF i support all milk choices i just dont agree with the see how much they are taking! same as early feeding as i know some babies need solids earlier but thats the parents choice not they should be on solids at 4m!)
AAHHHHH to your mum not listening i used to bang my head against a wall with the whole SIDS arguements
