yes william likes to be bounced up and down too. i have started to pump, because the initial let down of my right side makes it flow too fast and my little man chokes and splutters. he ended up coming off and it was flowing like no tomorrow.

Hi to you both!
Amelie is doing great. 3 weeks today. She is sleeping so well, she usually wakes every 3-4 hours during the night. Going down at about 9-10pm. Some nights we have been so lucky that she has slept 6 hours. BF is going well, I had some emotional problems at the beginning as I had such a hard time with DS (sore nipples, sickly feeling whilst feeding) and I was terrified it would be the same. I fed DS for 4 months and was so happy when I stopped. I still get the sickly feeling, but nipples aren't cracked or so sore this time around.
Do any of you find that you are always being asked how you feed your baby? Breast or bottle? I'm finding everyone I talk to who have kids ask me this question!! But most of the time it's "you're not breastfeeding are you?" When I tell them yes they seem surprised! Maybe because these people didn't BF? I don't know. I actually get quite annoyed as it's really none of their business and I was so close to bottle feeding at the beginning I feel like if I was bottle feeding I would feel like the worst mother in the world having to answer that question (not that I'm against that at all!!) and then maybe having to explain why. I hate the focus on how your baby is fed - it really shouldn't be an issue, as long as the baby IS being fed. If you know what I mean?
I hope you are both doing well!!
Yep Ive started to express as well, also so my hubby can give Chase 1 of his feeds as well and to build up a bit of a supply in the freezer for down the track.
Kaydee- Sounds like u r going great! How old is ur DS? I get asked the feeding question all the time as well! None of their business really. I thought ppl would be all for breastfeeding but Im surprised how many ppl went with bottles instead. Personal choice I guess.
Do either of u have a routine that you are going to follow or letting bubs work out their own? I'm such an organiser and person that always has my set routine, haha. Bit difficult with a newborn. A few friends are the same as me and are surprised I havent started him on a set feeding and sleeping routine yet. I still think he is too young and small to start any routine yet. Any thoughts would be great!
Hope u both have a great weekend![]()
I was thinking about this the other day, but I'm finding amelie is slowly slipping into her own routine. It would be nice if I could influence this as I like routine also. I do think they are too young now to have set times, maybe in a couple of weeks?
As for expressing, I feel like I only have enough milk for the baby and not enough left over to express! I suppose the more I try, the more milk I'll produce.
Emzi, my DS is 5. It's going great with 2 kids, but I do have to watch when DS is around her, I'm still not sure if i can trust them alone. I've caught him holding her nose shut a couple of times (!) when I asked him why he did it he just says she was going to start crying and he wanted to stop her. Hmmm. In general he is great with her. He even loves having a cuddle before bed, telling her about his day and reading a book together. He even asked us if we could "make" another one, so he can have 2 sisters. lol.
kaydee - i still have sore bb, especially if william is being silly and wont attach properly, it especially frustrating at 9pm. my right was cracked from early on and is still trying to heal. congrats on giving it a second go after having trouble your first time around. just ignore others opinions, everyone has their own ideas of whats best.
i think breast is best but if you cant do it, it is better the child has a mother who is calm feeding them than one who is struggling with bf.
emzi - no routine here, figure he is still basically a newborn. maybe after 6 weeks i will start to try a routine, and get him to sleep in bassinette.
i have now expressed twice to try to lower the pressure, otherwise it chokes him. so will probably do it once a day, in the morning. and slowly get a freezer stock so if i am really tired dh can feed him and i can rest.
afm - so nervous about next week, will be all on my own as dh goes back to work. will see how sleep goes.
Don't think about it too much! I actually have a theory that when I'm really nervous about something it all goes well, but when I'm not, something goes wrong! I'm sure you'll be just fine. I am also really nervous, my Dh is already back at work but he travels a lot for his job and will be going to China in a couple of weeks (we live in Germany) for over a week. It will be my first time really alone with 2 kids. We have no family around to help out. All my family are in Australia and the inlaws live 500kms away! I might have to ask a couple of friends to keep me company every now and again so I don't go crazy!!
thats what i have done, busied myself with friends. my mother is unwell and cant drive, and both of my inlaws have passed away. and we only moved to kilmore 2 years ago and i dont know many people. looking forward to joining the local mothers group.
