Thanks ladies. We had a goodish night last night and she was great today until about an hour and a half ago. We went off to the Dr today and it looks like I have ductal thrush without any outward symptoms such as rash etc, it's all internal. It doesn't appear to be in DDs mouth yet but the rash is on her little bottom. We both started treatment this afternoon so hopefully that helps. I've also got antibiotics to take if my pain doesn't ease in the next few days, in case it's another bug of some kind & she sent some of my milk off to be tested. Hopefully this makes a difference for DD too.

I've noticed today that shes screaming before using her bowels so I think that's where her wind is trapping. Once she uses her bowel 3 or 4 times in quick succession she calms down a bit.

    Lulu - enjoy Dora!

McHope - good idea on the day care and well done on the great overnight!

    Babies Born ~ June 2012 #1

Geeky - my my DD2 has oral thrush, and Inhave ductl thrush - started on daktarin and she's on nilstat as of Thursday night. Another joy of breastfeeding! Hope yours/bubs symptoms settle very soon xx

Lulu - we went to Dora too, my DD loved it but I wish they hadn't had an interval to drag it out longer than it needed to be
Also very much agree with worrying about things that might happen later with things like dummies if they help bubs get through the tough part of being a newborn.

Bubba - have had a few friends do family daycare, they loved the flexibility. Sorry don't know anything about becoming registered though.

Better go back to sleep! Bubs is still very good, is windy tonight but it doesn't upset her, it's still early so we could be starting wind issues, but I don't have to burp her at all, she just burps and farts away on her own which makes looking after her very easy, I say quietly to avoid jinxing myself!

Geeky: what were your symptoms for the ductal thrush. Ive always been scared I'll get it (and add it to my list of issues lol) hope the meds kick in soon and give you some relief.

Dory: baby triathlon! Go you! Sounds intense, what does it involve?

Sunshine: good to hear your baby is a natural wind reliever! We have to make sure dd burps otherwise she brings up milk. I'm finding she also seems to do her main bowel movement in the morning, although some days she goes all day lol.

AFM: I have been trying to get dd to come off the nipple shields but it's not working. As in she sucks on my breast but she is so much more unsettled an starting to damage me again. No matter how well I attach her it doesn't seem to work. The LC I saw last week mentioned her palette is a bubble/channel palette which makes it harder.

She's starting to talk and smile a lot now. Little chatter box! She has put on a kilo since birth now and grown 5cm! At least I know she's getting milk despite all the hiccups!

She has just started her second wonder week...ek! We were getting a 5 hour stretch at night, but it's dropped back to 3 hours. It's so cruel when it goes back!!!

Also she will get her 8 week immunisations next week. Might see if dh can go in with her because I'll be a mess poor baby.

Sorry for everyone on the last page ive missed. On the phone so it's hard to check.

Flat day here....up every 90 mins last night. Hoping for better tonight.

Sunshine.....glad at least wind hasn't been a problem yet and hopefully not ever.

Sorry not many persies, it's hard on my ph.

Can't believe they did that!! Still, my big girls loved it and Miss A enjyed the light and colour of the first half and slept through the second so not too bad. We got home so late though

    Hey mamas!

On my phone so forgive my lack of persies. Easier to update on the FB page. For those of you who want to join the private FB group get in contact with Dantri.

Had an unsettled week but the weekend L has improved. He's sleeping great stretches at night with hardly any settling but day time sleeps are short and takes up to an hour to settle him. I think I'm missing his tired signs because of DS1 taking my attention as well so L becomes overtired and over stimulated and harder to settle back down. Making sure I catch his tired signs earlier now and get DS1 distracted with TV/Food while I settle L in his room. It works for the most part although DS1 likes to know where I am and comes looking for me. L slept from 7pm-3:30am last night so we got 6.5hra straight sleep. Feeling awesome today!

L also has gunky eyes. Blocked tear ducts. I've been cleaning them with warm salt water, then squirting EBM in his eye and massaging near his nose under his eyes. Seems to be working. They're slowly clearing up. Also using chlorsig eye drops recommended by the Dr but I think the EBM is more soothing in his eyes.

Take care mamas!! Hope you're enjoying your beautiful babies!! Can't believe we'll be hitting 6 weeks on Tuesday!!

    Hi Ladies,

Ok I am on the PC for once so I will attempt some persies while DH has DS.

Sunshine - I think my little one must be broken lol, he never closes his mouth when he has had enough milkies, he just lets the bottle sit there in his mouth and he sucks on it like a dummy, until Mummy gets smart and realises hehe.

How is your little one doing now after the hospital visit? You sound so content talking about how your family is complete. I know mine is still not complete, it's like I can't even contemplate the thought of not having another one. I am already planning about how I can increase my chances of a VBAC lol.

Geeky - Oh hun I could have written that post a few weeks ago, you have every ounce of sympathy I can muster. This is exactly when we gave in and gave DS the dummy. To be honest it is a blessing. As much as I was against them and get so frustrated replacing them when they fall out. I have given in and we have a much happier baby - my advise if you do get one is get a cherry shapped one (looks like a big ball at the rubber bit) as they are apparently the dentist preferred shape and they fall out much less.

mchope - What a wonderful idea the family daycare is. I have no knowledge that could help but I hope its not too hard for you to do. I know what you mean about not wanting to put them into daycare, I dread having to go back to work for that very reason, and it looks like I will be back in December.

Dory - I am highly impressed with thriathalon, have you done them before? I am hoping to be able to get back to doing some dancing (ballroom) and possibly even teaching it again.

Little O You poor thing, you really have coped well with the miriad of BF issues that have been thrown at you. Is there a reason you need to come off the sheilds or just preference? I found them such a pain in the backside but my nipple nowhere even close to filled it so it felt very unnatural. The immunisations weren't that bad I found (or maybe I am just heartless lol) DS only cried for a few seconds and then went straight to sleep after. I just didn't look while they did them and held him really tight.

BR - Sounds exactly like my DS on his day sleeping. I am trying so hard to put him down at his first tired signs but then it seems like he only feeds and sleeps.

Hi to everyone I have missed

AFM - Well DS has been off since Friday after he had his immunisations on Thursday. I think he has had a touch of gastro and some issues with a different formula we tried. Back to the original formula now and he has improved somewhat today but he is still really unsettled and his poos are quite fluid compared to normal. Sleeping great - we even got an 8 hr stretch out of him last night. Oh and I have the wonderful knowledge I have taught him to poke his tongue out

Hi all - been MIA yet again.....

Who is Dantri? im able to get on FB more often then BB...
I do read and am gaining valuable tips/support and advice from you all without actually posting lol, so thankyou!

Way to many posts to catch up on.....
Dummy: ive had major parenting doubting going on about this, midwife in hossy said NOT to use a dummy within the first 6wks of bf(post birth) as it will disrupt their feeding/latching, for the first time in 3 babies i doubted myself, i tried the dummy after a couple of attempts she took it, felt guilty as all buggery and it was DH who held and gave it to her, so i thought maybe that was the case, so next time i tried it, she took it and i felt ok about it, then the doubting came into play next time i tried (this is over a 3-4day period) as she wasnt feeding properly after i gave it to her.......im ok about it now, but still get the guilts big time when i use it, i only use it when she is constantly on my boobs NOT feeding and they start to hurt (im talking like once a day sometimes more its like every 10min she wants them to go to sleep etc), i try hard not to get the guilts, yet i do and sometimes i will just give her the boob so i dont get the guilts but my boobs are sooooo sore after, not sore if she feeding, any way blaaaaaa sorry for that rant....

body - im "happy" with my body as im fitting into alot of my pre pg clothes, i have the hang over (damn having 3 kids, the first two tore my stomach muscles {5finger seperation}, little miss didnt) and i dont like it, but i feel overall happy, ive still got a belly to lose but happy with what i look like at 3 1/2 wks post birth

Wind - having wind issues here too, one day one thing works and doesnt the next day etc, so i just play it by ear and do what i can when i can, hoping she grows out of it soon.

sorry thats all i can remember was talked about for now....
Little Miss is stirring so i better go get my boobies ready lol

How good is that! Did he not pass the one in hospital?
What a relief for you guys!

Oh and was it you who asked about the shields with me? It is a personal preference thing, but I think my preference now is shields so no more damage. Although it may be too late, I think I may have gotten mastitis AGAIN from the damage. My breast is SO tender...hoping I can nip it in the bud
