TMI Warning....
Missawah, it sounds like you might have a hemorrhoid? (spg?) Can happen as a result of the pushing stage, or from constipation/straining in the weeks after giving birth. Or some people are just unlucky enough to just get them. I couldn't believe that I didn't have any 'injuries' from my birth, but within 2 weeks had a really annoying hemorrhoid (sorry I did warn you all about tmi) A good friend of mine who is regular sufferer sent me to the chemist and I got some cream that helped immensely. I also took metamucil daily to keep up the fibre. Might not be what's wrong in your case, but could well be? Good luck, it's awful
b, I've found the book really helpful because it's a really relaxed approach, and she gives you guidelines and suggestions but you really have to put together what works best for your own situation. She refers to co-sleepers alot too and if I remember correctly you cosleep with DS don't you?
Welcome Berry too - sorry I forgot to say hi and welcome to the group
Nat I hope you're feeling better down there really soon....nothing worse really is there!
Missawah, i agree with hb, it sounds like haemorroids. I was fine throughout my whole preg and two weeks after coming home (TMI) i got a haemorroid! they hurt like hell but i found out that nappyrash creams like bepanthen and amolin are just as good as the chemist treatments as they have a lot of the same ingredients, so a dab of that every so often, especially before going to the loo, can be great. Also get some metamucil, like HB said, it will help a lot. Mines pretty much gone as i dont think it was big, but if it feels puffy and swollen in that area, thats probably the culprit. Hugs
Nat, sorry to hear about your hoohar, as if they havent been through enough lately! hope you come good soon
I havent really been doing any sleep routines with Adrian as he keeps changing on me but i think i might start soon, i really want to read stories to him but he never stays still in my lap for long enough Whats this rash everyone is talking about? I noticed some little red spots on Adrians chest today but though maybe he was just red from the warm bath, is it this rash?
Jellymaker - I have only just found a way to be able to read stories, without Tiah ignoring me or crying. I put her on her activity mat and let her do her own thing for a few minutes and then start reading the story.... she seems to be happy to listen and interact with me then... bu if I try and hold her she flips out!
Berry - Welcome!!!
Nat - Hope you are feeling better after your antibiotics... I am feeling more normal after finishing mine for the retained products... it is amazing how quickly everything gets better once the medication kicks in.
B - How is the personal training going? I am hoping to get my butt into gear this week.... I am eating WAY to much sweet things...
Con - Tiah wont sleep for more than about 30 mins during the day unless I am holding her. I finally convinced DP that I NEEDED a HugABub for my sanity so that should be arriving next week. She is sleeping for at least 6-7 hour blocks at night atm though, so I am like you... not complaining too much!
We got Tiah's results from her blood tests - all clear! I knew it would be ok, she just has very.... expressive... eyes
Tiah and I both have colds atm, it is making life interesting. She is wanting to feed way more often because when she does feed it is hard for her to breath and so she stops before she is satisfied because she is exhausted... so we are on about every 1.5 hours with lots of cuddles. I have this purple fluffy dressing gown that I was wearing at night, and figured a couple of days ago that when I wear that she calms down almost instantly! My sister is teasing me saying Tiah thinks her mum is Barney DP cant seem to settle her atm, so he has told me he may have to wear "Barney" if I am not home!!!!
I am getting a lot of hassle from family and friends atm because I havent left Tiah with anyone for more than about 30 mins. She settles for me prettty much straight away and others are finding it harder to settle her and keep telling me I have to fix that? My mum told me I need to be stronger and let people try to settle Tiah if they are holding her, but I DO leave them as long as I can! I cant see how leaving her crying for ten minutes when I could settle her faster is at all good for her??!?!?! I am just not ready to leave her for very long.... am I the only one? PLEASE tell me someone else feels like this and I am not some crazy, clingy mother already!
b - r u going to get anymore? i have 26 all up (2 i cant use which is a different brand but leaks all the time, thinking of using the pea pods bamboo in there), 2 CT and 22 pea pods. i am finding that washing every 2 days just gets me thru most of the time. r u washing every day then or r u still using disposables at night or in between?
Teresa & ~b~- Yay for the cloth nappies! I too am a cloth nappy lady! I have a whole box of them... I have found that each of the brands have there own advantages and disadvantages. I have a mixture of pea pods, cushie tushie, bubble bub, touchin' cloth, baby beehinds and a few homemade ones from someone. I find them really awesome for day time, although i do still use disposable for night as they seem to be more comfy for long periods of sleep. ~b~, what is the name of your friends website?
I'm really at my wits end at the moment I was trying to get Angus to sleep and each time I put him down he would wake up and start crying.. 2 hours later I rang DH to see where he was (he'd gone to the gym and run some errands) and he joked that he had decided to go out tonight. I knew it was a joke, but I hung up on him! DH managed to put him to sleep when he got home and I got to cook dinner (I was very hungry!)
Well we picked up our new car today!! Very exciting - although we still have to put the baby seat and everything in there.
All this talk about weight loss - I put on 20kg!!! I still have 8.5kg to go to get back to my original weight and I think it is all in my thighs and bum. I guess I should do more walking....
Anyway, dinner's ready so I better go finish the salad (actually a packaged salad)
Hi Nat, congrat's on the new car, I hope you enjoyd your dinner. Just wanted to say that my son was very settled at about 6-weeks, they say baby's have a growth spurt around this time, so maybe that is what is going on with Angus. Hopefully it won't last long. My DS in now 9-weeks and the last 2-wks have got much easier, hopefully it does for you also.
b - we are using pea pods and cushie tushies at the moment. i have a couple of others coming from baby beehinds this week which i cant wait for! pea pods are pockets but cushie tushies are aio. pea pods are ok. took awhile to fit him properly and only getting leaks every now and then. not my fave but they are doing the trick! also have the same problem with the CT ones too. i am hoping the baby beehinds will be better. i ordered a nappy that will last him from newborn to toddler. if they work well then will buy some more. i also ordered their bamboo fitted. u need a PUL cover with them but i have heard great things. would love to look at your friends website.
