Becc- I have just been through this with Grace. The midwife said it was prob a growth spurt. I started b/f her a little more often during the day to increase my milk supply and fed her two times before bed to try to make sure she had a full belly. She has returned to her usual 8pm to 6am now. Matilda is only a day younger than Grace, so i wouldn't be suprised if it is a growth spurt! It should only last a week or so if it is.
Yep Harri went through the same thing and was waking up. I am certain it was a growth spurt for him as he's just shot up taller. Had 4 month needles today and Harri was quite brave but still warranted big big cuddles. Harri's teeth have gone back down >_< so still no teeth (kinda glad though he'll have that gummy smile a while longer). We tried Harri on solids but he really really doesn't like it. I spoke to the nurse and doctor today and they don't think he's quite ready, so instead I'm increasing his bottles to 250mls (which is what the tin recommends anyway) although he's only have 250mls first thing in the morning and before bed, during the day he just has 200mls and won't take anymore.

I survived the toy sale this morning, but was in and out really quickly as I only had a few select things to layby, and I bought a jumperoo. DD loves it (wasn't patient enough to layby it!) but I do have to put a big thick photo album under her feet so she can touch her toes on it. I'll make sure she's not in it for too long periods until she's a bit older but she was just beaming in it this afternoon and bouncing up a storm! I've realised toy sales are almost like a full contact sport
We had some professional shots done of DD today too - I won a free sitting and credit from entering a comp at our local garden/pet store. Some beautiful shots but I could only justify actually buying one, so all up with the freebies I will have 3 nice photos. She was really chucky through the session and I think the photographer was getting a bit ticked off ha ha Welcome to baby land love!
And this afternoon was our Health Nurse check up, 6.32kg and 64cm long, all good. She spoke to me about solids but we're aiming to wait til 6months, and I've been reading up on baby led solids and it really appeals to us, but I can understand it's not for everyone. We'll see how we go when the time comes.

Well we went to the Target sale yesterday and bought one of those jumparoo's. I didn't really think about the practicality of going shopping on my own and trying to carry it. So in the end I had to ask a lady standing nearby to hold Angus while I put the box in the pram and then carefully navigate the pram through the crowd and aisles to the checkout. I got the lady to look after it while I went to the car and got the baby carrier so that I could use a trolley.
It's funny how we meet people now. I met this woman in the parents room while we were feeding our babies and you tend to talk about quite intimate stuff! Then another woman smiled at me when I was going in to Target (and she was coming out) because we realised we had the same pram in the same colour. And have you noticed how everyone who walks past tries to look in your pram? I usually have the hood down because I don't want Angus to get too overstimulated with the lights, especially if he is tired or trying to sleep.
Oh and I don't want to speak too soon, but for the last 3 nights we have had a really good routine with Angus. I feed Angus around 5:30 - 6 and then DH comes home from work and gives him a bath, massage, reads him a story and puts him into his bassinet and then we put the music from the baby monitor on. Sometimes he cries for less than 5 minutes - but he's been going to sleep on his own During the day, I've been wrapping him and putting him in his hammock with some music on and the majority of the time he has been getting himself to sleep, but a few times I have had to bounce him for a while.
To those with a jumparoo - Angus loves it, but the stalk that the dragonfly sits on is floppy, but in the pictures on the box and manual it stands up. Is it meant to be floppy - ours is made from soft rubber???
Human bean - That's good that you got a few pictures. We went to one of those places in the middle of the shopping mall when Angus was 5 weeks. They did a package for around $500, but not that many of the pictures were nice, so we only got two. We went really overboard with the pregnancy shots and spent $5000!! I feel a bit sick in the stomach every time I look at them

Becc - like I said above, Angus has been so much better with bedtime since we got serious about the routine. I looked up Save our Sleep by Tizze Hall and I think I got enough info on the Internet without buying it. I'm just making sure he gets enough sleep during the day, but not letting him sleep much after 5. It's all trial and error hey, but it is definately more stressful when you are trying to move and then settle into your new home. We had my Mum here and if she wasn't here to get Angus to sleep at night I'm not sure what I would have done ???
Beata - you really should look into doing something out of the house - even if it is just to keep your santity. I found that Angus really enjoyed watching the other babies. In fact, when we were doing exercises where we were supposed to be giving eye contact - Angus was too busy watching everyone else. I am going to find a playgroup in my local area. Call 1800 171 882 and tell them where you live and the age of your baby and they tell you the playgroups in your area with children around the same ages. You then have to call and find out there routines etc.
Anyway, he's starting to wake up, so I better get going
Glad all the ladies out there got what they wanted at the sales. I wasnt really interested in buying any toys cos i figure Adrian will get butt loads of toys from family at christmas, like he did at the babyshower. Right now he is happy with the few teddys and rattles he has and a second hand jolly jumper a friend gave us. I think i will hold off the crazy spending for later in his life when he can remember and say 'thanks mummy'
Took Adrian to get his 4 month shots today, was very good, cried for 2 seconds and then i had him giggling like crazy, he has a memory like a goldfish. He is now nearly 70cm long and just under 8kg!!!! Little fatty! I love his chubby little thighs! He is going to be one big healthy boy and the nurse said he was the healthist, happiest baby shes seen in a long time. The nurse said we can now also turn his car seat around to face the front, Yay!
Pretty sure Adrian has an eye tooth coming in as he has a little hard lump on the roof of his gums and chews his fists on that side like crazy, guess we'll wait and see.
We had a few solid feed test runs this week with some farex and once with some pureed pumpkin. He seems to really like it but i think we will hold off proper solid feeding until he is 6 months, he seems satisfied with his bottles so no use rushing into solids when he is still happy with milk. Ive almost completely stopped BFing, i know the books say to drop a feed once a week but ive basically stopped BFing in just over a week! He just stopped feeding during the day and my milk went wayyy down. I was worried i was going to get mastitis but my boobs feel fine, not even sore anymore. Feel a bit guilty and sad and i think maybe i should have tried harder to get him to keep feeding but, i guess its too late now. I have heaps more room in my underwear draw as i have shelved all my feeding bras until baby #2, plus i have a friends fancy dress housewarming coming up so guess what i'll be doing.....Drinking!!!!!
