lou - oh no maybe put her on the grass tomorrow with no nappy on while we're at the park lol
Lol good idea! I even put a brand new pretty mcn on her and still nothing! That always gets a giant sh*t lol
I don't know Lou J was doing same thing now he guzzles food
Geezo Wyatt is still such a baby baby, I can't even imagine giving him real food. I still don't even know how I want to go about it. BLS does appeal to me in some ways but every person at clinic and the baby nutritionist that came to mothers group say they don't recommend it.
They say 2 teaspoons at a time from 6 months. I'm sure once the time comes instincts will kick in and we will figure it out!
So.... Where are everyone bubs sleeping?
Wyatt is just about too tall for his basinette and I'm not ready to put him out of our room. We are picking up a Portacot tomoz so might use that. I would co sleep but I'm so paranoid about killing him! Plus when Stephen is home and W would have to sleep on the outside I'd have to hold him but all my bones ache so I toss and turn all night :( it kills me to lay still for the couple of hours we do co-sleep in the morning.
2 teaspoons hahahaha who are they kidding..... Or am I over feeding my kid lol
Bottles just weren't filling him up. The mchn told me yesterday that was a good time to start cause they get more nutrition from food than just formula. He has veg and then some fruit after if still hungry.
Dunno, I spose you'd notice if they weren't fitting it in. Is he showing interest in the food till it's finished? I don't imagine your force feeding him ;)
kylz - i'm sure j would let you know if he was full
jaki - i still have jack co-sleeping with me at night but am gradually putting him in his cot during the day when i'm home
afm - well ummm i think i have a teething baby....there is a nice lil lump on his bottom gum and he loved having one of his cold teething toys and is unsettled, so will need to get some bonjela tomorrow. It's way too early for this he's only 15 weeks :(
Kylz, you wouldnt be overfeeding him, they chuck up what they dont need, and if he wasnt hungry he wouldnt take it!
Jaki, Allyssa only slept in her bassinett for a week. she sleeps with me at night, during the day she is either in the sling, pram, rocker, couch or a blankiee on the floor! depending were we are, what im doing and more importantly who else is arround being a pest! (usualy Krystal or the dog!:)
i dont think im going to go out with her dressed "nutral" anymore all these old people were telling my how cute my baby boy looked :(
H man has been sleeping in his cot in our room for months now - he grew out of his bassinett at less than 2 months!
Bella slept in our room till she was 1.5 and H man will be sleeping in there till we build a new house coz we font have enough room in this one!
jaki: Chase is still in his bassinet :) don't know what i would do if I didn't hear his grunting at night LOL He still fits in there though so Im gonna let him stay there, see if he can fit in there all winter before I kick him out.
Chase would have a fit if I only gave him two teaspoons lol
sarah: i have people always ask me if Chase is a boy or a girl so I must dress him to look androgenous hahaha There's no way A looks like a boy, just had to look up photos of her on fb (we weren't friends so i sent a request but could see some on your profile :))
iona: aargh Jack slow down lol teething already sheesh.
lou: I always said I wasn't going to start until maybe 5 1/2 months with solids and just rice cereal but one day Chase was watching me eating breakfast and then copying me then he got frustrated and starting whining so I jokingly put my toast towards his mouth and he got excited and tried to eat it. I thought he was having a laugh so I was like, ok lets see how excited you really are about eating and made up the tiniest bit of rice cereal, like not even a tablespoon of water and a tiny bit of cereal. And he ate it....and then he wanted more... the bad news is no more multpiple days without poo, now he does a couple of nuggets a day LOL betcha Chloe is going to have a nice one tomorrow :)
Kylz: you can't overfeed, J will just refuse it when he doesn't want anymore. I know Chase is over it when I put it in his mouth and then he uses his tongue to just push it all back out. And when he hasn't had enough he tells me cos when I put the bowl down on the table and say all done he starts to cry LOL
kate: H man is such a little tank :) Wish we could put all the kiddies side by side and see how diff they all are.
Chase bit me yesterday when I was feeding him, not once, not twice but thrice. I thought maybe he didn't like the side or it was out of milk so I swapped him to the other side and the little so and so bit me again. So i evicted him from the boob and served him his pear, rice cereal and water and he was so happy with himself he fell asleep. I thought that was the end of the biting saga. Then this afternoon he starts biting me again, really clamping down on my nipple. Why Chase why!! It hurts me so bad. Is there a reason he has decided that biting my nipple is fun??? Anyone?
Kylz - Tank! I like it! :)
I'm not sure kitty, teeth? Do they do that when teething?
Thanks for your replies all. 2 more questions....
Basinette... How close can their heads be to the top before it's a SIDS risk?
Co-sleepers... What's your co sleeping set up? ie- Bub in middle or edge? Do you hold Bub or leave them free? What do you dress them in? Wrapped? Do you share blanket or have them uncovered?
Jaki - I have jack in an fleecy onesie. He is normally in the middle and it depends on what way I'm sleeping if i'm cuddling him and he goes under our doona
Kitty - I'm not sure about the chomping hopefully he stops for u. How did dh go with the job??
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kitty, my guess is he's chomping because he's starting to get used to the solids and how his mouth has to move to get those down rather than how it moves while having milk? Just a guess though :)
Amelia doesn't have a set spot in the bed - if I'm feeding her on the left, she's on the outside edge of the bed, if I'm feeding on the right she's in the middle. I do tend to cuddle her as we sleep, but sometimes one or both of us don't like that so we'll have a little distance between us...
Sent from my iPhone so forgive the speelung misstacks ;)
See I just worry cause I'd have to put him below our pillows, but cause it's winter we have the doona tucked up under our chins so he would literally be under the doona, like all of him!
Teni are you's off the shield now? I could never use that thing laying down!
jaki - i have jack on my pillow - it helped with his silent reflux and so much easier to cuddle him
I never used shields - I think you're thinking of someone else :) I did consider using them when it was so painful at the start, but never actually did it. I can't remember if I said anything or not...
Jaki, i have A sleeping on the side, I use to have her head sort of on my arm/shoulder, cuddling her, but the last few nights ive given her her own space on the side and slept a little away from her, since doing that she has not woken during the night.
With blankets, as she is on the side, i put them over me then fold them under so they come to over her chest and not her face. I also have my pillow on a angle so it is away from her head. positive im doing it wrong, but it works for us
I think i need to reset my baby, it is 11 and... SHE IS STILL ASLEEP!! i had to wake her up this time yesterday so we could do the daycare run! That is 11 hrs straight.
I swaped her bottles over to the larger ones, so she is having 180/240ml in one hit instead of 2x12ml /10 mins apart. I dont have a problem with her sleeping so much, Its the staying up untill midnight playing!!
How do you Ladies feel about babies and tv?
Allyssa loves it, if it is on she will twist and squirm in your arms untill its in her vision and then its a stare off.. She was upset yesterday arvo did not want a bottle, did not want the floor, didnt need a change or burp, I put her on her rug, she stoped crying after a few mins. when I went back to the loungeroom, she had squirmed off her rug, onto the cold floor :) (shes never moved so far on her own!) but was all happy as she could see the tv! :o
