Robert's been snuffly in the mornings too. We gave up on the drops I found the spray worked better and I didn't use the aspirator (that just made him scream). I bought some vicks baby balsam today. I haven't used it on his skin (because its from 3 months) but I'm going to put some on the sheets up near his head so he can smell it. It's actually quite a nice smell. It has essential oils, lavender and rosemary. The kids are finally starting to get better. Toby is still really snuffly in the mornings and struggles to breathe through his nose which really ****es him off, so I've been using the saline drops and the aspirator. He HATES it but I've got the hang of it now and after a few seconds of discomfort he can breathe so much better. I will be so pleased to get everyone well again.
We give Robert a bath (or shower) every evening as a part of his bedtime routine. It's bath, feed, swaddle, bed. We are finding that he self-settles. Tonight I didn't think he would because when I put him in bed he was all wide-eyed but I haven't heard a peep out of him since 645 and it's just about 930 now (hope I haven't jinxed myself!)How often are you all bathing the babies? We have been doing every second/third day with bum washes in between but I'm thinking of making it every day purely to help with the evening routine. It works for us to bath the kids together and them put them to bed. DD loves having Toby in with her and he really enjoys it too and comes out totally chillaxed
The CHN asked me about this and I quite honestly couldn't answer (am I a bad mum???). I usually rotate which end I put Robert in the cot as a rule because he seems to prefer to face out of the cot across the room.He told me not to worry about her head as most children tend to favour one side (anyone else noticed this with their bubs??) but I am still going to the osteopath just to be sure.
DH tried Robert with the bottle and he took it but wasn't overly keen. I think it was mainly because I was in the room. I would love it if he did take to it to give me a longer sleep, but to be honest I think I would be awake anyway so I can't see the point.Bree - We tried DD on a bottle when she was only a couple of weeks old and she took it easily. We then made the mistake of thinking she would take it anytime and didn't try again for a few weeks but which time she flatly refused.
Well on that note, I'm going to go and snuggle up on the couch with my lovely husband - he just made me a hot milo.![]()
