Just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone. I always seem to be on my phone & it's so tough to do personals!

We're going ok here. Keeley is fairly cruisy so far - im half holding my breath though waiting for her to 'wake up' lol. DS has settled down & is back to his normal self - challenging but not throwing the horrible tantrums he did in the first week!

I promise to get on the computer in the next cpl of days so i can do personals!

Hi guys,
Boogies- I have a little snot getter which I think is called "fess little noses" and u pinch the bulb bit when gently putting in it the nose and when u let go it sucks, sucking the boogies out. I've been surprised at the sizeof the boogies that has gone out of R's nose. I used it each child and found it good.

Skye- sorry to hear dd2 is mucking up, I really know how you feel ATM. Ds2 has been such a naughty Boy the last few days I am at my wits end with him. I spent half of Monday in tears because I am sick of going mad on him, of him not listening and I just sound like a cranky horrible mum dh went to work monday so it was my first day with all 3 all day and geez it was challenging ( didn't help I was trying to ice a cake all day long) and I am sick of threatening to not go places etc when it's not really true. Example i threatened we wouldn't go to swimming on Monday but I couldn't physically leave him home alone could I!!
I don't know what to say to you other than I hope like ds2 it's a phase. I need to make an effort to Give him some one on one time I think, and he will get more of it when school goes back, as 2 days a week I will have ds2 and ds3 so when ryker is asleep I can devote more time to just him.

Ds1 birthday yesterday was a great day. We took him bowling with his cousins and 2 school friends ( and their siblings) so 11 kids in total. Then they came back to our house for cake, presents and a play. Our parents also came over. I too hardly saw ryker as the aunties and nan us Ll shared the cuddles. Dh has to work again today but not stressful cake making s hoping to have a cruzy day a home and big boys are more occupied with all the new toys!

On a happy note, fed ryker a 730pm, he didn't really settle after so fed again at 9pm, and he went until 3am!!! Settled straight after and is just waking again now at 645am.

Sloane nice to hear from you, keely sounds like she is ver placid and going along really well

I am still bleeding pretty light now hoping it stops soon. Sarah it sucks when it stops and gives u false hope! I got af back at aout 3-4 months with ds2, you think it's good not getting a period for 9 months but then when u bleed for 4-6 wks after it its kinda like making up for eachof those months that were missed.....

I meant to also say, when we went to bowling yesterday our gp is across the road so I made an appointment and took ryker to get his face checked. He confirmed it is a hormone rash and to use a little Hydrozole for a few days only. I have been lathering his face up with paw paw ointment aswell. I also gave him a Bath with putting in a stocking some rolled oats in it, all he milky ness comes out of it, really natural and I tink it helped too, but I have to ring the photographer and cancel our session on Friday because I don't think it will be cleared up enough by then.

Sloane, I so hear you on the 'holding your breath while you wait for them to wake up'. I'm doing the same here. When I was pregnant I was sure that I was going to have an unsettled bub who never slept, but so far Cooper has been incredibly easy going. I keep waiting for it all to change... Glad to hear things are going so well for you and that Mr C is back to his normal self.

Zilly, glad you enjoyed getting out for a good walk. I'm really looking forward to being able to get some decent exercise. Not quite up to a good walk yet, but hopefully in a week or two.

Sara, love the sound of the candlelit takeaway - might have to steal that idea myself.

Peanutter, so glad to hear the little man's cough is clearing. It's so hard not to worry when they're so small isn't it.

AFM, I am never eating cabbage again! I had about 3 mouthfuls with dinner on Monday night and poor little Cooper has been paying for it for the last 24 hours. He's been very unsettled and wants to do nothing but feed, even though we are struggling to get the wind out. He seems a little better this morning so hopefully we are through the worst of it... But I am also wondering if we've got a growth spurt going on because he's feeding a lot more than normal. So much so that I haven't had to express the last two mornings!

On a totally different note, are any of you ladies using slings ATM? I didn't have one with DS1 but bought a Mini Monkey when I was pregnant. I've tried putting Coops in it a couple of times, but don't really have the knack for it. He seems to get swallowed up by it and I'm terrified that if I was to leave him in there he'd suffocate. Not sure if that's just me being silly, or if it's a real risk, or if perhaps he's still a bit too little for it

slings - we use a close carrier sometimes, but I find it much easier to use the pram - particularly when I have both boys with me!

afm - had my six week check up, and all systems are go! I have to behave myself at the gym (ie: take it easy, no jogging, only recumbent bikes, no ab work and only light weights and gentle weight resistance ... etc ...) and she confirmed that DS2's cough isn't whooping cough, but just a cold (and probably the one DS1 and I have had for the past two weeks ... FX DS2 doesn't have it for anything like that long!!)

Skye, Ooohhh fancy camera! I love my DSLR so much, but I must admit to not using it as much since I got my iPhone. I hope dd2's behaviour improves

MissE, I've got a sling, an Ergo and a HAB and at the moment, the ergo is the easier to use. I was looking at one of those slings, but was worried about the exact thing you are talking about so I decided against it. I am borrowing a CC from a friend this week, so will start using that around the house instead of the HAB which Connor has decided he doesn't like anymore.

3 mouthfuls of cabbage upset Cooper that much? Wind is just horrible isn't it? I hope it improves.

Nic- hope you got some more sleep last night

Sleep? What's that again? My little dude is wanting to feed every 2-3 hours which is fine, but is taking nearly an hour to get into that nice deep sleep where I can put him down without an instant wake up. The longest stretch I'm getting is between 8pm and midnight which is great, but 3-4hr just isn't enough to sustain the level of energy I need to keep up with this kid!

I attempted my first 'mummy & baby only' outing yesterday... We made it to the front doors of the shopping centre before he let out a huge, traumatizing scream... So I turned around and came home. I've got my first ABA meeting tomorrow at the library at the Westfield, but it don't need to walk through the shopping centre to get to the meeting so if he hollers again, it'll be ok (see how I'm talking myself into it being ok? Eeek).

Totally gorgeous! DH was changing his nappy and I started poking his cheeks and making funny noises and the smiles just kept coming... DH and I were laughing and jumping around like idiots!! So cool!!

DS2 is really mercurial with the dummy ... but it works often enough that it's still or go-to if he's fed, dry, warm, winded and still not settling ...

smiles here too - but DS2 is super cheeky, and has smiled maybe 5 times, but always stops 5 nanoseconds before DH gets there to see, or I get the camera! ah, well ... there's time ...

Miss E, what a relief that Cooper's tummy has re-settled. In terms of a sling, I have an Ergo and Hug a Bub, still getting used to both but like Elocin I tend to reach for the Ergo - still getting used to the wrap style of the HAB.

Elocin, big hugs for sleep deprived you! That naughty boy of yours is sure keeping you on your toes. Well done on the mama-only outing, I think you did great to get as far as you did! Enjoy the ABA meeting, love to hear how you found it.

Howdy to anyone I missed.

AFM: plodding along here, Willow has had a big growth spurt also - has been cluster feeding and protests loudly if the flow isn't quick enough, typing to latch but pushing away at the same time as she gets so frustrated! She also seems to do this when she's over-tired too. Had a good night last night, five hours sleep! DH did the 1:00am feed with EBM and I did the next two, it worked well - although I must admit, I don't love expressing. It pinches and bruises my nips a bit, maybe I'm positioning it wrong or need a different flange...? Am using a Medela mini electric, anyone have any tips? Am also seriously considering comp feeding as I don't think she's getting enough BM and am a bit stressed. I feel guilty for considering it...will see what the next few days bring. RE dummy, a bit hit and miss too though she does take it when she's really worked up and it calms her down most of the time. The best thing we've found to keep her settled/asleep is a white noise app, we pop the iPhone in her bassinette when she goes down and so far, so good (don't want to jinx it!).

buffy- there is a white noise app?!?! far out there is an ap for everything isnt there, might have to get that one... i only ever get aps when i hear of one someone else has and think its cool. Ive got the medela pump, its a manual one though not electric, not sure which one it is you had, the electric ones they have in hosp are awesome, but cost a lot to buy and rent.
i hate how we put the pressure on ourselves, do what you need to do. i have finally gotten my head around it being ok that i am expressing and not bf. I got dh to buy formula last week when my supply was low and he had lost weight and not feeding properly, fortunatley my supply picked up and i havent had to open it and now i am getting a ebm stash in the freezer.
re dummy- ryker seems to like it,, ds2 liked it initially too but started spitting it out all the time at 3-4months old. i was spewing at the time but it was easier to not have to get rid of it down the track like i did with ds1!
Miss E- i only have the HAB, havent actually used it at home yet just a few times when out, i find it good for some occasions but not when i am trying to do things that require bending down/ over etc. like going to watch ds1 play soccer its perfect i can stand there hands free to cheer him on but im not actually doing anything, if i was trying to clean or something at home i find it a bit difficult.
skye- glad your feeling better today, so am i actually, i havent been trying to get something done by a certain time or get out of the house, the big boys have been good today (playing with all ds1's new things) Ive been able to sit down with them and build some lego when Ryker was alseep, ive done some washing, folding, ironing & already cooked dinner and i feel much more calm then the last few days. How is dd2 going today?
peanutter and Nic- yay for smiles!! i havent caught any of camera as yet either. lol Nic i can imagine you jumping and bouncing around getting gorgeous smiles from Connor!
Ryker's rash is still very much there, i spoke to the photographer and she was ok with post poning the photos. i will call her next week and see how things are going. unfortunatley kind of missing the "newborn" period, but i would much prefer photos i am happy with. She did say she can photoshop but she agreed when i said i would always know they were photoshoped and not pure.

Buffster, I find that I need to change position when expressing a few times to get it right so it doesn't hurt. Are you using it on the lowest speed?

I was given an ABA membership from friends and just found the member meet-ups on the ABA website. I'm really looking forward to it... Will report back tomorrow and let you know how it (and my next attempt at an all alone outing) goes.

I say give comp feeding a go if it will help stop the stress hon. Whatever it takes to make you and your girl happy

Not sure on the pump buffy sorry hun.
Are you getting her weighed regularly? by the looks of your pics she's growing perfectly its hard not to worry when you cant physically see how much theyre getting, but if she's having lots of wet nappies and is growing then you can be sure you're onto a good thing! and also remember that she is more efficient at getting the milk out than the pump, so what you're expressing isnt all you have ITMS? she'll be getting more when she feeds. hope that makes sense!

Nikkers, yes the toddler gods must have listened! she's been relatively well behaved today! i confiscated her dora nighty, its so sad that something as simple as a nighty can set her off into mega melt down mode, yesterday morning i made her put pants and a jumper on to take DD1 to school, she screamed blue murder all the way to school, all through the shops and all the way home until she got it back on, i was going to just wash it and put in her drawers but thought no, its the cause of alot of meltdowns so im going to chuck it and hope she eventually forgets about it!

heading to mothers group thismorning to check it out! feels a little strange not being a first time mum and all but anyway dh is home so minding ds1 and ds2 and i thought i would go and see how it is, if it feel out of place or anything i wont go back but might be nice to find some other mums of little ones in the area ( we lived in melb when ds1 was born so went to a mums group there but moved back to syd when he was 12months old. moved to this area 4yrs ago and ds2 was 9months old)
Rytker had another good night last night, fed at 6pm, 8pm, 2am, 630am

IsAnyones bubs not having play time? All this weekall addison has wantrd to do is feed and go back to bed. Ive tried keeping her awake for.some play time but she just gets cranky and.wants.boob!

How's DD2 today Skye? Yep, having W weighed weekly and she seems to be doing fine. With play time, maybe A is exhausted after all that recent cluster feeding? Or she just loves naps! W has a longer play time in the morning and mid-arvo, but isn't super awake after other feeds. She's started chuckling in her sleep, it's so cute! She also makes this funny 'ah' sigh after she sneezes, like an old man. Cracks me up.

SIL came over last night for a D&M, she's the baby whisperer - got W to self-settle for the first time! Turns out all the rocking and patting we've been doing to help her settle has probably been over-stimulating her and taking way longer to get her to sleep (sometimes up to an hour). That's what happens when you read too many books instead of your baby, d'oh. Practicing today with cuddles and then putting her down drowsy with a dummy and white noise, most of the time she drifts off. I'm in shock! Does mean she sleeps for less time but is still doing 2-3 hour stretches at night; and I figure it'll all change again as she grows.

Tried a small comp feed too - she took 30 ml and rejected the rest, straight back to boobie
