I have a present for each of the kids and I'll hide a few little chocolate eggs around after they've had breakfast (mean yeah? Lol), but no pressie for poor Arlia. Hmmm, perhaps I'll eat a bunch of chocolate myself tomorrow and Arlia can have a taste through the milk, hehe.:

lct, WELCOME! Was so happy to hear about Yves' long-awaited arrival, what an incredible marathon. You did so well and he's just gorgeous - really love the name. Isn't that first day home wonderful? I agree, it's lovely to have visitors but the time with your partner and getting to know your new bub is essential. We've said no to lots of people, depending on how I'm feeling (don't know about you, but mornings seem to be better). Congrats on getting the BF established - sore nips are the worst. Yes, still finding the sleep thing has been stressful and every now and again I lose my confidence and go back to checking her a billion times. The white noise phone app has great at night, it forces me to ignore every snuffle. Indeed, Grandad is rather smitten with Willow.

AFM: bub still unsettled, definitely a tummy ache as she relaxes as soon as she poops and/or burps. Haven't done anything different with my diet, must be a milk thing....or her digestive system adjusting...? She hates being wrapped at the moment so has been a bit more difficult to get to sleep, feel like I never have my hands free. More tears out of nowhere today despite a good sleep last night, felt pretty overwhelmed and tired. It probably sounds silly, but I'm also missing time with DH - even just cuddles :cry: I know it's only been two weeks but I've been a donkey on the edge all day. How long do I wait to chat to someone about it? MCHN is coming next week for our home visit, will see what she thinks.
i got A an Amilrose mouse rattle from the easter bunny, its very sweet.
Buffy everything you're feeling is very normal hun, i remember my bff felt like she was missing her hubby in those early weeks too. tell the nurse when she comes, but i promise you will feel better about everything soon mylove.

Ooh, can I join you lovely ladies? I've been meaning to pop in and say hi and somehow our baby girl is already 4 weeks old and I'm only just getting here now.
Our baby girl, Bianca Matisse was born on March 9th. We also have a little boy who will be 3 in May, he absolutely adores her.
She has been such an angel, she's a wonderful sleeper, unlike her brother that never wanted to be put down!
We've had our feeding issues, still have a raw patch on one side but I think it's on the mend. I expressed for about 5 days to let it heal (was dripping blood, ew) but it didn't quite get there with the manual pump opening it up anyway. Also, she was drinking from the bottle so quickly that she never seemed full, so I was worried about how much to give her, and she settles so much better after a breastfeed. So I'm expressing to get it started, then put her on and that's working ok, not as painful as it was. I'm glad to not have to express whole feeds overnight anymore, it meant being up constantly either feeding or pumping, or up with ds. So tired.
Our little princess is a chucker. So much vomit, my goodness. Milk that she has just had, digested milk, we both end up covered in it. ds wasn't a chucker so i'm at a loss with how to help her keep it down. It might also have something to do with her not doing number 2's, she has such a full belly, surely that doesn't make it easy to keep milk down. She went 2.5 weeks without a poo, dr and mchn both said it was ok, it's been another week though and she's getting uncomfortable again so the mchn is going to do some massage to help things along next week. Sorry about all the poo and vomit talk!
She's ready for bed now so have to run, looking forward to chatting with you all x
Sam's half got her routine sorted... sleep for around 3-5 hours, wake up feed and repeat.... until we get to 12-5am and she will only stay asleep being cuddled and not in her cradle. Yesterday she slept through (other than feeds for the first time and I'm putting that down to being exhausted from meeting some of DH's friends and the heat of the day.
Keira gets excited over all the squeaks Sam makes, I think she's waiting until Sam is big enough to be played with. Keira wouldn't leave Sam's side while there were visitors here.
Sam doesn't mind being wrapped... as long as her hands escape free (usually within 5 mins of her being wrapped... I don't mind too much but then she scratches herself with her claws (and any nearby boobs).
glad I dont have a boy with a firehose... I've alredy been peed on twice by her (the first one was the first nappy change at home) DH was quite happily bragging that he was getting away scott free, but then she pooed on him tonight. (although we are not sure if it was Sam's way of sayong she doesn'y like pink... (it was the first pink thing we have put her in)

Buffy you poor thing, sounds like you're having a rough time. I don't think there would be any harm seeing your GP and discussing how your feeling, if it is more than baby blues the earlier you seek help the better for everyone. The beyond blue website is great, you can do the edinborough depression scale which is 10 questions that are designed to screen for depression and anxiety. Your MCHN or GP would get you to do it when you see them. It's a huge adjustment going from a couple to a family of three then throw in lack of sleep it can be pretty overwhelming. :hug: I hope you start feeling better soon, at least its Easter so no excuse needed to eats lots of chocolate ;)
Zilly we have another one here who likes her arms out of her wrap so I've given up! Sounds like Keira is living the new addition to the family :)
Better night so far tonight, resettled easily yay! I was worried as she went almost 5 hours this Arvo between feeds but she has done very well. I shall have to get up early and let the dog inside then go and hide some eggs. I think it will be an early night tonight for us!

I fed Ryker at 530am, settled him then went and put the eggs down through the house and out into the yard, i had just got back into bed when the big boys woke up so no more sleep for me! (the dog got to a few of the chocolates too so i hope she doesnt get sick now)
Went fine last night on my own, big boys went to bed early and easily, they have hardly eaten all week being sick so they run out of petrol pretty early on.

Buffy- definatley talk to you MCHN about how your feeling but if you need to speak to someone sooner as Sara suggested the beyond blue website may be able to help. Definatley dont hold your feelings in, i did with ds1 and never did anything about it which only after i was through it i could see that i had PND. making specific times for the two fo you is just as important as spending one on one time with Willow and time on your own. Its hard to balance especially so early on in the peace, but coming from a mum of multiple kids it DOES GET EASIER... i had ppl telling me this with ds1 but couldnt invisage it whilst i was going through it, but its true, things will get better. Hormones can be evil too we have absolutley no control over them and they come and hit us without warning.
Nickers your morning sounds just like mine except I ran out and did the eggs just as Helena started to stir at 6. Dog only got one egg before I put him inside. Finished feeding Helena and then the big girls came in. Apparently DD1 found her bunny at 3am and woke dd2 up so DH had to put them back to bed.
Helena had a much better night so I'm ready to tackle Easter celebrations today

I know I've been a little quiet about how things are going here, but I almost feel a little guilty posting about us because things are going so smoothly and I know that is not the case for everyone. But then I figure if I can't share my joy here, then where can I?
Arlia is everything we could have asked for and we adore her, as do her big brother and sister. All they want to do when she is awake is give her kisses. Although they don't get as many opportunities as you would think because she sleeps really well and lots, lol. She generally sleeps for 2-4 hours at a time during the day and will feed and then either go back to sleep, or possibly have a nice awake period for an hour or so and then go back to sleep. I actually start to miss her when she sleeps for so long and seeing as hubby is home I sometimes just keep her on my lap while she's sleeping because I love having her close to me. Gosh I just love that newborn smell and the precious warm snuggles they give. I think I feed her 2-3 times during the night but I don't tend to check the time each time she wakes. I'm really lucky that she's a great breastfeeder like her brother and sister and I'm able to feed her laying down. That means that I can doze while she feeds. I think she tends to feed and be back sound asleep fairly quickly, but I tend to wake after about an hour and smooch her back across to her cot. Her last feed in the morning is usually about 5-6am and then I just keep her in the bed with me snuggled in my arms.
She sometimes has a bit of an unsettled period either in the mornings around 9-10am or in the evening from 8-9pm. She cries a lot quieter than my other two banshee's did though, lol, and even when she's unsettled it more just a bit of wriggling and sooking which is usually fixed by a nice poop, burp or vomit.
Now, having said all that nice stuff, I'll still admit that with the three littlies it's taken me 4 hours just to write this, lol! They are pretty full on all the time and generally at least one of them wants something at any given time. Seeing as none of them go into any sort of child care I am with them 24/7 (which is my choice and I love it), but it can be a challenge at times. Hubby is still home with us at the moment, but there's been a few times when I've had all three kids by myself, but tonight was the first time I had all three for bedtime by myself. Luckily hubby was home for showers, but left straight after that as the club night that he runs always has special events on long weekends and he has to be there early. Bedtime went fairly well except for Kyson playing up a bit while I was trying to put Shayla to bed. She was the first one down so it got easier after that, hehe.

Hi guys, thanks for your replies *hugs* really appreciate the support. Still feeling a bit out of it, no sleep last night (me, not her!) due to anxiety. Trying to speed up MCHN visit so I can talk through concerns and hopefully regain some confidence.

Buffy, I hope you can move up your MCHN appointment. It's almost impossible in my area. Even when I rang them recently the girl who does the bookings was telling me that they are reallllllly busy and that there have been lots of babies born in the area lately. I wanted to tell her that it's not my problem, and that it's always been hard to get appointments since my first child was born, so why haven't they hired more MCHN's? The centre I go to has two offices for MCHN's, but do you think I ever see two there working at the same time? Noooooo. So it's not a space issue...

I was wondering if you'd mind if I joined your group? Technically I'm meant to be in the April one, but there's no one there yet and most of my beloved belly buddies are in here. So I thought I'd pop in and say hi.
Cooper was born one week ago today on Monday 2 April at 4.55pm. He weighed in at 3.82kg's, was 51cm long and had a head circumference of 38cm. His big brother Ash is absolutely smitten with him (as are his mum and dad). I came home from hospital on Friday and so far things have been going great! I'm still recovering from my CS, but finding it much easier than last time, Cooper is feeding well (which is a huge relief, because I had terrible troubles with Ash) and sleeping most of the time. At the moment I'm waking him every three hours for feeds just to make sure his weight gains get off to a good start, but I'm hoping that when we see the MCHN I'll be stop that and hopefully let him go a bit longer overnight.
I've had a good read through the last pages of the thread and am looking forward to getting to know you all and sharing the joy of watching our bubba's grow up.
Buffy hope you have some luck movng your appointment forward. I know we have a drop in option and my MCHN centre on Friday mornings, not sure if the ACT might have a similar setup if you cant move your appointment
Miss E welcome to the group :) Congrats on the birth of Cooper, glad you are doing well. I had to wake Helena 3 hrly for a couple of days, she now makes sure she wakes at least that frequently herself lol

We are doing well, Helena enjoyed all the attention yesterday with my extended family and the big girls had a ball doing two egg hunts. Unfortunately poor little bubba had wind again for four hours overnight so I am exhausted tonight. DH did take her for an hour and a half to try and settle her but with no luck so another early night for me. DH is back at work tomorrow so now its time to start getting our routine sorted, although its still school holidays so it will be a different routine when school goes back.
Helena did a massive poosplosion/wee/fart AFTER her bath on the way to get dressed. I thought I had the towel wrapped well around her but she managed tog et the towel, tiles and my pants and shoes, luckily I hadnt emptied the bath so DH did round two and I showered. Im sure her tummy must feel better now after emptying everything out. Now all 3 girls have pooped on me :) another parenting milestone
Buffy: I am sorry to hear you are feeling so anxious and not sleeping. It can be really hard with bub #1 and I remember having all sorts of strange thoughts and worries (at one stage I was sure Emily did not like me). I do know that there is a drop in time at our local Gunghalin clinic. I think it used to be Tuesdays?? So they do it in the ACT. If you are feeling lonely and want to have a chat I only have Alicia on Thursdays and I can come and visit you/go for a coffee. I know we have not really met in person so it might be strange but wanted to offer anyway. Contact me on facebook if you want. It sounds like everyone had a lovely Easter. We had a relaxing time Church on Sunday which was so nice catching up with all our friends and today we went to the park and then just hung out at home. I finally returned to my blog and put my birth story up. It is at Mummy's Undeserved Blessings: Baby Alicia...Born on the Bathroom Floor for those who are interested. As it is so public it is a little different from the one I posted on Bellybelly...no poo references :)
Ali has settled into our family well and she is being fairly easy. She did have one major meltdown while in the hospital..it was the second last night so she should not have been too sick but she just screamed and screamed and then would settle for a few mins then wake and scream again. I tried feeding her which would work for a while but obviously wasn't the problem. I looked after her from 9pm to about 11pm then a nurse sid she would take her for a while and she had her for about an hour and a half. I tried to sleep but every now and then I could her her waking up and crying again. She finally got her to sleep in a pram and gave brought her back..but she woke again. Hehe the nurse was even calling her a little toad (in a funny way). I think she finally gave up at 1am or even 1.30am. Then the little monkey slept until 8am!!! I felt sorry for my room mates. Who knows what was wrong....all of my babies have had at least one night like that. DH was happy that he did not have to deal with that one.
Hi girls, I haven't been getting my notifications....... grrr, not ignoring you!! Just popped in quickly while I was putting DD back to bed after the neighbour started the dog barking when she came to tell us the garage door was still up. Thankfully it didn't wake the little man as well.
Been a bit crazy here, which is why I haven't checked in too. I've managed to develop gall stones and had 3 trips to the ER in 5 days then another 2 attacks yesterday. Not nice at all. Seeing a surgeon on Thursday and hopefully my gall bladder will come out in the next few weeks...... Fun with a 2.5 year old and a 4 week old!!
Sarah - mine have both been chuckers. Hang in there and it does get better about 12 weeks when their digestive system kicks in.
Anyway, I'll be back tomorrow with a proper catch up while DD is at daycare. I have an angel baby who sleeps for 2.5 hours at a time through the day and 5 - 6 straight over night (sorry to brag but DD never did through the day so I'm excited) so should have time to catch up.

buffy- like the others said if you can ring your mchn, its been a tough few days for you and the 4 day w/e with everything shut doesnt help. I went to our clinic last thurs just to get R weighed, she told me i could come again this thurs same time if i wanted to, so your place may have similar times when u can just drop in without an appointment?? I am sure if you put it to them that you dont feel you are coping and really need help and support they will try and get you in sooner (when is your appt scheduled for??)

bf is going OK i suppose. so during the day feeds i am trying to bf, i had a succesfull feed yesterday arvo and we didnt even need to top up with ebm! but he is still extremley slow on the boob, like 1 hour..... and on the not as good feeds when i am trying to bf, then giving ebm, then expressing its taking too long.
ok if he was my first, but in 2 wks time when school is back its just not going to be doable. My supply has picked up which is helping the bf attempts but i am sure he has worked out the bottle is a faster and easier way for him. anyway just taking it as it comes and will continue doing what i can for as long as i can.
Last night dh gave him ebm at 10pm (i went to bed at 830pm and got him to wake me at 10pm so i could also express at the feed time) he woke at 2am and then not until 7am.
Lisa- i am sure the other parents understood what you were going through and there was nothing more you could do other than comfort Alicia, she must have known she wasnt where she wanted to be
Sara- sounds like Helena struggles with the wind. Ryker seems to have a real unsettled time at the famous "witching hour" between like 6pm - 9/10pm
Easter sunday was spent at my parents and extended family also got to meet Mr Ryker. he wasnt put down the entire time! but then was super unsettled for hours after we got home so not sure if it was related or not.
