So we are nearly at day 14, 2 weeks old/young!

It seems like some of us have had a rough start.
After ending up with a 3rd degree tear with a 1.5 hr labour from woah to go, I had to go into theatre to be sewn up. So I missed out on that first hour of bonding and feeding and then my milk didn't come in till day 6, which is quite late!

We have had trouble BF and I went and saw a lactation consultant which was the best decision I could have made! She lost 300 g in 3 days!
Found out she was tongue tied and she was starving. Then took her the same day to get it snipped.
Instant relief for DD and she latched right on.
So at the moment we are BF and expressing for 2 feeds a day so we can see the exact amount she is getting.
In 4 days she put on 150g so I'm jumping for joy.

I am worried though as my BB's went from rock hard and leaking for 3 days to hardly feeling full? So I'm of to the LC again and drinking RLT and fenugreek. Bit yucky but ill try anything.

How are all you mums and bubs going?

Oh my gosh. I was wondering why no one was posting in the other group lol.

Nyah-Rose was born on the 12th of March at 9.16 am after an ARM induction. My labour was just over an hour long.

Hello and welcome to the new ladies.

I had posted in the pregnancy buddies forum lol. Was wondering how everyone was going, with sleeping and feeding and so on....

We seem to be sleeping from 10-11pm until 2-3am and waking at 7-8am. Day times are our stressful times, as Nyah-Rose wants to be cuddled and held when ever she's awake. So it's hard to get things done. I'm feeling rather exhausted and fatigued tho, looking after my large family, plus a new born and a household. So if I have a nap, I don't get much done at all.

How are you all coping so far?

    Hi All,

Glad to hear updates from everyone.

It's so reassuring to know that others are experiencing the same ups and downs.

Little Isla is 3 weeks old tomorrow. DH went back to work today, so it's our first long period of time solo. So far, so good - well I'm not in tears yet.

The last week has been very rough, Isla is very colicy and sleep at night has just not been happening. It's exhausting. I'mfinding myself getting anxious in the afternoon, worrying about what the evening may bring and whether or not I'll be able to settle her. We are doing a combo of co-sleeping and bassinet beside the bed. Whatever works hey.

Hoping things settle down soon and we all get some sleep. It is hard to see her in pain from wind.

Anyways, got to run, bubs is crying. Will try to check in more regularly.

Hey everyone. Nyah-Rose is 4 weeks old today. Time is going so fast

Nyah-Rose has been really unsettled almost every night the last few nights, not going down properly until nearly midnight. But on the plus side, when that does happen, she sleeps until 6am!! So I get a good block of sleep, just not as much beforehand. I can't nap much during the day, as I have a nearly 3 year, who is currently refusing to nap. I had to bribe him with chocolate today lol. But we had a nap. They're few and far between lol.

She's also smiling a lot too. Has been for about a week and a half now. It's so very gorgeous.

However I am having a little problem, when I go out alone, with the 2 or 3 you gets ones, I get nervous and anxious and feel like just going home. I'll give you an example. Today, I had to go out to pick something up, and was going to go to Coles, in the next suburb over bexause i was already there. But I changed my mind, and was going to go to Coles in my suburb. But when I got there, decided to just go home instead. I don't know if it's because I'm nervous, scared or just worried I won't be able to control mr 2 or do much because Nyah-Rose will want to be carried while I try to push a trolley and control mr 2. It happened to me last Friday, was in a big shopping centre, and had the 3 youngest, it was a stressful nightmare. I'm just not feeling confident yet I guess. School goes back next week, and that worries me a little bit. With drop of/pick up and feeding and so on. I'm sure ill be fine, but the thought still scares me.

How are you all going? Is everyone coping and getting enough sleep? Lol
