Nicky, Jade is about the same as your DS then!
she was born 51 cm, at her 8 month CHN checkup she was 72cm and 8kg and 12 month check was 73cm and 8.6kg so she only grew 1cm and not even 1kg in 4 months.

argh bad hour - my usually happy baby has just woken from a nap screaming blue murder - she was in pain somewhere - arching her back screaming, wanting cuddles, cracking it if we cuddled her - so NOT the little girl i'm used to! poor poppet - she seemed to be in so much pain - i was near tears trying to comfort her. not sure if it's teeth, sore tummy (extremely peeved at my mum - she gave her mild creamy curry for lunch - i don't mind a little bit of spicy food for her - but she's not had coconut before, and it is not something she should have been having without talking to me first!) - it might be a bit of the tummy upset DH and I have had lately, but it seems different... anyhoot - better go - we have a temporarily happy girl again so i want to try and get some dinner into her

Naomi - Yes DH is going part time working 3 days a week, and have got CJ into a daycare place for 3 days so we are ramping up starting in a couple of weeks to the full three days a week at daycare starting 12th July. Most of the time I feel pretty good about the decision but occasionally I feel guilty because with the redundancy money we could just about afford for me to stay home another year but then wouldn't be able to afford to have any further children for a long time and 2 years out the workforce would be quite limiting for me on a return - but then CJ would love a sibling am sure and she was full of smiles at the visit to the childcare centre today. Has Sean got any advice for Ryan about being main carer (although only 2 days a week). So just need to sort a job now!

Have to go for tea - back later I hope - fed up of this cold weather am really struggling to get nappies dry.

vic thats where i love having a wood fire it dries nappies overnight when we are sleeping but stains that need to be sunned out are going to have to wait till we get some sun lol by the way how are the books going? the previews look awesome

at the moment im just trying to come to terms with the fact we dont know the sex of the baby im looking forward to the surprise but there were gender specific things i was going to buy oh well i guess they can wait till after lucky the pram is black and the car seat is grey i was going to get a capsule but i cant justify the $250 just to go with the pram when i survived without one for jamie who knows hopefully i can get jamie into a bed soon so he doesnt feel pushed out by his sibling

Still here, just a bad poster atm ladies Aaron has been skipping most of his day sleeps and it is driving me nuts.
I think however it's my fault he has been sleeping with me for the last week at night, it's great I get a good night sleep....I just don’t know how to break the cycle.
Anyone else co sleeping atm?
Also little man has 4 teeth cutting in what happened to one at a time..LOL!!

Also have some fantastic news.....drum roll.....Aaron's HC only grew 0.1cm in the last month so things are really slowing down!
Today on MSN there was this 2 year old Russian boy who has one of the worst cases of Hydro poor kid, just broke my heart. Money is being raised for him to be treated in Sydney
It just makes you feel so lucky for what you do have and some families in other countries are doing it really hard, we are fortunate with our health care in this country.

we PT co sleep. if it means we get rested we do it. she obviously needs it. i guess i dont see it as habit forming - she will eventually go in her own room! at the moment, she goes down in her own cot, and if she wakes up she comes into our bed for a feed and cuddles until she resettles in a deep sleep. if i fall asleep with her, she doesn't get moved again. it works for us. she knows her bed, and she knows the difference between our bed and hers. i know some people consider having the cot in the parents room a form of co sleeping - if thats the case, we co sleep full time!

as i see it, you do what works. if you dont' feel comfortable co sleeping, then you work to make changes. if you're ok with it, you keep doing it. every family dynamic is different and you have to do what works for you. i have given up on discussing our choices with people - they're not necessarily going to agree and i don't want to have to justify it. WE have no issue, and WE are the only people that need to worry about it!

i so hear you! e has four molars and one of her front teeth on the move!! she rarely complains but i can tell it is hurting by her sleep and eating habits...

Hey Nic,
We do from mid morning and pretty much have since I went back to work (actually a bit before that), we do it to be honest out of pure laziness as rather than spending the time resettling we know he will fall to sleep straight away in our bed. (and then we get more sleep too)
Bailey is going through a bit of a change atm with his sleeping, he has started to self settle (he had never done this before) but will only self settle for morning nap and bedtime, I dont know what sparked the change other than the fact that he seems more confident and happy out of the brace so is less needy and happy on his own? He is so uninterested in his arvo nap but I think he still needs it, so Sean usually lays with him on our bed and they both have an afternoon nap LOL. If he misses it though he is coping well. I think it may only be another few weeks or maybe a month before he drops it all together and the morning nap become a bit later (and hopefully longer).

Damn it I hate that I don't have time for a longer reply. Thinks have been busy here with my birthday and preparing for Jemima's b'day. Thanks everyone for my lovely birthday wishes! I felt very loved!

Naomi- still on schedule for a visit at the end of october and early November. the wedding is on the 30th of Oct.

Nicole- we still cosleep part of the morning like the other girls. I think you sound like you are going with your instincts and that is great. Do what works. When you think he is ready to go back you will know and he will go fine. We are planning to move Jemima soon and TBH I think that when we moved she moved just fine to a new room and new sounds without really a moments bother. We are going to do it cos DH really has to sleep well to study and work fulltime and so it has to be done. Really glad to hear DS's HC has remained stable. Very happy for you all.

BG- hope E is feeling better

Well CJ is at occasional care for three hours and I should be getting things in order but I am chilling with a coffee after going into a mild panic about how difficult it is going to be to get CJ to childcare and me to work in the mornings! I must get more organised, she is going for 1 day one week then 2 days the next before the full three so I must really try approach those like I would need to when working - it looks like DH has got his shifts fixed so he will be starting early and finishing at 4 so he will be able to do the pick ups which is great. When she was little and was just really breastfeed then out simple, but now with breakfast seems to take so lo-ong - she got to occasional care at 9:15 so not bad but I wasn't showered or even brushed my hair (doesn't bother me now but for work I will need to be more presentable!).

Curbing my BB addiction would be a start and save me a few mins I am sure!

Nicole - If CJ wakes up before 6:30 but after 5:00 she comes in with us, and we usually get a nice lie in - in the middle of the night if I have to get up more than 3 times she comes in with us. I like sleeping next to her but she hogs a lot of room, and I am having problems with my hip which have had since she was born and I think sleeping funny is making it worse. But sleeping next to her in our bed day or night is always what I do if I really need her to sleep and fancy some shut eye myself too.

Bella - All depends on what I get work wise, if I get a permanent job that offers a decent maternity package then I will probably wait to make sure can qualify for that (or at least qualify for the gov maternity scheme perhaps - although I am not that impressed with that one). I need to make sure my thyroid levels are ok, and also want a couple of months off the mini pill first (I still haven't really had an AF, I am hoping that is due to the mini pill, I haven't been consistently feeding CJ overnight for about 8 months now so would be surprised if was the breastfeeding) - so TTC won't be any sooner than beginning of 2011 anyway. If I get contract work then will just be waiting for start of 2011. 6-8 weeks ago I felt really quite desperate to have another baby pretty soon, but now desire is much less perhaps is because I am realising how much work it will be working full time again. Anyway my sister had a dream I had twins too, a boy and girl this time and we called them Sol Fox and Emily Aimee (not very fussed about those names)!

Jacinta - I am sure bub 2 will behave and you won't have to have a c-section. Books coming on well, just waiting for material with latest pics to come back (I now have everyone thanks) - I am going to send them out in alphabetical order of babies names (we don't want Jemima to always be last!). The time taken to receive the material is about 3 weeks at the moment, and the fluctuations in the US dollar to AU dollar, plus me going back to work fulltime have led me to decide can't really do as much of a business but I am going to do as a hobby for people to fund my own craft purchases (will send everyone details via FB).

CJ is trying really hard to get up on her knees into crawling position, so she might make my 12 July target for crawling yet, she is mega chatty this week and happy (apart from the distress over removal of chicken bones!), she has also discovered she has knees, before when stood up she would hold her legs rigid and straight but now she just wants to bounce all the time I am happy about that but is much more tiring!

Nicky - Hope Allira is ok - read about your hospy trip on FB

Oh we are going to the zoo on the 20th - are we still planning to go there for next meet up? If so is there anything people want me to scope out?

Nicole: we dont co sleep but not for lack of trying! DD just thinks its playtime when she lays in bed with me, starts slapping my face and rolling around, even if she is dog tired...plop her in her cot and falls strate to sleep...must be like me and enjoy her own space (i hate sharing even a queen size bed).

Hi all.
Nicky: Sorry to hear of A's stint in hospital Glad you are home and she is doing a bit better.
Vic: It's good for you to get there at 9:15. On mornings where we have to go to playgroup I really struggle to get out of the house at 9. On work mornings though I get up early and get myself organised before the girls wake (or at least Phoebe), but that may all have changed now - the holiday REALLY screwed with her sleep patterns so she got up at 6 this morning. If she does that tomorrow morning I will be a bit stuffed I think.
Glad to hear CJ's up on her knees. And LOL @ the bouncing. Phoebe's a bit of a bouncer too - it's cute hey. She now likes to bounce while clapping her hands - something that doesn't always happen balance-wise! She often ends up on her bum while trying that trick.
Bella: Sorry for missing your birthday - I hope it was a smashingly good day

Nay: We have struggled with afternoon sleeps here for a while now too. Phoebs seems to get overtired, doesn't settle as easily or sleep for as long. However if she misses it she REALLY doesn't cope well so we will be persevering with it for as long as possible here!
Thanks for the comment re the cake. I hired a cake mold from a decorating shop near here. Decorative cake pans are SO expensive to buy but you can hire theirs for $4 / night. It was a bit of a rough job but the most adventurous I've been with birthday cakes thus far.
So glad the end of FT work is in sight for you! Must be so exciting.
BG: Hope E is feeling better? 4 molars! Phoebe still only has 4 teeth up top and 3 down the bottom, LOL! I too love the vid of E walking - it is just gorgeous.
Nic: I have the same issues here as Emma - my kids just won't settle in bed with me. We tried again when we went away but she just kept waking, squirming, hitting, rolling, screaming etc. We are having big issues sleep-wise atm thanks to the stupid holiday. Sigh.
Jacinta: A surprise will be nice. You can always go on your shopping spree with baby in tow for girl- or boy-specific items. It'll be exciting right up until the last minute
Emma: Gosh, I haven't had Phoebe weighed and measured for ages. But Jade's size sounds a little like Natty's. Nat is still quite small (short) and slight... but that could be because she doesn't eat anything.

We had an alright holiday - we ate well, drank some nice wine, had pleasant weather through the day and I got to read a book. But the nights were TERRIBLE - Phoebe just didn't settle in and last night at home was the same. I am praying she goes back to how she was but am not sure that it'll happen (or that I can afford to be this tired - particularly when as of next week I will be full time for 6 weeks while my colleague goes on annual leave). I may end up night weaning which will SUCK because Phoebe is such a booby baby. I imagine after that she will wean altogether which makes me sad but at least we got to 12 months. (Plus I thought she'd given it away months ago and it turned out she didn't so who knows?)
Phoebe has SUCH a temper on her! The tantrums have really begun in earnest. She hates when you take things from her - Natty has toys that are unsuitable for her and she also has a penchant for power cords. She screams her head off and holds on with a vice-like grip to whatever she's got. It'd be funny if it weren't so painful to listen to, LOL!
Anyway, best be off to give the girls their milk and yoghurt. I'm going to start Phoebs on cows milk in the next couple of weeks and try to ditch the bottle

Bella - i know we briefly chatted on FB tonight, but wanted to pop in here and say that i'm thinking of you and hoping that tomorrow is a perfect day for Miss J's birthday - and Miss J - HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow sweetheart!

AFU - we've had a shocking few days - E is back to her normal happy go lucky self - the only time we're having any dramas with her is overnight - and i think her teeth are giving her sooo much grief. last night she was repeatedly crying out in pain in her sleep - it was breaking my heart. i went to get her and bring her into bed with us - she was still sleeping but crying to the point of sobbing, so i got the gum numbing stuff and just held her til she was in a deep sleep again. poor little monkey. it hurts so much to know i can't help her at all. me - well, i've had a bit of an ordinary week too. wrist kept popping for no reason. so even when E was sleeping, i wasn't able to cos it was hurting. thursday i started to feel really ordinary at work from sleep deprivation and the pain factor, so headed home. friday we had a blow out on mum's car (pooring rain, tire went bang! - NOT FUN) - my bro bailed us out and changed tire for us (he could get home to dry clothes easier than me!), but it stuffed up all the tasks we were going to do, and i ended up haivng to do them later in the day. ended up with a migraine friday arvo, and a smidge of discomfort that i thought may be heading towards a blockage - ended up with mastitis (nasty nasty inflammation but, thankfully, no infection) on saturday/sunday. i was such a wreck, i caved and took some anti inflammatories yesterday - and today i feel so much better. my arm is almost completely re-stabilised now that i have the inflammation under control! my breast is sore, but definitely only at the point of noticable, not painful - and today, i went out and took E and her cousins to the park and we had a ball. off to work again tomorrow for my last week of only 2 days - from next week, i'm increasing my hours to cover 3 days a week. wish me luck!

So sorry for being so quiet lately. Morning sickness has kicked in with a vengeance, lol. I hate to complain about it though because this baby is such a wanted baby. And with this being my last pregnancy I really want to enjoy it! I guess I forgot how bad it actually got with Kyson though and that I spent 8 weeks laying on the couch. Not really an option with a very active one year old haha. The last few days have been especially hard because DH is in Bali. It was a trip I was meant to go on as well, but the morning sickness really made it seem like a bad idea. Mainly the thought of flying, urghhhh. But I told DH to still go because it's a trip for his sister's 40th birthday and heaps of family and friends were going too. I'm appreciating how difficult being a single mother must be! Even though I'm the primary care-giver and do probably 90% of the parenting of Kyson, it makes such a difference when you get even an hour a day to yourself when DH is looking after Kyson. I actually get sad that DH doesn't get more time with Kyson, but I guess someone has to bring home the $$$.

Well, the good news is that he is home tomorrow morning. I can't wait!!!!

Hi Girls

Well I have tried to post here a few times recently and it has eaten my post so I gave up. fingercrossed for this one! Anyway

We had a lovely party for Jemima's birthday. She had six little friends around to play with which was fun for her. I made her a birdie cake and lots of little cupcakes (actually DH made the cupcakes, I just decorated them). It was sooooo much fun!! A few ppl couldn't make it because I called to tell them that Jemima had been sick with fevers in the past few days and they just couldn't afford the risk, which I understand. She has had a cold and conjunctivitis and I think she is gearing up for more teeth again too. Despite all that she had a really lovely day so I was really happy. I felt completely frantic as ppl were arriving tho as I still didn't have all the cupcakes or cakes decorated. but in the end I figured that everyone coming was a close friend and that they all know what I am like! A completely disorganised person, and forgive me for it.

J is starting to settle a lot easier recently for her night sleeps. I tell you what, it is soo much nicer!!!

Anyway the origin is about to start so I had better go.

I promise I will come back on soon and do proper persies for you all.
