Vic: I TOTALLY remember the days not long ago when I was spending ALL my spare time on Seek and looking in 3 different papers and constantly tweaking my CV, saving different versions of it all over the place and paranoid that I was going to forget which one to send where, LOL! Fingers crossed that something comes up that is perfect for you over the next month. As for getting up for the soccer, better you than me! I remember last world cup I got up and went into work to watch it with my colleagues who had erected a big screen and were projecting it. I had thought I'd better be a joiner. But soccer just doesn't really do it for me I'm afraid.
Nic: Yes! I'm working Thurs. Stick your head in to suite 17 (off the atrium). I might even whack the answering machine on if you fancy grabbing a coffee.
OMG @ Grey's! I watched half of it while Phoebs was feeding last night and couldn't go back to sleep! I should've just kept watching, LOL! Will watch the 2nd half tonight...

Nicky - Hows Allira now? Don't apologise for the long post, sometimes you gotta get it out! It's bloody cold here too! I am finding it so hard to get out of bed in the mornings, and when Sean goes back to work (only 2 weeks away now) I'll have to get out of bed earlier so I can have a shower before he leaves at 625am - aggggghhhhh!!
Bridg - hows the family visit going? I read on FB that your household is all sick - bummer mate, hope you are all better soon :)
Amy - hows the full time going? I have two more weeks until I am officially part time, but I have a four day weekend this weekend as my big Bro, SIL and Niece's are visiting from Shepparton, and next week I have Wednesday off (Optus give us a paid day off for our bday - cool). We have Baileys first day of Child Care orientation on monday, they recommend 3 or so sessions, so I'm gonna do with him to all of them as I'll be the one dropping him off each day, I'll just organise to meet Sean there for the other 2 after monday (as its literally right across the road from my office so I'll just duck out for half an hour or so). Our Quiz Night went well, we raised about $1000 for our social club - Yay! We took Bailey and he stayed awake until 1030pm (this is a kid that is in bed at 7pm regular as clockwork!!!), I think it was cos the MIL kept giving him biscuits, I reckon she gave him about 10+!! FFS woman!!
BG - Congrats to going back to your old job, hope the 3 days works out well :) Agggh Teeth, Bailey got his 6th tooth a few days ago, and it looks like Number 7 is coming now so we've had a few unsettled nights. The 3rd and 4th top ones are the culprits atm. I was reading your FB status Lee about E getting her wrap and nappy for bed, very cute. When I put Bailz to bed tonight I was cuddling him to sleep as he was a bit restless with the teeth, he looked up at me, then waved and then turned over, closed his eyes and went to sleep - classic!! Made me chuckle!:)
Nic - HOW GOOD WAS GREYS!!!?? Man I was getting annoyed at the million or so adds though!! I laughed, I cried, it was awesome. Packed to the Rafters is back on Tuesday, looking forward to that!
Vic - Thanks for posting pics of CJ with her train - she's such a Thomas fan tehehehee. Glad child care orientation went well. I am worried Bailey will be seen as the 'bully' as he just loves to hug (wrestle), stroke hair (pull hair), and give sloppy kisses (lick other babies) hahahaha! Oh well, I'm sure the carers will keep an eye out. We had a heap of babies round here the other day and he gets so excited but he just bowls them over with his enthusiams. Perhaps the novelty will wear off once child care becomes a regular thing! Not sure if Sean has any advice, but I know I found it difficult to let him take over as main care giver as I felt it should be me, so perhaps to just let him work it out his way where possible. I still think I do a better job with Bailz LOL
Krystie - Hows the MS treating you? Are you getting excited? I am starting to get clucky, VERY clucky, but not doing anything until the end of the year at the earliest

Hey Girls
Slacko poster me is back again! I hope you've all been well!
I got Cara's needles and Laura'a needles done today...had been putting it off. And today I had to wait like nearly 2 hours!! (by the time I got home..and i am only 10 min drive from gp). Uhhh Cara was tired by then, had done a little poo (and I had not brought the pram with me, just carried her in), screamed when 2 of the 3 needles went in, b/f and fell asleep inmy arms..poor darling. I carried her (asleep!) to the car!! (pants still off, only a shirt). Laura, 4 on the other hand was an absolute ANGEL..and didn't evn flinch when the needles went in! The nurse gave her a bravery award! (what a great idea!) and a lollypop! Both girls seem fine. I asked Laura if her needles hurt, and she said one did, but wasn't overly bothered.
I'm still co-sleeping with Cara (I think you asked Nic?). Which is good as I just feed her and she goes back to sleep til about 7.30/8am. She has only ever woken up to play! once or twice at an odd hour (like 2/3am). I don't know how I am gonna go with 3 bedrooms, 1 of which my son Ronan, 10, has to have as he is a boy. Yassie, 13 and Laura, 4 already share a small room. I am thinking me and Cara will be sharing for awhile. Originally I was thinking Cara would go in the bunk bed under Yassie..but it seems unfair for Yas to have to share her room with 2 lil girls. I think I'll just have Cara in my room awhile....til she starts school at least (grade 1)...and by then...Yassie will be 18! and working! (maybe even living at her Dads or moving out with friends?? I think she will be the first out the door..she is VERY independant!!)
Teething..arghh..Cara has no 9 tooth now and I am SURE no 10 tooth is ready to burst through soon! She was biting me heaps for awhile..I was worried one of my nipples wasn't getting better! (I had mastitis, but it was sore after still).
Can I ask you girls a favour? Can you vote on my tutu design on the Little Fish Creations website? I'm trying to win a free tutu (I never win any of the facebook comps usually). Mine is design no 1 the licorice allsorts one. (I am sure a lot of you have seen me spamming about it on facebook) :) Thanks if you can help!

I got to meet Master Aaron yesterday - yay! And he brought Nicole with him too! Yay! Thanks Nic - I enjoyed having a coffee with you, even if I did spill most of it all down my top instead of drinking it.
Nay: I like your childcare plan. We were really struggling with getting Phoebe settled in but the last two Fridays she has had really good days and is now forming a bond with her carers. It is such a relief - I really didn't know what we were going to do if it didn't work out.
Glad you had a good night at the fund raiser. Nice job with raising the cash! LOL @ party animal Bailey. Hope he didn't suffer for it too much the next day.
Cathy: Yeah, difficult call re the room-sharing. I am sure you will work it all out as you go. I am glad the needles went ok, although sorry Cara got so upset. DH is taking Phoebe for her needles on Wednesday - I completely lost track and forgot! (We had the holiday right after her birthday and since then I have been working a lot... but... mainly I just forgot.)
Apart from being tired I'm feeling pretty good about work. Feeling like I am really learning on my feet, getting more confident with dealing with people (especially unreasonably pushy people - I had someone come in today and try to push me around and instead of buckling which I would've done a few months ago I just politely but firmly held my ground. I was proud of myself! LOL!).
I miss the girls a lot though :( I was getting a bit sad at work today because we were talking about our kids and I really had this sad feeling, wondering what they were up to that I was missing out on. I also missed Phoebe yesterday having coffee with Nic and Aaron - I wished we could've both had our babies with us (although it would've been noisier I'm sure!). However, I am really pleased that Phoebe is settling in to care and Natalie LOVES Fridays with my mum, so I doubt they miss me much at all ;)
OK, I have to go and pack the dishwasher because DH obviously doesn't know how. I hate it that breakfast bowls are still sitting in the sink - WTH is with that?!?

I went and had a BT yesterday before I meet the wonderful Miss Amy ;) to see what my egg reserve is as DH does not want to do IVF again. I will get the results in a couple of weeks time when I see my FS.

Hi girls!!! Long time no speak!
I hope you are all well.
I'm just doing some online catalogue browsing for the toy 'sales', to finalise the kids Christmas presents. I've done a layby list with kmart (who I reckon are the better of the stores this year) and will have to bave Big W for a bike for Lachie, but after that I'm done for the kids apart from some clothes and shoes that I will buy every so often until Christmas. So a tad excited that the kids are nearly taken care of so early in the year... first time I will be organised ever!
What are you all planning on getting the kiddies? Especially those of us with girls.... (no offence to the boy mums LOL).
I have got ideas for Allira, but I just don't know. I'm trying to envisage her as a nearly 20 month old and taking note of a little girl at playgroup who she will possibly be similar to. It's hard!!
How is everyone health wise? We seem to be pretty good here now... at last! Allira's still getting the red hands and feet, but much less often. Haven't booked into pead yet... I think it may just be something quirky her body does.
Am about to start a party plan type thing soon (hopefully). Just have to talk to the company owner, and get everything sent out and we're in business. It's all bath, beauty, baby and cleaning type stuff. Natural and organic products. VERY cheap.... I can't believe it can be sold so cheaply! I will start a FB page so that all my little interstaters and non locals can buy from me anytime.... so look out for the group invitation.
Anyway, that's enough blabber from me. Off to get a small amount of cleaning done then off to the IL's to cheer them all up.

nicky: our family doesnt do xmas which is handy (and cheap!) so i will probably just buy jade a few things over the year and put aside for xmas. i will prob get my mum a bottle of wine too for being such a great support to me this year.

Wow Nicky you are organised!! I am just going thru the catalogues today myself. I have to get Jemima a tricycle from her grand parents for her birthday, so I will be going to the sales tomorrow too. Very exciting all in all.
We are just getting over colds atm. Jemima has the worst cough!! It is waking her up from her sleep and making her really exhausted. This morning at 5 she was awake wanting her feed but couldn't suck because of her blocked nose. She eventually could suck after sitting up for awhile and then went back to sleep and stayed down till 9.30! which is unheard of for 6-8 months or more. So she is really tired. Today she went to sleep at 12 and the coughed herself awake 10mins later. Not good at all. Finally just got her back down, but only with a fight. Anyway I hope she stays down (touch wood).
I am feeling heaps better after a rough week with a cold, had a great time up in TV with my sister but it is nice to be back with my hubby. Anyway I must go and do some chores that Jemima won't be any help with.

We are really rubbish at all celebrations here, but we only have to buy for each other really as we don't buy for anyone overseas. When I was growing up was tradition to buy on Christmas Eve. No idea what we will get CJ - my mum and dad are going to ship over a box of Duplo lego, which includes a train set - the duplo was ours as kids. CJ is sick at moment, just a cold but means we can't go to footy tonight - I don't really know what to do with her when she is sick, she doesn't seem to want a cuddle but isn't happy on the floor, so she is set up with cushions and watching ABC2 - I figured I like to watch TV when am sick??
J - Are you moving far - not sure if you have mentioned and I have missed?

Jamie is now sleeping with the side of the cot off its going ok so far hes just teething and not going to sleep till late or napping its great fun not but it is a lot easier tucking him in at night

Nic: Love the "up" word of choice. Does he use it a lot because he wants you to pick him up? Phoebe's favourite word in the world appears to be "Boo!" as she takes every opportunity to cover her eyes and play the game with anyone who'll look twice at her. She doesn't say a whole lot else otherwise.
Nicky: I am so jealous that you are organised for Christmas already! I always have good intentions but never end up organised as early as I would like (i.e. I'm always still shopping the week before). In answer to your question, I have no idea of what Phoebe will be into at that stage. I can't remember what Natty was enamoured with (except television :rolleyes:). I think baby dolls and accessories are great. Phoebe also really likes anything that does something. I'm thinking something musical for her... Not sure. I've got birthdays to plan for around Christmas too - DH's 40th and Natty's 4th - plus we'll be up in Cooktown for all of it. So I think we'll do Christmas early with the family who won't be up there (my brother and his fam and the extended fam) and I might just give the girls their gifts then to save packing them!
Good luck with the party plan stuff. I will make sure I wade through the FB notifications I have atm and hunt down what you're selling. Oooooo, and Bridge, I hope you are still doing your backseat buddies cause there's a Christmas idea right there! I would like to support you girls and partake in your lovely goodies, so please keep inviting/hassling/reminding me to do so. My head isn't really with it these days.
Is your dad doing any better? Sorry if you've mentioned it and I've missed it... What's up with the IL's?
Emma: Yeah, I would imagine it'd be much cheaper not doing Christmas! LOL. But personally, I love it. I love the whole family thing and our family usually does Christmas pretty well. It's almost a bummer that we'll be up north this year - I will miss everyone else. But it'll be heaps fun to hang with my sister and I think Natty at least will have an absolute ball.
I was planning on making Irish Cream for gifts this year. I will have to get my act together early!
Bella: Hope you guys are feeling better? We have had colds here too. Natty is actually the worst affected atm which is weird. Re the blocked nose, will Jemima tolerate saline spray & aspiration? There's no way in hell Natty would've, but Phoebe is really great with it - almost enjoys it, LOL! I just hold her and try to talk in an up-beat way while I do it. It's very effective for her. I wish I could do it to Natty now actually as she point-blank refuses to blow her nose. It's gross.
Glad you had a good week away. Would've been better to have gone this week what with the weather being so fricking cold! I am dreaming of FNQ atm - the mornings are so damn chilly.
Jacinta: Wow, you're moving right along with this pregnancy! How exciting! Hope Jamie settles down with the new sleeping arrangements. It sucks when they don't settle til late, hey. Phoebe won't go down before 8:30 these days and it sucks because I am so tired I tend to fall into bed not long after her! DH and I don't really get any time together atm.
Vic: Sorry the job hunt isn't going well. I can empathise - I really don't enjoy looking for work either and had a horrible time of it. I hope something turns up soon.
Hope CJ is feeling better. My kids live on TV when they're sick too. I don't care - I just do whatever it takes to keep them happy. Duplo rocks!
I am having a bludgy time at work today just finishing off some bits and pieces, then having some time off - I'm having a whole week! Yay! Last week I had Tuesday off, the first one in 6 months, and got to catch up with my playgroup buddies. It was great. Am booking in for a hair cut and have to book in to the dentist too. I've also got to get stuck into our house - it is revolting. I cleaned Natty's windows on Sunday (remembered doing it when I was pregnant with Phoebs - that's how long ago it was!) because there was mould on her ceiling above the window. Eeeeeek.
Phoebe is still cruising, has taken a few steps on her own but isn't looking close to walking yet. She slept through the night a couple of times last week but is now back to waking once or twice. I keep thinking she might wean but then she falls in love with the boob again and on it goes. She's so boisterous and loud, she cracks me up. Natty has her lovely moments too - she is getting so much better/nicer with Phoebe and I still hold out hopes that they will be great mates. This morning Phoebe was complaining because I had to stop feeding her to go to work (she had been dawdling for about 20 minutes!) and Natty came and gave her the teddy she had been playing with. It totally did the trick and Natty just picked up another toy to play with and went on her merry way. I was amazed at her generosity and thanked her and went on about it for ages, LOL!

Amy - sounds like Natty and Phoebe are building a gorgeous bond - that's so sweet! i'm sure there are just as many moments of sibling rivalry, but those sweet moments outweigh them i'm sure! i'm with you on the Christmas thing - i love the magic and being able to spend some (hopefully) tension free time with the family! as much as we tend to think it would be good to run away and avoid it all, i'd miss it.
Jacinta - hope the move is smooth (and soon - can't imagine moving while heavily pregnant!)
Vic - looking for work sucks! i'm content in my job, but constantly on the look out for something for C. it's demoralising when you're constantly applying and getting no where (and with no feedback as to why!)
Bella - hope you're all feeling better and snot free! E will only let Daddy wipe her nose - everyone else gets a fight - no idea why! the nasal spray and aspiration thing is a no go here - E screams!!
AFU - i've been a bit - i dunno - withdrawn. posting random stuff on FB but struggling to formulate real thoughts. have upped my hours at work so i'm up at 5.30 (if E lets me sleep that late), out the door by half 6 and not getting home til 5.30-6 three days a week. E has managed to land herself a nasty cold after her 1 year old needles. sleep hasn't been good and once i've worked and spent time with E and cleaned up a bit here, i'm just too exhausted to put my thoughts together. we were supposed to be having photos taken today but there has been a little too much rain so that isn't happening. which i guess is a good thing today - a few more things we need to do before we can put the house on the market. hoping to move closer to work and take some of the financial strain of living out here off us. it's been a long and emotional few weeks making the decision to sell, but we're doing it. the estate agent is coming out today to take pics to put it up for sale. the outside (front yard) is looking damn good after i spent a lot of time pruning roses - but i'm so damn sore now!
anyhoot - got the call about cancelled photo session just as i got out of the shower to threw my jim jams on - best go and put some work clothes on and head out anf finish cleaning up. will be busy over the next few weeks i think - we're tossing up whether to finish painting before we sell. not much we can do with the paint once we move anyway...

Aw, BG, sorry to hear you have had to make such a difficult decision. That property has been in your family for a while, hasn't it? (I thought I read that somewhere.) I hope that after the turmoil of making the decision that you guys are peaceful about it. And after working such long days I can imagine that living closer to work will be such a relief.
Well done for getting your hands dirty! DH and Natty spent some time cleaning up our back yard (what little there is of it) on Sunday while I scrubbed the walls and P slept. It's amazing how much the yard can change in a small time... mind you, our main problem was Natty's toys etc hanging about the place getting rained on and REALLY dirty. I am hopeless at gardening so am pleased that DH does ours, albeit once in a blue moon.
Yeah, the rivalry between P & N sucks but you are right, moments like that are just so precious. The other night Natty was talking to Phoebe who was climbing up and down the stairs. I wish I had've recorded her voice, it was SO cute... "Careful Phoebe. Feet first Phoebe! Good girl! Aren't you clever?" etc. So funny, DH and I were snickering away on the lounge while we listened.

lucky me whenever the move does happen my mum is going to come and help so i'll probably be sitting around most of the time but i will be able to do some things and packing has already started somewhat so im not exactly worried im more worried about where we are going to live coz we wont know till we find out how much we are getting for the house lucky i have my mum if i need somewhere to stay i suppose not a lot of ppl can say that

yeah, the property has been in DH's family forever, so it's been a tough call to make. ultimately i left it up to him - we looked at the numbers that would go with staying here vs going and it is just a better option for us to move. hate that it's come to this, but if you've read any of my vent threads about his family (yes, we BOTH have messed up families!) i think it will be better for us to totally break free of this property and live our lives for US - without the constant interference (or fear they'll show up) - even though we'll likely live in the same town as his sister, we won't publicise our details - will have a silent number and a PO box so that no one can find us. mostly people contact our mobiles anyway - and i can screen on them! lol

I haven't been on here for a while so haven't seen other threads but I do recall you talking about the families and how difficult they are.
Good for you for making the break. Sounds like it's a good decision emotionally as well as financially.
