for ending of limboland, Yules!! Still think of you as Minimax ... ah!
J man isn't too unsettled at night - though two or three nights in the last week, he has taken a while to go down, or has woken up after going down, which is complete anomaly for him! I hope it doesn't last, because it makes it really hard for me to get up (at 6am) and go to work if I haven't had a proper sleep ...
ellie - for you too! we've got family up in Qld, and it's just devestating what's happening there and in NSW etc ... we're that there's not the double whammy this year of floods and fires, like the last couple of years ... I'm glad you're safe, though
everyone else hello!! I hope your Christmas and New Years were lovely, and that 2011 is just fab.
Soooooooooo ... what prezzies did you get? what are the plans for this year? are you thinking about your next bub? are you sick of people asking you these things?
Ellie glad to hear DH got home ok. The floods certainly are Huge & it will take a long time for people to recover. Thankfully our little corner in the South East has been untouched, but you never know what it ahead.
Peanutter, Alyssa has been more disturbed in her sleep but I think she is practising her new skills. Her favourite trick is to crawl backwards into a corner & then she is stuck. She hasn't worked out the going forward part yet! As far as pressies, my DH surprised me with 2 pairs of PJ's (badly needed). We don't usually buy each other pressies so that was nice. Alyssa got a ton including a blow up pool, teaset, pull along toy, purse, hair clips, dresses & more. As far as plans for the year, hopefully another bub ;-), but we will see. Nature will take care of that. And No, I'm not sick of people asking me these things, Ha Ha Ha!
Yules here's hoping the authorities hurry up with your paperwork. Government departments are useless with paperwork. It certainly makes things hard when you have 2 kids in tow & no "home" as such.
Self absorbed blab, sorry, tomorrow is my first day back to work. Am feeling sad, excited, tentative, like I'm doing the wrong thing by my beautiful girl. I want to cry but I can't, this was our choice afterall. My brain keeps reminding me of all the fabulous things she will learn in a "classroom" environment compared to what I can give her one on one. I know only time will tell if either of us are comfortable & I need to give it a few months. Secretly I'm hoping to fall preggers again sooner rather than later. It won't be worth me working 3 days a week with 2 kids in daycare, so then I'll be a SAHM.
On a positive albeit very different note, it would seem my dairy allergies may be gone. After a bout of Giardia (water based bacteria stomach bug thing) I became dairy intolerant, but I have just had a chunk of potato bake and seem to be fine so far an hour later (normally I would have reacted by now). I think it's been about 2 years since I was sick, so maybe my stomach has finally mended. It will certainly make life easier & I have missed so many yummy foods! Though I will probably stack on heaps of weight eating all that yummy food again.
I hope you are all going well & will speak to you soon. xo
Once again, I missed the change of threads and haven't been getting the updates in my subscriptions
Happy New Year!!!!
Carmelo was crazily spoilt by everyone (especially Daddy ) for Christmas, it was lovely after trying for over 8yrs to get another baby to finally spend Christmas with one
New Years Eve was spent at home with some family here, we just lazed New Years Day away in the pool with the kids... was perfect!
Carmelo is up to the stage where he is crawling backwards and round and round - rolling over and over everywhere but hasn't quite figured out how to move forward either! Lots of rocking back and forward on all fours, and lots of frustration! He moved his left leg forward yesterday as he reached out to get a toy, but didn't quite realise what he'd done! Look out when he does, though
Sitting up confidently on his own now, he hates laying down unless he's sleeping.
I also forgot how frustrating this age is while breastfeeding.... the busy baby that doesn't stop moving, prodding, pinching, hitting, hair pulling poor mummy!!! I love it though
He's now weighing 7.75kgs as of a few days ago... so not so much the premmie baby anymore!
Also saying Mum Mum and Dad Dad continuously is very cute also
Good friends of ours announced New Years Eve they're 8 weeks pregnant with their 2nd (1st is 18 months old) and I must admit I got extremely clucky!
DH & I have plans for us to try anywhere from Carmelo's 1st birthday... finances pending of course
A lovely email letting us know our IVF clinic fees for each cycle has now gone up to $7100 was not the greatest way to start the year, lol! Its ok though, Carmelo's cycle was $6500 in August 2009, so it was expected.
DS1 starts high school at a private school in a few weeks, so providing our finances can handle his humungous fees, an IVF cycle and me to continue not working, we'll try for bub #3 anywhere from June-December this year.
(Oh, and I still have 10kgs of IVF/baby weight to lose first as well!)
Holly good to hear from you. Sounds like Carmelo is doing great! IVF is so expensive (I remember those fees). We used to have a low interest credit card that we used till the refund came back from medicare then we'd pay off the difference. Not sure if Medicare still puts in much money though, I know they were thinking of dropping it. June will be here in no time for you.
AFM - work is like I never left & daycare is going well so far. It's only been 2 days but already Alyssa was much more settled today than Wednesday. They had her in one of those motorised swings today when I got there. She looked like such a zombie all zoned out. I've stuck to half days this week & will go back to full days next week. I did have a few tears when I left her there yesterday, but I am very comfortable thus far with the centre we chose so that helps me relax. I'm finding major organisation is the key to getting out the door by 715am each day.
Not much else going on. Hope you are all doing well and ready for yet another weekend! xo
Hey everone, seems like ages since I have been on BB!!
Just a quick question, for mums still breastfeeding.... Lately Zarlen is really fidgety when he is feeding, keeps pulling off, trying to sit up, kicking his legs and seems to be getting bored... I dont know how many feeds per day he should be having but atm he is only having about 3-4 from when he wakes up in the morning until bedtime, is this normal for almost 8months?! Then overnight he has 1 feed close to 6am. He is also eating solids for breakfast lunch & dinner. Even when he has those breastfeeds feeds, he is only at the breast drinking for a few mins each side so Im not sure if he is getting enough. Does this sound like he may be weaning himself? Maybe Im just reading too much into it, I dunno. Also feels like I dont have as much milk as I used to. Im kinda sad about it cos I was hoping to feed for a bit longer, even though I need to stop in a few months if we want to start ttc again. I probs should put this post in the breastfeeding forum to get more response hey =)
In other news he is now army crawling, and has cut his first tooth, and it all happened on the very same day!
Well done Zarlen!! What a clever monkey with teeth & crawling on one day.
Hope everyone is well. We continue to watch the flood waters move closer to our corner of Qld. I don't think we will be affected directly, ie here at home, but certainly some family might. It is such an awful mess. Speak soon xo.
