Holly good to hear from you. Sounds like Carmelo is doing great! IVF is so expensive (I remember those fees). We used to have a low interest credit card that we used till the refund came back from medicare then we'd pay off the difference. Not sure if Medicare still puts in much money though, I know they were thinking of dropping it. June will be here in no time for you.
AFM - work is like I never left & daycare is going well so far. It's only been 2 days but already Alyssa was much more settled today than Wednesday. They had her in one of those motorised swings today when I got there. She looked like such a zombie all zoned out. I've stuck to half days this week & will go back to full days next week. I did have a few tears when I left her there yesterday, but I am very comfortable thus far with the centre we chose so that helps me relax. I'm finding major organisation is the key to getting out the door by 715am each day.

Hey everone, seems like ages since I have been on BB!!
Just a quick question, for mums still breastfeeding.... Lately Zarlen is really fidgety when he is feeding, keeps pulling off, trying to sit up, kicking his legs and seems to be getting bored... I dont know how many feeds per day he should be having but atm he is only having about 3-4 from when he wakes up in the morning until bedtime, is this normal for almost 8months?! Then overnight he has 1 feed close to 6am. He is also eating solids for breakfast lunch & dinner. Even when he has those breastfeeds feeds, he is only at the breast drinking for a few mins each side so Im not sure if he is getting enough. Does this sound like he may be weaning himself? Maybe Im just reading too much into it, I dunno. Also feels like I dont have as much milk as I used to. Im kinda sad about it cos I was hoping to feed for a bit longer, even though I need to stop in a few months if we want to start ttc again. I probs should put this post in the breastfeeding forum to get more response hey =)
In other news he is now army crawling, and has cut his first tooth, and it all happened on the very same day!

OK So my child is odd....she doesn't want to move around the 'conventional' way....has chosen to bum scoot instead! At the moment she is over near a door, nowhere near where I put her, with a trail of raisin toast trailing behind her! Cute!
Anyone else *think* their LO might be teething? I think it takes about 4 weeks from the first sign to when the first tooth pops and I think Darcie is in the midst of it....she bites me so hard! We also have A LOT of babble going on too....bababa, dadaa, mamamam, nanananan...so cute! Just like her Mother
Catching up with MIL today, hopefully will get some nice pics. Going to look at a house too....why not! Still in Limboland. Starting to wonder if this is where I'll stay! Our stuff is in the UK already, just patiently waiting for us to arrive! Including ALL Max's toys....Gah!
Yules - hang in there hun! Is hubby in Jersey already or is he still in Perth with you? Can playdate next week if you like? Poss Thurs? James will be home so bring Max and they can run amok in the playroom! Cute on Darcie doing the bum shuffle! My sisters friends kid did this, never crawled, just bum shuffled everywhere! Was super cute to watch!

Ellie - a bit late, but also glad your DH got home safely!
AFM - Logan is sitting up heaps and loving it, not crawling or anywhere near close I don't think but he has rolling down to a fine art!!! He'll look at what he wants to get to, head down and roll, anywhere up to about 6 rolls in a row superfast, flip onto his tummy, lift up on his arms, have a look around to see if he's close, if he needs to change direction he'll spin around using his arms, line up the toy again, and it's head down and more rolling!!! Very funny to watch and very effective!!!! Teeth - I thought there might be one coming with a massive lump on his bottom gum but it's decided not to make an appearance.... We're not getting a great deal of babbling, lots of 'ga', 'ba', and 'bwa' but no 'mumum' or 'dadada' or 'nanan', but my god can my child hiss!!! Seriously, he sounds like a cat!!!! If he's excited or happy watch out!!! hahaha!! He'll hiss at us, his favourite toy, his brother, the animals and god help him if he sees James' big Buzz Lightyear he got for Chrissy... the arms flap and the hissing starts until Buzz can't be seen anymore!!! It's actually quite handy for when I want a shower, I just put Logan in his highchair, give James Buzz and the remote and I'm good for at least 10minutes!!!!!!!
Anyway, better go, we have Playgroup this morning. Hope you ladies all have a great day!!!
YAY Peta! Good Job Alyssa Darcie is still arm flapping and throwing herself forward onto her arms from sitting, then getting her legs stuck under her and just getting frustrated she can't move...she'll get there. She's trying to pull herself up to standing! She's desperate! So unlike Relaxy Maxy!
Yules won't be long for Darcie. No doubt she wants to get up & play with Max instead of sitting on the sidelines.
Not much to tell here. Alyssa is definitely alot more active, but still not really sleeping in the day time. Even at daycare they can't get her to sleep. I'm not too worried, she still sleeps a good 10hrs at night & is generally happy during the day, so all is well. The little bugger seems to want to be upright more so than crawling. She is pulling herself up on the furniture (and having plenty of stacks on the way to trying) and then starting to "cruise' around it. If she is anything like I was apparently I walked at 8.5mths after crawling for only about a week. I think the fact all the others at daycare are older & walking might be "helping" her bid.
Daycare / Work are going well. It is a nice mix to only work 3 days a week, though I do feel a bit left out & not 100% sure of my place at work now. I had my review last week and the Partners actually asked me what my role was now I was back & what days/hours I would be working. Which was weird but nice at the same time too. I feel like a bit of an intruder sometimes there, but I guess that will change. My No. priority is my little girl so work will become a background thing I think.

Hi ladies........I was wondering if I could join in your group? I am about to become a mumma to a 7 month old baby girl (adoption). From just me & DH, to a family of 3 in a week. You wait forever (years + years) for it to happen and then all of sudden it does!
it's so funny how out bubbas are all at such different stages!!
Joshie is crawling a fair bit, and so we have him in a play pen for most of his play time. we just sometimes get in there with him, and let him crawl on and cuddle us, too!
He puts everything in his mouth.
He eats all sorts of different things ... avacado, meat, mashed potato, vegimite on bread, cruskits, fruit and cooked tomato are probably his favourite things. But boobie juice still wins gold!
no teeth - for which my nipples are glad ... but he (for months now) has favoured chewing things with his back molars, so I wonder whether they will be the first to appear anyway ... time will tell!!
and he's not a fan of sitting. he almost never pulls himself into a sitting position, and when there, he won't stay there for more than a few seconds, then he's off and away again ... he'll crawl and then recline, and then crawl and roll and recline, etc ....
lots of babbling, but nothing we'd call words just yet. all the "mamama" and "bababa" he does aren't really connected to any meaning yet, I don't think ... there's loads of time, though
what a rollercoaster ... I've got friends who have been on the TTC / assisted / IVF / adoption rollercoaster for years, and I am so pleased to see that it actually works sometimes!!

I'm peanutter, I'm a first time mum to J man, who is almost 8 months old, and keeps me on my toes! He's just starting to crawl (has been rolling and crawling backwards for a while though!) and he is a delight. He babbles a lot, with lots of "bububub" and "mamamah" but we don't think he's really talking, because we don't think he's attributing any meaning just yet ... but he's getting there! He also adores going to the pool, and having baths, and any kind of music. He doesn't have any teeth (YAY! Since I'm breastfeeding....) and we're doing baby led weaning ... his favourite foods are avacado, meat, pasta and vegimite on bread. DH and I have never had a baby before, but used to foster teenagers for a few years, before TTC. I work full time, and my DH is a full time dad, part time study-mogul doing uni by correspondence. I've had a rough few months post birth due to a severe injury from the birth, but it looks like my surgery has been successful, and we're praying that I'll be all better and pain free soon. I like singing and dancing (though not lately, due to ouchies) and reading and having people over for a meal/drink/games/singstar/general shenanigans.

Big WELCOME to Lil chookie. How very exciting. As per Peanutters great idea, in a nutshell:
DH & I took 6 years to concieve our little girl. During this time, we did IVF & also were on the adoption rollercoaster for 2 years having just completed our final interviews when we found out we were 10wks preggers. Alyssa is 8mths and has just started crawling, but seems very keen to get upright and keeps pulling herself up on things. We are on the Sunshine Coast in Qld. I work 3 days a week as Practice Manager for an Accounting firm. Alyssa goes to daycare those three days as DH also works FT. I would so much love to share your storey. It certainly makes me happy to hear that adoption does work for some lucky people. I can't say I was too thrilled about the whole procedure, but I understand why they do what they do.

I'm Yules I am second time Mumma to Darcie, EST 27/5/2010. I am a stay at home Mum currently living in Limboland (aka Perth) about to move to Jersey in the Channel Islands in the UK. We just finished an (almost) 2 year stint in Singapore.
Darcie is trying REALLYYY hard to crawl and stand, but is more just frustrated that she can't quite get it ATM. She doesn't have any teeth yet....and squeels the house down with her sounds. She can now clap when we ask her to 'clap hands' and rocks back and forth and sings to music (CUTE). She is a crap sleeper...mainly due to the fact that she always wants to be part of the action, and her big Brother Max always wakes her up.
She loves food...a mixture of BLS and puree and we co-sleep. She loves boobie and her favourite person in the whole world is her brother.....but he just thinks she's 'too noisy'
I'm Sharon, I have an older ds1 (5yrs last Oct), and Logan who is 8mts.
Logan is our little treasure, full of smiles and fun! No crawling, but he could roll for Australia!!!! He's lightning fast! No teeth here yet either. Loves to 'stand' with us holding him and has perfected the 'arm flap' down to a fine art! For some reason he has the innate ability to hiss like a cat... this accompanied by his arm flap is a very funny sight!
He also loves his food, we're doing the same as Yules, a mix of BLS and puree. He's a boob man, until it hits 7pm then it's a bottle of house white all the way from dad!
Yules - thanks, girlfriend!! I wish I knew who RAK’ed me ... I know part of the point is not to know, but I still wonder ... was it you? (answer not expected...) and yes, my avvy is done, I’m just waiting for it to show up soon ... very exciting! we’re still sussing out our options re the injury, and will make a decision and follow up with whatever course of action we choose soon ... very heavy, emotional, unpleasant stuff ... As for you, any routine sussed out yet? How are the kidlets coping with the move? Jetlag? I hope Darcie starts sleeping more heavily soon (hey – is Darcie Elizabeth a Pride & Prejudice reference? Ie: Elizabeth D’Arcy [nee Bennett]?). And FX that teething goes well, and she doesn’t bit your boobies! Ouch ... And yay for responsiveness to requests for cuddles and kisses, and waving, etc ... and mega yay for her and Max getting along well
Peta – I’m glad that Alyssa is doing ok with daycare, though I’m sorry to hear the drop offs are still rough ... hopefully they’ll be smoother and more pleasant for you soon! Nice of the ladies to call you and let you know she was ok, though I hope you’re able to enjoy work ... it makes such a difference, having grown up conversations again!! And such a different pace and part of the brain and energy being used, compared to being at home ... I think you’d have to have such good boundaries to make working part time work for you – hats off! Not sure that I could do it ...
Doodle – you’re naked! Boo. I hope someone RAKs you off good and proper soon. Funny about the teething – J-man chomps on the back molars loads, so I wonder whether his will be back to front too ... time will tell!! I hope you’re otherwise well, and enjoying lots of cuddles and slobbery kisses. Re my avvy – as much as I do love the muppets (and as much as I may act like one sometimes ) I’ve selected one that looks a bit more like me IRL ... you shouldn’t have to wait much longer to see it And with eating, J-man just eats what we do, too ... egg, strawberry, curry, fish, whatever. Kids are resilient With sleep, J-man still usually has 3 naps a day, but some days, they’re pretty short and he’ll crack it after being down for 30 mins, and DH just has to get him back up and let him play more (or play with him/hold him). But he does well mostly. And overnight he’ll sleep from around 7pm until 6-7am
Holly – I hope you’ve been able to catch up on some sleep since your last posts!!! And I hope the teething has settled down, and that the rest of them don’t give him anywhere near as much trouble ... J-man also is a star rassberry blower!! Particularly when we’re in the pool ... just adorable!!
Sunshine - :wave: how’s the sleeping etc going now? Improvement? Hang in there, rock star. Lots of love xo
