Jleigh - welcome to world of runners :D A has been once since she took her first steps but amazingly she is getting a little better and will now hold my hand for a little bit, I have got one of those backpacks but have only used it at the zoo a couple of times, mostly it's never too busy when we go so I just let her wander around.

Not much going on here, this time next month we will be in Bali YAY getting excited now that everything is organised & everyone is happy.....we have hired a Villa to share with my MIL her BF and BIL & his GF. MIL is looking after the grandkids to give the newlyweds a honeymoon, one is A's age and the other nearly 4.

Have decided I might try and start to TT A once we get back, I have no idea where to start but luckily we've got hard floors in majority of the house and will keep the doors shut to the rooms with carpet lol.

Was reading the "todays" post area this morning and Mzcatie who was in our BB group, had a stillborn son last month..........so so sad :(

:( Thats very sad news about Mzcatie......thoughts are with her :(

Not much going on here either of late, except my oldest is turning 14 next week....so thats kinda scary (coz I feel so old) lol..........

E is doing really well, he is teething atm, however, you wouldn't really know it..he's been so good with these recent teeth....

Yay for Bali Phoenix - how exciting, I have never been out of the country - would love to go to NZ one day.....it just looks so beautiful :)

ohh thats so sad about a stillborn i feel sorry for her, my aunty had a stillborn to was so hard for her, i dont member Mzcatie though,

how many teeth does everyones bubs have, you keep talking about teething at times, i thought that was it now till they are about 2, scarlet has 16 teeth total so far, then next ones are the other back molar type ones,

the weather here has been very windy and hot, then cold, and rainy, then stormy, i hate to think what summer is going to be like :(

Phoenix - yay for a Bali holiday, sounds great! Do you get MIL to babysit for you too???

I did a fair bit of reading about TT cos lots of people started asking me when B was going to start when he turned one (:o older people, lol) and everything I read basically agreed that if you wait 'til they're ready, it should take about a week. If it takes longer, they're not ready and it can stress them and give them issues (like constipation cos they will hold on) to push it. Some signs of readiness include being able to say 'poo' and 'wee' (or whatever you call it), knowing when they want to go/being able to tell you when they've just gone, being able to take off/put on undies. Some also suggested being able to get on/off the potty or toilet and responding to stickers (or whatever) for motivation also. They suggest around 2 1/2-3 years. I think B will be a good while before he's ready.... which is good because I wouldn't have the foggiest clue as to how to do it, even after all that reading! :redface:

Traylee - B has 14 teeth - two more have just come through. I think there's 20 baby teeth in total, so S sounds like she's nearly done!

yea i agree on toilet training, im hoping scarlet is as easy at hayley, i tried with hayley around 18 months but thought she wasnt to ready so didnt force anything, but a bit before her 2nd bday she didnt wanna wear nappies anymore so i didnt push and she got it within a week or less, and that way day and night, we gave her a torch to go to bed with incase she woke needing to go, but she didnt, the only time she ever had a mild accident was when she was sick and it wasnt wee lmao, im gonna let scarlet run around in just knickers much as possible during xmas holidays but only cause most will be outside cause its hot or we be at beach anyways, i didnt wanna leave it till may when its cold cause winter is worst time to try i reckon cause you actuall wee more in the cold and u gotta keep them rugged up to be warm so to much clothing to come off in a hurry

nnaww im so sad my friend who has had lots of ivf, lost 3 babies very early, then she got one little girl who is now, about 20 months old, she had ivf again 20 weeks ago, and she messaged me today saying she lost it and is in hospital waiting for contractions and has to have a proper labour, and birth and stuff, its so devasting, it puts me off having more kiddies, does that sound selfish , i dont wanna seem rude or selfish but lately people are losing babies all around and i just wouldnt cope or deal with it, i mean as far as im aware i have never even had a misscarriage and that would upset me, i am happy for the 2 little girls i have and its just such a worrying process, and i was always worried about scarlet i had high fluid and she was born with lots of crap in her lungs and im so thankful i have her and hayley i really am, i just am so upset by everyone losing there babies, it was 10yrs ago my aunty had a stillborn at 37 weeks :(, and 3 yrs ago my cousin 21 lost her tubes to ectopic pregnancy and the hospital stuffed up, her only way to have a child was ivf also, she now has a little 5 month old baby boy. :( its just a sad day sorry for venting on here i had no one to talk to about how i feel

Aww Traylee, its ok, I understand what you are feeling, being pregnant is very scary, and I really feel for your friend, the loss of a baby is so very sad, regardless of how early/late into the pregnancy. I have been pregnant 13 times, and losing your baby at 5 weeks, or 13 weeks does not make it any less heart breaking, I spent many nights crying myself to sleep....and no one can help make you feel better, not even your partner because you blame yourself and your body for not doing its job properly....only time will heal, and even then, I have days where I think about it still and get upset....but falling pregnant is exciting and very scary - if you do decide to have any more then it'll be a blessing. I hope one day to have 1 more (won't be for a long time tho) but if I don't, I'm happy with the gorgeous boys that I have, and am very thankful I do have them.....

Traylee - Hope you're feeling better and more positive too. :hug: The doll looks cute too - can just imagine the sounds it makes!

wow it's been really really really quiet in here - where is everyone lol

Well Bali holiday is out of the way........little miss was a bit of a pain on the way over but was a trooper on the actual holiday being dragged around the place for first few days before we finally got to Villa and were semi settled for a week.

She has also self weaned in the past week, I was ready as feeding wasn't that enjoyable anymore even though it was only one feed at night she was getting to be a pain with pinching and wriggling.......she still likes her mummy cuddes before bed and I honestly prefer them to how our feeds were the last couple of weeks.

So is anyone planning on the next one? We're goin to start trying next year some time, though the way A has been the past few weeks with attitude and tantrums I keep saying she's destined to be an only child lol

We have been trying for 7 months now, doc thinks Im diabetic on top of my sheehans syndrome, so long road ahead :(

We've been trying for 6 months now. Not obsessively like last time, but doing a bit of basic charting.

Trish - What's Sheehans syndrome? Do you need insulin for the diabetes? No fair!

Phoenix - I think everyone FB's now (except me)! Bali sounds great. A sounds like she's hitting the 'terrible two's', lol!

AFM - B still isn't talking much that we can understand, but manages the odd word when he wants to ('avo' when he wanted some this arvo and he learned 'chocolate' in about 10 seconds flat the first time he tasted some a few weeks ago, and says it whenever he thinks it's worth a try asking - no, he doesn't get any, lol!). He communicates with gestures really well though, and we rarely have problems understanding. He's been a bit fussy with his food atm, not eating much. And teeth cleaning..... grrrrr! More a battle, complete with tanty and tears :(

Basically I lost so much blood with DD, that my body started dying, and my pituitary gland is damaged, causing a hormonal imbalance. Not much fun at all! Fingers crossed I can control with diet, as Im making insulin, but my body doesnt process it (I think)

And thy ALWAYS learn the worst words first haha. We stopped at the shops this morning and DD said "yay, chippies!" Hmmm I think we have too many treats haha.
DD is talking lots, but then we are a very vocal family :))

Trish wow you've had a hard time post birth, hoping it's not too long till your next BFP and yes they chose the best times to come out with things lol. A is obsessed with stubbies ie Beer and always tries to take DH's so he's been telling her no it's Daddy's Beer, not for A.......so of course Beer is her new favourite word and will happily point and say it if she sees them no matter where we are - lol.

Jleigh - I'm not on any birthcontrol but we aren't trying either, we wanted to get Bali out of the way. I've never charted but know when I ovulate because I get terrible pains & cramping - to the point it hurts to walk & needing hot packs, it only lasts a few hours so not sure if that's entirely normal or if I should get it checked out but I got pregnant pretty much straight away with A so being the sook I am will wait and see once we do decide on TTC.

Well I thought A could talk but her cousin who is a week older OMG, she talks in sentences clearly and not just 3 or 4 word ones, sings nursery rhymes by heart.........she has an older sister to learn from but wow so I suppose just shows how different they all are, it was good to see her and A playing together, they mostly spoke in their jibberish to each other and understood each other, pity they leave so far apart :(

Hi Everyone,

E has started talking (kind of) lol, says a few words, but mostly doesn't talk, I think he's lazy lol. He just started waving again, and does say ta. I'm not rushing him, he will talk when he's ready - and quite frankly I know when he does, he won't stop lol.

We have been rather quiet here, not doing much, but next week is the last week of school, so the holidays start, which will be nice, I won't have to get up and get the older ones off to school for a few weeks. But the boredom will set in within a few days I'm sure lol.

We are having a nice family Christmas - we havent celebrated it for a few years due to religious family members and we have moved just before Christmas the past 2 years, so it'll be nice to have a normal Christmas and have a great day. We are doing a family Christmas dinner, and a special one on Christmas eve, so we are doing 2 dinners. I will be kid free over New Years weekend (woo hoo) and might be going to Mooloolaba for the entire weekend on a luxury boat :) kinda exciting, so hopefully that happens :)

Elijah is sleeping thru the night again (after teething and sickness) so thats very nice :) I quite like sleeping in my bed alone :)

Ok well I got washing to do, and a house to clean so I will catch up with all you guys later on :)

Sleepy - Mooloolaba is 5 mins from us, but we'll be in Melbourne for New Year's :( Christmas sounds like it will be nice and special for you all.

Phoenix - Ouch to those O pains! DS' have word is still 'nut' and today he put two words together for the first time. Wait for it..... 'pine nut'! lol Oh well. He's obsessed with all things Christmas atm, loves our tree and decos and walks around with his Rudolph toy, pointing to is red nose and humming Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer then asking us to sing it or play it on CD for him. Mummy (and Daddy) are very quickly getting sick of it! He's even managed to say "Rudolph", such is his need to hear the song (cos Mummy was pretending not to know what all his pointing meant so she didn't have to sing it anymore!)

We've checked out a few websites with Christmas songs and videos to go with them and DS has loved them. He likes Frosty the Snowman and Little Drummer Boy. And Jingle Bells.

Trish - Wow, that all sounds serious. Can it be cured/go away or are you stuck with it?

jleigh, Its not curable, but manageable with medication for the rest of my life. so close to giving up on TTC for now. Need a holiday in a big way!

Awww, Trish, I feel for you. Hang in there and don't give up on ttc. Are you in a ttc forum? The girls there are sooooo supportive and will help you through.

Well we've finally taken the steps at looked at a couple of childcare centres to start A in two days a week next year and I really don't think she is going to have any troubles adjusting at all and actually think she is going to love it. She took off and joined in with the other kids at both places, at one we left her playing while we went and looked at the rest of centre and she didn't care........actually we had to drag her away , think mummy is going to be the one who needs time adjusting lol. Just want to look at one more if it does have vacancies before we make a decision but at the moment leaning towards a commmunity run one compared to a private one.

Phoenix - I have a meeting with a lady next week for two days a week for DS next year too. I got off the phone to her yesterday and she sounds lovely....but I still burst into tears, lol! It's gonna be a big step for both of us and I'm not sure DS will adjust as well as A! I'd like the work, DS needs the socialisation so it definitely has it's benefits, but it's still hard to think about.

Trish - I've been hanging in the 6month + forum and it's great! (Yes, we've been *quietly* ttc for 6 months now)

it sucks! 7 months trying now and 3 of my mummy friends have ACCIDENTLY fallen pregnant, one didnt even have her cycle back, and her DH is FIFO, yet she has a belly bub!

It really does, doesn't it! Pretty much everyone in my mum's group is trying again, and, pretty much everyone in mum's group is pregnant again! *sigh*

I just hate that noone is trying, yet falls pregnant. What have I done to deserve such difficulty!

Trish - Congrats!!!! When is no2 due? Wow our first "next" baby :D

We are doing well here, A is getting cheekier everyday and starting to really test the boundaries - ahhhh the joys of a toddler lol but she is so much fun I really wish there was a pause button. We had some sleep issues for about a month, where at night she would not settle if I put her to bed she was just scream hysterically with me going in on and off for about an hour and in the end DH would have to go in but if DH did bedtime she would go down without so much of a peep in about 2mins. For 3 nights now I've succeeded with only last night me having to go back in and do a resettle so hopefully we are back on track........I hope so anyway coz DH is away for work for a week on Monday.

We have our orientation for childcare next tues and thurs for an hour each time then she starts the following week on Tuesdays & Thursdays full days. I'm getting a little nervous at the thought but think she will really benefit from it.

A has just cut her last eye tooth, now just to get the last lot of toddler molars out the way (not that I can see any movement) and then that should be it for teething until she is around 4 but what am I going to blame her snotty behaviour on now lol.

Hi Phoenix! A sounds like a typical, cheeky, lots-of-fun toddler!! ;) DS is the same - but soooooo much fun too! Let me know how A goes with daycare cos DS is booked to start two days a week at FDC soon! We will have a couple of playdates first and then a couple of shorter days before he does the full 8 hours. I am trying to only think of how good it will be for him and not feel guilty about sending him or how much I will miss him!

FWIW, DS will ONLY go down for naps and sleeps with DH when he's around. I was absolutely packing it when DH had to go away for a bit, but it wasn't an issue at all. If DH isn't around, he'll happily sleep for me, but if DH is home, it HAS to be DH to put him down! We had about two weeks of 30 seconds of grizzle before naps just before Christmas, but that's stopped now.

DS had his first plane trip - we've just come back from a week in Melbourne. He LOVED it and spent heaps of time before and after zooming around with his arms out making plane noises, lol! He also learned to say tram and train while we were there, seeing as he saw them every day!

Im due in August, around the 20th :)
we are also having issues with 'boundary testing' not good when I have morning sickness too!

hi all such a long time since i been in here just wanted to pop in and say hi and hope everyone is travelling along ok

all going along ok here in our household may is such a little character alot different to the rest of them she has a personality of her own and knows how to stand her ground and even trys to take on her older siblings lol.

i think we only have about 3 teeth left to cut thank goodness.
how are all your little ones sleeping? still in cot? or bed?
may sleeps ok she has never been the best sleeper but she is alot better now.
we do have the bed all set up in the girls room but havent yet moved her in there kinda waiting for the right time if that ever comes i think she is ready but not sure if we are yet lol

Hi Caplaylolmay - great to hear your LO is doing to well, they certainly do have there little personalities now - I've got a fiesty one too lol

Well A has started childcare two days a week and think it was a lot harder on me that it was on her, the first day she never shed a tear until I went to pick her up and when she saw me she burst into tears but that only lasted a few seconds, day two was better and I got a big hello after she pulled herself away from the toys lol.

When I went to pick her up the first afternoon, I walked in to find her sitting snuggling on her carers lap, so was reassuring to know that they do get the cuddles and attention when they need it which helped with the mummy guilts but I still miss having her under my feet all the time.

We have all our eye teeth and now just waiting for the 2 year old molars then teething should be over YAY!! A is still in her cot I keep saying we will take the sides off but that will truly be the end of my little baby plus I like the fact I put her to bed and she stays there :D

Caplaylolmay - Good to hear from you! Yep, they are all showing their little personalities now, aren't they? So nice to see!

DS is still in his cot. Like Phoenix, I love the fact that when he's in, he's in - not looking forward to the time when he can get out of his own free will! We'll leave it as long as we can! He has all his teeth apart from those 2 yo molars, and no sign of those yet (thank goodness!)

DS was showing some interest in sitting on the toilet a little while ago, but that seems to have died again! I bought a step ladder thingy with a seat on it and it's all sitting next to the loo so that if the urge does take him, it'll be all ready to go! He just doesn't seem ready yet though...

DS had his first day at family daycare today. (Phoenix, thanks for your reassuring words :) Much appreciated). He went in fine, no tears at all. He just stayed til lunchtime and has come home for his nap. We'll see how he goes tomorrow having a nap there, but his carer is lovely and he's already said he wants to go back!

Phoenix - So glad A enjoyed her first week at care. It's lovely to hear she gets her snuggles there too - DS loves to be held and cuddled too.

no troubles teething here, but just starting on working on getting Miss E into her own room and bed/cot, as its never been used, as with bellyfruit on the way I want my rest!

not much to report here, A is settling into childcare. We had one day she was miserable and I had to go get her early but then she had diahrea (sp) that night so not sure if she just wasn't feeling off. I get the guilty tears on drop off and pick up but told and witnessed they only last about 20 secs and then she's fine the rest of the day.

we are talking about ttc#2 which might start in next month or two, I've still got to get my head around it before I agree lol

Phoenix - So, any more news on #2 yet? How is your DD at daycare now?

Trish - How are you going getting DD into the cot?! How's the preg going?

AFM - DS is loving family daycare. We've never had any tears and most days I barely get a hug! His confidence is improving too, though he's still a clingy little thing and I do feel envious of all those other mummies who can actually do stuff while their LO's are around. If DS isn't there right next to me (and usually deciding half way through that he's had enough), then I can't do it. :roll eyes: So, everything has to wait until he's asleep. He won't go into another room unless he's holding one of our hands, and will race after us if we dare to leave the room (e.g. to check the veges on the stove or take the washing out of the dryer, both still within sight!).

He's home sick from daycare today, just a virus, but he's had a temp and isn't eating much. And even more clingy than usual :dance:

Still no progress on toilet training, a couple of new words, but they don't have the right beginning or ending sounds. He's starting to string a few 'words' together, so will say 'mumma, bubba (what he calls himself), eee-awww' which means Mummy and DS are on the see-saw etc

Hi Lila - welcome to our quiet little page :D I have a DD who will be 2 on the 22nd April, I hang out in here because this was my belly buddy group by my DD was a little impaitent

Jleigh - happy to here B has settled in daycare and that you are seeing improvements in his clingyness and confidence.

Wow can't believe my little girl is going to be 2 in just over a month, WHERE has the time gone!! Toilet training is hit and miss but I'm going to make a real effort this week since on the weekend she has to go to the toilet and actually did a wee. I have spoken with childcare and they have told me that once she gets through most of the day dry I can start sending her in just nickers :)

She has finally settled in childcare and there are no tears on drop off, today she actually wanted to walk the whole way from car and into her room by herself and I had to ask for a hug and a kiss goodbye because she was too interested in getting her sunscreen on so she could go outside lol.

Talking - she is a parrot and will copy EVERYTHING you say but in saying that she can say hippopotomus but has only just starting saying yes in the past two days, well Yeh lol.

I'm lucky she's pretty easy going and is happy to be left on her own, I can shower without worrying about her she will generally sit on her chair watching playschool or come into the bathroom and give me a running commentary holding my towel ready for me to get out. They are just so cute at this age.

This month we are starting TTC#2 and I'm in my TWW, I'm just taking the whatever happens approach as we have to travel interstate and overseas for 4 weddings this year starting next month.

no luck with the cot yet, she'll play in there but wont sleep.

AFM - DS has started saying a lot more words. In fact, there's rarely a quiet moment anymore, lol! Sooooo cute though. And he's putting words together too, which is exciting.

We're all geared up for Easter and have been making biscuits, pictures, play dough bunnies and eggs, coloured eggs, an easter bunny out of a plastic plate and napkins etc and easter baskets too! DS is at such a gorgeous age where he gets right into the spirit of stuff and he's VERY excited about the Easter Bunny coming and hiding some easter gifts for him while he's asleep tonight! Hope everyone else has a great Easter weekend.

Hi again ladies!

Thought I would pop back in and introduce myself properly and tell you all about my DD. I have read your latest posts and have found myself nodding my head as all the stories sound familiar!!

Our lovely DD was born 1st May 2010 (Phoenix76 she was actually due 22 April!!), so is almost 2. She has been a very cruisy, happy little baby so far.... but I can feel the terrible twos knocking on the door!
We have moved her from a cot into a toddler bed in the last couple of weeks, its so cute to see her see her climbing in and out and sleeping in her own little bed, she looks so grown up! Wake up time is so nice now, she used to just lay in bed and cry when she woke up but now she just gets herself out of bed and comes into our room and says 'found you'! So lovely!

We are thinking of toilet training after she turns 2, she is showing some signs of being ready for toilet training - talks about doing wees and will sit on the toilet, but hasnt quite got the idea of what to do on there just yet! Wouldnt it be nice if they were just born toilet trained? Save a lot of money on nappies!!

Well, thats us in a nutshell! We are trying for baby #2 this month so will keep you all posted!
