Phoenix - A is a little chatterbox! Phoebe says a few words, mum, dad, ana (Tiana), cat, grandma, grandad, ky ky (aunty kylie), shower. That's all I can think of. She seems to talk more when Tiana isn't around lol. Can't get a word in when she is!

Sleepy - Good luck with the weight loss, I need to do something but I am too lazy... I have a x-trainer in my room being used as a clothes rack, lol

Jleigh - I will be in jeans, but no idea what else. I have a green strider dlx though. That is pretty easily noticed and 2 blonde girls. Look for the nosiest girl around and you should have found Tiana :)

Thanks ladies for a fun meet up today. B enjoyed his first 'disco' and all those balls to suck on and play with! Of course he came straight home and went for his soccer balls! Your little ones are all so cute, easygoing and happy (including T, Marni :)). I haven't checked my pics yet, but hope you guys got some good ones. We also had a great day today. E fell asleep as soon a my car started moving :D he was exhausted :) so he had an awesome day. We both did, it was lovely to meet Marni and JLeigh - and your bubs are gorgeous - we really should ahve done it much sooner :) but was great to finally meet.

E is in bed now (7.30pm) but was so tired he has been in bed since just before 7...we really should do thatmore often - it wares them out...lol

Marni - I hope Phoebe's little egg on her head is ok :) poor bub, she did really well for a bub who is sick - and Tiana was an angel too, I really wished I had brought Cooper - I told him next time I will bring him to meet her :)

We had a great time too!! We should have done it sooner! Phoebe went to bed early but kept getting temps from midnight on so we had a restless night but she seems better today :) Her egg is ok, nasty bruise with it but she has one generally once a week lol!

It was really nice to meet all of you and your bubs, I feel as though I kinda 'know' you all so it was good to actually put faces to names (and fb accounts)

Hahah Marni - I know what you mean by feeling like you ;know' us - I felt the same way - when Tina and I met it was like we alredy knew each other, and seeing you guys yesterday was like the same...weird but was great meeting you and JLeigh! (finally)

E had a great night sleep - I didn't get up til 8.30ish, so that was a nice change to the 7am I usually do with school and stuff...

Well, another day, another layer of clothes here! So glad we have ducted air con (though I don't want to think about the power bill or the environment! :redface:).

B is still in bed, which is normal for him, but it's the first day in a week he hasn't woken at exactly 4:40am and grizzled and moaned for an hour, so yaaaaay for a little sleep in! I have been thinking it's the cold, but with ducted air con his room stays pretty steady around 22-24 degrees, so nice and toasty... any ideas on what's waking him?

Marni - Glad P's egg and bruise are ok. B has always got something too. Last week was a cheek graze from the concrete path at the park (don't ask!) and a big scratch down his forehead, don't even know how that happened!

Sleepy - Yay for your sleep in - I soooo used to take that stuff for granted but now it's almost like winning the lotto!

Tina - How cold was Stanthorpe? Jealous of that pot belly stove tho! ;) Hey, I was thinking about what you said about demand feeding Zen, and decided to only give B his bedtime feed if he asks, until I go three days without him feeding, then Mummy's Cafe closes it's doors for good! So far he flat out refused a feed Saturday night (despite me asking him if he wanted one and 'showing him the goods'!!) and last night he didn't ask, so it looks like he's weaning himself.

AFM - DH has another of his headaches, this one was the worst for a long while - throwing up whenever he moved. So, B and I did the best thing for him and cleared out for the day yesterday to give him some peace! Now I have a heap of housework and grocery shopping to catch up on. Fun day for me today! :rolleyes:

Sounds like you all had a great time on Friday :D

Not too much happening here, A nights have improved dramatically past week going to bed at 7.30ish, wake up at 5 for a feed and then back down to 8 consistently and waking up that time she doesn't get another feed until nap time.

She is also finally walking :dance: she can't stand up by herself yet but will crawl to nearest chair, table, cupboard or my leg pull herself up and waddle off again...but crawling is still preferred mode of transport for mischief, it's so much quicker lol. It's still weird to turn around and see her walking towards me arrgghhh slow down time!!

Jleigh - Not sure why he'd be waking as A is so unpredictable just as she gets in a sleep routine it goes out the window - does he have any teeth coming through that might annoying him or is he due for another wonder week?

Gotta love the ducted heating, hasn't taken me long to get used to it :) though ours is gas and we are waiting on our first months bill using it, I'm a little bit scared but DH has had it going more than I did so don't feel so bad.

Well DH is back to work today for another 3 weeks but it's his last at that long as he's going back to 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. He's also applied for an internal position that could have him working mon-fri at home, with travel once a month. We're just waiting to here what $$'s they are offering to see if we can afford the pay cut - it will be end of an era for him since he's been doing what he does for 15 years.

And wondering if we'll kill each other being together 24/7 lol

E had a shocker of a night last night - he woke every 20 mins - grizzling and carrying on til 2.30am, then he woke again at 3.30am, so decided a bottle would be what I will use to get him back to sleep and it worked! I think he is teething tho, because he doesn't normaly have bad nights unless he is teething or sick...

Phoenix - I found gas to be cheap. We had it at our last 2 houses - not ducted heating or anything - but gas stove and oven and we used to use the oven to warm up the house and then turn it off, our bill was only ever high because of fees and stuff from the electricity/gas company. Gas is actually very cheap :) I am sure you and your DH will be fine - altho when mine is home for long periods of time he annoys me coz he gets bored and bossy and ruins my routines...lol (don't tell him I said that....lol)

My sister-in-law had her second baby this morning - was a baby boy :D he was 8 pounds 10. They kept it a surprise, so they didn't know the sex until he was born, as they already have a boy - who is 1 and a half. They wanted a girl, but I am sure they are happy coz this bub is healthy and HUGE! Born by ceasar at 9.31am. I haven't spoken to her yet - as I am sure she needs the rest, but I will catch up with her soon and find out his name :) new babies are so exciting ;)

Sleepy - Yay on the new baby!! It is very exciting. My new niece will be here in a couple of weeks and I am very excited :) I hope that E has a better night for you tonight. I hate having unsettled babies.

Phoenix - I'm sure you and DH will be ok, however my DH was just home for 4 days cause he was sick and the public holiday and I was ready to move him out lol! Yay for the walking Alycia!! You will be chasing her everywhere now!!

Jleigh - Hope Bos is sleeping better for you!

Phoebe is waking quite a bit but I am trying to be strong and not feed her. So we have lots of crying but so far I am winning! We had a follow up with our GP today for her ears and it is still red after a week on AB. A referral has been faxed off to the ENT at the royal Children's hospital. Hopefully it wont take too long for her to get an appt.

Jleigh - Hope B is sleeping better but if he's not I had a thought, could he be getting hot? I know if A is a bit warm for her liking she is restless and unsettled, I try to keep her room around the 18-20 degrees which seems to be agreeable for her lol.

Marni - How is poor P, hoping you get into an ENT soon and get some answers & relief for the poor little princess (and you too)

Well soon as I say A is sleeping well there is always a relapse lol but at least it's getting to be more good than bad nights now.

The walking is improving everyday and she now walks more than crawls but still can't stand up on her own but I'm sure she'll get there. She is becoming more of a parrot everyday and I'm really going to have to watch my vocabulary around her, especially my road rage in the car :D

It seems DH has got the job if he wants it, we are still waiting to hear the final salary package on offer before he'll commit to it, hoping it's something we can live with as he really needs a change. Considering I love having him home for 3 weeks fulltime I'm sure we'll adjust ok to him being home all the time but then he will be away travelling for one week a month so that should keep us both sane lol

Sleepy - So what's your new nephew's name? Congrats! ;) Any new teeth?

Marni - Hope that referral comes soon and that the sleeplessness settles - do you think they're related?

Phoenix - Glad A's nights are (slowly) improving. Good news about DH and the job - less travel can't be bad, even if it does mean less money! With A's parroting - is it clear to others or just you? And does she remember the word later? B's parroting is usually a one-off! KNow what you mean about the language too :redface:

AFM - B is up and down. Less clingy most of the time, but still goes through extra-clingy patches a couple of times a day where he has to be held, up off the ground and cuddled in a certain way! :rolleyes:

I spent three days over the weekend with the WORST gastro bug I've ever had. The nausea was unbelievable and I couldn't do anything at all. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy!

B spent last Friday morning (public hol) at the 7 day medical centre (guess where I picked up the bug??!! Grrrrrrrrr) cos he fell and put his tooth through his lip. It was fine, no treatment needed. But, he did have a stye on his eye that needed ointment - he looked like a boxer after the fight! All better now though.

B is also trying to parrot things, often it's only clear to me though. This morning he said 'turt' for turtle which was pretty cool - he gave himself a clap too! He has a huge vocab of about a dozen sounds (animals mostly), but very few actual words (he used to say birdie and do for dog but prefers the sounds now).

Our ducted air con is broken so we had no heating last night - :o freeeeeeeeeezing! The fix-it man probably won't get here til Tuesday so the fireplace will go on tonight.

And, the biggest news....

B is officially weaned.

Not sure how I feel, neither good nor bad. A bit empty maybe.

My new nephew finally has a name. It's Riley James. He had no name for a few days, only because the sex was a surprise. But he's a gorgeous healthy little fella. Lol.

JLeigh - boy that bug sounds terrible. We are all sick here at the moment. Coughs, runny noses and sore throats. It's not a fun house at the moment. But in sayi g that school holidays have started and that means sleep ins and laziness all round. Hahaha. I guess the weaning is a good thing. Means you can start the 'not trying' for another ;)

As you prolly have seen on Facebook, we are all quite sick at the moment, stoopid sicknesses getting around so like in this house isn't a happy one. Just full of sicko's lol. But it'll pass hopefully in the next few days or so. Elijah started out quite bad - 2 nights of no sleep for either of us. Was a shocker. He woke quite a few times last night too coz I think he is teething still as well. So far no teeth to show for it, his molars are sitting just under the gum, but not broken thru.

Anyway better get ready for shopping as we desperately need food - I hate taking the kids out like this - but it's a dire situation lol.

A is transitioning to one day sleep by dropping her arvo and still wanting her early morning nap, I'm trying to stretch it out later and later with out much luck........she's down now so I better get off my butt and get some housework done, I've been very slack past couple of days and it's catching up with me :D

Jleigh - Hope you and Bos are better! There is nothing worse than having to clean up after children spewing, while spewing yourself! Here's hoping that Bos doesn't cause more panic again anytime soon :)

Phoenix - That transitioning is a pain hey? Phoebe did it the week before she turned one and I really missed her second nap! She is good now if she sleeps for 1 1/2 hours but if she sleeps for less than an hour (like today) she is a complete pain by 4pm. We will have an appt date within the next 4 weeks, so heres hoping it isn't too many months in the future! And yes she will probably sleep better once she has gromits cause the pressure will be off her ears, so less pain.

Sleepy - Hope your house is healthier and you are able to have cuddles with your new nephew!

Well, Phoebe is sick again (no surprise!) this time with a double ear infection and a chest infection. So back on AB but with liquid ventolin this time as well. I think we managed 2 weeks without Ab this time. She is such a happy girl though, wanders around most of the day playing and asking for 'cuggles' either from me or just toys in general. It is very cute! I am trying to organise more study, crazy me but am confused just filling out the forms so a little worried as to how I will go, lol!

Thanks for your well-wishes everyone! We got over our gastro, but all three of us now have colds! :( B is improving, though still has a bit of a cough when he wakes and a loooooovely runny nose which makes him look like a little snotty brat, lol! DH has the classic head cold and runny nose and I have a sore throat and horrible, hacking cough so am sore all over. Geez I hate being sick!

Marni - P sick again????!!! Grrrr, you (and she) must be so over it!

Phoenix - B has been transitioning for about 3 months now. If he sleeps past 12pm he only has the one nap, which is most days now. He goes down at 11ish, though with his cold it's been 10:30 ish. Usually he has 1 1/4-1 1/2 hrs, but lately has only had 1 hr, so has been a real grizzle guts by late arvo! Yesterday he had 2 hrs + and stayed in his cot for almost 3 hrs total :dance: I find 1 nap means he's real tired and ready for bed by 7:15pm, so much so that the other week he refused to give me a kiss, just pointed to his bed and demanded we take him! And last night he got up in the middle of his book - we said, 'Don't you want to finish your story? Do you want to go straight to bed?' and he went and stood at his bedroom door! So cute!

Sleepy - Hope you are all feeling much better, can only imagine how it must be with a huge house full of sickies!!

AFM - Not much else happening here. B is still drooling like there's no tomorrow but no teeth to show for it. We've resorted to bibs again cos he wet through two t-shirts and two jackets the other day and I don't want wet, drooly fabric on his chest if he's sick!

The weaning seems to have gone well, though now I have even smaller bb's than before (and I used to be an A cup, so even smaller is just plain cruel!) :( Can't wait to get back into padded bras... :p

Jleigh - I could only hope my b**bs shrink if A ever gives them up :)

I'm still living in denial about the dropping to one sleep a day, if she gets tired and I put her in her cot and she'll generally play in there for a while until I decide it's not going to happen and get her out again, sometimes she drops off but more often not but it does give me about half hour/45mins of peace and quiet to get those things done without her tagging behind.

She is sleeping much better at night with only one nap, most nights nearly 13 hours in total (with at least one wake up) so that is a big plus......one day she might actually sleep right through but it's better than it was so not complaining.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I went to the chemist yesterday - and got some teething gel (SM33) and asked about teething tablets - I was told they have the 'new' Highlands tablets in stock now - apparently they had to change the formula of the tablets. She did say that the old ones were great for adults - especially with alcohol ;) hahaha but anyway just wanted to let you all know they are back now and readily available (well should be) at your local chemist.......not sure if they'll be as good as the old ones tho :)

E is going thru a stage where he refuses to go to sleep until 10 or 11pm lately. Last night was 11pm. But he is having 1 LONG nap during the day too - he didn't wake til 4.30pm yesterday, so maybe that has something to do with the not wanting to go to sleep til late.....he still hasn't cut his 4 molars yet - I can't wait til he does....

He is sleeping from anywhere between 11 and 1 - thru til 3-4.30pm so its a long sleep and I usually can get a nap in, espeically since he going to bed so late lately....

Ok well I better go and get some housework done and dinner prepped (we having crumbed chicken legs tonight) :D

Sleepy - I haven't seen the tablets. The website says that they aren't released again yet too? Did you buy any? Cause I will go to your chemist if they have them, lol! Hope that E sleeps earlier, have you tried waking him from his nap? I use SM33 too, great stuff!

Phoenix - Hope that you enjoy having hubby home, it will be nice for you to have that extra person for company and support! How are your curtains?

Jleigh - Hear you on the boobies! I am normally a B cup but I bet I will drop even smaller :(

I hate teeth!! I don't even know what Phoebe is cutting atm. She has half of one top molar and I think that it is her other molar and front bottom side coming now. She is a cranky girl... When she woke last night I just couldn't calm her. I gave her panadol, sm33, brauers teething relief and she just kept screaming! In the end I fed her some green icy pole! I don't know if it was the healthiest option at 10pm but it worked and she went back to sleep with only a little protesting then and slept til 5am!

I'm off to buy the tablets and green icy poles! I want some sleep!

I went to Terry White chemist - and she said they had the new formula - so try ringing around Marni if you can't find any......

Well E still has his molars, just sitting there, doing nothing - but being a pain in the neck :( He slept ok last night, but the 2 nights before that, he has woken at around midnight and screamed the house down - so we give him nurofen, sm33, teething tablets and a bottle - warm milk as well seems to help I think - if he wants it that is...lol

I got to go out on Friday night - finally while DH stayed at home with the boys...so that was nice, to actually get out with some adults and talk and dance and drink....lol, was fun :)

Back to school tomorrow - so back to the routine of getting up at 7am and getting 2 boys off to school...it's too cold to get up :( lol but oh well, it has to be done i guess....

B is getting over ANOTHER cold (had only just put the vaporiser away from last one) but this one hasn't seemed to worry him.

We had a couple of rough nights last weekend, which I've put down to family stress making him anxious. I started back at work one day a week this week so was a 'tad' excited/worried and DH and his stupid laundry reno didn't help things. He made soooo much mess, didn't clean it up, asked me to take B out so he can work in peace, but didn't do anything else around the house so I had to come home at 5pm, organise tea, do all the washing up, clothes washing (pretty hard with only a part time washing machine) and cleaning at night. Repeat for three days in a row! Plus, we had a photos taken of our deck for a magazine editorial/ad thingy, which meant it all had to be cleaned and tidied. At least I'll be getting a 'new' laundry soon...

Hope everyone is getting some decent sleep now. No new teeth here either but we have had another growth spurt (800g since I last weighed him, about 6 weeks ago!) - could explain the grizzles too I s'pose?

Jleigh - how are you enjoying being back at work? 800gms in 6 weeks is a pretty good effort, go B. Hope his cold settles soon and I hope you get your new laundry very soon :)

Marni - icypoles fix everything lol I was addicted to them while I was pregnant I have tried them on A but she has been known to get a spoonful or two of icecream to "help" her mouth.

We're cutting molars here too, have half a one hanging out but admittedly she's been really really good with them, barely made a difference to her sleep or her mood :redface: - I believe in my teething necklace more and more with each one that comes through.

Last week we all had a bout of 24hour gastro, it all hit and the same time so we were a pretty miserable household for a couple of days.

Oh dear, she's awake hopefully not too cranky as she finally had her 12 month needles yesterday and we're off to the zoo this arvo.

goodness me this thread has been busy! I dont get online all that often anymore since Zen only has 1 daytime nap, i usually sneak on on my nobile for quick fb updates.

Sleepy - sucks to have to get up to get boys to school but I always need to be up by 7.30am at the latest for Zen.

AFM: Zen was officially weaned 16 July - the day he turned 14mths :) we've had no issues as long as he doesnt see my boobs. he is on one bottle of warm milk at approx 7pm. into bed at 8pm and sleeps now till 7.30am. it is bliss! he goes down about 11am-12pm for anywhere from 1-2 hrs. He has cut all 4 molars, he did it in 2 wks so while those 2 wks were hell at least now its over...till the next lot lol
Just want to have a whinge where I know it doesnt go any furhter...do any of you feel that sometimes your DH's are just complete morons??? Friday night is DH's drinking night, he buys some wild turkey, he & his bro have a few then he comes in, has dinner and we chat/watch tv etc. last night he came in late, ate dinner, grabbed more drinks and disappeared. yes he did ask me if I want to come over but I have Zen and its freezing outside and only 30mins before his bedtime. he said he'll be back for the movie we had planned to watch all week. at 10.45pm he finally comes in. apparently friends of ours turned up. I'm ****ed off that a)he didnt come and ask me to join them since en was asleep & i wouldnt have minded leaving him or b) the so-called friends didnt walk the 100m to say hi. I said something to him, albeit in a snipey way, and he told me to 'grow up'. I just wonder how to get across the fact that i dont know many ppl in town and when I spend all day with just a baby, to then spend all night alone also is a bit much.

Tina - I hear you about spending all day alone and then all night too. DH isn't much of a talker and would happily spend all night in silence - sometimes it's like pulling teeth to get two words out of him. I tell him I spend all day talking to someone that doesn't talk back (that I can understand!), about riveting topics like noses, fingers and brushes (his current obsession - toothbrushes, hairbrushes, dishbrushes, brooms etc), it would be nice to get an answer from him. It's not like it's in-depth stuff, just general chat. :rolleyes: I'd be annoyed at DH AND your 'friends' if I were you! :doh:

Tina (again) - well done on weaning Zen!

Phoenix - Work was great - so nice to feel useful for something else besides mummy stuff and housework! :dance: Boz had an awesome day with my Mum, so I know I don't have to worry about him either. Well we have cut half of 2 molars but are still waiting for the 8th front tooth. I have an appt with an ENT of Tuesday morning. We are paying to go privately cause we cant afford to wait!

Tina - So it appears to be a male thing - as I am struggling with DH lately too - always wants to be out with the boys (and I don't mean his sons) - he wants to spend his weekends drinking (didn't go to bed til 5am saturday morning), woke up at 11am, then we went out for lunch (the pub) where he continued to drink. We came home after lunch for him to go out to another pub with his mates again and came home at 6.30pm last night - so we are going to be having a very serious chat later about these things......it's not so bad if I get to go out and have fun too, but for me to basically spend the whole weekend with the kids while he goes off and has a good time just isn't fair to me or the kids...so I hear you there sister!!!!

Marni - Fingers crossed you can go private I just hope they do something asap as I know sickness isn't good and you and poor bub have gone thru s omuch :( thank goodness for panadol and nurofen tho :)

JLeigh - Its good you're getting a break. Good to see Bos had a good day with your mum - is he getting less clingy now you're back working?

AFM - I do spend alot of time on facebook, but thats only because most of us are friends on there and theres always something interesting going on...hahaha. I bought myself a new laptop, so i can be mobily conected around the house, also got a wifi modem, so that helps lol. I am trying to buy only things I need for the kids and house, but find it hard to control spending when my tax comes in.....lol, I have to be strong - but its so hard........I bought an awesome pair of knee high boots on ebay yesterday - completely unnecessary but oh they are so awesome lol) I am also going second hand shopping tomorrow for more clothes - my boys are growing so fast it feels like they need new stuff every week...lol

E is doing better - his molars still haven't cut thru yet, and he got sick yesterday, started with a fever, watery eyes, and his chest is quite loud crackley too, I have been dosing him up on nurofen but he woke up so much last night, it was quite painful actually :( was cold and I really didn't get much sleep (as DH lays there snoring) getting up and fixing his blankets and soothing him - I'm guessing he was in pain and cold...lol

Sleepy - bloody men! how bout you get your boots, Bushy and I come over, we leave them home with the kids and go out??

we went to a friends place last night and I know how Zens crying drives Bushy nuts. anyway, Zen was overtired - different environement so wasnt going to sleep and Bushy goes into the lounge to try and rock him to sleep. After 5 mins I go in cause he is still crying and I took Zen. Then, after a 30 or so mins where he is laying quietly on me but not sleeping I go back in to everyone...and have Bushy get up me in front of everyone about taking Zen when he 'nearly had him asleep - so now its your problem, deal with it'
I dont know why but this week he is just giving me the royal poopies!.he is normally pretty good so maybe it is just me taking things more personaly lately?thank god for the chance to vent on here!! lol...i'd explode otherwise!

ahhhh must be the moon phase??? DH has been moodier than normal too lol but I've got one like Jleigh's that is happy to sit in silence for hours on end or playing on his iphone and it drives me batty especially if he's been working outside or in the "shed" and I've been stuck with A all day

Sleepy - I'd be taking a boot to his butt too if DH was out all night drinking and then on it again with his mates the next day......hope you get him sorted :)

Jleigh - those few hours of "adult" time is great isn't it. I'm starting to think I need to put A in care for when I work, might start looking into FDC.

Well we've survived our 12 month needles without much hassle, seems we have another molar half broken through so that explains the couple of nights of wake ups.

How do you guys deal with your LO's walking, A wants to walk everywhere but has no fear of not being near me that she will just walk and walk and walk not caring how far I am from her. She holds me hand for about a minute and then cracks it, cracks it if I put her in the pram.......I'm seriously thinking of getting her one of those backpack leashy things just for when we are out in the open like shops, zoo etc until she understands can't just take off.

hmmm..Zen is content still to be carried/in pram.Or he LOVES his little trike that has the handle for me to push/steer. personally I hate those leashes but...I havent got the issue of a LO that runs away from me lol...lets see my stance when he can!

I'm going to keep at the if you run off or don't hold my hand you go in the pram option but since we bought a zoo membership to go whenever we want would be nice if she could just stroll around without having to worry

These are the time I wish she was a clinging mummy's girl but she is such a social butterfly she will stop and talk to anyone who so much as smiles at her.

I don't need a preg test - monthly visitors came at 2am last night hahahaha - big sigh of relief tho :D

E loves running around at home, I leave the back doors open - and he runs in and out - only as long as the side gate is closed, because he can't get out....lol. While shopping tho he is more than happy to stay in the pram or trolley for a while - but can't wait to run around once we get home.

E has been quite sick and teething the last few nights, and I am struggling with the whole no sleep thing, but managed to get thru today with 2 coffees :D becaseu DH stayed home (due to lack of sleep) and watched the 3 younger ones while I went second hand shopping - was fun (without kids) and I really didnt want to come home for ages...lol aahhhh the quiet was nice :D

I have sorted out DH and have agreed no more drinking on weekdays (except fridays) and only light beers for a while on weekends - I put the ban stick on him for a while - he needs it tho (they're just like children sometimes ;p)

Dh took the littlies to the Dr and Elijah and Jhye have antibiotics now, so am hoping for a better night sleep tonight and Cooper had his 4 year old needles today - thank goodness I wasn't there :( apparently he screamed the place down...and it was 2 needles :( was nice to have a break tho, and not have to deal with the Dr or needles for once...

Sleepy - good to hear you've pulled DH into line :D Hope everyone in your house is starting to feel better and you are getting some sleep

Sleepy - Way to go - sounds like you sorted DH out! All that drinking and late nights would drive me INSANE! I'd be G.O.N.E.! Maybe he's the one who needs the preg test, rofl! Mid life crisis?! ;) Hope your little men are on the mend now they have ab's. Sounds like the break did you good too - too short tho, I bet?! :D

Marni - Yep, another one to pester you - how did the specialist go? I am hoping to do two days next year, though not sure exactly what! I am 1 hr 10 mins from work atm, and can only do supply work nearer to home, which isn't reliable. I am looking at other options - private system or doing something different. Too hard/stressful to think about atm so am just ignoring it all! :redface:

Phoenix - I wasn't keen on the idea of a 'leash' either, but as a friend says, better that than having a LO abducted or run over. I bought him one last week - he LOVES LOVES LOVES the teddy bear backpack, but I haven't used the leash part yet. Maybe this arvo on our walk to the park... I am thinking of FDC as an option for next year too. B is so 'fragile', the kids in a centre would have him in hysterics I think. Having said that, he would benefit from the interaction...

AFM - B is great atm, sleeping well and less snotty (thank bl%$^dy goodness!). He's clingy with me at home, but less so if we're out and about (more to distract him I guess). If I leave the room, he'll follow me and I can't do anything without him wanting to be involved (read that as 'pulling at me to be picked up' :rolleyes:) - washing up, hanging/folding washing etc. He will play independently for a max of 3 mins, but usually it's about 1 min! Any ideas on encouraging independent play welcome! He doesn't get upset when I go to work, but DH still can't leave his sight without him cracking it big time.
We're off to Hervey Bay for a week on Friday - I've just booked us on a whale watching cruise too, soooooo excited! :dance:

Sleepy - Glad you told DH who is boss!! I swear they think that we just leave the children to fend for themselves and sleep all day! Good to see that you got some sleep - Phoebe has been up with what I assume is teeth too.

Jleigh - With the sep anxiety they say just to go with it and they will improve more quickly. If you try and make them independent apparently they cling more. That is just what I have heard though. Both of my girls are pretty independent though, only with moments of clingyness.

Phoenix - Hope you are surviving alone :) Only 20 days now! How are your new curtains?

Phoebe is booked in to have adnoids removed and grommits in on September 19! It is the week of Tiana's birthday so hoping she bounces back quick! We went as an intermediate patient so she is at the Royal Children's and we only pay the surgeon and anethesist. We will be out of pocket $1500. If we went totally private she could be done next week but we would be looking at $3500!! Which we just can't afford. And thats only 6 weeks away so prob only 3-4 more lots of antibiotics!
Other than that we are doing well, i am about to start my study and relief work. I handed in Phoebe's enrollment to the daycare which is scary but I know she will be fine, its just me lol. She still wont wean, I think I am just going to go cold turkey soon.

Marni - Excellent news about Phoebe, though it must be a little scary for you that your baby will be operated on! I've heard children bounce back sooooo quickly from this kind of stuff - I bet she'll be fine for Tiana's birthday... :D

With the weaning, I found when B saw the cup of milk, he got soooo excited that he didn't even care about bf!!! Does P drink milk? I also found just changing his routine a little bit so he wasn't reminded that it was bf time helped. A friend went cold turkey from 3 feeds a day and feeding to sleep - she stayed with her parents for a couple of days so bub was in a new environment and didn't have the usual feeding reminders.

I've heard the same about the separation anxiety. It honestly doesn't worry me that much. His sleeping is near perfect (I go in to him maybe once a week, for less than a minute to resettle), and that is just amazing! And he's usually happy in his clinginess, so he's good to be around. I love this age... :lol:
