Yeah jemima is doing the whole hitting thing too. We r giving warnings and then sending her to the bathroom for time out. She only stays in there for about 30 seconds to and she has to say sorry on her way out or she stays in but we always get down to her level to ask for the sorry and then she gets a hug and kiss and told we love her. It seems to be reducing the amount of hitting and kicking we are coping. Not fun for any of us tho
Kyson has to say sorry on his way out too, and give a cuddle. I must admit it's rather cute when I open the door and he says "sorry mummy" with his arms in the air for his cuddle
Our tanties are mega here too. Phoebe hasn't cottoned on to 'sorry' yet - we've only recently started with 'thank you'! (Late bloomer as far as manners are concerned, LOL! Although she does say 'pardon me' after she burps which is more than her father does.)
She doesn't throw things either, unless you count herself (ie, in the midst of the banshee-esque screeching she will propel herself backwards onto the floor). This is done with gay abandon on carpeted floors, however it is somewhat more gingerly on the lino floor. Her screaming is really quite disturbing. The only way I need to deal with it though is to ignore - I stay with her but I don't pay her any attention until she has settled down. It would be different though if she were hurting me/others though. We would do time out here too, probably sitting in a chair. Natalie however is taken to her room for time-outs these days, but she used to stay on the chair when she was this young.
She's actually having tantrums at bedtime! Nothing in her routine has changed and she is delightful whilst we are brushing teeth, reading a story and saying goodnight to the three owls on her wall but then as soon as you get near her bed she gets quite irate. It's sooooo hard - not sure what we can do about it. It's obvious she doesn't want to go to bed, and perhaps she's overtired, but it's getting very draining and the tanty goes on for quite a while. I thought we were done with bedtime difficulties but they've stepped up a notch once again.
We have a bit of throwing here too, and some lashing out.
Otherwise all good, enjoying not working but seem to have over scheduled myself already - oh well mum will be back from Darwin in a few weeks and can chill then. Flat is freezing and possums have eaten everything on the balcony :-(. Up until now CJ had been refusing to go anywhere near a potty (cheapo white one) so my mum suggested getting her a pink one (she loves everything pink - as I am not a fan of pink at all she is obviously rebelling early!), it arrived yesterday and she is very interested in it, sitting on it etc, no actual business yet but seems hopeful. She only has 2 pink nappies, so the idea of getting to wear pink underwear every day if she is not in nappies is appealing to her!! I can't think where she gets her love of everything girly from, she loves dressing up at mothers group and playgroup in princess dresses, wants to wear a dress every day (and doesn't like covering them up with a coat) and loves flowers, butterflies etc etc. Oh well I did want her to be a bit more balanced than me and like girly things a bit so all is good I suppose and thankfully she does share my love of trains.
Gosh Vic, I just realised how close you are getting to your due date - Wow, that seemed to go fast (maybe not for you hehehehee)
Funnily I was thinking of toddler behaviour as my blog inspiration tonight, but I digress.... Tantrums seem to have eased off here, that seemed to happen when Bailz joined the toddler room and his speech exploded - I am thinking it's because he can communicate better and is frustrated less. I am knocking on wood as I type though that the tantrums stay away Funnily enough though I have this theory on Bailz - as he is a good napper (and now a great sleeper overnight - only took 2 years LOL) he rarely gets overtired and that is always the trigger for tanties when they occasionally do happen. Our Physio once asked us if he gets tired easily as she thought it would be likely as he's always been quite lacking in tone (eg floppy kid) and in reflection I can see that we'd never really had any issues at bed time or nap times and that is probably the reason why (I'd like to claim my brilliant parenting as the reason, but who are we kidding PMSL). Anyhoo, I think that's a factor for us - less issues with over-tiredness which translate into a happy little chappy most of the time.
However while the majority of the time we are tanty free - Bailey's trump card is selective deafness. He has brilliant hearing though, he can hear me take a food wrapper off from 20km away and be standing next to me seconds later begging for my food However his selective deafness while totally frustrating at times, is rather cute, especially as I tend to just say "Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey" over and over until he turns around with the cheekiest of grins (ok, so I over-did it on the Bailey's LOL)

So currently my kid is pretty easy (but far from perfect, but perfectly a toddler IYKWIM), however when we are posting in this thread in 13 years time and I have the most annoying teenager in the group, remind me that karma is a biatch However speaking of Karma - sometimes I think the universe has given Bailz enough grief with his Hip Dysplasia, orthotics, tone issues and the like and is currently being mega kind - but hey, I'll take it
Still reading, mum is here so keeping me occupied, is lovely seeing her with CJ and just hanging out this last two weeks. So that and the fact I seem to be unable to distance myself from the fridge and filling my face have not been posting much - this one via my phone while waiting for toast to cook my effort to reduce the multiple overnight snack fests down to just one! I think am worse this time than with CJ - am always a human dustbin but this is ridiculous!
Kyson, Shayla and I have come down with the germies, grrrr. Shayla's not too bad, just a little bit of booger from time to time. She was snuffly at night for 2 nights, nut is much better now. Kyson is a booger face half the time, but much worse when he has a tanty and cries. If he feels anything like I do then I'm surprised he's not more upset. Looking back on it, there was a night where Shayla was restless and kept waking but didn't want to feed. She would lay next to me grumbling for a few minutes then go back to sleep, and now I wonder if her throat was as sore as mine was a few days later. Poor thing! Fingers crossed we recover quickly!
Vic, I can't believe how close you are to meeting Stirling! Where are you having him, and are you going to want visitors? Lol, can you tell I'm excited to met him? Hehe. Don't worry, I'll make sure these germies are well and truly gone before I come near him

KL - having him at Birralee Box Hill, if I manage VBAC hoping won't be there long enough for visitors, but if is Caesar am sure will be hanging out for some - will let you know. CJ did a wee on potty yesterday morning and a poo last night, first time she has done anything other than just sit on it - so that was cool, making some progress with mums help.

Today we had our first IVF appt. We both need to go and have some tests as our last ones are 3 years old - ovarian reserve test for me, semen analysis for DH, then we go back on August 3 to discuss the outcomes of that and when to start a cycle - we are on our way. Our FS is going to double my drugs this time seeing as we had a poor response last time (even though we obviously got pregnant we only had 1 fertilised embryo so we were pretty darn lucky), so hopefully this will increase our chances of success.
I was a bit worried as our 2nd car is about to die (what is it with us and cars this year) so we need to find $5000 to buy what we need 2nd hand and the only savings we really had was our IVF stash. However we have decided to redraws some of the money we've paid extra on our mortgage for the car so we can still go ahead with baby#2. I HATE that it revolves around money!!! Anyway, hoping that when we cycle we'll have some success as we can probably squeeze two cycles in money wise (the 2nd with the help of the credit card) but that's about it.
So anyway, bare with me as I am feeling myself falling into the 'my world is revolving around IVF' headspace again!!
BG: That all sucks. I am sure you would manage ok with the plaster though - I reckon E would adjust and no doubt surprise you with her empathy.
Vic: LOL, that's funny. Think of the snacking as giving yourself lots of reserves for labour So glad you are able to enjoy some time with your mum and WOOHOO to CJ on her potty achievements! That's fantastic.
KL: The snots SUCK! (Or should I say, blow. LOL!) Hope your lot are all feeling better soon.
Nay: So sorry to hear about the car. But how wonderful that the IVF ball is rolling! I am sure we all understand that this will be a thought-consuming time for you guys. Know that we're always happy to be a sounding board for you if you happen to need it.
We are so far coping with a little bit of snottiness - that seems to be the worst of it thus far which is a relief. My neck is killing me and I know it's because of the way I lie next to Natty's bed playing on my phone while she falls asleep. Deeply ingrained habits are very hard to break though!
Work is very quiet at the moment so I'm enjoying catching up on my social media Has been good seeing all the pics on FB!
I'm fuming at my dog right now! Earlier today I think he bit Kyson's hand. It wasn't even like Kyson was playing outside and I had left him alone with the dog. I was standing in the kitchen and Kyson was at the sliding door (literally 2-3 meters at most). Out of the corner of my eye I saw Kyson start to go outside and Akeida jumped away and made a yelpy startled kind of noise. Then Kyson threw the coin he was holding (he likes money at the moment) and he turned to me and started crying. I thought Akeida just scared him with the noise so ask I went to him I was telling him it was ok and that he just got scared. But then I noticed he was holding his hand as he came for a cuddle. I had a look at it and it seemed fine, but there was a small mark that might have been a tooth mark. So I think the dog actually snapped at Kyson and got his hand a little.
He's never bitten anyone before. Some times if he gets startled he'll yelp and swing around with a snapping action, but he's never once bitten. He's not the most tolerant type of breed, but we know that which is why we're always close by when the dog is near the kids. It's very possible that he just snapped his teeth when he got startled and didn't actually mean to get Kyson, but gosh it's scary to think he might have done it on purpose He's also not the most obedient of dogs (although he'll do almost anything for a food treat. He remembers all his training when there's food involved...) so when I tried to get him to come inside so I could put him in the laundry there was no way he wanted to come near me. *sigh*
Stirling Arthur arrived yesterday 17th - his due date via emergency Caesar - got stuck like his big sister - 4.36kg 53cm. So no VBAC but all good, happy with how all went.
Only just got phone with power so back later to update more. He is very like CJ.
Congrats babe, I've enjoyed 'meeting' him on FB. Hope you are well and recovering from your C-section. I had a giggle at Lee's comment that he is now a numbers man re the tax return submission gag
